I think we should start the campaign to have CW direct BD, NOW, not tomorrow, not next month. NOW coarse we need to see if he is availabe. But I'm on the CW bandwagon. I'm not worried about David Slade, this guy is the right guy from Eclipse.

Vampgirl, count me in on that band wagon, Chris is one of the best things that could have happened to this series, he should direct BD, at least then there might be some hope it gets the detail it needs!
CW has so much more taste when it comes to special effects, thank god he thought to get rid of the sparklying sound, i mean since when did edward jingle when he sparkels? LOL

i couldn't agree more. Catherine was a bit vague in what she wanted and that comes across in the movie. Chris is so focused and i think this movie will be much better than Twilight, even though I prefered the Twilight book to New Moon.

I dig it. I mean she had a tiny bidget, no concept of my glorious washington state weather, and is incredily hair brained, but I loved the cinematography and the music, and well......... I really loved Twilight. I was upset about weitz due to the fact that the golden compass was such a friggin flop. I dunno. I like Catherine, she's unique and wild and reminds me of........... nothing comes to mind. But I think she's perfectly her, and I like that about her.

She does seem like a nice person and I do love the soundtrack. She did awesome on that. But as a director, goodness, she stunk. I felt like I was going to throw up during the big reveal scene in the woods.

I know that part was, how do you say? Oh! Not well done. But I still dig it. Cuz it's twilight. I thought their never ending space-offy stares at each other were kinda awkward.
I hadn't read the book before i saw the flick, and I thought when Bella got to school and saw Edward, the faces they made looking at each other were so dang funny. It made sense after I read it, but before that we were laughing so hard. Especially when she wandered into Biology and dude was acting like he was gonna puke. The fart spoofs on that scene are my favorites. I just rambled on for a long time and realized I never reached a specific point. SOrry. :) Uh, Ill go now

It has been obvious from the get go how much Chris has invested in this film and I love and respect him for it. I did not think Rob could get any hotter, but Chris made him hotter.

She really is quite strange. She has a very different view of things.

Very "artsy" type person. (Which we know that many "artsy" people love to "explore" their creativity in "creative" ways.

Some of the things she did were very weird. Like worrying about the budget, yet wasting money filming scenes that she knew weren't gonna' make it into the movie, just for her own personal pleasure. (i.e. the deleted scene where Bella gives Edward "a taste". That was SOOO out of character for Edward that their was no way for it to make it in the movie.)

I will give her this though...
She did an AWESOME job choosing the actors for out beloved characters!!!
The Saga would just not be the same without them. So for that reason, I am glad she did "Twilight".

However, I am thrilled that Summit replaced her with Chris Weitz! He is doing a SUPER job. I do agree that the wolves need to be a little more menacing (though cuddly at times too, as Bella does cuddle with Jake/wolf).

I pray that Summit is smart enough to use him again for Breaking Dawn. He will do a great job with Reneesme, I believe.

Yea, that deleted scene was just strange...I was so glad that didn't make into the movie...I think it would have been awkward. LOL

I hate to hate her because she did pick the cast, but that really ticked me she did that scene for her own pleasure! We needed more in the meadow and no stupid "monkey" lines!

That was the only part of the trailer that I was slightly disappointed with...the wolf. I just was expecting something.... scarier? I mean, they are supposed to be in her nightmares for a long time, I just wanted to walk up and give that dog a bone and tell him to be nice. LOL

remember.... this is June. They still have over 5 months to perfect the special effects and CG. What I am amazed with is the fact the teaser trailer came out so soon. The teaser trailer for Twilight came out LONG after filming ended. This is very encouraging to me, in that this small taste of the movie looks far superior very early in post production( post? they were not even done filming when this little gem was put togethor!) I am sure much more time will be spent on perfecting the "dogs" and they will be the wolves we expect them to be.

don't reminded me meadow that is how i don't like her(hate is a strong word), that was my fav in the book, the one i was the most expecting, but she ruined it, i was like "was this the meadow scene, just this" then i was hopeful almost until the end of the movie that it was not "the meadow scene" and that it was coming. so sad

I thought THAT was the meadow scene? WTF? Did she not read the book or talk to SM?
Let's hope Chris LISTENS to the fans and SM, and he will do a great job.

yeah that is why i said don't get me started, reasons why i don't like her:
1. the meadow scene.
2. the makeup and wardrobe( bella look homeless and the cullens normal not rich)
3. edward's car (it was girly)
5. and maybe the most important, i thought everything was rush, like i said "where he came from w/those lines"
6. the dialogue (if mr doesn't do a good job as a screenwriter why don't you do something about it, wait don't, ex"spider monkey")
7.i don't feel the relationships like bella/ edward love, bella/alice sisterhood, mike/edward jealousy, etc.
8. movie looks low budget( i know it is but come on we don't have to realize that)

well to made it shorter what she did right:
1. the casting
2. the fight and baseball scenes
3. made the movie( but i am not sure to give that to her, b/c she was the want to gain from that, yeah she took a movie that nobody wanted to do and now we have the sequels but we have to understand that she was jobless and she made lot of money from it)

i totally agree with you. so what they had a small budget, slumdog had a small budget and it came out good. Yeah edward didnt look like he was rich, they are supposed to look liek they are wearing the latest fashion from PARIS. Even bellas prom dress wasnt NICE! and Alice was supposed to help her. And in the Book he offer to take her to the meadow because he discovered it when he wanted to be alone and he wanted to share that with her when he drove her to SEATTLE! And in the movie they made it seem like CHARLIE hated EDWARD when in fact in the first book he really liked him and he was always vouching for the CULLENS. and the cars were all wrong. hmmm what else... and when he took her out to dinner, she didnt have her jacket on and thats why the next morning he picked her up because he knew she would be cold since she left her jacket in Jessica's car. instead of the scene in themovie where hes just standing outside her house. it would have been so much more romantic if they did it in the book. i dont understand the book is so perfect... to make theperfect movie, you just have to copy that into the screen, there is no need to change any of the dialogue! UGH! but i still like it after watching it several times because ROB and Kristen ROCK and the rest of the cast!

I would be so happy if NM featured a flashback to part of the meadow scene - only not part of the scene from Twilight, but a scene shot fresh for NM that's more true to the book. Not saying they should redo the part from Twilight, but maybe they could shoot a little quality clip as a, say, companion to the crap CH made. That would make me smile. :)

This is my first time commenting on this site, but the deleted scences in the Twilight dvd were not good.

The first thing that I look for and watch when i first purchase a dvd is the Blooper Reel, so when i saw that Twilight didnt have one, i was extremely disappointed. I hope that the New Moon has a lot more extras and bonus material cuz Twilight did not.

Here's my little take on the subject....

Catherine = Upon reviewing the behind the scenes junk on the dvd I realised something. She reminds me of a chicken with it's head cut off, running around not knowing it's own arse from a hole in the ground. Total chaos. Who, by the way, I just read (roommate gets Entertainment mag afterall) she is remaking Hamlet. But in her own way. I will let the Hamlet fans ripe her a new one.

Chris = Espresso sipping, laid back, ho-hum mellow dude. He knows what he is doing. He has his junk together better than AIG bank with 80 billion dollars.

I *heart* Chris. Honestly...I would rather Eclipse to have been pushed back. Give Chris enough time to put together New Moon, and then begin on Eclipse. I adore him.

This was a good description of Cathering TWP... lol... I won't be spending my money to go see her rendition of Hamlet... that scares me.

With what David Slade has done, I can see them using him for the "new borns", but in my opinion, I'd rather see Chris do Eclipse (my favorite book) and use David to help with just the new born stuff... I am a little scared I have to say... I hope he (David) doesn't make it too scary of a movie, I always looked at that one as the funny one.

I loved Eclipse too. New Moon is still my favorite. Simply for the introduction of the pack. Including Paul *DROOLS* always had a soft spot for that hot head. I *heart* the bad boys.

I can understand why David was chosen for Eclipse. More importantly I understand the fear of him directing. Basing my impression of 30 Days of Night I'm okay. He mixed romance and suspense very well. The ending of that movie nearly brought me to tears. I just wonder how the wolves will look compared to New Moon. I wonder how the make up with compare and everything.

I hope he keeps the wolves the same.... they really don't need to be scary.

The wolves definitley do not need to be scary. I never had the "scared" vibe with them anyway. I'm a sucker for endings like 30 days too.

Awe, Kristen has been really happy looking the past few days! Must be a release of all the pressure of the filming..... Love her smile.

I was thinking the same thing, but I guess I'll have to see how David Slade does Eclipse. He might do really well...but I still am not sure about him. He just doesn't seem like he would be able to direct the emotional side and the romance eclipse has. We will see.

I absolutely love Chris Weitz! He is making this movie such a bigger hit than Twilight, which is hard to believe.... Catherine did okay, but the whole 'different styles' thing is bulllsh**. I can't wait till NOVEMBER!!!!!!! That teaser trailer from MTV was NOT ENOUGH! I'm so glad they got the papercut scene in there, though. I've been DYING to see that!

Chris is soo awesome.
When I first heard he was hired, and read his little letter thing on stephenies website, I just had this feeling he'd do a great job.
With catherine, I didnt. I was scared actually.

Chris is handsome and his voice makes me melt. Hes intelligent and takes this movie very seriously. He sticks to the books, and unlike catherine, his ideas HELP the movie not completely flush it down the toilet.
I want Chris do do Breaking Dawn, and hopefully redo Twilight.
