Okay, when I first read the article headline "New Moon Trailer in Theaters on Friday with The Proposal" i totally thought you guys meant that they had an extended version of the trailer that would show the "Edward/Bella proposal".... WOW major misread.

On another note, why is this being shown in front of a romantic comedy? Maybe because of the "romantic" part? Good thing they chose New Moon, the least romantic and absolutely most depressing of all the books, to show in front of an upbeat movie ;) *rolls eyes*

the full length trailer will first air in aug with the movie band slam... im seriously considering going and just watching the trailers then leaving...lol

Yea you're probably right. I'm just being cynical ;) Although, even though I think Harry Potter and Twilight are completely different film sagas, since they are both fantasy stories, I figured the trailer would be shown in front of Half-Blood Prince.

Maybe the full-length trailer will be shown in front of it next month??

Nah i dont think Half-Blood Prince, too many Harry Potter fans would get too riled up, seeing how much better Twilight is than HP.

I think HP and Twi are totally different types of stories, but the one thing they do have in common is the fantasy genre.

Harry Potter actually has a way more epic, multi dimensional story. And it's not really an "escape" the way Twilight is. The best things about Twilight are the romance and the escapism. I don't get either of those things from Harry Potter. Both are fantastic regardless. But I wouldn't say that HP is "better" than Twilight, at least not in every sense.

Either way, I just figured the trailer would be shown in front of HP because the timing seems right and because again, they're both fantasy films. But who knows.

No im pretty sure that it was posted that it will come out before Bandslam movie which makes sense since that movie will attract more teens and it comes out end of august. So time wise, its more appropriate for the november premiere.

I saw the trailer last Thursday when I saw a sneak preview of 'The Proposal' as well. I did think it was odd it was played before that movie, being as it has little comedy in it. Romance...ok...I'll give you that. It was the same trailer from the MTV Awards, and it looks better.....CGI wise....on the big screen. I thought it was odd though, that it's such a quiet trailer. I think the one that played before had more music in it, so when New Moon started it was a little jolting. But I recognized it immediately once the Summit icon came on the screen. I and a few others in the theatre 'whoo hoo'd' when it came on. LOL! But then, and I thought this odd, it got really quiet in the theatre. People were talking throughout the other one, but then immediately stopped. I don't know if that was because the trailer is quiet, or because it's NM, or because we 'whoo hoo'd' But it doesn't appear they altered the trailer in anyway. So Bella's blood is still black. Jasper's stunt rig is still visible. And Jacobwolf is still the same....but it looks better on the big screen. And I heard alot of people say 'whoa!' when he morphs. So that was pretty cool!

I love the way the wolf looks. I can't believe so many people were/are disappointed in it. It looks fantastic. If it looked like the wolves did in Underworld, I would be so upset. I love what Weitz has done.

I agree with you. Weitz has modeled the NM wolves after real wolves, which is how it should be. I think the Jacob-wolf looks great! I never thought it looked cartoony at all.

Let's just hope we can get some red blood, an invisible stunt rig and a less cartooney wolf by November!

I saw the sneak preview of the Proposal last night (very funny btw) but no New Moon trailer or I would have squealed so loud that my two friends would have SMACKED me! I did see the movie poster hanging on the wall and did a little squeal with my arms reaching out to touch it but my arms were promptly smacked down. My friends just don't understand. Probably cuz I'm 37, but that's OK.

wow...I can remember the day they confirmed New Moon the movie and I thought it would be forever til we finally see it on the big screen. And now the trailer is showing in theaters...gives me hope that November will be here soon enough.
And I guess Eclipse shoot in September will help to pass time as well :)

I wasn't syre if I should say anything on here but since you did....yeah...no proposal in New Moon...at least it wasn't in the draft I read. But before everyone freaks out...Iy made since to take it out...you can' have 2 movies in a row ending with a proposal. It will be fine.

I am the one who saw the Trailer last night and emailed Newmoonmovie.org. I don't know if they are going to start showing it with The Proposal when it comes out Friday (which for those of you whom say you would just go see the New Moon trailer and leave, The Proposal is a really funny movie you should stay and watch it), but I sure hope they do show it so everyone can see it.

Seeing it on the big screen, with the surround sound, literally gave me chills. And yes there were squeals, and it was the first preview (followed by others that included a horror movie and a comedy, so it didn't puzzle me as to why they were showing it with that movie). But the funniest thing about it, after the movie was over everyone around me leaving the theatre, they weren't talking about The Proposal they were talking about New Moon!

I'm pretty sure those of you who didn't see "The Proposal" on Saturday will get a chance to see the "New Moon" trailer starting June 19th (actual release date for "The Proposal"). The movie theater I work at in NY also had the amazing NM trailer before that sneak preview on Saturday...I'm almost positive they wanted the NM trailer to play before that movie b/c of all the buzz around "The Proposal" and maybe trying to get that audience interested in NEW MOON.

The trailer for The Proposal really doesn't do any justice to the movie. Srsly, I was laughing the entire time. The preview for New Moon was just a huge bonus that I was not ecpecting, can't wait!

Well nmm.org had an article a while back saying that there was a theory that they would start showing the preview in August when Summits movie Bandslam comes out. So I was shocked when I saw it Sat. night, was not expecting it at all. Now I definately would pay to go see a movie I didn't want to see otherwise to see the trailer (even though it was pretty awesome, lol), but The Proposal is a really good movie, so if ppl are going to go check out the trailer at least it will be before a good movie.

I live in a lil' town in Cali and I haven't seen the trailer yet in theatres, BUT I went on March 24th to see Terminator:Salvation and our theatre already had the New Moon poster up. So I thought it was pretty cool that it was out already in March. :)

OK... I really really liked the first one; so I decided to read the book. And it turned out that the movie is a piece of S..T comparing to the book !!!!
The trailer to the second one seems to show tht this one is going to be just as Hollywoodish as the firt one and they are changing almost everything just to put the "pretty face" in more.
The only impressive thing in that trailer is the Jaspers' attack scene - it's not how I imagined it but it's really cool :D
As to the rest of this project, I hope not, but it is probably going to be just as dissapointing as the frst one or even more...
Of course it's going to make billions because of the crazy fans. :/
