italy set 200906081614 Italian Report: 3 Days of Filming New Moon

italy set 200906081617 Italian Report: 3 Days of Filming New Moon Italian Twilighter YuN shares an excellent report in English of three days in Montepulciano, Italy watching the New Moon shoot go down. It’s well worth a read, and starts off with a bang–

On the highway everything is ok until we get near Chiusi: a car with a blue police flashing makes its way and I move aside to let it go ahead. As soon as it surpasses me I look back filled with curiosity and I’m about to collapse: Robert Pattinson and his agent are being escorted to Montepulciano on a police grey BMW, so it’s time for the first updates on Twitter, all while driving! Then I tried to keep the contact going at 140km/h {10 over the limit!} but they were driving so damn fast that a few minutes later the car was gone. I wonder who pays the fines!?

vancouver set 200906081515 Metro Reports from the Set of New Moon in Vancouver We finally have a first-hand account from the set of New Moon with the first of a five part series from Metro News in Canada. They recount–

Ready? Action! Jacob fastens a necklace on Bella. “It catches bad dreams,” he tells her. But Bella only dreams of Edward, played by Robert Pattinson. The British actor is leaning nearby on a car, a figment of Bella’s imagination. She is continually haunted by memories of this impossible love.

\As the cameras roll for the third take, Lautner forgets his lines. “Sorry, I’m totally lost,” he laughs. “Cut, reset!” orders Weitz. The cast had a 5 a.m. wake-up call. Lautner outdoes himself in the fourth take. “That was my favourite!” enthuses the director.

The heavy atmosphere of the Vancouver weather seems to temporarily lift as lunch break is declared. Even vampires get hungry, and Pattinson joins us for a quick bite and chat. In full vampirical make-up and sporting yellow contact lenses, we almost expect him to bite us instead of his food.

chris weitz 200906081405 New Moon Cast Lauds Director Chris Weitz The cast of New Moon can’t say enough good things about the new director, Chris Weitz. For example, Michael Welch, who plays Mike Newton says–

“When we all got on set the first day [Chris] gave us this packet of 30 to 40 pages of what he wanted the film to look and feel like, how he was going to shoot it, all of that stuff. The thing is, both Chris and Catherine—I don’t want to say one is better than the other. They are polar opposites in terms of style. Catherine can only succeed in chaos, really. But Chris is the exact opposite, he’s so calm and has all his stuff together. He really made this film great.”
