commentary edward bella new moon Top Ten Reasons Women Love Vampires

The website AskMen has a feature up about reasons vampires appeal to women, and how guys can use this knowledge to their advantage–would you agree with some of these, or are they just wishful thinking? For example–

Vampires are loners: The average guy runs with a pack; a group of close drinking buddies who come over to watch the game, hit the links on the weekends and get into trouble together. This clan takes up quality time and attention that is usually reserved for a girlfriend. Vampires work alone. They don’t have many friends, and if they do, they are usually out doing their own thing. Women love vampires because they have all the time in the world. Literally.

What the single guy could learn: Don’t hang out with your friends so much. Make time for her and occasionally bag plans with the boys. The guys, the game, the golf, and the beers will always be there. Show her you are your own man.

Vampires require no commitment during the day: Even though women love to spend as much time as possible with the man they adore, they still want some alone time to do things with the girls or on their own. They feel bad if they don’t at least call and check in a few times during the day. Women love vampires because vampires can’t take up the entirety of a woman’s day. Hell, they can’t even stay that late into the night. Sleepovers only last until the sun is coming up and vampires are nowhere to be found until the sun goes down.

What the single guy could learn: Sometimes a woman does just want to be alone. Give her time to do her own thing and be her own person. Give her space to be independent. It will make the time she spends with you even more special.

peter facinelli 200906101133 Nurse Jackie Premiere Excels, Approves Second Season The Hollywood Reporter is reporting big numbers for the season premiere of Nurse Jackie, New Moon doc Peter Facinelli’s latest TV show. I wonder how many of those viewers tuned in for the Dr. Carlisle Cullen?–

Showtime is giving a second season order to “Nurse Jackie” after the Edie Falco drama became Showtime’s most-watched series premiere ever Monday night.

“Jackie” was seen by 1 million viewers, then gathered another 350,000 watchers during its same-night repeat for a total of 1.35 million viewers. That surpasses the prior same-night series premiere record holder, “Secret Diary of a Call Girl,” which opened to about 950,000 viewers last year.

‘Nurse Jackie’ picked up for second season [via Twilight Examiner, thanks Jo!]

cam gigandet 200906100852 Cam Gigandet to Play another Vampire in Priest Adaptation Cam Gigandet is set to play another vampire role, following up on his Twilight stint, according to MTV

“Twilight” villain Cam Gigandet will make the leap onto the paneled page with a starring role in “Priest” based on the TokyoPop comic book series, says The Hollywood Reporter — and he’s taking his blood-sucking sensibilities with him.

Directed by Charles Stewart, “Priest” is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires and follows a warrior priest who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece.

kristen stewart dakota fanning 200906100824 Kristen Stewart Leaving the Runaways Studio, Day 2

Kristen Stewart left The Runaways studio with Dakota Fanning yesterday sporting her new shorter haircut plus some dark nail polish for her Joan Jett look. I can only guess the tape on her fingers is callouses from playing the guitar?

Check out the rest of the pics of New Moon and Runaways stars Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning at Just Jared Jr.

chris weitz 200906100816 Chris Weitz: New Moon Like a Victorian Narrative Painting MetroNews has a great new interview with New Moon director Chris Weitz. In it, he talks about some of the differences we’ll see in New Moon compared to Twilight, including the visual look of the movie–

Q. You’re a very visual director. What’s your vision for New Moon?

A. We’ve got an amazing visual effects team. The whole idea is to use the full palette of colors, to have our shadows be very dark and to have our colours be very rich so that we can experience the full range of emotional texture. The idea is that this will look like a Victorian narrative painting in a way, with those medieval jewel-like colours as well as very glossy deep blacks, and for the composition of the frames to be classical. In some ways, this is going to be a rather old-fashioned film. There are elements that incorporate the latest technology and there are things that are very dynamic in the action scenes. But it’s more Dr. Zhivago than Iron Man.

Sounds awesome! Read the rest of the interview at MetroNews.
