Wow! Imagine if Rob really got injured or killed. Whether it be from fans or whoever not paying attention. It would be so utterly tragic. I am coming from a Mother's point of view; where I have 4 teenage daughters who adore and love Twilight. Imagine how'd I would have to pick up the pieces. Not only my daughters but across this world. Oh my, this is awfull saying what I'm going to say, but think about if the moment would have gone this way:

The cab hits Rob and he falls. Voices become echoing. Slowmotion. His head hits the hard ground. Close up to his face. His eyes stay closed. His head starts bleeding. Sadmusic begins. The bodyguard runs to him pushing people out of his way. The cab driver rushes out of his car and calls 911. Other people are calling 911 too. Girls start crying and screaming. Someone is giving Rob first aid. Rob is still lying on the ground, not moving. The ambulance sirens are getting more clear. The bodyguard yells: "Look what you did, you KILLED him!"

Something to think about there. Now, leave Robert alone you crazy monkey girls or this wont be too far away to happen :<

From what I read on eonline and people.com it seemed that it was an accident but had little to do with production. It had to do with a lapse in judgement, at the least, maybe a panic, at the worse, by the security guys. Summit was quoted as saying something about, Rob is fine; production goes on.

According to robert-pattinson.co.uk the whole situation was very exaggerated by the original 'sources'. He was clipped by the cab on the hip but was definetely not hurt.

Even so I am afraid that once Rob is finished with the films he is signed up for already he is going to stop and mayb do theatre or sumthin where the fans cant get 2 him as easily. He has already said in the past that he finds it hard to handle all the attention. I am outraged currently. I do not have time to read all of the comments, but I can imagine I am in agreement with a lot of them. I cannot believe that fans have gotten so crazy as to put Rob in danger - they are should actually not be called fans, but insane stalkers. Fame has already taken his private life now it may take his actual life too. Rob is an unbelievable actor and person and has always been so gracious with everyone. I know it's the production company's duty to have security on set, but I thought that off set security had to be hired by the actors. That's how it was in the Britney Spears documentary they did on MTV. *blushes* yes, I watched that, too.

First of all, the story is incredibly misleading. And that photo of Rob has nothing to do with the accident at all. Secondly, Summit cleary stated that he is fine and the accident wasn't serious. So chill out.

Thirdly, you fans who are claiming that you are ready to go down there and fight off these "crazy" fans are just as crazy as them. He's the one who decided to walk out in the middle of New York traffic. So it was his own misjudgment that caused the accident. It's not like the fans physically pushed him. Robert doesn't need you to go down there and protect him, and I'm sure he wouldn't want you to.

Dear Moriah, honey. Technically, you may be correct that the fans did not directly cause the "accident." But you can agree, can't you, that the environment is frenetic due to the crazy fan/pap situation? Causing extra security, dodging quickly through crowds rather than careful negotiation of streets, etc. It's not a good work environment for anyone.

In anyone's book, coming in contact with a moving car is potentially dangerous, no matter what Summit says.

Yes, Rob did by his own doing, run into the street, BUT it's called fight or flight syndrome. If you where about to get mobbed your instincts tell you to fight or flee. He wasn't thinking about the traffic in the moment he decided to run. He just reacted, it happens to everyone. AND he wouldn't of needed to run if these crazed fans didn't put him in that situation. Coming in on this a little late, but the heck, Rob is just a person like any of us, he's not GOD, he happens to act for a living, that doesn't give you retards to treat him any less, I personally believe its a parent issue, these dumb azzes weren't taught bounderies or to respect others. and this is coming from a mother with teenage daughter. If my daughter did anything like this to any celebrity, I would literally kick her azz, and she would never enjoy another day. I've taught my kids to treat all people the way the would like to be treated.

Ok 1st off this is complete bullshit and should of never happened. Me: No...?....What happened?!?!

Hubby: There's good news and then bad news...

Me: WHAT?...WHAT happened???

Hubby: Good news: He was hit by a cab in New York City....

Me: WHAT?!?!?! THAT'S NOT GOOD NEWS!!!!!

Hubby: Bad news is that he'll be fine.....

I WAS SO APPAULD!!!! AND MAD AT HIS REACTION!!!! So I quickly logged on here and read the story.....STUPID STUPID FAN GIrLS!!!!!!!!!!!! What were they thinking?!?!?!?!?!? He could have been seriously hurt!!!! That could have been disasterous!!!! I'm very glad to know he is well.....I can only imagine the thoughts that were flooding his mind when that happened!!!! wow. way to exaggerate things. he barely got struck. lol. he didn't even get knocked down. even a representative from summit entertainment said that reports on this incident "are exaggerated", and also "it was not caused by fans".

In my opinion this isn't just having to do with the protection of Rob or Summit Entertainment not providing enough protection (I do believe he should still have protection), but also to how bad certain publicity effects kids minds. Not just that, but how certain kinds of publicity affect anyone’s minds. We all need to remember that Rob (and any other celebrity for that matter), were not always celebrities. Anyone who has ever become a celebrity was once at a stage where they weren't famous. I really wish kids would start thinking more about stuff like that. Even adults can act upon certain matters in an ignorant way. Just a few weeks ago I met this girl who was saying how she doesn't care about being popular at school. Well once you get her on the subject of Rob Pattinson she never stops. If you ask me the popular crowd at a school is pretty close to the famous people in the world except just slimmed down to size and not as much brought out to the world’s attention. That's all I really can say right now without repeating myself over and over about the subject.
