Rob, would be perfect for the biopic of Jeff Buckley. Rob has the deep, velvety, soulful voice..and he sounds so similiar to Jeff Buckley when singing and performing..ie..Never Think, and I was Broken. He is extremely talented singer, writer and has even some of the same physical presence when performing similiar to Jeff Buckley. I think this part would be perfect for him. With some makeup he could look just like him as well. I love James Franco, but Rob is perfect for this movie. AMckenzie

Oh dude, Rob needs a break! And I don't know about James' schedule (who I love btw.) but Rob's schedule is definitely busy! And because of his schedule it's already difficult to shoot Breaking Dawn, so imagine one more project added! Apart from that though I think James is a better choice because of the physical resemblance!

I think Franco is a great actor...but I also think he is well not overrated, that word is too hard but praised too much. I would be pleased if Franco gets the role, but I would love it even more if Rob gets it.
They said the script isn't finalised yet so it depends, because Rob himself said that he's choosing his roles if he likes the script.

First Buckley's familly said that they're going to use Jeff's original songs so the actor wont be singing them...
BUT now it seems they changed their minds so they want an actor who can actually play guitar really well, and I'm asuming the actor will sing the songs too...which Rob can do. I can hear something Buckleyish in his voice.
As for the resemblance, I think Rob can transform himself easilly, I don't see a problem there. Yes, Franco looks more like Jeff but Rob isn't far behind also and with the right hair cut and contacts he'll be perfect too.....and who knows when this movie is going to be filmed....I've read that release date is 2010 which is utter nonsense, they don't even have the script and it's in the very early stages of development.

And people should stop thnking that Rob is working too hard....everyone works, some have really hard working hours, and then they have to take care of their families too.
He is doing something he loves and for someone who had hard time getting roles before this is an amazing opportunity.

I agree with you about everyone saying Rob is working too hard and needs a break. Yeah he is working hard, but he wants to. He finally is able to do exactly what he has been trying to do for years. Nobody has or can force him to take on so many movies. It's what he wants. He chooses his roles very carefully and takes each of them very seriously and I'm sure if he didn't think he could put 100% into each character he was to portray because of being over worked then he wouldn't take the part. And I am not complaining because that just means we get to see more of him. :)

Yes, that is what I'm looking forward too. I never wanted to see an actor this much in so many different roles. I'm glad he's working and I know he is a smart guy so he knows what he can or can't do.

James has filmed a James Jean documentary, so I know he is great at bringing people's story alive. He also looks alot like him. I also haven't seen him in something in a while, whereas Rob seems pretty busy lately.
But Rob is a great actor with alot of passion for the characters he portrays. Also, if there is singing involved, Rob can obviously swing that in as well.

James Franco is a wonderful actor and resembles Buckley. Rob is a wonderful actor and amazing singer/musician. This is a hard one. If the actor is going to do his own singing, then Rob, hands down. But if they're going to lip sync Buckley, then James for sure.

Definitely James Franco. Rob is cute and all but Franco a) looks more like Jeff Buckley and b) is a better actor (sorry, but it's true).

Yeah No, I dont think James Franco is a better actor. Okay he's older, but even then Rob is a better actor thats why he's getting all these roles in films. : )

Um last time I checked, James has FOUR movies coming out next year and our favorite RPatz only has two.

Rob is getting roles because he puts butts in seats as they say in the business!! He sells covers and teens scream for him, not because he's got oscar winning acting chops!!!! He's been in like three main roles in his life!!

James Franco looks SOOOO much like Jeff, and he was AMAZING in Pinnaple Express. BUT i'm thinking Rob's voice is ANGELIC, so he should sing the songs lol

Robert should get the role. He is such a talented actor, and singer. I really hope robert gets this role. He deserves it. He loves acting, and music and this will be the role he would love. So for whoever is in charge of picking the actor, and you want an actor that will give 100% pick robert. You wont regret it....... : )

Jeff Buckley is one of my favorite artists, and his death was such a tragedy. I have known for a while that they were planning on making a movie about his life. Although I am a big fan of Rob, and although I know he is a huge fan of Jeff Buckley just like I am, I think James Franco would be a better fit. I just hope he is musically talented.

I love Rob, but Franco looks like he would fit the part better. Plus, like everyone else said, Rob has SO much more opportunity for other projects.

I, honestly, think James Franco. I don't know how well he can sing, but he's an amazing actor. I would love to see him in this movie. Though, both are really talented actors, and it's not my choice, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see..

ROB has my never-ending love forever and EVER, but I must say that James looks SO much like Jeff!!! Maybe he should get casted, either way, If Rob were to get chosen, I'm POSITIVE that he'll do a great job... woohoo for whoever gets chosen!!

james franco is an excellent actor, and looks spot on like jeff buckley. but it really depends on who fits the part best not just because of looks. if there's singing involved, we all know rob can do it. but yeah, that's what auditions are for, no?

I think James looks more like Jeff Buckley. But Rob is more musical than James. Plus, Rob has a lot of movies coming up that he'll need to film. I don't think he should be working this much. James would be better.

Franco is clearly the preferred choice on the basis of appearance. Maybe Pattinson can sing... I don’t know, but it is completely irrelevant for the evident reason that despite all of Pattinson possible potential, Buckley’s voice will never be duplicated. If a biopic is created, his music will play and Pattinson’s prospective voice will not be necessary. Sorry, but Eddie is NOT the right pick... Unless of course Franco is too old; giving, naturally, the fact Buckley died at age 30 and Frankie is 31... I do not know the age portrayed in the movie, but if Ed beats my lovely it will only be fault of his birth year and not his incredible resemblance to Buckley... Just saying : )

James Franco is my fav actor, don't get me wrong Rob is a hunk.
But James has much more exprerience as an actor and can basically pull off any role.

franco. i love rob, and he has a good do for the movie, but franco just looks the part and hes in good movies too. good actor. plus rob has 2 more twilight films to do in short time span so take a lil break buddy!

James Franco should get it, he looks more like him, and even if can't sing-it's hollywood, they can make anyone sound good. Look at the Movie "walk the line" Reese Witherspoon had never sang like that (so she said in an interview) and it turned out ok.

Honestly, after looking at the picture, either one could play the role. We know James Franco is a really good actor, but can he play music and be convincing. Robert has ablilities in both acting and music and more importantly, he has a PASSION for music. I think there is the difference.
I think either way they could both play the role, I would just be curious about James' abilities or at least how he can be convincing as a musician.

I think James Franco should play the role because he looks SO much like Jeff Buckley. Although Robert is an AMAZING actor and very talented in the music department, I think they need to let him rest for a little. Especially since he's still working on filming the Twilight Saga as well as other films.
