I rented it on IFC Festival Direct. Here's a review I posted on another site:

First off, I should say, if you are not really into Indie Film, this might seem rather slow to you. I personally love Indie and Foreign films and rather enjoyed this. It is funny and heartfelt. At first Art (Robert's character) seems like a privileged but pathetic loser. He's not really good and anything and he has no real ambitions. But I never disliked the character because he is quirky in his neurotic behavior. By the end of the film, though, my heart was really tearing for him and I felt like he had a small but significant triumph at the end. I did enjoy the movie and compared to other Indies I've seen lately I'd give it an 8 out of 10 on a movie level. Of course, I think I give Rob a 10!! And this is why, in the film he isn't groomed and made to appear as lovely as Edward or even Cedric Diggory. He is actually rather nerdy in appearance, so I didn't dwell on his beauty. I watched his performance of Art and it was SOOOO different than Edward! Art is insecure, awkward and (as I said) neurotic. Not the self-assured, graceful and powerful Edward from Twilight. And Rob seemed to fit as naturally into this characters shoes as he did in Edwards!!

I was so thrilled to see his range and diversity! Plus, it was nice to hear Rob speak in his own lovely British accent! I'm really glad I saw it and can't wait to see Rob tackle other roles. Because as much as I love and adore Edward (both the book and film adaptation) I just love and wish so much good for Robert as a person. I don't want him to feel pigeon-holed into the character of Edward and I want his career to flourish beyond Twilight. Although he will be the one and only Edward for me, I was glad to see that I could watch Rob in a movie and NOT see Edward. As I watched the character of Art in HTB, it wasn't Edward that I was seeing, but Robert. Like I said, if you like Indie Film, you will probably enjoy this. Heck, you might like it even if you don't! But there isn't a typical storyline of rising and falling action, it's more slice of life and character development! All and all, a thumbs up! Way to go Rob, can't wait to see you in Little Ashes as soon as it comes to my town!

i want to see this movie so badly.. and asap. it's so cool to hear that many of you have enjoyed it..makes me wanna see it even more.

I have cable & rented the movie on Demand. I enjoyed it. The first hour of the movie was a bit slow and had some funny quirks here and there. Rob's accent is understandable, but there are some English accents in there that are just too thick, I had to turn the volume on my televison all the way just to hear what some of the others were saying. The last thirty minutes of the movie will throw you for a loop, well it did for me and my mouth even dropped open in surprise. I'm not sure what else to say without spoiling it for people, so I wont say anymore, just if you get the chance to see it do, its expensive to rent (I had to pay 6.99 for only 24 hours), but totally worth it. Rob Pattinson did amazing portraying the character and he even won an award for this movie.

Did anyone notice that in this interview he sounds like he losing his accent? He sounds so american.

It's very sweet, funny & sad. Rob of course is amazing as Art, and Mike & Johnny are very funny as well. When Rob's character Art cries, it rips your heart out.

Hey Nix, saw ST again last night in IMAX. Its funny, exciting, and damn sexy at parts. Definitely worth seeing even if your not a trekkie.

I just can't wait to see this film... I totally love quirky brit films... especially the low budget indie type. Anyone seen Bad mother's handbook? I'm sure tons of you have. I found that to be... well a lot more than i was expecting. Not just for his part as nervously disastrous daniel, but the entire plot of the movie. The whole adoption thing really effected me....

I saw the Bad Mother's Handbook & he rocked in that movie!! He played the sexiest geek ever!!! (yes its quite possible :).

talented is an understatement....rpatz has such enormous potential that he could basically perform any role given to him. His acting skills are limitless...thats quite impressive. I was extremely impressed when he had stated in an interview that he would rather audition for a part, instead of getting it automatically through his agent. Absolutely hard working and ambitious.....He knows what he wants, and he's going to get it...the rpatz way....

I want to see the movie, I thought the trailer looked interesting. Everyone says it's good. I don't like Robert Pattinson, that's my only problem. But this looks good, unfortuneatly, I don't have cable anymore (failing economy).

I was able to see it at a indy film festival in Florence AL back in March. It's actually a really good movie. You feel bad for Art but at the same time you are laughing at him. He just needs a hug and a smack on the back of the head lol

I thought the movie was really good, especially for a small indie project. The movie was very raw, and what I loved was that the end wasn't filled with a feeling of falseness. I mean, you cant honestly expect Art to get up at the end and be an amazing musician and him be absolutely perfect, BUT he is feeling better about him self, and that's the part that makes you feel good. I personally thought it was great! Cant wait til it comes out on DVD which the official How To Be website says will be sometime in the fall.

dude, im pretty sure none of them use those social networking pages. think of how buisy they are all the time with filming and stuff. they would be getting like 500 plus messages a day, you honsetly think they have the time to read through and reply to all of them?

Ashley Greene has a real MySpace but I don't believe the others do individually. A friend maintains it for her according to the site. I linked to it through an interview she did.

I saw it the other day on in demend. it was hillarious! my boyfriend also thought it was funny and laughing thru the movie. then there was his youger cousin, she is 14 and a huge rob fan and twilight fan. she said it was good, but throughout the whole thing kept asking, "what did he jsut say??" and didnt laugh at all. I think she just thought it was good cause she could stare at rob and lsiten to his voice...even know she had a hard time understanding. So all in all, its a good funny movie, it had a good point to it. Watching him play the guitar was funny to me. I take this interm. guitar class as an easy elective, but ive been playing for a long time and iam pretty good at it. no one else in the class can play too well and i dont want to sound like i know what iam doing all the time so i kind of fake it and it feels akward.

He's so smart... I love the way he puts sentences together and his beautiful use of vocabulary. I think his mind makes him such a charming man. I would love to thank him for being so real.

The way Art acted in the movie was like he was 10, but sence he wasn't it was kinda weird.... and not that funny.

they have how to be on rental on comcast but its 6 dollars for 24 hours. thats 2 dollars more than any other movie for rent. i want to see it but im not going to rent it through comcast so im going to have to find another way.

I'd get netflix if I were you. For just a little more than 6 dollars a month you can get different movies all month and can keep them as long as you want :)

that's a good idea, but for some reason i love going to blockbuster and seeing all the movies...brings back memory of childhood. =)

The movie was good. You have to 'get' the whole dry-british humor thing, but if you're a fan (as I am) you'll like the movie.. then again, if you're a fan of Rob, you will love it. Only he can pull of that nerdy hairdo.

I went to Brookline, MA to see it. The movie was amazing, one of the better indie films I've seen. For what a tight budget Oliver, the director, had he did such a good job. The score was great, the acting was great.. awkward at times but it fit the characters so well. Rob did a fantastic job. I loved everything about the film, I cannot wait until it comes out on DVD! Which I think Oliver said it would be sometime this fall? I can't remember. Also, as a bonus Oliver, Joe, Mike and Johnny did a Q&A, then stood out in the lobby to sign stuff, take pictures and talk. They were incredibly nice!

Even though i've seen this interview already i really don't care, that accent of his could make anybody purr like a kitten lmao!!!!

Yes. I've seen it. It's a funny movie. Rob's character, Art, is hilarious. He doesn't know what he wants, he just knows it's not what he has. And so we watch him to try to figure out his life so that he can be happy. It has a lot quirky, but funny scenes in it. If you're a Rob fan, you'll like it. How could you not like listening to his British accent for almost 2 hours?!?! LOL

I saw it at the Orlando screening in Florida with Johnny, Mike, Oliver and Joe.

The movie was really cute - very Indie, VERRRRY low-budget and Rob is adorable as Art. I'm not gonna lie and say that it's an AMAZING movie/film and everyone should see it and everyone will love it, because honestly - I thought it was good/cute/funny, but at the end of the night I was left wanting more out of it. But! I did rent it on IFC (even after seeing it at the screening) and watched it as much as I could within my alotted 24hrs. ;)

Thanks for the review! That's about what I expected--I like these type of quirky indie flicks, but doubt I would be too interested if Rob wasn't in it. I don't have cable so guess I'll have to wait for DVD/iTunes though.....
