Eclipse PosterDespite reports that Eclipse will begin filming in August, no exact date is set in stone yet. The filming schedule is “still being drafted” according to Lainey Gossip. Also according to Lainey, the following characters have been added to the casting process–

  • Maria-”Maria found Jasper during the Southern vampire wars. At this point, Jasper was a major in the Confederate Army, and Maria was looking for humans that she could turn to vampires to create a newborn army, using the idea pioneered by Benito. After turning Jasper, she found that he was extremely useful to her, because he was able to control the emotions of the vampires around him, and make them work together. In Eclipse, Maria is described as a tiny brunette with a soft and musical voice that has a tendency to be sharp. She was able to control her thirst, though she still preyed humans’ blood. ” [1]
  • Bree-”Bree was created by Victoria as part of her newborn vampire army to avenge James’ death. She never saw Victoria, as her “assistant”, Riley, was the one who told the newborns what to do. Bree was described as beautiful and slender with short dark hair to her chin and glowing blood red eyes. She was also very young, around the age of 15 and the height was around 5′1″ and 5′3″. When she screams Bree has a high, shrill voice. [2]
  • Royce King–”Royce King II was a human who lived during the time of the Great Depression. He was engaged to Rosalie Hale for a short period of time before being killed by her. He is perceived as being quite out-spoken but is liked by Rosalie because of her vanity.” [3]

    The look on Edwards face as Jacob is lying in the tent with Bella to keep her warm....and how he's just dying to chomp on Jacob with the thoughts that Jacob is thinking to antagonize Edward.......

  • Ohhh yes!!! I love Eclipse, there are so many romantic scenes. And the big finale with the werewolves and Victoria. Bella kissing Jabob!!! And I forgot about the other scenes with Rosalie and Jasper until this article reminded me. So excited.

    Seeing the Rosalie and Jasper "stories" are going to play out is frickin awesome!! All the romance and Jacob and Victoria stuff will be great too but seeing a snip of the history of the rest of the Cullens will be so exciting. I cannot wait!
  • i think this movie can stay at PG 13 with David Slade... if youve seen Hard Candy, you'll know he likes to leave a lot to the imagination but shows as much a possible without it getting out of hand... which is a mixed blessing (because you wanna see how far Bella and Edward can go on the bed and then you don't).

    now that Maria has popped back in my head... Vanessa Hudgins comes to mind, but i still don't want to see her famous face in the movie.... UNKNOWN actress!

    i think any up-and-coming actress'll do swell as Bree, she has such a generic look - but be innocent enough to make us feel sorry for her when she's killed like in the book.

    Royce King - that douche.... i imagine him to be at least 10 years Rosalie's senior. and handsome yet a a-hole like many guys who's received one too many compliments.
    Matthew Goode (Ozymandias in" Watchmen") comes to mind...

    As I am new to this, please be patient with me, however, can anyone tell me where I can post my recommendations as to whom I believe should be cast as the remaining movie characters, ie: Riley, Garrett, Tanya, Kate, Eleazar, Carmen, Leah, Benjamin, Zafrina. No one may care, some may agree-entirely, never know what enough input may produce. Very interesting, though. Or does everyone just kinda say who they think in these comment boxes

    I totally agree.all those scenes made me sweat with excitement.i read eclipse in 3 days!!!! I know right?! So all those spicy scenes are the ones i look foward to seeing vissually like on screen. Its difrent than in youre head. I cant wait six months for new moon the movie. You think ill be able to wait a little over a year for eclipse?! Well. I have to so for now im reading the books like fifty times each chapter. I CAN NEVER GET ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You know every 15 year girl is going to audition for Bree.
    And Royce King? They are actually going to show Rosalie's past? I'd rather see Alice's. Blah! Rosalie! I actually didn't like that part of the book. Wouldn't be upset if it wasn't in the movie. Sorry if I ticked anyone off.
    I did like Jasper's past though.

    Even if Rosalie is not your favorite person in the book her story ties in with what happens in Breaking Dawn and why she does not agree with what Bella is doing.

    Crap, that is true. Especially with Renesmee. It's not because she isn't my favorite person in the book, there was something I didn't like about her story. The fiance killing her for nothing. (sorry if I spoiled anything) Not that he had to have a reason, but she was just walking from her friend's house the night before their wedding. ???

    I first saw the film AND THEN READ THE BOOKS AND WAS DECEPSIONE BECAUSE They DON'T TELL ALICE'S HISTORY ON THE FILM, I THINK THE STORIES OF THE CULLEN'S ARE VERY IMPORTANT PART OF THE SAGA.
    I think it is important to see these stories in the film I Meet a few people HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK ( THEYDIDN'T LIKE READ) BUT WANT TO SEE THE MOVIES AND IF THE STORY IS NOT COMPLETE THEY WILL NOT UNDERSTAND, I HAD THAT EXPERIENCE WHIT TWILIGHT

    I know, I agree that they really made a mistake in the first film by not establishing the Cullen familiy"s past. It is so important to their relationship with each other. Carlisle's background and relationship to the Volturi, Alice's connection with Jame's, how close Emmet and Edward are, Alice and Edward's closeness. I know they can't put everything in the movie from the book but the first movie is where we needed to get to know Edward's family, we really didn't need to visit that greenhouse did we? This is why when I see the Cullen family in the movie, and now the new clip, I feel like they are just bodies in the scene, just occupants in a room, a quick camera shot. I don't know what can be done now but it looks like they are going to pay attention to the past history of some of the Cullen's in Eclipse.

    Edward's past is kinda all wrong... carlisle doesnt change edward in the hospital.... if they wanted to keep part of it real they should've chosen a place like the morgue... if there's one patient there would be others and therefore doctors too... man i sorta was disappointed with the movie coz none of the scenes are played out.. like the meadow.. its nowhere near the school and the part where she goes like r u trying to irritate me to death part and after that with him askin bout the ride to seattle.. man that woulda been nice to see on the screen... hmph.. if i directed the movie with other ppl's money it wouldve been perfect.. they dont need a script theyd need copies of the book n thats it... the part i like most tho in twilight is when jessica interrupted edward in the greenhouse.... the look on his face was hilarious like 'omg, not this again... like... whatever..'
  • Trust me, I KNOW!!! It seems like it is taking FOREVER for November to get here!!!! The only good thing is that we don't have to wait a full year for Eclipse.....and I'm really hoping the same for Breaking Dawn, but only time will tell. I rather wait a lil' while and have them make the movies well, then for them to do a rush job and have the movie be a piece of s@%#

    Ahhh... lol... we're such dorks!! NM hasn't even come out and we're already waiting impatiently for Eclipse as well... lol!!! I'm so excited... I just hope they don't miss out ANYTHING from that book... that book, man, I love that book!! I hope they add those scenes in the tent and the ones in Edward's room... hehe... Edward *sighs* I hope we get to hear when they officially start filming!!

    Im worried they will leave out the tent scene....that is like one of the best ones but that is how i felt about the meadow scene in twilight and they screwed it all up!

    Oh, I hope not. the tent scene and when Edward holds Bella hostage and they spend the night at his house alone, are my favorite parts. Eclipse is my favorite book of the saga. I sure hope they don't mess up that whole tent scene from the space heater part to the, ask me to kiss you, and the Edward forgiving her for asking him(jake)
    to kiss her. Don't mess it up like the meadow, please.

    They shoudn't miss out the tent scene that is the ibit where Jacob and Edward start tob e ok with each other and i hope they dont miss out any of the kissing scenes with Bella and Edward, the one at the cullens house and the one in the meadow, just to finish Eclipse off with that would be so dreamy :)

    aah the tent scene and the 'kiss me' one... that'll be the hardest scenes for me to watch in the entire saga. I felt for Edward so much, virtually broke my heart lol. Not even the breakup scene will compare as far as i'm concerned. But there are so many other great scenes in Eclipse that I'll focuse on and am looking forward to. I can't wait for Eclipse to start shooting!!!!

    I'll admit, New Moon has begun to grow on me the last couple of months with talking to you guys. I have a much better respect for it than the very first time I read it and was completely devastated.

    But NOW it's time for the all the focus to come back to our main man and I couldn't be happier!

    My friends and I talk about how New Moon could almost be combined with Eclipse. Only because we missed Edward so much! LOL
  • If I could combine any part of the series it would be to add the beginning of Breaking Dawn up until the Honeymoon ends with Eclipse. That to ME is the PERFECT book and I would NEVER stop reading it.

    There's just something about Eclipse, every time I read it I go slower than with the other books and REALLY take in what happens between Edward and Bella. Their love really just seems to grow in this book and I can't WAIT to see that come to life on the big screen

  • Ya know what's funny...The first time I read Breaking Dawn (when they were on Isle Esme and she was walking into the water) and that moment during Best Kiss acceptance when she rejected him I felt the same way!!!

    I was left hanging BOTH times when I wanted MORE dammit!

    I think that would work well for the movies too - I'm rereading Breaking Dawn again (for the zillionth time), and I find I keep thinking about how they would turn that into a movie - SO MUCH happens, and a lot of it COULD be cut, but would suck if they did (like the arm wrestling), and if they tried to fit it all, you'd wind up with like ten minutes to get to know all the other vampires.

    I figure that they should at least shift the wedding to Eclipse - and then start Breaking Dawn on the honeymoon - and go pretty much straight into the pregnancy.

    Probably not gonna happen though - since the script is already written :)

    I started reading NM yesterday for the third time and I have to say im actually starting to enjoy it. The first time I read it I searched until I saw Edward's name (just to make sure the rumors were true and he did come back) but skimmed the whole middle part of the book. The second time I missed Edward so much I got too anxious after the break up and went right to Italy. This third time I have picked up on so many more details that I completely overlooked before. I have to admit...I actually love jacob now. Its crazy how the series gets better the more time you read it....

    Me, too. I didn't really enjoy it until the third time through. The first time was so painful. The second time I was catching up with the stuff I missed and then, months later, the third time I finally realized that it was one of the best. Can't really tell you which is The best!

    SM is a genius! She knew the saga couldnt be read once...twice...or even three times! Before every movie comes out im gunna have to start from the beginning and read them all again.

    Yes, the first time I read it I was so bummed and depressed after Edward left her that I had to check the end of the book just to see that he wasn't gone for good. I don't think I would have kept reading if he was.
  • I'm NOT ALONE!!!! That is seriously EXACTLY what I did!

    Right about the time I was finishing up Twilight, a friend of mine who was reading NM let it slip that he leaves. I was thinking maybe 1 or 2 chapters...certainly not half the damn book. I literally felt the heartache and pain Bella was feeling with every word and it was absolutely gut wrenching.

    I started skimming all those pages just reading what I thought was important. Then the second time I read them through, the whole time through Twilight I was preparing myself for it and telling myself "JUST READ IT" but when it came down to it I chickened out and skipped again.

    Now, I'm on my 6th time reading them through and it's really the first time I've read EVERY word of New Moon. And all the hype from this website has helped me tremendously! I just keep telling myself, "It's okay...he comes back"

    And I discovered this is the only book that I really and truly like Jacob in. Once he starts with his feeble attempts to win Bella over I lose it!

    totally agree! I havent read it as many times as you have but I love jacob in NM and this site really helped that! I HATED that boy for so long but I dont think I understood him. I agree though...I only like him in NM. Once Edward comes back, in my opinion, jacob could disappear and I wouldnt notice.

    Its crazy how much a book can impact me! I have to get through NM because I seriously am depressed the days I am reading it!

    I wonder what if would have been like to read NM without knowing if Edward would come back or not? I cant even imagine...it probably wouldnt be healthy to not skim to the end
  • I experienced that "hate" as well. It didn't help that I kept skipping all of Jake's important roles in NM.

    In Eclipse, at first, Jake was just slightly annoying to me THEN he kissed her (without her permission) and though it pissed me off I dealt with it. However, when he took advantage of the situation in the tent I LOST ALL RESPECT. That just did it for me!

    And all of my Twilight friends are Team Edward except one and we have had some serious debates concerning Edward and Jacob. But now I have a much better understand of his character and how vital his role really is.

    When i reread those parts I have to remind myself Jacobs only a kid. Hes a typical teenage boy (well besides for the fact hes a ww) and him tricking bella into kissing him was so normal. I REALLY have to stretch and remind myself Bella is only human too. She really bugged me in eclipse. I didnt like her "sneaking around" when she knew how much it destroyed Edward! And come on Edward is offering you his mother's ring at least pretend to share in his excitement!

    They sort of made Twilight one dimensional (meaning didn't develop the family's characters and subplots) probably because they didn't know if they were making the other 3 at all. Now, they have this gi-normous job of developing all the Cullens! I hope they can pull it off. Seems extremely important that they do to me!

    I thoroghly agree with that, and hope they'll extend the movie's running time if necessary in order to do so.
    Emmet barely got one word in in Twilight, for example, and I'll be excited in Eclipse with the training for battling newborns to see each family member get to show his/her strengths. Love those scenes!!

    Oh, heartbreak coming...I'm sad to hear they may be late in starting Eclpise-BUT-I'd rather have them do it right than rush through it. It's exciting that we're going to have other back stories in the movie; however; it's a long book and they can not take away anything from Bella & Edward's story. It will be a lot to cram into 2 hours. 3 hrs sounds good to me!!
    They must keep in the part in Edwards bedroom where Bella tries to seduce him, and the end scene in the meadow!!!

    I know those two flashbacks probably won't last long, there's too much in Eclipse that has to be put in to a movie, but if they're eidited well it can be awesome!

    I think they confirmed Rob as Edward and I truly truly believe that with the amount of fans that are rabidly defensive of their cast, they would in no way change that. I think they were very serioulsy reconsidering Taylor, and I'm sure he proved himself, but considering Chris Weitz actually wrote a letter to twifans defending himself and his director skills (I found that hilarious)
    I think they are very aware of the fan's wishes and will do what is necessary to escape being roasted alive.

Rob said something about his schedule though, and because of that he isn't sure when filming is going to start. I really hope they'll make it for spring.

    I am hoping for a single movie too. They could just make it longer....I wonder how long is New moon going to be.

    Twilight was 2 hours long....and to be honest that was a surprise to me. I didn't have a feeling it's that long. I thought it's an hour an a half.
    I think it was because of all the jumping from scene to scene....
    I hope New Moon is at least 2 hours and 20/30 minutes long so we can have enought time for the reunion and everyting after that.
    They are stupid if they think 2:30 h movie isn't going to hold our attention.

    BD will certainly be a challenge to film. I have a difficult time imagining that they will be very explicit in the delivery scene - depends on who's directing. I would guess that they'll probably rapidly change camera angles and shots and not linger on Bella for too long with any one angle to make it less gruesome on screen.

  • I agree! I HATED how CH (groans) left out the part where Edward tells Bella about Carlisle's history. That was a pretty important part of the book that she completely LEFT OUT!

    I'm glad to see they will be including that part BUT the most IMPORTANT of course will be TONS AND TONS of Edward and Bella (i.e Her trying to seduce him, Edward proposing to her, their little sleepover)

    And I'm VERY anxious to see how they do the "Tent Scene" with Edward, Bella, and Jake

    It's so great to know they will be showing all of those flashbacks, I loved that very much about Eclipse, that makes the reader even closer to the character and of course explains why they behave in certain ways.

    Filming Eclipse will definitely be a challenge, there's so much going on, I can't actually think of any scene that could be omitted. (yeah 3 hrs is minimum)

    The further they go into the Saga the more challenging it is.

    Breaking Dawn - this is going to be a huge challenge.

    as for now I think CW is doing a great job, I love the colours and the trailer was just awesome, he seems to be doing everything to stay as close to the book as possible. But I am sure he made some changes, that some scenes are omitted otherwise the movie would have to last, like....5 hrs 6 maybe? So I need to see the whole thing to make any judgements.

    But if he succeeds with NM I'd love to see him make BD.

    I'm so excited about the Eclipse movie. It is my favorite of the entire saga. It will be tough to keep it PG13 with the newborns being dismembered. It's also going to be tough for this movie to live up to my expectations since I've read this book more often that the others (compromise chapter) and have visualized it in my head more often than the others. I swear I get all toasty warm myself when Bella is warming up on Jacob in that sleeping bag.

And all the romantic scenes, the big fight at the end, Bella's graduation and party. They go to Florida to visit Bella's mom. The la plush campfire...they need to make this a very long movie!

  • I think they really need to make a good 2 hour film at least. Eclipse and Breaking Dawn are the 2 most revealing books and the series and there is definitely no room to cut anything out. You can't lose any of the book when theses 2 are transferred to the screen.

  • As I said before, Taylor Swift (with a wig, contacts, and makeup) would make a good Bree, especially with her roles on CSI, where her character looked like Bree as a human, and the MTV Movie Awards Twilight spoof with Andy Samberg.

    Catherine Zeta Jones for Maria and Sean Penn for Royce - those are my picks.

    So they are doing the Jasper Whitlock flashback after all? I'm so there - especially with his horse and outfitting it, Civil-War style! (bit/saddlery/historian/Civil War expert here)

    I'm also going to see if I can 'persuade' Jackson to sell/give me his Major's bugle from the movie once they're done with it the next time I see him...that is, unless Summit decides to do a Twilight movie saga traveling museum exhibit.

    Well i would like to try out for Bree tbh..because im 15, hav dark shoulderlength hair:)well i did but i dyed it blonde..i could always turn it back lmao xx i act;)..............actually id love to be Bree:D...that would be the only part i would be able to go for probly none others of my age:/.. I d love to be in Eclipse....or even visit the set..:L....then i would be chuffed haha....bye xx

    Like, I could fit both of their appearances.
    Other than that Maria has long hair. I have very short dark hair, like Bree.
    And I am only a few inches taller then what they say Bree is.
    Plus, I may not dress like alot of people, but all together I think, personally, I have good features. Like, a good nose, eyes, big lips. Kind of how they explain Bella when she is first transformed. Other then the hair. Omg, I hope they do some more casting calls in Victoria. I went with two of my friends, since I live twenty minutes away from where they did them. Of course, Thomas or Joanne didn't get in. I wish. Having my boyfriend be an awesome werewolf like Embry, Quil, or Seth?

    i think i would make a perfect bree cause i can do the ear piercing scream... and look inacont. i hope eclipse is good cause thats where bella picks who she wants to be with. and theres alot of fighting going on to... i hope they pick a good riley.

    Anyone know where you can get info about filming locations? I live in the Seattle area and some friends and I were wanting to drive up to Vancouver, BC in August to try to catch some glimpses of the filming of Eclipse. I know there are other fans who go to filming locations--but how do you find out where they are??? Vancouver's a big city! lol Don't want to spend my money on a trip wandering aimlessly around Vancouver and never catching any glimpses!
