the bella on the back of a strangers motorbike: You know the scene where Bella goes to Port Angeles with Jessica- and she sees strangers in the bar? This is where she hears Edward's voice for the first time. Anyhoo, according to lainey's gossip (which has creepily been correct so far), the movie takes this scene a bit farther. instead of just talking to one of the strange men in the bar, bella actually gets on a bike with him.

Hey Everyone--

I was just wondering which scenes you feel should definately be in NM and what little things could be skipped over. And personally, Twilight was 2 hrs 2 mins...seriously how hard would it have been to cut out the nomads and waylon boat scene and do more and extend the movie like 15 minutes...duh MR!

So...I'm thinking...the birthday scene, Charlie's kitchen when Bella takes the pics and then compares them (bc then Edward doesnt have anything to say in her room when they get back), they should do a school scene and show the tension before the breakup, the breakup, Bella buying the bikes, most of the Jacob hanging out stuff (they could do it all mashed or make it less than the first hour of the movie, IMO), Leah/Emily and the werewolves scene, Sam& Paul & Jake fighting( IMO, I think that was the scene Jake was phasing for in the trailer, not the Laurent scene bc Bella doesnt see that) The movie theather Bella sees Edward, the Mike Movie Scene, the Porshe in Italy, cliffdiving & other Jake stuff where she tries to see Edward, the reunion, the Volturi, the bedroom scene after, the vote, and I honestly dont think they should do a "big" proposal scene bc all he did in the book was ask her in her room...and if the rumors are true, maybe they are just changing the time of waiting like she has to go to college first or something but i dont think its the small proposal thing.

SO did I miss anything??...what do you think could go a little faster or be skipped over??

You know I am probably going to get slated for this and I'm going to have to try not to insult anyone, but the whole marriage thing in the saga kinda got on my nerves and I got the impression that it was Meyers message rather than coming from the characters...

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that Edward was from the early 1900's and that's what they did then-they got married when they fell in love...there was no question of not getting married. Plus, I think that's the only way he could justify "taking her life" was that the level of commitment was there in the form of marriage. Just my opinion...I loved it, and felt it was important to their story...but I also felt it had to do with Stephanie as well.

It sounded more like Meyer talking than her characters from a certain point...

They need to keep in where Edward starts to withdraw from her after the Bd party-and not just have him leave the next day (in trailer looks like he's wearing the same clothes, so next day?)
the breakup scene needs to be spot-on from the book.
The proposal MUST be in the story-it's so important to set up Eclipse..
We need to hear Edward say "I love you" He does "mouth" it in Twlight in the garage scene, but we need to hear him say it.
These are most important to me!

Yes, they definately need to keep the breakup scene like it is in the book...I really want all the tension leading up to it, I think they just didn't show us in the teaser trailer(Bella said "the thing with Jasper was nothing" like on a voiceover, so maybe they just took it from another scene, they definately need to keep the scene with Edward in the kitchen and Bella developing the pics, because that was important to when he comes back.

What do you think they could eliminate or make shorter?? II cant really think of much lol!! think the movie needs to be like 2 hrs 30 mins, because even the extra 30 mins. could help a lot!

Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is with a 3 hour movie...HP is definately 3 hours and LOTR was longer, I don't get why Hollywood is trying to chop everything down.

Yes, they have better contacts this time (at least that's what I read somewhere) another thing I noticed that looks different is his hair. Looks more like Rob hair rather than Edwards bouffant.
I love it either way!

Hmmm... you see I loved the dark eyes... they just look odd in the Trailer and I hate when you can tell its contacts in a movie - you know there is something about the pupil, it sits on not in the eye or something...

I'm glad that Kristen & Taylor wanted that scene in, and hopefully it won't be one that gets cust in the editing process. I love that part in the book.

I also liked hearing that Jackson was so in character on attacking Bella that he had to be held back. That's awesome, way to go Jackson! I can't wait to see the whole scene in the movie.

Let me get this straight. Taylor, Kristen and Mike had to FIGHT to do that scene??? A scene that is straight from the book, and basically leads to Jacob telling Bella that "she likes him more than her other friends"??

This is what irks me. I don't have a problem if the movie doesn't exactly follow the book. My problem is when a scene NOT from the book is added, rather than a scene that is actually FROM the book.

Twilight, for example. All the Waylon Santa Clause business. Couldn't they have left that out of the story, and then kept the conversation with Bella and Charlie about "are people talking about the Cullen's again"??

I was quite disappointed as well. I felt there were alot of important things left out. Like the lunchroom scene.. and ALOT of important conversations between Edward and Bell.

I completely agree with everything you just said. I hate it especially when they cut out important scenes from the book. Like these are major scenes that need to be included in the movie or else it just wont be as good. And I also heard that they might not put the proposal scene in the movie! Which is ridiculous and if they don't then I will be severely pissed. I think they did though but the fact that they weren't going to is insane!

Lainey's gossip said they did film the proposal scene (as creepy as it is, she's been right so far). But i'm right there with you- the very thought that they weren't going to include it was very upsetting! LOL

Totally agree 100%. One of my biggest issues with Twilight movie was that stupid field trip scene...UGH...that was so stupid, they could have put in the blood typing scene instead, that was one of the scenes form the book that I was looking forward to most. So disappointed in that movie. New Moon WILL be better.

And the conversation between Edward and Bella in the car on the way home from the restaurant (when Bella learns of what Edward really is)......

I agree that New Moon will be better and that Twilight the movie was a bit of a letdown, but the Twilight film is still my favourite film and most of the scenes they did do were amazing e.g. Fight scene, Prom scene, Biology scene. They should've added the more important scenes but turning a 500 page book into a 100 page script is not easy, especiallu not on a small budget like Twilight's but the end result was better than amazing - so we can be thankful for that?

Oh yes. Twilight may not have been page for page by the book- and the added stuff was kind of silly- but i still watch it at least twice a week. LOL. love it!

I wish they put the key scenes in (blood typing- my absolute FAV scene, question game, Edward asking Bella to sit with him, etc) to show their relationship rather than BAM they r in love

exactly. they just can't leave out the key scenes. in Twilight I would have really loved to see the Blood Typing Biology scene and the Biology scene were they watched the movie. Even though a lot didn't happen in those they were key moments to them becoming in love.

You're so right about those key moments to them becoming in love! I watched the movie with a couple of friends, and they haven't read the books. They were like: "Are they inlove ALREADY!?" lol

yeah i would have been like that too if i hadn't read the book before. cuz the movie flies right into them being in love. they didn't build it up like the book did. and i understand that the movie can't be wicked long to include everything in the book, but some of the stuff really needed to be in there!

The blod typing scene was defintely a must and it was a big letdown not to see it.

lol- we talk about this exact same issue in this thread (if you scroll down a bit). They should have stayed in the lab- I don't know about everyone else- but field trips for me stopped in 8th grade. Weird to see juniors and seniors going on field trips- but that may just be my experience.. LOL

I am a big supporter of any adaptation crew, it is a hard thing to do, condense 500 pages into an hour and a half...and I got why they smushed all the meadow stuff together into the "I know what you are" scene but adding random stuff in and taking important stuff out? I am baffled... I'm also irked that Bella gets on the back of a bike with a random bad guy... I just thought it was not in her character...

I wonder if they are replacing the scene of her riding the bike herself to the one with her on the back of the bike with that guy......

ok, how's this. When I read the Twilight saga- i do not visualize taylor lautner for my jacob. i see someone like John Redcorn from Kind of the Hill (lol, he's a cartoon, but you get the image).

when I watch the movie, taylor does a great job at being jacob. I accept and love taylor for movie jacob. but to this day, i don't picture him as book jacob when I read.

As for the contacts, go to the post here with all the screen grabs of the trialer and look at his eyes when Bella gets her paper cut, I notice it in the moving images as well, they are really light and the pupil is weird... and to be honest the brown eyes in Twilight was what made him soooooo hot...

I actually like the new contacts...I didn't think you could really tell that big of a difference between the Cullen's eyes and the bad vamps eyes in the first one. Laurent's eye look so kick @ss in NewMoon...happy for the change.

Yeah this would have been a great scene to put in the film, especially considering the in joke of her being sick at the sight of blood. They could have done away with the whole greenhouse debacle and replaced it with this. And then they could have showed more of Michael Welch and his crush on her.

back to the matter at hand- i'm REALLY sad they left out an 'i love you' or a 'kiss' in the scene where jasper, alice, and bella are about to leave the cullen mansion.

Edward was supposed to kiss her there, and Bella recognizes how the kiss seemed like a 'farewell' kiss. How she felt in that scene was supposed to transfer to how he kissed her in New Moon. That's what led her to believe something was wrong in the first place! "He kissed me the way he kissed me before I left for Phoenix- as if it were a farewell kiss".

I'm not complaining about how that scene turned out, but he got sooo close, we thought it would happen! I would have loved to have seen a kiss.

I loved Breaking Dawn. Yes, I will concede that there are moments that I didn't particularly like, but the whole birthing scene and honeymoon and Renesmee. Loved it. I was finally happy to have some gore in a vampire series. Which I know is not Stephanie's thing, but it was nice to have a little bit.

I am even all for the movie being rated R so that they can include everything.

There were some scenes that weren't in the book that I think were needed in Twilight. But this is such an important scene. I don't think the film would have flowed properly without it.

Yeah, see I'm a Trekkie (not one of the dress up and learn Klingon kind though) so I knew of him when he was a kid (which is weird to say seeing as he's only a year younger than me lol). But then he was in a heap of Sci-Fi and other shows that I loved...Invisible Man, Stargate, the X-Files. I remember when he was in CSI: Miami and Birds of Prey, Without a Trace (I cried when I watched his ep...he died!! *sniff*) and the list goes on and on. The best though was when he was in CSI just recently for us...he was playing a fan of a cult like Sci-Fi show...cracked me up!!

according to a more reputable source they were there to see a live band play. the club is open to underage people who are wristbanded (see pink wristbands on k and d) and have to pay for a "food and beverage charge". a worker at the club said that due to the intense fans kristen and dakota watched the show from backstage and DID NOT drink. clearly since kristen drove afterwards and she wouldnt want to turn into the next lindsay lohan when she knows everyone is following her. ALSO it was a Nylon party.

I also think that Kristen really is "getting" her role, and the books better and better, she seems to really know what is important to keep the movies true to the books, and fans happy.

This was a great scene! This is definitly where Jake mad ehis move for her, he picked her up, took her to the movies...(with mike) and where Bella realised how much Jake cared for her. He knew she didnt like music or hearing the Cullens name.
