Seth is my favorite out of the wolf pack I hope they get him right!

I think he is probably the most important character to cast for Eclipse. He just emanates goodness. I want him for a little brother.

I noticed it said they are only casting Native Americans. I think that's awesome! I wonder if thats only for the extras or Leah and Seth too. If so, that means no Vanessa Hudgens or some other actress wearing a wig.

I honestly hope and pray they cast Eliza Dusku for Leah. She would make the ultimate Leah Clearwater... (the girl that played Faith on the Buffy series or on Tru Calling, or the movie wrong turn) she would be perfect, I know quite a few people that thought of her when they were reading the book. And originally the kid that is playing Paul was supposed to play Seth, so Im interested to see what they are gonna do...

I quite agree that they should cast "unknowns" for the parts of the Clearwaters. For Riley though, I can't think of anyone but LUKE GRIMES, check him out. I don't think CHANNING TATUm would be a good choice for Riley, but I would definitely love him to play as GARRETT in BREAKING DAWN. He's what i imagined as Garrett

Leah Clearwater's character definitely needs to be cast dead on as she's pivotal in both Eclipe and Breaking Dawn.

I, myself, am not completely sure. I know Rob is finished with his parts- and I thought Kristen was, too. I know from previous articles that the shoot in Italy was supposed to end May 29- and we saw the entire cast at the MTV movie awards. My guess would be that, unless there is some catastrophe in post-production, filming is complete.

Well they do only have 8 weeks to find all these people before Eclipse begins. And think of all the extra Vampires tey have to find...(for Victoria's group of Newborns). They might not have alot of Dialogue for the new vamps...but I'm sure they will need soewhat good acting skills due to the fight scene.

Might it be wise to base the role on someone who both looks the role AND can act?

I respect your view but don't agree... I think they should cast the role to natives or first nations because that is keeping it real to the book. Also how many of you knew about Alex, Chaske, and the rest of the pack prior to them being cast in New Moon? I know I didn't and I'm sure yes one or two of you may have but most of us on here will be in the same boat as me.

I think this saga is a great thing for the native american and first nation actors because they must find it so hard to get work in the first place and then when you have a specific roles like this come up and there was a possibility that you competing against non-natives too I would be major pissed.

I'm indian though so maybe I'm am biased in my view, but I really don't think they will cast anyone who can't act and it gives the chance for some unknowns to make it big. Its all comes down to the direction, if I had never seen Kristen's other movies before I saw Twilight I would have actually walked away thinking what a cr*p actress she is...but then I know its all down to Catherine and her appalling direction rather than Kristen's acting.

I'm not really opposed to the idea of having the "Native's Only", I am simply saying that, in the grand scheme of things, does it truly matter if someone is legitimately a Native American or not? Good point. I respect their decision too, but if the case came up... I would rather see a better actor]actress for the part, rather than them have the real heritage.

It does make a big difference because a non-native actor can be considered for other roles. While a Native actor will see that they can't play these other roles. Not because they aren't talented it's just how Hollywood works.

The scenario you've described has already happened before in past films, with Native American roles, and it just recently happened with another large franchise. It seems that the people involved with The Last Airbender have decided to let anyone play for the main leads. Even though it's an Asian influenced world, most of the main leads are white. Even the Inuit influenced leads are played by white actors.

We can go on and on about this but it basically comes down to this: Who do you think will find it harder to be considered for a role? A Native or Non-Native actor?
I would also like to say that there are amazingly talented unknown Native actors out there. They just need to be found and this franchise is a wonderful way to introduce them to the world.

This is the point I'm trying to make: a native actor should be considered for roles just the same as non-native actors. And vice versa.

I love Seth and Leah. They're my fave werewolves. Seth is so sweet, he reminds me of a little boy sometimes. I mean with his whole trusting the vamps thing, and so accepting of the cullens, especially edward, as not murdering, bloodsucking monsters. He sees them as people, as equals. I love Leah too, cause there's just so much heart break in her character. I'm obsessed with dark, emotional, tragic stories and characters, especially those who retreat into themselves because that's the only place they can retreat to.

I think America Young should be Leah. She looks like what I imagined Leah to look like, except for the emo-ness.

I agree with Summit's decision to only hire Native American/First Nation actors and actresses to play new Quileutes, especially Leah and Seth. Honestly I cannot imagine High School Musical's Vanessa Hudgens ever playing the part of Leah, nor do I wish to.

I would recommend the seasoned Native American-descent actors and actresses, any of which could play Quileute characters or extras:

Personally, I think Alice Rice would make an excellent Leah. I don't mind who plays Riley, but I think that Taylor Swift, who had a small acting role on CSI, might make a good Bree (if Mr. Slade chooses not to cut the role) with a wig, contacts, and makeup.

Alex Meraz was at a recent carpet sighting and he was with Q'orianka Kilcher AGAIN! It's the Third time they show up together. Alex being connected to NM and she's connected to him so It's possible she has an upper hand to be connected/casted in the series.

She could maybe be Leah even though I never saw her as a Leah more of an Emily really But there's Jacob's sister too who is Paul gf and they are already making themselves look like a couple....

i really think UNKNOWNS should be cast for Leah, Seth and Riley, but the actors should have done local or bit parts because Seth and Leah have important parts in the rest of the movies.

On another note, I really hope they leave Bree in the movie. I think her role is important since she makes Bella really think about what she'll be like later. And I think I should play Bree.LOL

She does play a pivotal role as giving Bella an "idea" of what it will be

I read this entire board and not one person has brought up the fact that the guy they had cast for Quil is the whitest guy in the world. I don't think he has any Native in him at all, I mean look at him. But none the less he is going to be joining the wolf pack in the begging of Eclipse, and I personally think that he can pull it off. I think that with the right make up almost anybody could pull off being Native American, I mean if you watch movies like Lord of the Rings were they turn people into evil demented Orcs, then I am pretty sure that turning a white guy into a Native American is a piece of cake!!!
