That was a pretty good interview. Rob's correct. If he wanted to go back to London and sort of disappear, it wouldn't be possible. Us, Twilight fans would just hunt him down. :)

Shoot he could be bald for all I cared... he's gorgeous no matter what... I liked that hairstyle as well as his "sculpted" hair.... hehe... he's such a dork... my rebel... LOVE him!

Well, my opinion of him went down a couple levels. It really shows his age and lack of maturity that he would do that. Really, all this shows is that he has no respect for any authority and certainly no respect for the job he has been blessed to have. Wait till you're done and then chop chop if you want.

Look at Taylor, he spent the year diving into the role, putting on weight and being super mature for his age. Way more mature than some goof off trying to show some stupid "point" by cutting his hair that is crucial to the break through role he is in the middle of shooting. (He may have been on break but he had 2 or more movies to go). Badly done, Rob, badly done.

It's one thing to work out for a role (which Rob's done too), or have to change your whole life for your job (which he's done too), or research thoroughly for your role (which he's done).....and basically suspend normal life....(which he's had to do more than any of the others).

It is quite another for some stupid studio exec who is thinking of you as a cash cow....to forbid you to cut your hair during the 6 month break in filming....and be a little Effron Marketing puppet...when shooting has already been completed and there's no reason for you not to cut your hair....

The fact that they did a 180 degree turn shows they only look at the approval rating on their little sheet of paper, on their little desk.

There are plenty of puppets towing the line.......It's obvious no one wants this from Rob or he'd not have the fan base he does :)

No, I disagree respectfully. He choose to be an actor. That profession demands certain things from you and causes your life to change in ways completely alien to most other professions. If he didn't want the attention or demands of the field, then he should of become an engineer or something.
But look at models, they can't change their look before a job they've been selected for. Look at a doctor's life where they are on 24 he on call, totally disrupting their life. Look at a firefighter or solider who are away from their family and their physical state is crutial to their job. What about a singer, just getting dental jobs done is a huge deal.

We have costs involved with our jobs. Things are asked of us that we'd rather not do, or can be painful. It is just life.

We all have responsibilities. Sure, the execs are in it for the money. But isn't every business person? They have to look at the bottom line. That's just life. The problem is that society as a whole has determined they are not responsible for there actions. No matter what motivated the execs, no matter if it was stupid, he should be respectful and thankful for a job. There are so many out there hurting and hungery and he's hurt over someone telling him he can't cut his hair right now. It's all kind of petty and junior highish to me.

We'll just agree to diagree. I do understand what your saying. However i think when you have a job...be it acting or whatever...yes you have responsibilities up to certain point. But there is a line. You've sold a lot of yourself to get there, but not everything and your basic right to make your own decisions and decide how you look, who you date, what you eat etc.....remember we're talking on down time from the actual filming..Where would the line be drawn...does he get to make any decisions at all?

And yes the world a terrible place and dreadful thing happen to people everywhere, but we're only really covering this particular subject on NMM.

I get it. He thinks his "rights" were being violated. But like I said, it's part of the job, part of the industry he's chosen to work in. Real violation of rights is in unnamed countries where little girls are bought and sold as wives and sex slaves, the Jewish nation being slaughtered and jailed, etc etc. What are degrading ourselves too, that we can't deal with any kind of boss, any kind of restraint on ourselves because it wasn't self inflicted? This doesn't have to do with hair, it's a bigger issue that apparently is very unpopular.

Hey, look... I'm not trying to be the bad guy here. Sure, it is totally within his rights to do his hair the way he wants, but remember... he is under contract for a certain appearance for 3 movies. Lets put 3 inches of hair in perspective... there are WAY more injustices and personal rights violations out there. Being told you shouldn't cut your hair (because it is how Edward is protrayed in the books, and he is in the middle of 3 movies) is acceptable. Its not about who he dates, that is over the line. But like I said, he chose a profession where the boss needs you to look a certain way for the job. If he doesn't like it, he should choose another profession. I'm not talking about smoking, or dating or anything else. Lets just have some perspective. :) BTW- I am so glad we can have a nice, calm discussion about all this. It makes me happy that we can do that.

The funny thing about hair is...you can cut it...and it grows back! So really, if the boy wants to cut it, it's his hair - he has to wake up to it in the morning! Personally, I think he can pull off either really short or really long hair. I'm personally diggin' the black, slicked-back Dali look :D

I always feel a bit bad for Rob. It seems like there is a ridiculous amount of pressure on him from studio heads and fans and especially himself.

OMG...... I knew it was shorter than in it was Twilight when he did the ET interview but i never saw this one when it was 'freshly' cut. The irony..... I am sure he did it to take the attention away fr/ his hair bcuz all the ladies are always screaming, "it's so sexy." And now the short hair is getting all of this attention. It craps me up that the reason he cut it was to be a rebel. I remember when I first saw the pictures I was like oh no! (I prefer him with the longer locks.) And then I was a little worried if it would grow back in time for shooting of NM. But then I read the reason he did it was to be a rebel agains the studio (Go Rob they shouldn't control your hair for pete's sake!) and I was totally fine with it. I'm glad to see that it's grown back & that sexy Rob/Edward is back for NM!

I like it better short. It was getting to be a bit much. And yes, it was making his head look way too big. The short crop fits his body much better and it doesn't distract from his face.

I liked it short because of that too (you can see his face easier). I thought it was getting too long, but right now, I think it's the perfect length. But I don't feel that the studio should have a say in the way he presents himself after filming. He's his own person, not some brand.

i, personally, like shorter hair. long hair can get on my nerves. but im not going to go up to a guy and tell him that i don't like his hair LOL. and who would do that to Rob...his "people" are silly for being so contradicting in what they want him to look like. but whatver, let him do what he does. he will be adored by the many no matter how he looks right? =)

At the time, it made it sound like they got mad at him only because they were scared his hair wouldn't be long enough in time for filming. They had every right to be nervous about that. He was being paid to look a certain way (to play Edward) after all. Any other reason they didn't want him to cut it (to please the fans) is stupid.

I agree with you...BUT hair doesn't grow out again overnight so I understood the studio being scared. Edward has to look a certain way, afterall.

It's sort of like when actors have to gain or lose weight or dye their hair or whatever in order to portray a certain part... I mean geez they're being paid to do it so it shouldn't be that big of a deal of that's what the role requires.
