Soooo glad Taylor clears up the confusion that the phasing scene in the trailer is Jacob going for Laurent but it's not. It's the scene where Jacob and Paul get into it.

The scene where Laurent and Bella meet we should be seeing six wolves...it's Bella's first meeting with the wolf pack.

Some of the scenes just HAVE to be dead on and these two in particular have to be right.

I can't belive this is what they came up with... they had millions literally MILLIONS of dollors to make this work, and they came up with a wolf that looks like a cartoon and look like a cuddly stuffed toy. I am so dissapointed.

Sorry I didn't like the wolf effect at all, it remainded me the movie Garfield, don´t know why. Not scary, it looked to fake in my opinion, I expected more of a real wolf appeareance, not so "animated". The scene also needs to look more, humm ... creepy, to much light in it, what happened to the blueish tone we saw in twilight?

The transformation is great but the wolf looks to cartoonish. I think Summit needs to create another wolf that looks better. The rest of the trailer is great!

Stop complaining. The movie isn't done yet and I doubt Chris Weitz had any time to make the wolves look the best possible with that tight filming schedule.

I hope the wolf is still under construction -- it looked like a cartoon/animated character. If this movie has such a big budget, how about getting some real effects? I was disappointed with the trailer, except the birthday party -- that looked great.

Well, for all of you unsatisfied people...what do you suggest? Where are you going to find a wolf that is russet in color that grows into the size of a horse over the NM, Eclipse, and BD? If you find one, rope him and drag him to Summit so they can put him in the film! Otherwise, YES, it has to be animated!!!!!!!!!! Unless you can fursplode into a big bad wolf yourself. Come on, people, be reasonable....also remember that it is the 1st of June and the movie is not due out 'til Nov. 20...DON'T YOU THINK THEY ARE GOING TO CLEAN IT UP A BIT? And dazzle us even more? ALSO, the trailer with Jacob in it was 3 scenes spliced together....jeez...

I absolutely agree with you Jessica. The movie is completely far away from even being finished. I am sure they put these scenes together just to give everyone a taste. That is what teaser trailers are for. I am sure they will be cleaning it up a bit more. The movie I am sure needs alot of editing. Just be patient gurls! Everything will look outstanding in the end! And I dont think the wolf looks DAT fake like some people are saying, I think it looks good and I am sure it will look even better. It could be worst but I had a good feeling about how the wolves were going to look like since the director is the same from the Golden Compass and the animals in that movie in my opinion looked awesome.

I know that they are going to go above and beyond and considering it's the very first trailer they did very well and showed us some great variety of footage!

I am extremely happy with what they have put together. I am glad the wolf looks amazingly realistic. They made the colors looks great also, I am glad they stuck to that, I hope they do the same with the rest of the wolf pack. I love how right at the end of the video his ears pull back against his head. Looks like he is really pissed and about to attack. He looks cute and cuddly! It looks really good, epically Taylor. All I can say about him, is WOW! The wolf looks a bit too animated for my taste, but I don't really care too much about that because it's Twilight for goodness sakes! Cant wait until November! And, also for the soundtrack, since the first one was so good.

I just noticed something.
With Laurent Bella is wearing a gray sweater and her orange backpack and with Jake she is wearing a brown jacket and no backpack.
So that could mean that he's attacking someone else because when Bella falls you can see that she has different clothes.
So, for those of you who were worried that Bella would find out about Jake like that, I guess it's not true.
And, Taylor did talk about filming the scene when he climbs up to her room, so I guess in that scene he was attacking Paul or someone else.
Because Bella doesn't find out about Jacob until later and when you see her running away from Laurent she is probably running away from the wolves that come when Laurent is about to kill her!
I think it sounds about right because you can't have different clothes in one scene. XD

Yes the scene were he transforms is the scene where he is protecting Bella from Paul. He actually confirmed that in an interview lastnight at the awards.

Some ppl need to really read the book all question will be answered there...no cheating ppl...if you are really into the movie then you need to read the book....its not rocket science....Now...that i got that off my chest just wanted to say that this scene with jacob turning into a wolf is all off....don't get me wront the CG is amazing and i love it...but its not true to the book...bella is in the woods near the meadow if i am correct...and she sees the wolves...they don't phase in front of her....she doesnt even know its jacob...cuz he later goes to her room in the middle of the nite to make her remember what he said at the beach......UGH...i hate when they really change things like this is makes the story go out of wack!!! As long as they have the retarded screen writer the movie with not 75% true to the book....

thats two different scenes..i thought the same thing at first..but than i watched it again..when jacob phases into the wolf in the trailer. its when hes bout to fight paul not when laurent is bout to kill her.when bella is with laurent she has a yellow back pack on and is wearing a blueish jacket but in the other scene when bella is running towards jacob [[before he phases]] she doesnt have a pack pack on and she is wearing a brown jacket..did that clear everything up for you?

They're two different scenes put together for the trailer. The Laurent scene and the scene where Paul tries to attack her.

What I like: the fact that you can still see part of Jake's human leg and arm; and true to the book his human eyes remained as he "shifted" to his wolf form.

He is actually very pretty, somehow, I will create a tee-shirt with this image, my daughter is working on it for me.

I'm completely impressed with the wolf! I was soo afriad they were going to make them some hideous werewolves, but they are just like a I imagined! Just huge wolves! Hopefully they will remember that Wolf Jacob ends up being the biggest wolf!

Jake cut his hair after his first shift; shorter hair means a less messy wolf coat, and the fact that his body temp is a steady 100 plus degrees, short hair is temperature-wise, cooler.

I like ALL of it! I think the wolf tranformation looks amazing...I think some fans are forgeting that this is a fantasy story being adapted into a movie. You know people really can't turn into wolves ;) so the visual of the transformation on the screen is well done! I'm really excited. I can't wait to see the whole pack... When I first saw the trailer on MTV Movie Awards I was not that impressed with the wolf. After watching it a few more times I am ABSOLUTELY impressed and am looking forward to November! They all did a great job and it will be will worth the wait!!

When I first saw the trailer I was just blown away they even were able to incorporate the wolf into it considering they JUST got done filming the movie. I was on the phone with my sister during the trailer and afterward we were both screaming and oh my godding. I was thrilled. The next trailer is going to kick ass, wolf pack and Volturi, yeah baby.

I think its great, especially with the clothes ripping to shreds when he explodes. And if ya look closely, you see him start changing with his head, and then it ripples all the way to his feet. It is so sweet!

I agree, at first I was like "ARE YOU KIDDING ME THAT WOLF LOOKS LIKE CRAP!" but now I think they did a good job, the movie is going to be awesome!

I think the transformation looks really good, when you consider the budget. Good job. Personally, I don't like CGI, so in my opinion, real wolf would be better - just like in the Twilight flashbacks - but that's just my problem, because I am really critical, when it comes to CGI, all looks fake to me. But this one is not that bad. The moment of explosion into wolf looks really cool.
I think this was like one of the most interesting parts of the teaser. You can kill me, but overall, I liked the Twilight teaser as much as this one, maybe even better. I don't know, but when I saw Twilight teaser and trailer I was totally thrilled. This one left me kinda cold - except for the part of transformation.
I simply love Twilight - I like the blue/green colour screen filter, because I really feel the cold of the Forks, when I watch the movie. Now, the New Moon has something like orange colour screen filter, so everything looks really warm, the ocean looks like from the Pirates of the Carribean. Because of the orange colour, the vampires look more human. In Twilight they don't look like human at first sight. And I could continue forever.
To make long story short - the trailer didn't convince me. I love Twilight with all it's flaws and changes in story, because it has the right atmosphere and spirit of the story - at least for me. And I admire the job of CH. You can stone me now, if you want. I just want to speak my opinion, because I am not convinced by CW. no offence to anyone.

well i guess i know what you mean..........and im sure no one is gonna stone u lol..........any who, when i heard that CW was going to be the director of new moon i was like ok....... but i really think that he did a great job so for.........a lot of people said that he messed up the golden compass(which i think was a book right?) but i really can't wait to see what he has done to new moon....if i may say.......... i felt as though CH really didnt stick to the book, but the movie was still great.....sorry for getting off the matter of hand.....all in all........maybe when we see a new trailer months from now, CW will have convinced you.

Thank you. I just sometimes feel sorry for CH. I think she did a great job, considering the budget, weather, shooting-time, but almost everyone here seems to hate her. I saw the movie first and I understood it immediately, then I read the books and then I loved the movie even more, because I saw, that the movie has the right essence of the book, which is more important, in my opinion, than if the meadow looked right or if the cullens house looked right. I am little affraid, that the New Moon would be too much like Hollywood blockbuster, (Twilight looked more like an independent movie, which did fit better, in my opinion, because it's a small love story, not another epic movie), it will have great CGI and everything, but it won't have the atmosphere.

You're absolutely right. The CG effects alone are blowing Twilight away. I don't even think the wolf looks fake per se, he looks sentient and intelligent, and that alone puts him beyond reality. I'll take a too-aware wolf over the running and climbing business from Twilight any day (I was having aweful flashbacks from the Spider-Man movie from the '60s or 70s).

So... enjoyed the trailer. Loved the transformation. I'm 33, my mom was watching with me and when she saw the transformation she said "Whoa!!!" She's never heard of Twilight, doesn't know what it is about, but when she saw that she was intrigued. It was pretty entertaining to see her reaction.

My friend watched Twilight, but she never read the books. I sent her the link to the trailer and her response was, (and I quote), "OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!! WE HAVE TO GO SEE IT!!!!!!"

And then she asked me who the dark-haired kid was. I was like, "Well, I'm pretty sure he's a werewolf." Lol.

I think alot of people that are thinking the wolf is not big enough are forgetting that when Jacob first started changing into a wolf he was one of the smaller ones of the pack and grew alot throughout the next books. So maybe the wolf will get bigger in the next movies.

Yeah you do have a point but they should make the transformation alot scarier because the book described these wolves differently. Then again we have to remember that it still needs to be cleaned up until november 20. Let's just hope that they can take all these comments into consideration and make Jacobs transformation as close to the book as possible.

Jacob learns not to transform in haste, carries a pair cut-off jeans, or shorts with him that attaches to his hind leg with a rubber tie; remember the wolf keeps his human mind and can perform some human tasks, like tucking away clothing for shifting back to human.

I think there is no need for that leaf.

Me, too. It looked like a shrek character I was half expecting Fiona to barrel out of the woods.
I believe it may just be a mock-up, though. THere's no way that wolf would pass as realistic or scary and Chris is supposed to be a CGI expert. I"m sure something much more realistic and frightening is going to be on its way.
(ANd if not, i'm going to hunt whoever is responsible down and show them realistic and frightening)

Yep, I agree... I expected more too, but I think that they will look more 'finished' and more 'realistic' when the movie is done in it's entirety.
After looking at this for an hour, making this GIF... they did a good job :)

I've noticed that not all trailers end up being from the final movie cut so
hopefully they will fine tune the wolf.

I've been reading tons of fanfic lately, mostly going off recommendations from others. I'd love to hear your list. I'll send you an email later today. I've read a couple of the stories you mentioned already (including the one with the best Superbowl half-time show ever!). =) Just read Dark Side of the Moon yesterday and it made me cry more than New Moon. Some of these fanfic writers are really great!
