Here’s a vid that summarizes what’s been going on in Montepulciano, Italy with the construction of a new fountain to be used in New Moon.

Shire from TwilightItalia says–

Essentially, in this article we say that yesterday, the Mayor of Montepulciano was in the town square (where the fountain is being built) in person and it seems like they were working on security.

The most interesting (and strange) fact is that our friend found a lot of road signs around town saying that some streets will be closed on friday, May 22nd, from 6:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.

Does this mean filming will start a bit early, before the supposed May 25th date?

    If they're closing some streets then maybe they will just be shooting the stunt driver racing up the road in the yellow Porche.... Ashley said before that there was no way they were actually going to let her drive! LOL If I had lots of money... and didn't have to work... and had my passport updated... I would SO be on my way to Italy!

    Hi all, I live in Montepulciano. The troupe is adding a (fake and wood) fountain in middle of the square and crowd of workers, fans and others are running around. On friday they will film on front of my house, I received and exposed some red flag on my home front.
    But the interesting thing is ... that fountain really was there many years ago ! See (cut and paste on your browser):

    I pictured the piazza bigger. Hmm... it always felt bigger. Maybe it's because it took like 5 pages for Bella to get across and the anticipation made it a football field in my head!

    yes! the fountain! this is the only requirement i personally had for the italy shot when she's running. she HAS to go through the fountain because it's one of the most dramatic things she does to get to him and it would be beautiful visually. so exciting!!! :D

    It'd be nice if they could leave the fountain up at the end of filming to say thanks to the city and of course so we can visit and take photos of this wonderful place. Wish I could be there during filming.

    And now that I see the color, I will buy a large tub of foundation in that color, paint myself completely, hold a marble fish, and stand in the center of the fountain, spitting water, so that I may view the filming from a perfect spot.

    no, but I think the plan might be ruined when a mermaid pushes bella out of the way to get to the shirtless vampire waiting in the shadows. LOL. Actually, just keep a brown wig in the shell of your bikini top and put it on - nobody will know the difference. As if we are going to be looking at bella at that point anyhow. LOL
