I think that Coldplay's music works well with the Twilight Saga, especially for New Moon. I have faith that the New Moon team will choose amazing music for the movie. Personally, I wasn't that happy with the first soundtrack. I loved Iron & Wine's contribution, as well as The Black Ghosts', and I think both of Paramore's worked well too. I loved Rob Pattinson's too. I don't think I need to say that Muse's contribution was amazing because you can't have a Twilight soundtrack without Muse. (They BETTER be on the soundtrack for New Moon). But overall, some of the other stuff that was on it, I wasn't happy with it. I hope the second one is better. And I REALLY hope the score is a million times better than what Carter Burwell did. Chris has already said he has chosen someone who he has worked with before, I think it's the same guy that did the music for The Golden Compass. That music was beautiful. so let's hope it works with New Moon!

I agree with every word, i really hope they make it through every OST of the movies, Stephenie already said that they were a big inspiration for the whole saga so i hope the people in charge of the OST put at least one of their songs in every movie and don't think like "they're already in the first one, let's not use them".

Personally i think "Sing for absolution" fits New Moon.

personally i think that what carter burwell created was great, however they did not use enough music throughout the movie

if you watch any of the harry potter movies they have some form of music throughout 95% of the movie and it really adds to the entire mood of each scene

so while i think it might be good they changed composers, the new one and chris will hopefully incorporate more score music in addition to the other songs like (like by HOPEFULLY muse & maybe coldplay)

I also think that the Twilight OST is amazing and Carter Burwell did a great job... i love almost every song of it, and it's great that there are a lot of unknown bands and it'll be so much better if they keep it like that in every movie but at the same time i think that Muse fits every felling of all the books so they should keep them in all the movies.

And i agree with you, they should have more music through the whole movie to create the moods, but i guess that the movie itself creates a really deep mood so if you put too much music it'll feel excessive... idk, i guess it has to be used wisely

It will only be good if its a song of Parachutes or A Rush of Blood to the Head. The new albums suck. They should definitely have more Radiohead. When I saw Twilight for the first time, I thought it was mediocre until Radiohead chimed in on the final scene. The movie regained all of it's credibility in that last minute :). True Love Waits, Thinking about You, Videotape, All I Need, and the list goes on and on. In fact, the whole soundtrack should be Radiohead!.....just kidding

I would love for Coldplay to be featured on the New Moon soundtrack. I absolutely LOVE Coldplay and think most of their songs fit perfectly into the Twilight Saga!

Thank you! I dont think that they have EVER written a song that's heartfelt or full enough pain to be on the NM soundtrack. All their songs are superficial "woe is me" crap... Like Emo music for the Adult Easy Listening crowd. Totally wrong.

Okay, I'm a fan of Coldplay and Chris Martin (THE BRITISH!!! and the fact that he has a daughter named APPLE!!!!!!!!!), but I wasn't familer with the song 'The Scientist'. So I youtube-ed it and watched the video, but mostly listened to the lyrics.
'The Scientist' I would say works well with the New Moon story. I'm not surprised it helped Stephenie with her writer's block. I say excellent choice, excellent band, but, naturally, not everyone realizes that Coldplay is awesome :]

The sound tracks aren't really songs to do with the mood though. Its like songs that might be playing in the background like in Jakes garage from his radio or in the credits. So you like won't see any songs during the break up scene or when shes running to save Edward or when the the volturi are deciding the fate of Edward and Bella (all though that would be funny. Some cheesy old song going on in the background while they are discussing whether to kill Edward and Bella or not.) If a song was going to be played during any of the scenes then we probably wouldn't actually hear any of the lyrics. Just instrumental like Spotlight and Tremble for my Beloved from Twilight.
