oh la la... You know what guys?, Kristen did so many things for Rob unseen. Kristen maybe one tough girl but she is great! I sooo appreciate her. He keeps Rob grounded because she is as well. I think that RObs kind of girl is somebody like Kristen. Human as he is, he gets attracted with beautiful and sexy women but it's only upto that. Girlfriend material wise, I think he will go with someone like Kris. Very simple yet elegantly beautiful! boyish but sultry and sexy! Oh I soo love her! I think she is good for Rob and if they are together, it's good that they keep what they have low key...... As a fan, I will respect that.

It makes my heart soo happy that Rob finds a true friend in Kristen. SHe is obviously trust worthy and not some kind of hollywood fake user. WOmen has tendency to abuse Robs charm and friendliness because of his status but, with Kristen he can never go wrong. I don't judge Kristen because we saw her smoke (pot) or whatever it is. SHe is basically under the age of curiousity. A young person who wants to try things that works for her.

Rob has so many things that he wants to do, same with Kristen. They are these hollywood dreamers whom we can say as somebody who really has passion in their chosen crafts. They don't appear to me as people who are after for fame. They just want to work and excel and succeed on it. I'm happy that they are the chosen ones (twilight) because they deserve all the attention and importance that they are getting now. I know they can handle their carrier well.

If Rob and Kristen are really not together, I don't mind. I think that what really matter is that they have understanding and friendship that won't let them down. It's Kristens friendship that Rob can trust the most right now. ROb is already a good respectful person but I believe that Kristen is helping him out in a good -different way that's why he is able to handle fame righteously. And ooh, I so love those papz pics where Rob hugged Kristens mommy and mama stew touched RObs hair as if he is somebody special. Well he is for most of us. That was just great and made me happy for ROb. Rob is famous but the consequence of fame is the invasion of his privacy so he needed those family moments sometimes.lol. Another consequence is, hanging out with the wrong people that will just use his popularity for their own. I'm sure Rob realizes that . Thanks to Kristen for being there for him.

To be honest I wasn't aware at first about the whole "Robsten" phenomenon..I guess I was too obsessed with the books at first and then with Rob so I hadn't done much research on the subject aka as stalking them online LOL....anyway since I started with the whole thing I could tell straight away that he has a MAJOR crush on her(something that he has admitted to on many interviews) but KS to me always seemed distant maybe it was the BF factor or the fact that she preferred Rob as a friend and not a bf in case things don't work out she would loose friend....anyway so after much deliberation and arguing both sides here's my verdict LOL....keep in mind that I'm not discussing his side for I truly believe he has the hots for her lol but hers...I HONESTLY think KS feels more for Rob that she lets on but was or is not allowing herself to admit it.... shes in denial BIG time and the thing is that if she doesn't do something about Rob.. Mr Hotness will slip through her fingers no matter how much he likes her...he cant and he WONT be alone for eternity while he waits for her to make up her mind*NEWSFLASH* he's NOT Edward (although I secretly hope he is LOL)...so if KS doesn't wake up and smell the LUV she will regret it when she sees him in the arms of another woman..I know I WILL LOL.*Gasp--the blasphemy! I no longer think they are just friends there have been tooo many things for me to think otherwise EVEN THOUGH nothing has been made official yet so it seems like she has realized her feelings for him :D...and in regards to the Michael whats his face person C'MON whoever keeps thinking he's around is sadly mistaken..where was he at the awards? Italy? Her Birthday? I was one of the first to wonder why of all people, nikki reed was missing in mtv awards. Of all people..lol! WHere is she btw? the last photos of her was when she was with Sage and since then, she has been out of the limelight. I do know she is very good friends with Michael A. too. One of her interviews in the past that I remember was when she was told that "her role in twilight is the most beautiful vampire sort of, then the reporter asked if she sees herself as that beautiful as well." She then said that the only person that makes her feel so beautiful is Michael Angarano. Those days I think, she is still seen often with both Kristen and Michael except that it was after vancouver when the interview happened? not so sure about the date though but yeah within those period. It's weird but whatever..lol!

We also have to remember that Kristen just got back from Italy and maybe she is going to see her buddies and bf/ex-bf whatever later. There should be news regarding that anytime soon.lol! But of course, go for Rob I am! I still love Kristen no matter what. Man this girl has been with Michael Angarano all her life. Perhaps her first and only bf so far if you count the years and her age back when they started dating. Sometimes it takes one person to come into your life and bring changes. Changes that might be for the better. If ROb and Kris are together, I 'd rather not want to see them go public for now. Let time handle it and don't mind the papz...Let the papz go crazy as they already are.lol! Rob and Kris's great chemistry is enough for me - for now. But him and Nikki have been seen eating together and stuff and neither one of them came to the awards, which was weird if they were still dating and Nikki was fine with the whole Robsten thing. I know that I sound like a tabloid reporter, but at first I was completely the other side of the fence and denying anything was going on. But after seeing the photos of them together at the concert, in the limo playing footsie, seeing their behavior at the movie awards and the footage from yesterday. I've been reading and watching for some time now on the entire Twilight phenomena and yes, I too am hooked after reading the series of books twice now and contemplating a third go round lawdy! I am not a teen but a mother of 2 teenagers. I saw Twilight before I read the books and wow did my perspective change after reading them! Stephenie Meyer is an incredible writer with a magnificent talent and my hats off to her for allowing us into this world. Thank you are not words enough! (looking forward to Midnight Sun) All her characters have certainly swept me off me feet to be sure. And to be totally honest when I saw the New Moon Trailer on the MTV Movie Awards I felt giddy as a school girl! Who knew? Ha Ha!
To get to the point of the color/theme changes...I live in the area where Twilight was filmed (and very close to where the beach scenes in New Moon were filmed) The blueish colors in Twilight are very much the tone of our weather here in late fall and winter. Cloudy, dark and rainy. The movie did it justice. Given why some people cannot live here due to "Sad" (seasonal affective disorder) Hence...the "blues"
The golden colors I have seen thus far in New Moon do a good representation of spring here. Lush greens, brighter light, sunshine, more vivid colors all around. Very much in character with Jacob Black's personality and how Bella see's him keeping in theme. But.....now I'm rambling lol!
Soooooo....I love the new look and color's in New Moon, it will be stunning I am sure of it!

Amazing insight :) I was totally thinking along those lines, and that the blue is representative of Edward and the way he is cold to the touch. Edward was the main guy in Bella's life in Twilight so his colours are shown in the movie! Then the gold is representative of Jacob (and how warm he is), and Jacob is kinda the "main guy" in New Moon so he is reflected in that movie!!

But I also think that New Moon is a sad movie (compared to Twilight) so maybe the golden, warm feeling isn't fitting!?

Either way, I think New Moon will be great... and I know Twilight was great :)

Yes I also think the color choices are based on the character, Edward = blue =cold and Jacob = gold = warm.
As for New Moon being sad and the warm color not fitting, I think it does fit because as you said New Moon follows a sad story line and adding the blue tones to it would make it too depressing, I think.

I love the new golden look. Twilight was wonderful but I always thought it could look better. I think the characters look so much better in new moon light!!!! I think their style is going to look better to....more like the way I pictured it when I read the books:)

Twilight was Edward's film, it had the cold vampire nature, whereas New Moon is Jacob's film, it looks and feels warmer, i think the change will be good.

I dunno if it's really Jacob's film or Edward's film... but that is kinda true with the colors and such.

I think the blue tint makes them look a little paler.. Maybe thats part of why Catherine decided on that. She was probably having a hard time with making them pale and that helped.

and all the candles in the bday scene create a warm, homely environment which is ironic for a vampire house

I like the gold much better. The blue got really annoying after awhile. Plus it didn't make the vampires skin white, it was blue. Which is creepy. The new moon colors are just AMAZING and look way more professional too.

yes! exactly! that's what i associate with the books anyway. i think this one fits the feel of the book having to do more with the wolfpack, so it works. but even still, just the picture quality of new moon just look so much more professional than twilight. the shots just look gorgeous--and i'm sure it's due to a slightly bigger budget. yay! finally the series is getting the kind of financial support it needs! :D

I hated the blue tint in twilight, It made Edward look like the incredible hulk only in blue, you know the scene where he is driving Bella home from Port Angeles, and they did the shot off him from looking into the car, he looked so incredible hulkish in that scene I wanted to laugh my head off, infact I did LOL.

LMAO the hulk!!! It was all just wrong but we all just make do with it because it sort of captured what we felts when reading the books. The trailer though has left me thirsty for more...I keep watching it over and over...really do not know how I will last till November now!

I totally agree. The pictures look much more HQ. Something about the gold accentuates rather than the blue that distracts. I dont think the tint should go along with the mood of the movie (some people say NM should be blue to show the despair) but it should make the quality of the movie look more professional...its an easy way to make the movie look like its made with a much larger budget.

The blue can represent cool, cold. Characteristic of vampires. The brown can represent warmth, earthy. That's a characteristic of a werewolf. haha

I'm not so hot about the golden tint, because the blue tint my absolute favorite part about Twilight. It made it very deep for me, and really showed the ominous/mystical feel to the movie (after all, Twilight was all about discovering Edward and his and his family's secret). Plus, it really gave an artsy feel to it, which I loved. This is the same reason that I dislike, but also understand why New Moon has to have warmer, more golden tones to it. I miss the mystical element of the blue hue (it gives it a more surreal feeling which I really love), but the golden hue is important to show the difference in mood in New Moon. New Moon is all about the werewolves, therefore warm. After all, all the comparisons Bella makes has her comparing Edward to ice (blue), and Jacob to warm (golden hue), and New Moon is about discovering of the werewolves. So though I hate it personally, I love the symbolism of the different hues connected to the different books. I have to say though...more than anything, I HATE JASPER'S and ALICE'S NEW HAIR!! Jasper's wig is so ugly, and he and alice looked so much better in Twilight. I hope to god it looks better in the movie overall.

I think that the paleetes are symbolic of the characters. In twilight it was Edward's turn with bella, and he is symbolic of coldness as he is a vampire, so it was perfect that the palette was blue. In New moon, its Jacob;s turn in Edwards absence. The two of them are polar opposites, edward is a vampire, Jacob is a werewolf, Edward is cold and Jacob is hot (temperature wise). So, Jacob being the epitomy of warmth, and NEW MOON being about him, it is perfect that the palette is a tint of gold, giving it a nice warm glow. Was it done intentially? We;ll never know, but i think it has great smbolic significance, and its gonna make the movie even more authentic and awesome. I wonder what the tint will be for eclipse....?

Ladies and Gentleman, let the rumours begin!!! Its actually something that I don't even want to share my opinion on because I don't know what to think... I'm thinking though, it's their personal lives' and frankly I feel guilty even looking at that! I have no opinion on the matter... I don't want to say whether I think they are together or not because I reckon it just provokes more, unneccessary rumours...

I totally agree with you. No matter how much we all would love to see them together in real life. No matter how much better watching New Moon would be knowing the feelings where genuine. I can't help but feel all this media and fan speculation and interference will damage any chances of a relationship developing. Everyone pushing them together can only push them apart. They want to be in control of there own lives and love choices.
The other thing that bothers me is, if they did get together at this stage. How will that effect the future saga? For one the whole sexual tension between Bella and Edward is based on desperately wanting to, but not being able. If they are getting it on (so to speak) in real life. Will that effect the tension/(wanting) on screen? We all know those first few intimate moments before you finally do become full on loves are the most electric!
Also if they do become a couple and it ends up burning out, the saga has got to be affected. How would they recreate that tension on screen after a brake up. Not saying that would happen as they have been friends long enough to know there feelings for each other. But they are young and young love glows bright, but can burns out.
I hope they do get together. But I think it would be better to wait until after they finish the twilight saga. Keep that anticipation going. And I really would want it to last if they did fall for each other. There's more chance of that when the media spot light isn't so focused on them because of twilight.
If it's all as they both keep saying "just friends" I feel sorry for them and for her BF Michael. I like Rob and Kristen enough to believe what they say is true. Until they say different.

i think the golden look makes the vampires white skin more apparant in a good way. they don't look as washed out. this film has a more elegant feel to it. im very impressed so far. just fyi, i still LOVE twilight though. lol.

Personally, I prefer the blue tones, visually. However, for this movie I can see why they switched to gold. This movie is through Bella's eyes so through much of Twilight she is not a happy camper. In New Moon, she's discovered Edward. It falls apart when he leaves her for a few months. I wonder if they are going to emphasize how long Bella is depressed in the movie. Really great insight there. Jacob is her personal sun so that makes sense for them to make things brighter. I don't know if it was done for that reason though.. Director probably just liked the feel of it better. I think everything looks a lot sharper without the blue and I love it.

I agree with you completely. I could go on forever about the symbolism, the complexity of it and why it's important. I personally like the blue tint better, but I think the fact that the colors are symbolic to the characters and therefore the change in mood to the two movies make the saga better as a whole. What the particular colors do for individuals as far as making them look better or worse is a whole different aspect, and not one that I think was in the director's minds. At least, if it was, I don't know what the hell they were thinking lol.

i don't know. i didn't really like the blue tint in twilight. because it was very, VERY depressing. and that's not good considering twilight is about FINDING and DISCOVERING true love.

and the golden tint in new moon is a little too bright for my taste. i think they could have toned the color down a bit. they shouldn't have went with golden just cause it matches the aura of the wolves. new moon is about LOSING love and i think they could have used muted or subtle colors.

i also think golden should be for breaking dawn because you know, its like the beginning and rising of a new day (new dawn) because bella delivers a child and she turns into a vampire thus making it all bright which makes golden the perfect color.

and they can use maybe red or purple for eclipse.

I agree w/ you that the blue was depressing. Maybe they were trying to stay in line with the gloomy weather in Forks? Either way, I'm really impressed with the gold in New Moon. It's still depressing when it needs to be. I thought the scene w/ Laurent, with all that dead grass surrounding them, was incredibly gloomy.

yeah that scene with laurent worked out quite well. even with the bright tint.
the atmosphere of the situation bella was in helped the scene.

and i thought of another reason why i think they chose gold. you see, most of the book happens in the spring season. and spring is not really dark and gloomy and sad and dark and gloomy and yeahh.. and it really wouldn't work out if they used depressing colors for new moon since the book is really centered on jacob's werewolf ties with bella. and gold would make a better color match with the wolves. but idk. there was a darker tint in the official still with shirtless, wet Jacob.

New Moon - scenes with Edward leaving should be a little blue. Maybe not to the degree of Twilight (they are shot differently afterall) but I felt as though the images, sound and dialogue from just the clip didn't convey the emotion of the break up, looked a little cheesy. Felt like an episode of 7th Heaven.

I thought in Twilight, Bella looked more like a vampire than Edward (whoever does Rob's makeup needs to consider blending it down the neck too to hide the tan colouring). I like the blue for effect of the coldness but when I think of Italy and spring, etc, I can only see it associated with the gold.

I think that if Hardwicke had the budget that Weitz has Twilight would have been much better. they didn't give her much to work with. I think she did a good job with what she had. Hardwicke had to call ILM (industrial light & magic) to get the sparkle at a discounted price. Now they can pay for Diamonds!!

i think the blue tint goes well with twilight, because if you look at the promotional stuff for twilight, the font color was blue.

and the golden tint for new moon is great because the font color for the new moon promotional stuff is golden/orangeish.

I prefer the gold tints! It makes the screen seem warmer and warmer colors can make you feel more easily bonded to characters which in turnn will make you more upset if something happens to that character.

I actually think that the Golden tone brings more of an Earthy, Naturey feel, and isn't Forks covered in green and earth?? I didn't like how the trees didn't look green in Twilight. I think that in the images above [or what we've seen of New Moon so far] makes "Forks" look more realistic and natural. The blue just made every thing look foggy, and fake.

yeah...i agree about the break-up scene that it should be more blue-ish. when i picture the general surroundings of Forks, the forest, rain, etc the way Bella describes everything in the books, i don't really see 'vibrant and sunny.' especially with the break-up...it should feel cold and sad and icy i think...definitely more blue than warm gold!

but there's pros and cons about both...the blue tint to me fit my vision of Forks and made the vampires look more like vampires (pale, cold, colorless). but it definitely got kind of bland to look at after an hour and a half.

but i do agree that the gold definitely makes everything soo much more real and visually stunning- especially with all the werewolf-iness. and who wants to see Bella's "personal sun" shrouded in sad blue tones?

i definitely think the gold will overall be a good change from twilight. only down-side, at least what it seems from the trailer, is that the vampires look alot more human and less vampire-ish. but i'm sure we'll all get over that fairly soon into the movie :)

It does look way more professional. its not really all that gold is just that Twilight was really kinda blue-ish. i liked it for twilight though. But yeah new moon does look way more professional. and the gold was mostly only for her birthday. i dont think it will be that much throughout the movie.

i thought that too at first, but when we saw jacob running, a lot of it was golden brown. and when bella met laurent again, they were standing in a field where the grass was all dead and it was...golden brown.

Twilight and New Moon are to different things.

In Twilight the Blue Tint was appropriate in simblizing the dream like fantsy sate that Bella was in and how she felt like the whole thing had to be a dream concidering how unreal Edward and the Cullens were to her and to everyone eles.

In New Moon shes more wanting everything to be real. When Edward leaves she is determined to keep the memories of him alive refusing to think of him or the Cullens as a mer dream. She wants to be in the world and tries everything to make Edward "appear" to her again (towards the middle and end of the book).

Both are good ways of bringing the right feel and atmosphere to the movie from the book.

the gold is better

I think the blue makes everything more pale which for vampires is a good thing, but the golden hue isn't bad.

I like the gold cause it makes it look more professional... but it also makes it look warmer which isn't the feel of the books, or I guess of Forks.

But they could freaking do it in magenta and I would still love it!

I like that the films have different shading. That's what it was like when I read the books (I tend to read books in various colours), like Twilight was blue and grey, New Moon was sort of orange, Eclipse was green and Breaking Dawn was white. I think it's great that they have different hues for each film.

I like them both as is. I think the blue went well with Twilight, and the gold will go well with New Moon!

And I'm loving the gold, it's gorgeous! It makes everyting so clear looking. :D

I think that the gold tint really makes the colors richer. I thought that the blue tint in Twilight was
great but made it seem too depressing when the tone was supposed to be light and happy.
I think that the golden tint is better because it makes everything look more professinal and
better visually too. I also think that the music and acting will play a bigger part in establishing
the tone since the blue tint won't darken the mood.
That's just my thoughts. Sorry for rambling. =)

I love the new gold tint. Looks brighter and the vampires actually look white. A great improvement from the first movie.

the gold tint makes it seem more like a big-studio-production-kind-of-movie whereas the blue tint made twilight seem rather low-budge/indie (like better filming/editing equipment produces the finished gold look more easily whereas the blue can be produced with cheaper equipment)...and i think it makes the green forest look much more vivid and makes bella look more human...i dunno, that's what i think at least.

Sometime ago I check out the original trailers from Twilight on the official DVD site and they scenes were more golden. It looks like they added more of that colder, more blue tone during the editing of the movie. I actually liked it better the way it was before the final movie.

It would be good if like it was all gold and happy then Edward leaves then it gets darker and then Jacob becomes more of a presence in Bella's life and then it gets gold again and then it gets dark when Alice and Bella go to save Edward and then they do and it is gold again.

i think i prefer the gold.. probably cos its new and exciting.. wheras the blue iv seen over and over from watching twilight a million times.. (which i will never get sick off)

I like the Gold Tint. The Blue Tint bugs me, frankly. Every time I watch Twilight, the blue gets on my nerves. It's crazy how differnt the two tints are though.

Like I said, I like the gold. However...it makes Forks seem more sunny. The newest Jake picture with him standing in the rain is the first thing with rain that we have seen. Forks is the rainiest place in the continental U.S. We need rain! That is my only problem with the movie thus far. And I think it will stay my only problem. Obviously there will be more rain.

ALSO...I think the gold tint goes with the Native American concept to the movie. Overall...I LOVE the gold...compared to the blue, anyway!

omg...you are my soulamte- ha ha. I hated that lipstick too. I mean what were they thinking. The book never says anything about the color of his lips....it just talks about his crooked smile. You should have seen the hate mail i got the first time I said I wish they'd put a little make up on her......."she's supposed to be plain." I was like come on people there is way to wear makeup w/ o looking like you are wearing makeup. They could have least given her some chapstick at very minimum. It looks as if they accomplished the makeup w/o looking like makeup in NM. Plus, there are plenty of people that are gorgeous but choose to be 'plain' (it's called natural beauty people) which is exactly the situation w/ Bella. There must a reason every guy in the school is lined up......and I think that's how Edward puts it too. I think Iam done w/ my soapbox-ha ha!!

Chris is not using a different filter. He is probably using a different kind of film. Fugi film, which is less expensive, is probably what CH used (it makes sense with the lower budget), and it also has a blue tint to it. Whereas Kodak film, which is more expensive, has a more orange/yellow tint to it. It's also what more films use, so it's probably why we don't like the blue...we're not used to seeing movies with the blue tint.

I believe KH actually mentions in the "making of'" portion of the DVD that she used a special filter to make it darker and then actually went back with CGI to darken even more sections......I wasn't opposed to it in certain instances like the ballet studio but it wasn't need all the time....But I'm no expert and don't have alot of experience with indie films

I read in the book about making the movie that they intentionally colored the movie to give it a blue tint. It was intentionally created.

The blue tint makes the vampires blend a little better. In New Moon, the vampires now look pasty and fake. I would have gone with the blue myself. I'll half to like the golden tint now, won't I? We have no choice. I was wondering what the difference was and couldn't pin point it. Thanks!

I agree that the gold tint makes colors richer. However, now there is less difference between human skin and vampire skin. The blue tint made vampires look blue-white, cold (remember they are cold blood creatures). Though I like colors in New Moon better, I think they could make Cullens look paler, colder. IMHO :)

I just wana give my little input on my opinion of the colours - which makes sense to me.

With the first movie, it was more about Vampires, which are seen as cold and marble-skinned. So that blue effect gave the theme to the Vampires completely and I personally think it was a good way to play out the colour scheme.

Now with new moon, Bella describes Jacob as having a woodsy-musky scent and she mentions that it fits the scenery in the woods (I know that part is from Eclipse but that's the way she describes him, regardless.) so saying all that, I believe that the more Golden tint represents that the movie is made to fit with the Werewolves. Which is true - the second book had more Werewolves then Vampires.

So I think that both colour schemes were thought out and done that way intentionally to show the difference between the stories!

I also completely agree with this. Both were done with symbolic meanings behind them. The only thing that sucks is how the golden tint makes certain things look where it looked better with the blue tint. Gotta love symbolism. At least it shows the directors have this in mind thought when they're making the movie! That in itself makes me happy.

I think Twilight is all about the vampire and the blue tint definitely gave it an eerie edge for Bella's first foray into the paranormal world. New Moon is all about the warmth (aka, sanity) Jacob brings Bella. He's her sun. The golden tones portray that.

love the new one. I didn't like the blue tint even though they were supposed to be pale I think there was a way they could have pulled that off other than using the blue tint. It didn't do anything for Kristen. Looks much prettier here.

I am going to basically say the same things everyone else has said. I initially really liked the blue hue to Twilight, but after watching it fifty million times, I got sick of it. I know that it was for the vampires and the mood and all that.

New Moon needed a massive change just because so many people were disappointed with Twilight. The gold hue is amazing and vibrant looking. And I personally think the vampires look so much better because you can tell the difference between them and the humans. In Twilight Bella and all the other humans looked like vampires because everyone was pale.

The golden hue also makes the movie look better made. It doesn't make everything look cheap. The Cullens are supposed to be rich and wealthy and have the nicest clothes. In Twilight, this did not come across to me. In New Moon trailer, they actually look like they are wealthy with this new golden hue.

I like the tones to both movies in their respected ways. I'm wondering if the tone will change in New Moon depending on the emotions of Bella. Someone said it is "Jacob's" film, but personally, I think it is also Bella's as well. I would like to see Chris capture Bella's desperation and depression...I have a feeling it will be through the acting and music as opposed to the "color tone" of the film. I like the gold tone because it does look more professional. I wonder what color Breaking Dawn would be...

What I liked about Twilight the first time I watched it was the photography, the colors created an atmosphere that I really loved, because it made the movie different from other movies.

The blue tint made me felt that Forks was a cold rainy place... just how it is described in the book. I also liked how the cameras moved. I think that's Catherine's style, it was similar to her other movie Thirteen ( i love that movie!).

Now with New Moon I feel like the movie looks just like any other movie with a big production, more money... And Twilight didn't have a big budget, so they had to be creative to make a good film.

I'm sure people will prefer the gold tint. Maybe I prefer the blue tint because i love everything related to art... sometimes dark things can be beautiful, not everything needs to be yellow, pink, orange...

yeah catherine's cinematography is pretty down to earth feeling (not photography, that would imply still frames, although the stills from the first set were AMAZING)

Yeah you're right... i wasn't sure if it was photography or cinematography... in spanish we use "fotografía" as still frames and as atmosphere of a movie.

yeah only english feels the need to show off by creating a thousand words that mean the same thing, its irritating actually, i have no idea how ppl learn the language. including native speakers (though notice, most of us barely speak it properly)

honey spanish is far a way more rich in words and complexity than english...english is an easy language to learn...practical, short, economic language...that is the reason because is a worldwide language

i agree with both of you completely. I LOVE CH's cinematography. I think many ppl like the feeling of "just any other movie", or what other ppl would consider to be "normal", but i liked the blue tint because it made it different from other movies. It gave it real depth.

Laurent scene is big disappointment I remember reading the part and holding my breath visually I pictured gloomy sad & yes a bluish-foggy atmosphere but bam WTF it was sunny, standing outside in what seem to be a field of hay? It's hard to be scared when it's bright outside watching that scene I needed to be scared so I was completely dissapointment that it didn't work for me

watching the trailer to tell you the truth I thought it was pretty bland it didn't convey no emotion in me visually. The only part that got me excited was Jacob showing up & turning into a wolf

I AGREE with all you guys in favor of the blue tint the whole mood visual artistic feel is a big part in conveying emotion in me. I guess people don't understand that. I Hate to say this hugh but Twilight saga are starting to feel and look like mainstream movies blah *crying inside* I miss CH =(

The thing that pissed me off most about the trailer was Jasper's and Alice's (and even Edward's) hair. Especially Jasper's. The wig looks really fake and really bad. And I miss Alice's spikey hair...it was more pixielike, which is more how she is described by Bella. So, I agree with you...between the lack of emotion through the lack the of blue tint, and this almost de-characterization for me by the changed hair, the movie is starting to feel more mainstream to me. I hate that. Twilight is not mainstream, and anyone who reads the book and gets it, knows that it's emotional, complex, and not meant to be mainstream. It pisses me off and really makes me miss CH as well :-(.

Staying with the blue would've made more sense. It gave the movie a sense of darkness, and... I don't know. Just like there's something else.

I think its ok for them to do that. Twilight's setting is suppose to be during winter right? And New Moon is spring? So I guess It was good for them to change that.

Originally in twilight i wasnt sure that the blue tint was entirely intentional because blue-green is the color cast on cloudy/rainy days but then you can hear on the cast commentary that the indoor shots are color casted too... but i think its clever, its implying that forks is so rainy that even indoors you cant escape that gloom. new moon isnt exactly happier so i dont know why a gold hue but it does seem that bella's outside more and jacob's all metaphorical of the sun so maybe thats what theyre going for.

I knew there was something about they way they filmed Twilight that annoyed me. Now i know what it is! Yeah, the gold tint looks much better. I think it will be very different to see New Moon with the gold tint after we have seen Twilight with the blue tint. but it will be a good change.

I feel the blue tint was necessary for Twilight. I guess it was just a way to show people [who've never read the books] just how gloomy and dull everything is. Plus, it makes the vampires look a bit paler.

I'm REALLY happy about the "golden" coloring though.

i actually like that its a different color on each movies. If you noticed with the title 'twilight' it has like a blueish glow, then with new moon, its has a golden glow. so it matches, you know?LOL!

Twilight is more focused on the Cullen which means that it must be a kind of dark and cold atmosphere.
But new moon deals mostly with the quilleutes. The atmosphere is, from my point of view, warmer which perectly fits with this gloden glow

Sometimes I feel like I'm in the minority on this, but I have always seen Eclipse as "the funny" book... love the banter, and the bickering, and the confrontations within it... I know, the new borns attack, but that's not till the end, and even then, it's not "that long" of a battle, and there's still more bantering within that. Love that book, can't wait to see what David does with it.

i absolutely agree with you. When I saw that part of the trailer I was distracted by the color because it didnt seem to fit the mood of the moment. Personally, I loved the blue tint, it made the movie feel different and really conveyed the cold, wet, gloominess of Forks and made the vamps look just slightly "off" as they should be. One of my favorite parts of Twilight is the beginning when you see Bella in "Phoenix" (actually, my old neighborhood in Northern LA county!) and the plane takes off and everything is bright and then the camera zooms over a mountain peak, and boom! cold, blue, snowy "Twilight!" It was like suddenly being submerged into another world. Oh well, but that's just my opinion.

I know! it was GORGEOUS and portrayed the feeling PERFECTLY. i love the dreary, wet, and lush feel of washington, and that it should definitely be portrayed in the movie. the white was a bit to white in twilight, but i think with the new makeup job if they had the blue tint it would be PERFECT.

The warm tones work well for the wolves, but not for the vamps. I think the Cullens looked better - more like vampires - with the blue tones, plus it makes Edward look/feel cold. Twilight was very stylized and I like it. The warms tones make it look just like any other movie. I wish they had mixed the tones.

The new colour palette works in well with Italy, and I guess with wolves, but the blues and greens suit the setting far better.

I think the reason they got the golden tint like for this movie is because of the clothes they're wearing. I noticed they have dark like clothes on the upcoming movie as opposed to the first one. But if you ask me, I like the New Moon's tint. It made the characters and surroundings look real, detailed, and more beautiful. I like the forest scene, as the book stated, it's too green ---- an alien planet.

I noticed the tinting changes too! I quite liked the blue tint for Twilight, as it suited the coldness of it all -the Forks weather and the vampires ;) ..The gold tint should work well with New Moon, as it shows the warmth -this time meaning the werewolves and Jacob being like Bella's "personal sun". My initial thought was that New Moon would have a dark and gloomy tint to match the rather depressing story... But I think it's all looking great! They know what they're doing :)

I think the blue tint is better for the atmosphere of forks. That is one of the reasons why I don't think New moon will live up to the hype of twilight. Also, If they stick to changing the color tone of every movie, eclipse should be red and breaking dawn should be blue again.

I like the golden tint to the movie. I always did think that the bluish hue to twilight made the cullens look a little creepy and that wasn't how I imagined them in my mind. I loved twilight but I think the golden tint to New Moon is a good choice. After all The Cullens aren't supposed to look like the "traditional" gothic kind of vamps. They are cultured and well dressed and absolutely beatiful like they just stepped out of a fashion magazine.

well it depends on where your at in Washington.... it does actually get sun. I live in Washington, so i know too. But see like today where i live in WA, it was 85 degrees, and tomorrow its gonna be 90 degrees! So it actually does get sun, but just because Forks is on the very, very Northern part of the Washington peninsula, it always gets the clouds from of the Pacific. oh and BTW i just checked the weather for Forks... its going to be 80 degrees and sunny tomorrow.......

BUT, i do agree with you that the forest scene does look like its in california or something. cause even if it is 85 degrees in washington and you go into the forests or woods, they are still very dark and wet! And that scene in the forest looks hot! haha i wish Washington's woods were like that :)

just love the book wink, as they did on twilight, on the first movie we got the apple scene, on this one you can see the bloody flowers on the back, just as in the book cover (well kind of, but i can see some resemblence)

I think the tan print is appropriate because they are dealing with more woodsier scenes with the wolfs and the brown skin of the guys in the pack. The greenish tint wouldn't work. Chris made a smart decision. It should also be a softer color because of the deeper scenes - Bella's depression. I like it.

I like New Moon tint because it's the same as the posters, and the Twilight tint of the posters was blue and so was the movie. I think that they should make Eclipse more of a reddish/brownish tint and Breaking Dawn pinkish/maroon/darkish yellow. [Press Like if you agree]

Wow. I'm *extremely* disappointed about the change in tint. I've been sick and just now got to view the clip and read here about the change in tinting....its sooo sad. I absolutely loved the tinting in Twilight, the icy-ness is what lured you into their world of the undead. It fit. Plus, the book covers are all black, white with shots of red - the movie should be shades of gray. I'll never forget the forest scenes and how green they looked in comparison to the rest of the movie, for me, it was reflective of how their love and fascination for one another came alive there. Looks like New Moon has started off with no-no from me.

i really like more the blue..but still like the golden color...now about other aspects i don't like the way that they are dressing up edward...why it has to be that kind of fabric is so ugly...edward is a 17 years old boy...he suppouse to wear clothes like a 17 year old person...why dressing up him like a 40 and someting...i don't like it...robert is so gorgeous u can throw anything on him and it will look ok...but seriously i love how they dressing him up in twilight...i tought that they will improve that a little bit more...but i can see they change the style and it's make him look too older for me.
PS: I do really like twilight and i really think catherine did a very good job...like in all kind of business...women has to prove with hard work and sometimes with not help, or a good support what we can do...she worked with a very little budget traying to do the best that she could do...and i think that she did...she was capable to bring all the tension of this love story in a couple good scenes that for me were priceless...she could have done a much better job with the right budget.

I agree about Catherine. She seems so whimsical by nature that she was a perfect fit for the twilight series. She seems a little weak in other areas (maybe making a few more takes of a scene). But I think she has wonderful visionary traits. She just needed more cha=ching and better special effects people. BUT, this is also one of the reasons I love the blue tint...she used it, this 'aura', as an enhancer to a movie that was going to be a low budget, gift to the fans kind of thing. I don't know...its kinda like that unique puppy in the litter...you are just drawn to it.

And if you notice he is wearing the same clothes when he leaves her in the forest which is probably because is so depressed in the movie that he doesn't even think to change his clothes. I don't think we can make judgements on the movie from a 1 minute clip.

I think it's way better. everytime I watch twilight I have a reflex to take it to photoshop and redo the whole thing - just to have the color balanced right! they all look sick in blue. its just weird. I was hoping for a change of this sort in the next movies, and happy they made it :)

i like both tints to each movie, and im sooooo glad they change New Moon to have a golden tint. i think its gunna be a good representative of Jake being her sun....

i think they did it because in twilight it was about edward, hes a vampire cold and pale thats the blue tint.
the gold warm tint is now jacob cuz he is very warm being a werewolf and its mostly about him.

I just wanted to say that the different colour-shemes in the two very different movies are ok! because in twilight it was edward of whom the story was about (think about his body temperature....he is cool...and so does the colour tint describe him) and in new moon the story is more about jacob (now his body temperature? :D hot of course)...so i think the different colour shemes describes perfectly of which person the film is about....
BUT i liked the blue tint a little more because it described this dangerous atmosphere...i love that! :P

To me "New moon" isn't that golden, it just looks more like a natural color. You can see it in the picture with Bella and Edward in the woods and Jacob's too.
The one at the Cullen's house with Charlisle and Bella is warmer because of the candles.
So for me New Moon just looks natural.

I liked the blue in Twilight, it gave it a certain atmosphere, but I think it was a bit too much. If it was more subtle it would be better.
But generally I didn't have a problem with it.

I just wanted to say that I visit this page at least 3 times a day and it's great!!!

ugh i hate having to disagree w/ u people but i kind of really like the blue one. it reminds me how i pictured the atmosphere to look. And besides when Edward left, Bella was sad and depressed so i think the weather should look gloomy and cold idk its just my opinion.

I think it is beautiful. Living here in Washington I was so excited to see all the color. Yes it does get dark and gloomy but the green is always green and beautiful.
I beleive Chris said he wanted to shoot more classic and renaissance. It looks like he did just that which in a way is very cool. To take a new modern romance and shoot it big vast and colorful like a Jane Austen movie.
I will be bringing Tissue for sure.

ya know.. ok blue tint.. blue is more of an indie kind of colouring.. like ok yes twilight was incredible.. it shows bella when she is unsure of who she is.. and edward when he is unsure of whether or not he can control his thirst for her.. blue is a very unsure colour.. it can either be a happy or sad one.. blue is amazing like that.. but as well take in catherine hardwickes other movies.. i love lords of dogtown, it as well has that indie tint,. like filmed with a handheld......
now that bella is more sure and such.. getting to be more comfy in her skin and such.. no wonder the tint gets changed.....
all in all. twilight was more of a 'i dont know myself, so lets show it indie style' while summit knows now the rest cannot look like that, so it is time to step up the game and make it look way more professional... new moon looks like how i pictured the series to look.. amazing, beautiful and just full of life....

rob pattison is an amazing actor.. i have thought that since seeing him in harry potter.. i know only amazing things will happen for him!!!! he is gorgeous yes.. but it seems like his personality, taste in music, and all around awkwardness and shyness make him this absolutely amazing man...
i know that as this series (despite how much i want to say this) kristen shall become more of a bella,,, she will do an amazing job being heartbroken in new moon, being terrified yet head over heels in love in eclipse.. macking on jacob and falling for him, preggers in breaking dawn and the most.. being immortal and rocking the vamp look as well!
i love this series more than life.... and i know that the movies are going to be amazing..who cares about tint..its about the content and how we the absolute lovers of the series see it...

I think they should use both. In her birthday scene, they better use golden one. But for Laurent scene, Edward saying goodbye, and The Volturi they better use Blue tone for more mysteriousness touch to the movie.

Due to the subject content of New Moon, I think that the colors should have been reversed. Twilight was a happy illuminating time where they meet and fall in love, where New Moon is a sad depressing time of lonliness and despair. That's my opinion anyway.

I was over the blue tint, I felt like I was under hospital lights watching it the entire time.. so Im thrilled with the change yay!

I think they've got it totally right. If you think about it in Twilight Bella had moved to the rainy old town of Forks, missing her mum and discovering that Vampires are roaming the streets. The blue tint suited Twilight and as someone has already said, blue is good to show uncertainty. Even at the end of Twilight it's uncertain whether Bella will become a vampire or not (I know we all know what happens but for those that haven't you see my point).

In New Moon Bella and Edward are in love and together at the start of the film and then he leaves her. Bella is suddenly left with this gaping hole in her chest and everything would feel very vivid and disorientating to her, like ripping off a blindfold. It needs to be bright, like there's no where for her to hide - Edward has left her, he doesn't want her and he's never coming back! If there was still the blue tint it would feel like Edward and the Cullens were still in forks, still too present! By making New Moon bright and colourful it will make the film more depressing, like Edward had never existed. Also, don't forget that Jake radiates warmth, not just literally but like he's Bella's personal sunshine - you can't portary that with blue tint.

I think CW has got this spot on, the colours look amazing!!!

i can only assume that they did this to represent that its a "warmer" movie being that its more focused on the relationship jacob and bella have rather than the relationship edward & bella have. The temperature differences between edward & jacob are constantly spoken of in the books so what not show it in a more literal way my changing the visual color of the movie :) They did the same thing w/ the colors of the movie logos (Twilight with that icy pale blue while the one for New Moon is the warmer golden yellow) ...

boy I don't know I REALLY liked the blue tint in Twilight, I guess as long as it still has a 'unique' mysterious feel- almost unsettling but in a really good way!, the same way twilight did, it will be good - that was one of my favorite subtle effects in twilight as I think it really separated it from other movies - so hopefully in the golds it will have that same feel........I agree with everyones assessment of the symbolism, but I think more important is how the movie looks/feels - and then if it symbolically matches - super! I feel confident it will..........

The gold tint looks a million times better!! Thats one thing i couldn't stand about the first movie, and how it all was filmed. They all look so beautiful now... like they should have in the first movie.

Catherine did a wonderful job. She used the blue tint to introduce Bella's new wet rainy home, the loneliness of leaving her mother, and the world of the vampires.

Chris has a different movie to make. This movie is about light. Both with the introduction of the wolves and the light coming back in to her life.

The color change is perfect but that doesn't diminish the great job Catherine did.

I only liked the blue tint in the landscape aerials anyway. The gold tint is warmer and makes the makeup work better for the characters. As far as comments about Micheal not being at the MTV awards, no one in the cast brought their significant others, even married cast members like Peter Facinelli. The cast celebrated their achievements together. I have no idea if Rob and Kris are together, they are certainly friends and have bonded over sharing the Twilight juggernaut together. I'm glad they have each other. Having said that, I can't stand Kristen as an actress. I'm sorry, but her performance is underwhelming. Watch her movies. She has the same facial expression answering the door in "Jumper" as she does playing someone with severe physical disabilities causing facial ticks in "The Cake Eaters" as she does playing Bella in Twilight, as she did accepting awards at the MTV awards. Seriously, shouldn't you see a different facial expression between Bella and a girl with severe physical impairments that cause facial ticks??? She is exactly the same in everything, even though her roles have been varied. That's not good acting, I'm sorry.

Does anyone else think Carlisle looks completely awesome in that shot?! I reckon he's the most vamp-looking of the lot! Totally rocking the vamp chic...

Hmm for the colour I kinda think that it should reflect Bellas mood throughout the film...like start of golden cos shes in a happy place, then drain some of the colour when Edward leaves...then as she starts to feel more human again around Jake they should add the warmer tones back in... Whatdya reckon?

I think blueish tones at the beginning of the movie will make a soft transition between the icy vampire world and the golden wolfie world, which makes an interesting point of view in the movie. I am sure we are all gonna love the new colour focus .. but I'll surely miss the blue .. cuz I always do ;)

I like the gold tint. Jacob brings a warmth and life to the picture. Also with the gold tint, you see just how pale Edward is compared to Bella. In Twilight Bella looked vampiresk also. I doubt Fork is really so blue all the time - even if it's overcast most of the time, there can still be a warmth/fullness of color in the day.

The color difference was the first thing I noticed! I think it helps show the contrast in Edward's color. He looks much whiter...Peter (Carlisle) looks great in any light :-)

The gold tint is beautiful, too. I almost feel like, if there was going to be a color scheme, maybe New Moon should have been the darker one? It's supposed to be the darkest time in Bella's life, so that could have been fitting.

When seeing the color difference side by side I prefer the gold tones.

I love the new color scheme! The blue in Twilight was a very good representation of how Bella felt about Forks. It was gloomy and drab. It was also is good representation of Edward, it makes me think of the heart shaped diamond he gave her in Eclipse. The color scheme for New Moon is also very suiting it is a great representation of Jacob, which reminds me of the mini wolf carving that Jacob gave her and how she always called him her own personal sun.

I think that they changed the color schemes because:
1. In Twilight, Bella was mainly focused on Edward. You know Edward, skin cold as ice; pale as snow. Thus, blue tint
2. In New Moon Bella is focused on Jacob, since there is no Edward. Jacob, with his skin as hot as fire; dark, russet skin. Thus, gold tint.

That's just my take on it. Who knows, maybe there'll be a purple tint in Eclipse! Maybe red for Breaking Dawn! LOL, but who knows... :)

hummmm..... well if you think about it, the twilight title colour was blue. And the new moon title colour is gold... i think there is a link.

It looks different for sure, more warm, but makes great contrast with the vampires' paleness.

This colour makes it look like a real big-budget movie, more professional, it actually reminded me of "Interview with the Vampire". But the tint is not the most important.

I like the blue tint, but I feel like the gold tint makes it feel more real and makes the vampires look more pale, because as you can see in the image, Bella and Edward look the same skin tone... and I get that Bella is pale, but they are meant to be REALLY pale... so I think the gold complements it nicely. I like it.

the first movie was about the vampires (blue: a cold color), new moon involves a great part of werewolves (gold: is more cozy, like the forest, the wolve´s skin, besides their body temperature is warmer than normal) all of this is what i think that the different colors mean!!!

the twilght blue tint was so weird. i didnt like it at all and i dont know why they did it. i dont feel like new moon has a gold tint. i just feel like its normal. which is wayyy better.

I think the golden tone of the film is much better, especially for the effects with the wolves....
I mean, the fur of the wolves is mostly in warm tones, so that would be great with the new color sheme....
And by the way....I think the quality of the whole film has improved a lot in comparison to twilight.

New moon looks hundred times more professional and artistic though. Very deep and intimate colours.

If you remember, Jacob is Bella's sunshine... so obviously they went with the golden sunshine hue.

When I first started watching Twilight, I thought my TV was going bad because everything has that blue tint. I really like the golden tone better.

Well I think they (based on the color schemes) are very unique. Twilight was very (and I quote, "cold, wet..." like Edward Cullen... In Twilight she is moving from Phoenix to a place she absolutely dreads, a place where clouds and rain is the forecast everyday. Not to mention eventually she falls in love with the snow white pale and hard as a rock Edward. (btw I'm TEAM EDWARD)
In New Moon Edward leaves her to protect her from the Vampire world, and she confides in Jacob, a complete opposite to Edward. Jacob has russet skin, and descends from wolves, a born enemy to the vampires. Not to mention he is hot... hot in the meaning of body temperature. (but yes he is physically hot as well)
Edward Cullen= Cold= Blue Tint
Jacob Black= Hot= Gold Tint
I think both color schemes represent the movie. I have no idea what schemes they are going to get for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn! that a tough break! lol

Look at the color Changes like this:

Blue is a cool relaxing color. Like beginnings. Edward and other vampires are the first to come into Bella's life. Edward=equals cold. Or Blue. All Bella sees of Forks is a cold always rainy place that makes her 'blue'. In beginnings there is nothing wrong [minus the run in with james and co] So the feeling is cold and calm.

In New Moon Life for Bella is more alife, so its all Golden. A warm Color. She feels at home and nothing is going wrong, until Edward leaves. Minus the fact that Edward Leaves, she meets Jake, her best friend. He always wants to make her smile, and he would do everything in his heart to keep her heart warm. When Jake turns into a werewolf and Bella meets the rest of the wolves, Unlike the vampires they are Warm. Like a warm color like Gold.

the blue tint makes the room look icy cold u know. i mean i know thats how they feel, but the golden tint makes the home/room look more inviting and warm which fits the cullens personality more because they don't want to be monsters

i think i like the gold tint because it makes things look more vivid and real. the blue-ish tint was annoying to me because it made everything look dull and kind of boring. i think the golden tint is happier. catherine we all know you wanted the movie to be more vampire-like and cold but the coloring disappointed me.

ademas, el dorado hace parecer mas viejos a los actores, cosa que no conviene, ya que son bastante mayores para la edad que representan...mal cambio en mi opion
