I've always been a big fan of Denzel Washington, but I think what he did (introducing his daughter who "wants to be an actress") was so tacky. Whatever happened to trying to make it as an actress on your own, based on your talent? There have been many children of famous actors and actresses who even change their name so they won't get special treatment and parts just because of who their parents are. I know that he must love his daughter, but c'mon how about teaching a little self-reliance?

I totally agree. I mean it was weird that he even brought her out on stage to present with him, because the MTV VMA stage isn't exactly the appropriate time and place to announce that your daughter wants to be an actress. She should go out there on her own and seek work rather than using her father's name and career. However, it might have been his idea so I cannot blame her for his actions. Also could she even see behind those bangs because they seemed to cover her eyes?!

Am willing to bet you anything that the person that wrote this comment doesn't have family that loves them or got one but they don't give a damn. Any parent that wants their children to do better will use whatever they can for them to do better. Like their name. Like their money if they don't have the name or just plan support. Make it on their own. Your so stupid. Denzel didn't make it on his own. Some director gave him a chance to prove himself. Guess what...it may not have been his parents but it was someone. Denzel is a stud muffin. He went to Walter Reed in DC (An Army hospital) and toured around and met the wounded soldiers. Then he toured a Fisher house and was so touched by the service they provide for soldiers and families, he asked how much it cost to build one and wrote out the check right there on the spot. (Fisher houses are houses for families of wounded soldiers to stay in while the soldier tries to recover) He's an awesome dude.

Has anyone watch True Blood on HBO? I heard how good it was, so I rented the first 4 episodes over the weekend. There are soooooo many similarities to Twilight that it made me want to barf. ...not to mention that it just seems so cheezy. Am I just being to picky because I'm comparing it to Twilight, or does it suck as much as I think it does? The only thing creative us that the vamps went public and can buy bottled blood....everything else is copied.

I never seen it and my cousin told me about it an said its good and that I should watch bcuz she know how I love Twilight, but if its trying to be like twilight, i don’t know if I want to watch it and have you seen the previews to that new show coming on the CW " Vampire Diaries" everyone is trying to jump on the Vampire Train, and they cant copy the uniqueness of the Twilight Saga and the Vampires

The Vampire Diaries was written in the early 90's. If you read the books you would see that they are nothing like Twilight. Yes there are a few small similarities but since the books were written so long before Twilight you can't say they copied SM. If anything it's the other way around.

I know people who really like it but I don't care for it. It's sleezy and violent and the lead guy does nothing for me. I don't see it as a copy but as something riding on Twilight's (vampire) popularity. I hear the books are better.

true blood is based on books that were out before twilight, so Smeyer probably got the idea or some characteristics from them(wouldn't surprise me) there are a lot of similarities btw twilight and other movies and books)
