Though New Moon will be filmed in Montepulciano Italy, the original was set in Volterra. Fans flocking to Volterra to check out the locations from New Moon are in luck: the local tourism office has made a special map to hand out for self-guided tours of all the sights. There are also shops selling handsome New Moon themed glassware.

From the informaton office on the Pallazzo dei Priori you can recieve a free official New Moon Volterra map which you can follow the exact route that Bella, Alice and Edward took.

First you enter the Porta Francesco, then follow the road where Alice drove into the city, Alice then drops Bella of at the entrance to the Pallazzo, where Bella has two minutes to find Edward, Bella then finds Edward in the alleyway (vicolo mazzoni). Edward and Bella are then led through the streets to the Viti house ( this is fun because the basement is all set up for Twilight fans and there is a special wall for them to write messages on). Edward and Bella then run through the dark archway leaving the city (Porta all Arco)

On the way around there are shops where you can buy Twilight stuff, we bought a fewTwilight necklaces and a Twilight apple.

Curious about the necklace that New Moon star Robert pattinson has been sporting while he’s been in Cannes? There’s a good chance that it’s a goold shark tooth necklace made by Finn Jewelry. Candace Pool from Finn says–

“We sent over some pieces [for the shoot], but we knew that Robert didn’t wear much bling,” says Finn Jewelry’s Candace Pool, who tells us the designer of the incisor “freaked out when she heard how much he liked the necklace.”

Apparently, Brad Pitt and Liev Schreiber have the same piece.

Here’s a vid that summarizes what’s been going on in Montepulciano, Italy with the construction of a new fountain to be used in New Moon.

Shire from TwilightItalia says–

Essentially, in this article we say that yesterday, the Mayor of Montepulciano was in the town square (where the fountain is being built) in person and it seems like they were working on security.

The most interesting (and strange) fact is that our friend found a lot of road signs around town saying that some streets will be closed on friday, May 22nd, from 6:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.

Does this mean filming will start a bit early, before the supposed May 25th date?
