i saw this a while back, and i really wanted one. but then i saw sense, with some mates help(: i dont think i would have gone through with it anyway, but id never have someones name tatooed like that; i mean, its permenant! &for e.g. what if something went really wrong, rob messed up like, big time and everyone hated him or he went to jail or something (yes, this is technically very unlikely) and you had his name tattooed on your arm, it wouldnt look very good, would it?
id maybe get it traced onto my arm in permenant marker(: but after a few weeks, it would wash off, id never have anything permenantly like that.

But if 'anything went wrong' you could always have it changed into something else :) Thatis my philosophy anyway!

Just wanted to add....having read a couple of posts just above mine....mine was an actual autograph onto my arm. I wouldn't have done it with just a copy because I agree with the comment that that just isn't 'real'.

I found this page as I have recently had my idols autograph tatooed on my wrist so did an internet search to find related articles. I am really interested to read your comments on this subject. A lot of them made me laugh! I am quite sure that most of the population feel that such an action is 'pole vaulting over the line' as someone so eloquently put it! I am only three weeks down the line with my tattoo so I acept it is early days but so far I do not regret my decision. I gave the mattter VERY careful consideration before going ahead. I am 45 by the way so not young and impulsive. This was my first tattoo (although at the same time I had a family one done on my leg). I don't intend to have any more tattoos done. This is it. I have bought some bracelets which fully cover my tattoo which I can wear when I do not feel it is appropriate to display it. However, this is purely for professional reasons. I would be quite happy to display it all the time but I do realise there is 'a time and a place'. I accept that I am an obsessional fan. But my obsession is kept in check, I am not a dangerous person! I ensured that I had the full consent of the person involved before I went ahead with this. He was fully aware what I intended to do. I would NOT have done it otherwise under any circumstance. I think, personally, that that is an important factor.

I think it's quite cool actualy..it's something I would probably do, I've gone a bit crazy (in a good way, I think) because of Twilight, so why not..

I say whatever floats your boat. I have four tattoos myself and I know that not everyone is into tattoos and not everyone would understand the reason behind some (or all) of my tattoos, but they have a personal meaning to me and that is all that matters.

Personally I don't think I would ever get Rob's autograph tattooed on me (even though I, too, am a HUGE fan of his), but I wouldn't knock someone else's reason behind getting it done as long as they are happy with it. As far as Twilight related tattoos, just like my opinion on getting Rob's signature as a tattoo, as long as it makes you happy. (I am actually planning on getting my favorite quote from Eclipse as my next tattoo, so yeah, I guess you can say I'm all for it as long as it makes you happy and screw what everyone else thinks because it isn't their body).

It amazes me how judgemental most of you are about this.

I'm not a big time Rob fan - I do think he's a great actor and quite hot, but someone sent me this link on another site, so that's how I ended up here.

Everyone attaches different value to the tattoos they get. Most of the time, tattoos are just a way of expressing YOURSELF and something you want to remember. That's what my tattoos signify. So my take on this tattoo would be that this is just a fan who is actually very inspired by Rob, and wants to remember this phase of her life as something positive. I don't see what else I should read into it? Getting a tattoo is nothing more than that. She tattooed something that made HER happy, why should she care what Rob would think of it? For as far as I can see, the tattoo doesn't say "Mrs Pattinson" or "Forever" or anything like that... I think you're all reading way too much into it.

In fact I think most of those rather cruel, ridiculing reactions are probably rooted in your own feelings towards Rob, which is fine. But why else would you be so keen on judging her? I mean the words are pretty harsh, "insane" isn't really a very nice thing to call someone you know nothing about.

In the end all tattoos are personal, whether they are the signature of your favourite actor, a religious symbol or your husband's/boyfriend's name - these kinds of tattoos can all lose value to you at some point in your life, these are all aspects of your life that can change over time, and that are dedicated to someone else. However the value you attach to it is all yours, and I don't think any of us are in a position where we can decide if this person is in fact clinically insane. Give your sista a break for crying out loud.

But I don't feel the need to judge this young lady for doing it, because I don't know her, and I don't have any need for projection or projection of superiority... see how that works? :-) Just say "Good for her" and accept that you can't walk around labeling people to your personal comfort.

FIRST--I am feeling sorry for this woman right now because of all the remarks that are not very kind--geez folks, take it easy. It's not the end of the world for her. She made a judgment and well, if she's happy about it, it's her right--her bod.
I have quite a few tatts myself--nothing like that though...I MOST definitely wouldn't do it--but that's ME. I just don't get the whole autograph collecting thing anyway, so wouldn't even dream about engraving it forever into by skin. (I'd be so embarrassed if I ever met Rob...ya know she CAN cover it with another Twilight inspired design...if she wants to)
And having said all that...I do have a geeky confession: my tattoo of Lord of the Rings design...BUT it's not Liv Tyler as Arwen or Viggo as Aragorn. It's a band around my bicep of elvish writing (which I meticulously researched the translation and font for over a year), a star, and a beautiful elf/goddess whose hair wraps around the words and flows into a forest of trees design under my arm....GEEEEEK!
but the artist and I designed it and I love it.

Let's not forget that tattoos tell a story and mark time in a person's life. To this girl, meeting Robert was probably one of the best things that has ever happened to her thus making such an impact that she wanted to remember it forever. She will forever remember where she was when she met Rob and the joy of the moment so it will make her smile and reflect and should her grandkids ask, she DOES have a story to tell.

To me getting that quote is not a big deal. It is a quote from a book, a lot of people get their favorite quotes tattooed. The only names I will be getting tattooed on me are my children.

I love tattoos and have many of my own and always thought about getting an autograph tattooed if that someone actually autographed a part of my body. (Example: Rob signs my wrist THEN i got have it permanently inked in the same spot) BUT my tattoo would have to be someone cooler than Rob! Sorry!! But if she's an actual die hard fan and its not just a trend, than I think its cool! I've seen a few people with Michael Jackson's autograph tattooed on them..so whatev!

I was in the vip at a concert once and at this one there was to be no asking for autographs well.... there was a girl who got away with it... why, well because all over her back & sholders she had autograph tattoos of all these different people. I'm not sure if the band thought she was cool or just completly psycho so were scared to say no. The lady actually had one guys signiture tattooed twice... thats even worse then doing it the first time. lol

I went to see -America & Lovin' Spoonful- in concert back in '99 yeah I couldn't even hold on to the Ticket stubs for a week 'No Clue what happened too them' so what would I ever do with a piece of paper with a scribble on it. and a Picture "Huh" there's a couple boxes in the attic full of them My oldest is 12 last update on his book he was 2 LOL - I'm just too disorganized and erratic to deal with stuff like that. I look at these tattoos and all I can think are that they must have hurt like hell and taken forever to be inked... I mean, people have tattoos for patriotism and dead relatives, but this is definitely crossing a line! Total disrespect. Someone gives an autograph as a gift, thanking the person asking for being a fan and being supportive of their work. This person has taken that gift (either actually given and photocopied in order to get the tat... or just plain lifted from somewhere else) and ultimately destroyed the intent behind it. If you are Rob's biggest fan great, wonderful, put his face on your chest and go topless... whatever. But to take something so personal and do this is insulting, not just to Rob, but to every one of his fans that actually give a crap about him - more than just the fact that he takes in air. He's not a piece of meat and taking anything from him on a personal level and exploiting it is just self centered. Its crap like this that makes celebrities decide to quit giving autographs altogether.

I wonder if she actually got his autograph or just copied one off the web?

I have a small ruffled tulip like the one on the new moon cover, so I can't be too hypercritical - but a persons actual signature is a bit weird!

If you're getting a name...it better be of someone you're related to by blood or in memory of someone you were close to who passed. In my opinion it is too... much. I mean you can like Rob and his talent as an acteur or something like this, but that´s exaggerated! I would never distroy my body for my idol and my parents would kill me, I´m sure. And what will happen if you won´t like him in the future, if he becomes old or he becomes a little idiot. I am a big fan of tattoos in general, and I have my own plans of getting a tattoo of a branchy looking tree with hearts on the branches, and then a silhouette of a lion and lamb with a heart between them standing under the tree with the quote "And so the lion fell in love with the lamb" (in Edward font) At the top and bottom of the image (on the back of my shoulder. I think tattoos should have special meanings and be of something a person feels passionate about. I am a very passionate Twilight fan, with many other tats already so why wouldn't I get one of something that has taken up the majority of my free time, and I know I will always and forever LOVE haha.
That being said, I would never get a autograph tattoo though, but to each their own.

see, I think that lines like that should be bumper stickers on your vehicle, or a parking sign like, "Only Dr. Carlisle Fans Park here". I have seen some pretty bizarre tattoos, and almost every person who's had a fad tattoo has regretted it only 5 years later.

My uncle (aunt's husband, no relation) got "may the force be with you" tattooed on his arm. 20 years later, he still loves it. Then again, he still goes to star wars conventions dressed up as a star trooper, and he is almost 50.

Actually, I can't agree, because me and my 2 best friends all have a Twilight tattoo. Yes, a bit crazy, but ours are some scroll work, 3 stars and the word Twilight. We did think long and hard about it, and in the end we decided for it, I do agree, that having someone's name is way above the top, unless it is a relative. This tattoo seems like something a stalker would do, but who am I to judge.

People often go to studios for tours or television tapings with audiences, and I have worked at every studio in Hollywood and have authority to keep people from visiting the studio lot for strange behavior. I have read tons of strange fan letters sent to actors and talked to many of them as well, and stuff LESS odd than this has gotten people banned from entering a studio lot so they're not too close to the actor(s). This is too much.

I don't know if it legally counts as forgery since it's not being written on a legal document. I know someone who got their favorite singer to sign by their tattoo, and then got the autograph tattooed on. Again, while I wouldn't do that, her tatt made more sense to me than this. But there are lots of tatt artists that do this. I do know of quite a few who will not do signatures because they think it's wrong. .

The wolf is a symbol of strength, but every image I came acrossed was either to complex for something small or looked very masculine. I happened to be in Hot Topics looking for Jewelry and there was a Twilight jewelry set that had a necklace and matching earrings with a simple outline of a wolf... I went with it, not to mention it blue and so is my birthstone. My tattoo artist added to it, but because I got the idea from something Twilight, i say it's "Twilight Inspired". BUT....to put someones name on you...I mean I've been with my husband for 13 years and I won't even put his name on me...lol Let alone someone I don't even know personally. And I would never feel right putting someone's name on me with out their permission...be realistic...it's seems like a violation of his privacy in some way to me. Rob aside...being a huge fan aside...the fact that it crosses several lines of insanity aside....why on earth would you put just anyones name...PERMANENTLY...on your body??? Ludacris!!!!!!!!
