I have zero ill feelings toward Taylor for not mingling. If it was his publicists call then it was her call, not his. Who knows why but it does seem odd.

I don't have ill feelings toward him either. If I'm upset with anyone, it's the people working for him. Even then, I can't be mad if there's a good reason, like he was exhausted or overwhelmed or something. But even at that, it couldn't have been too bad for him. This event was SO chill. The celebs just had some quick photos taken with the press for 2 minutes, disappeared for about 10 minutes for interviews or something, then just milled around and getting cocktails, and browsing the silent auction booths. There were rarely even approached, because I'll bet 95% of the people there didn't even know who the Twilight actors are. And I mentioned this in another post, but Taylor's people didn't even let the event coordinator know what the situation was in advance, and it made it awkward for her.

I thought my entire heart was going to jump out of my throat and lay frozen on the ground.

So.. as soon as I saw the um.. surprise and got over my momentary panic. (Thank you for being so nice. I was literally in shock) I made a few well-placed emails. I rarely curse, so when I brought out the expletives alongside the statement, We need to talk now!!! that helped.

To make a long story short, if possible, a few of my friends, knowing how much I like uhm. Mr. Darcy character had decided to be "funny" and set up an account.. They had a lot of fun listening to me laugh about how I thought it was you, and some of my comments, having no idea that it was them that was doing it. They got too busy at work to keep up the game, so decided as a parting thing to "surprise" me. Yah, needless to say it worked. Big time! And being the boneheads that they are, still to this day do not understand how I felt like a total idiot and made to feel like a complete fool. And here I'm all, when they're saying ready for a surprise? "What you're my next door neighbor and you're going to kill me?"

They're too lovely to stay mad at forever, but really IDIOTS IDIOTS. And I'm the one that always gets teased for being the stupid blonde! GEEZ

I'll give you the short version.

I got on originally because I am (1) a huge fan of the Twilight series and
(2) very interested in the filming progress of New Moon, and this seemed to
be the best site to get info on what was happening (this was before the
filming wrapped). Some time ago there was a post about men not being
willing to read Twilight and I felt compelled to post for the first time.
After that I got myself a Disqus account and have made some wonderful
friends, and now I'm a regular I suppose. : )

Good Morning Mr. Darcy! My weekend was great- went to an art festival all day Saturday, and spent Sunday with the family and watched a vampire show to satiate my vampire fix. LOL.

I don't have internet at my new house yet, so I find myself missing my NMM friends- and looking forward to coming to work and catching up! A terrible way to spend the weekend, and an even more terrible way to spend my time at work, haha!

Went antiquing with my wife, always great fun. Watched a bunch of movies...
The Notebook, Moulin Rouge, Funny Face, 300, (yes we have very diverse
interests) almost watched Twilight, but as it was getting late we read some
from Jane Eyre.

And I completely concur with you about the dangers of this place during work
ours, it just about got me into trouble on Friday (when faced with talking
on here or doing mind-numbingly dull tasks the decision gets problematic).

Sounds like a similar weekend to mine! My roommate and I watched The Notebook, Slum Dog Millionaire, The Cell, Frost/Nixon, Changeling, and He's Just Not That into You. We don't have cable- so we average about 2 movies a night, lol!

Watching Michael Sheen in Frost/Nixon made me super excited to see him as Aro-- and to think I haven't even heard of this actor until he was mentioned in New Moon.

I'm lucky that my work computer doesn't face the hallway traffic, so when the mind-numbingly dull tasks get to be too much- I get to come here without getting caught!

It's amazing that either of us have jobs still.

I haven't seen Slum Dog yet or Changeling. How did you like them?

Slum Dog was very original and gripping. A very good and compelling story. The same review goes for Changeling. That movie was actually based on a true story, which makes it even more appealing, to me. Both come highly recommended!

I was the one who sent in the photos. And yeah, I don't get why Taylor's publicist would do that. It certainly didn't create any good feelings with the fans last night. This wasn't a riotous mob scene. There were maybe 20 fans there, at the most. Everyone else there was either just there to support the cause, or an honoree, presenter, or celeb guest. I could undestand keeping Taylor away if there were thousands of screaming fans, but this wasn't the case. It would have taken him 15 minutes to take photos and briefly chat with the fans there. And someone mentioned Peter. Well, unfortunately he didn't make it last night.

You are sooo lucky! While I can agree that the dad's are cute, I have to say my fav is Gil Birmingham. I have been watching his career for years and he only gets better!!! Maybe someday I will actually get to meet him!

I think that doesn´t make the case for Taylor Lautner very nice... look at Rob, HE IS ABSOLUTELY MOBBED but he keeps on in touch with people, and Taylor...well, I´m not going to put ALL THE BLAME in the publicist, Taylor must know where he stands, where he´s going, and if he looked around and saw all the "twilight family" with everyone, why not he?....I would have told my publicist, that works for me...well this is it! I guess maybe they are trying to present him as a serious actor, everyone is asking him about his abs.
I mean that is maybe one of the reasons why he isn't randomly lifting his shirt in the interviews anymore haha..But who knows what is the deal.

And where is Peter? Did he attend?

The publicist and Taylor should know what they are getting involved with when it comes to Jacob. I mean he is half-naked through the rest of the saga. And the "abs" question is quite obvious since he did have to work so hard to develop them to keep the part.

I mean I am a Jacob fan but this action does seem a little much. I hope they realize this situation could cause a some animosity with the fans to be less willing to mingle with fans. But then again, they may be worried about what happened with Rob in NYC.

Honestly, it could be as simple as he wasn't feeling that well and didn't want to overextend himself by doing press and greeting fans. Maybe he's getting a little overwhelmed. He is pretty young. Whatever the case - I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. :)

There are pretty nice things for Edward fans in New Moon too. I for example love everything from the moment Alice came back. It's funny but the entire Volterra part and Forks after that are my favourite moments from the entire saga.:)

haha, yessss. i was laughing when she punched him and broke her hand because i was like "he's way too strong for you girl, dont do it...dont do it" and what did she do? she "punched" him. lol. but yes, the Isle Emse scenes will be so cute...though...there will be one scene i dont want to see, quite explicit, well dont want to see Bella in, Edward..more than ever! but, yes their wedding is going to be like Shakespeare's, too detailed to re-do in real life!

To all the Jacob fans who find themselves insulted with my preference for Edward..
I would like to clarify a few things.

Yes, Bella loves Jacob - a lot... She continues to seek him out and to have him around. She cannot stand the idea of not having him in her life because he is part of her heart.
However, she loves Edward more. The love she has for Edward over powers all love for Jacob. Although she does love Jacob, and she fell in love : He did not force her : her love for Edward overpowers her love for Jacob. This is proven in the fact that she could have been normal with Jacob. She could have had children, stayed in contact with Mom and Dad... Angela.. Mike etc.
But she chose the life of a vampire: Shut off from the rest of the world. Not being able to see her friends and family again.

Yes, Jacob is in pain because Bella doesn't realize she loves him. But honestly, as an Edward fan... I do not want to watch 1.5 hours of Jacob trying to woo Bella over. Before he becomes a werewolf, I was all over him. He was a great friend and very, very cute. I enjoyed the time they spent together.
Once he turned into a werewolf and the way he constantly treated Bella terrible, then turned around and acted nice : and the cycle repeated itself over and over : that made me lose respect for him. Yes he was under command of Sam.. but in his own words "I will never hurt you"... and he did Constantly.
At least Edward only left once. Jacob left more than once.
Jacob leaves whenever he sees fit. And Bella brings him back. He loves her? WHy not stay and fight instead of always leaving..
So no. I will not laugh in his face for his pain. I will laugh in his face for causing the pain that he says he would never do. Something he puts himself above: but just falls back down to it.

I am not looking for a disagreement or argument on nmm.org. I am stating my opinion because of the people who were insulted or upset with my above statement.

I used to like Jacob. I no longer do.

And Eclipse and BD both have a large portion of Jacob in it.. yes.
But for me its not as bad because Edward is there. THe love she has with Edward out reigns all things in the last two books: at least to me.

So thank you for voicing your opinions, but as Jacob fans responding to a pure Edward fan post... we both saw the post as different things, and saw Jacob as different people.
Everyone reads the series for different reasons. Mine obviously was to see Edward win over Jacob.

i totally agree no matter what. Jacob was just a fill-in while Edward was gone. there was no confusion when Edward wasnt there, sure. But when he comes back and Bella wants HIM and ONLY him more than a friend, then Jacob decides to be mean. Yes, Bella loved Jacob, I dont care, but Edward is the one she fell in love with, had a child with, and is now MARRIED to. I understand most of you wished that wouldnt happen, but what's done is done and you guys just need to face the facts that she doesnt love him like she loves Edward.

I respect your opinion. And I agree that he brought Bella back to life, which Im grateful for too. I just dont like Jacob being *emphasis on being* with Bella, I dont mind the character itself and I certainly dont mind Taylor Lautner as a whole, I just dont like the two being "a thing" because she cant have both Jacob and Edward. I just merely prefer Edward.

and actually jacob did fight back A LOT. the reason why he left is because she always chose edward over him and he left after he turned wolf to protect her. but bella kept reeling him back. like a fish, give'em some slack then reel them in, and repeat. she kept giving him hope and he latched on to it with his dear life. cos thats the last thing you give up on, hope. and when he left in eclipse, was because he was in utter pain and wanted to escape, to avoid it all. but she kept calling him in eclipse and BD and writing notes and thats why he came back b/c of his promise to always be there for her. so when he kept coming back was because she wanted him back. and when he leaves its b/c she "pushes" him to leave. not literally push or intentionally, but you know what i mean, right? so really, all this is bella's fault. and you proved my point, she keeps asking for him so he keeps fighting back and keeps coming back.
and we know bella's love for edward is supreme to jacob's, no one denies that. it just seems like he went through all that crap for nothing and she didn't know when to leave well enough alone.
btw, jake wasn't the only one who treated someone else bad. bella did the same to him. even if it was unintentional. tit for tat.

When Bella punches Jacob - that is one of my FAVORITE parts of the series!!!!!! I loved Edward's reaction to it also -he was so adorable!

BTW... I love Jacob - and I'm not pushing that we start abusing werewolves. I just thought it was great how Bella and Jacob's relationship got so complicated it ended up with a kiss and punch in the face. :) :)

It was pretty funny. I mean I was chringing at the forced kiss, but I understood why he did that. But the whole thing was funny. And I was laughing so hard when Edward came and said this "I don’t care if she merely trips, or if a meteor falls out of the sky and hits her in the head — if you return her to me in less than the perfect condition that I left her in, you will be running with three legs. Do you understand that, mongrel?"

Everyone had some good lines in Eclipse but the the meteor part was so random and hilarious haha

Haha - I love that! Or how about later in the book when Bella kisses Jacob back. I remember thinking "Bella, no! bella, no!" And when Edward finds out he says:

"And I thought I fought dirty. He makes me look like the patron saint of ethics. I'm not mad at you, love. Jacob's more cunning than I gave him credit for. I do wish you hadn't asked him, though."

Just when you think you can't possibly love Edward more, he gives you another reason. :)

Darlin' Jacob never forced Bella to love him. She fell in love with him all by her little self. As for Jacob forcing the kiss. He did what he needed to do, in order to open her eyes. Need I remind people that Bella sought Jacob out over and over again?

I find it truly revolting that anyone would "laughing Jacob's face" over the pain Bella inflicted on him. It is truly disheartening. I never once thought of "laughing in Edward's face" each time Bella snuck off to see Jacob. When Bella said she wanted Jake at the wedding but couldn't do it. When Edward overheard Bella saying to Jacob that she loved him.

Jacob is such an intricate part of the Saga. Without him I would be stuck reading Bella's whining. Well...no I wouldn't. Because, of course, Jacob is the reason I continued the Saga.

I apologize for taking your joking out of context. Obviously these characters are not real. I completely understand that. As I read books I tend to evoke the feelings of the characters. I feel them too. I think it is pretty much impossible for me not to. I really get into the things I read. Just ask me about The Other Boleyn Girl or The Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory. (That woman is my hero. Her writing is SO vivid!)

we know their not real and yet they still make you and me cry or laugh or feel their pain. why? because it was well written and thats the point with any movie, any painting, any written work, to make us feel and connect with the character so we can keep on reading. did you not just say you have cried or will cry for edward/bella?

Well said! It wouldnt be the same wihtout Jacob. he and Edward are opposites and help to balance out the story. His cheekiness makes it fun. and at least KStew doesnt portray a very whiney Bella. Thank God!

And there will still be lots of Edward in NM, by the looks of the script. Cos there no voice overs of him to Bella, there are apparitions

first of all, he doesnt "force" her to fall in love with him. she naturally just does. dont believe me? read SM's comments on it on her site.and he pushes her, not literally, in eclipse to realize that she is in love with him too. he may have forced a kiss at first but she begged for more later, and who wouldnt really.
also jake plays a HUGE part in eclipse and BD too, its not just edward. it revolves around them 3. without jake, there's no story.

By Breaking Dawn he knew his boundaries, and in New Moon, sure she liked Jacob but i thought the only reason why she did was because he was everything Edward wanted to, but couldnt be. And she needed someone to fill the empty whole in her chest while Edward was gone.

Eclipse and Breaking Dawn both have a lot of Jacob, yes. But Edward is back... and it is more a love story of Edward and Bella than it is a love story of Jacob and Bella (as New Moon was).

Well said! I don't get how people could not like Jacob in New Moon. He's so sweet and warm. Would people rather read about Bella being lifeless and depressed for 3/4 of the book? Jacob doesn't try to force anything! At least not in New Moon. Do people forget that she constantly seeks him out? And sort of leads him on too? Jacob is always there for her as a friend and comfort. And saves her life every time she does something stupid. Without Jake, Edward would have had no one to come back to. I find him much more appealing than Edward.

Well people sitting around me are just gonna have to get over it because if they are not crying with me, they are not true Twilight fans ...LOL.

I am going to the Mid-night showing My husband went with me for Twilight but he dosent want to go for New -moon . He did not like all the Screaming girls lol . I went to see Twilight at least 9 times he thought I was kidding. when I said I would go 9 times to see it . I took my son to see it with me the last time because I did not want to go alone he really did not care since he was 4 . I did cover his eyes during the Kiss but he wasent even looking at the movie he was to busy with his Candy lol the perfect movie date.

I took my little boy too ... he fell asleep half way into the film so I didn't have to worry about the kissing scene. LOL

haha, phew. thank god i dont have kids yet, but, my boyfriend wanted to leave the theater when i saw it with him. i held his hand the entire time and everytime he wanted to leave i pulled him back down to the seat.

I think its kind of foolish what Taylors publicist did.
He is known for how he gets along with fans and how he is always such a good guy and polite..

To say "no. No pictures. No Interviews. No nothing. Leave Taylor alone."

Why go if you want no contact with anyone?

And not only that, but this publicist didn't give the event coordinator an advance notice about the no press/no photos/no meeting with fans thing, and she wasn't very happy. She said usually if this is the case, they will give them a heads up before the event. Taylor arrived late, and the press was all there waiting for him like an extra hour, because as far as everyone knew he was going to do the red carpet thing. And all the guests were told that we would be able to meet Taylor. So everyone was surprised and disappointed.

How sad for the people that waited!!
There has to be more reason than worried about an attack or something. HMMMM.. wonder if the pressure is building for him and the attention.

Yeah, he looked fine...there was no reason for him to look any different. I guess it was just a private arrangement with his publicist.
