Though New Moon will be filmed in Montepulciano Italy, the original was set in Volterra. Fans flocking to Volterra to check out the locations from New Moon are in luck: the local tourism office has made a special map to hand out for self-guided tours of all the sights. There are also shops selling handsome New Moon themed glassware.

Sarah writes about her recent trip–

From the informaton office on the Pallazzo dei Priori you can recieve a free official New Moon Volterra map which you can follow the exact route that Bella, Alice and Edward took.

First you enter the Porta Francesco, then follow the road where Alice drove into the city, Alice then drops Bella of at the entrance to the Pallazzo, where Bella has two minutes to find Edward, Bella then finds Edward in the alleyway (vicolo mazzoni). Edward and Bella are then led through the streets to the Viti house ( this is fun because the basement is all set up for Twilight fans and there is a special wall for them to write messages on). Edward and Bella then run through the dark archway leaving the city (Porta all Arco)

On the way around there are shops where you can buy Twilight stuff, we bought a fewTwilight necklaces and a Twilight apple.
