I think people are just trying to live vicariously and since we want to be the ppl dating the actor/actress and can't we hope they'll do it for us.. That must be strange as an actor to have chemistry there and then have it go nowhere. I've never been there but I'd love to visit. The United States is so huge.
My favorite autumn spot would have to be a little town called Cotignac.
It's in Provence, France. The colors are so rich and deep. Absolutely
breathtaking. I just love the French countryside in general. In the US I'd
say my favorite spot I have seen for foliage is upstate New York. The woods
there look like a work of art. *sighs* Ok, now you've given me another
reason to countdown to November : )

Ooh, Upstate NY=pretty. I've originally hated, then loved every place I've lived. It's easy to be happy in CA.. the sun is always out (in southern) But what's also cool is that in the hills during rainy season so many wildflowers pop up in the grass that it changes the colors of the hillsides/driving medians. One week it will be blazing orange, another week purply blue. I'd never seen anything like it. Incredible. I need season changes, though. I'm a moody person and need changing seasons to be moody in. lol

I totally understand why they're asking those questions and they will never go away, well not until they get in to relationships or what ever....and I saw the interview before, if that's the same one...they did ask her a lot more.
Anyway, I think Rob and Kristen have something special when they are next to each other. People just can't help it. Even Kristen's boyfriend couldn't stop them with assumptions that they are together. I think it's more than just wanting their favorite characters ending together in real life. They just genuenly look great together out side the movie. That doesn't mean anything in terms of their relationship, but I get it why it intrigues people.
And also a lot of things happened or didn't happen like seeing her with Michael and that thing after MTV movie awards....media knows what is interesting in gossip world. It won't change soon.

We all accept the actors they choose, because there's nothing we can do.

I wonder if she's mentioned that she auditioned because she is almost sure she'll get it, or just to get support. She seemed like she doesn't have a clue though.

She does have some gorgeous hair! I just have never seen her as a Leah type. I am sure the casting will do a good job. I mean, hello, look what they gave us for the pack.

lol. I completely loved and adored Leah. Probably because I can relate to the character so well. I have more respect for Leah, that she got back up without assistance, and kept moving. Sure she was bitter afterwards, but I would be too! I would plot revenge even if wolfie mojo imprinting caused it.

Actually I can relate to her because I was in similar situation as she was in terms of loving someone and that someone ending up with not a friend but someone we both knew...it's just some other things that I didn't like. But to me it's like that with all characters, I generaly like them, some more, some less, but of course I can't like everything about them. In any case I try to put myself in their shoes.

Kilcher (I just can't bother with her first name haha) has an amazing hair, I have long hair myself and I don't know if I would be brave enough to chop it off. It's my shield from the world haha.
I believe that they see that something in auditions that none of us can see...so they seem to know what they're doing. But I just hope they don't rush it, that's all.

Oh I certainly understand where you are coming from about characters. Generally I have ill feelings toward Bella, but there are aspects I liked about her. Even my beloved characters I had a few issues with.

I do think Kilcher will be a front runner for Leah. I just hope my girl Crystle is too. I swear she looks exactly how I imagined Leah. Hair could really be an issue, but they could just provide a wig to the lucky lady playing my girl.

Imperfections are great for characters. It proves they are not perfect. It shows them as human despite the glittery windchimes and fur.

I don't know who I would want to portray Leah and Seth. I'll have to look up Crystle Lightning. Saw Q'Orianka in New World.. she's close, but maybe not mean-looking enough. She looks sweet.

I wonder if they're casting for Sue Clearwater.. I vote for Tantoo Cardinal, if they are.

If you listen to the podcast, she has tons of passion for the part, and really "gets" Leah.
I think that is soo much more important, than how we think someone should "look" for the part, which is what some people have been saying about her. I think she looks great for Leah.
We have to remember that MANY people didn't want Rob for Edward, and that turned out pretty dang awesome!

I already have Tyler Posey in my mind as Seth and I'm trying to banish his beautiful brown eyes far beyond the forest, so I don't have it set in my mind that he is and then get a horrible gut-wrench when it doesn't happen. Tay wasn't what I imagined for Jake, but now that he plays him, he is Jake for me, so I'll just try not to get too hooked on an image and accept whoever it is. The've casted fantastically so far.

Ok chili peppa, here it is.. not super well put together, but some thoughts..
First of all, although I like Edward very much..him being perfect and beautiful and dazzling, I empathized more with Jacob, because not all of us are born beautiful and fast and always sexy and exciting, so I totally related to Jake just struggling to put himself out there and be as much to Bella as he was able to give... which unfortunately wasn't enough.

I mean no offense to Steph. Meyer, but I was deeply disappointed in Jake imprinting on Nessie.. at first the imprinting sounded so neat. Who wouldn't want a soul mate that is fixated on you and loyal to you for life? But then I started thinking about what makes love valuable, and I think the imprinting was way too easy and I felt that it cheated Jake out of a lot of emotions that would have given him growth as a person and his dignity back.

I mean here is this 17 year old boy/man/wolf who has been slogging it out fighting for and standing by a very indecisive Bella who needs his help, but can't make the same sacrifices for him, and will drop him in a heartbeat it the choice was between Jake and Edward. And then after the torment of having her reject him, being around to see her totally dazzled by another guy, *BAM* Imprinting. And nothing matters anymore?



I felt like Stephenie just sort of threw him a bone, like "bang" here you guy, now your insticts have kicked in hardcore and you can have this abnormally beautiful girl who will be everything to you forever with no work. The End."


I felt like he went from a go-down fighting, kicking, and screaming wolf to a whipped dog and lost a bit of his Jakeness. I would have liked to see someone have to fight as much for Jacob's affections as he had had to fight for Bella's the whole time.


Also, would I want someone to be totally devoted to me because some instinct kicked in that wouldn't allow them to be otherwise, or would I want them to have other choices and to have chosen me over everything else?... Don't you think it would be so much more valuable to be loved over other ppl, knowing they could have picked someone else.


Love is sticking with someone despite their flaws...it's easy to love an Edward because he's so perfect and beautiful.. but the rest of us have to deal with ppl who say stupid things and act selfish and don't do things for the most noble reasons and to love someone in spite of the fact that they're flawed and selfish and don't always love you back the way you should be loved back is a very very incredible thing..
Imprinting seemed too automatic. If the person seems almost perfect in your eyes, how much work is required to love them?

AND.. last thing..
Nessie bothered me, partly because I did not at ALL find it "cute" that Jake ended up as a relative. It seemed, again, like a cheap, 'well, let's just throw Jake something to keep him in the family" thing. And also because again, she's too perfect. She has all the beauty of both her parents, ages at the exact rate for all to be wonderful, is kind, cheerful, talented, can jump feet in the air to catch a snowflake, shows ppl what she sees, and everyone loves her.. *puke* I mean where are the flaws? How do you relate to someone like that other than worshipping them?

I totally understand where you are coming from in many ways. I just think we look at imprinting differently.

I may be wrong, but I don't see imprinting as "just instinct". I see it as something more, and of COURSE our darlin' Jacob deserves more than that.

I think of imprinting as the wolves finding their soulmate, but it is much more obvious than the way us "normal" people would figure out who are soulmate is.

The reason I think this, is Edward says that "Sam feels the same thing for Emily, as I feel for you." (or something to that effect).

I think that there are certain people that God (at least that's what I call him), plans for us to spend our lives with.
In the real world, I think that is most obvious in the mother/child relationship.

I am an only child, and I was never around babies that much growing up, so I was always afraid that when I had my own baby, I might not be a very good mom.
But the second that baby was in my arms "gravity moved", as Jake would say.

I knew that I loved that baby in a more special way than I had ever loved anyone on this Earth. I loved him more than life itself.I knew that I would be able to do whatever was necessary to love, protect, nurture and care for my little human being.
(I can relate to Bella in BD!)

Now, in "couples'" relationships, this is much more difficult, because there is too many "power struggles" and other cr*p to have that kind of unconditional love for our partners.
(most unfortunately for most of us...)

This unconditional love does happen between couples, but I think it is rare and it usually happens over time, not instantly.

We love our partners, it is just not as easily unconditional as it is with our children.
We expect a give and take relationship with them, not an unconditional one.

What I see imprinting is to the wolves is that instant feeling of recognition of this special person, and unconditional love that is kind've like we feel for our babies.
Gravity moves for them, and there whole life becomes centered.
They are whatever there imprint needs them to be.

I believe if they hadn't have become wolves, they probably would have fallen in love with their imprint anyway, it just wouldn't have been instantaneous and so unconditional.
For example, Jared and Kim. He didn't really notice her until he imprinted on her. She had a huge crush on him, though.
I think eventually, he WOULD have noticed her in a special way, he was just a teenager and was not ready emotionally to do it yet.
But when he imprinted, BAM that was it.

Their imprints are their soulmates, the imprinting just made it instaneously obvious to them.
Their instinct kicks in when they have to do certain things for them, like not lying to them, etc., but I think some form of love would have happened anyway, the imprinting just hastened and magnified it.

I also believe that we have "soul groups". People who are also supposed to be in our lives, but just not as intimately as our "soulmate". I say this because I understand what you are saying about SM just wanting an excuse to keep Jacob with the vamps.
I think that is true to a great degree.
But I also think it is true, because she truly believes that Jake and Bella HAVE to be in each others lives, just not as a "couple".
They are too important to each other to not be. They are not just best friends, they are more than best friends.
I would say that they are in the same "soul group".

And about Reneesme. Yes, she is too perfect, but I think as she gets older, she will start to show some flaws. After all, she is half human, how could she not?
And she did show one, in that she is quite demanding, just like a baby should be.
So maybe with time, she will be more "worthy" of our Jake. More human and lovable.

Anyway, hope my thoughts on this aren't TOO cheesy and sappy!
