200907211114.jpg Jamie Campbell-Bower, who plays Caius in new moon, spoke to Fandango about his role in the movie, along with his visual appearance in the film–

Q. How come you’re not wearing your vampire red contacts right now? Campbell Bower: They hurt. They don’t hurt so much as make me feel a bit sick because my peripheral vision is very much impaired when I have them in.

Q. How would you describe Caius’ look? Campbell Bower: I had a discussion with (costume designer) Tish (Monaghan), and we figured out that Caius probably doesn’t get to go out that much, so… he just steals his clothes from previous victims. The style is nice and smart and sleek and slim and – yeah, I like it. It’s very Italian, and I like the shoes, particularly.

Q. How much is expanded on in the 18th century flashback scenes? Campbell Bower: A little bit – not very much as far as the Volturi go. It’s awesome. It does look really cool and it will be kind of shocking. I don’t want to go too far and ruin it for anyone.

Justin Wachsberger Giana New Moon Here’s a new interview with Justine Wachsberger, who will play human secretary Gianna of the Volturi in New Moon. In it, she reveals her first thoughts on landing the role–

“I actually liked the books but I wasn’t a crazy fan of Twilight when I got the role of Gianna,” explained Wachsberger. “I just knew though that I would be lucky to be part of such a huge franchise because I know what these stories mean to the fans.”

Wachsberger added, “Gianna was a really interesting character to portray for me. She’s human and has a lot going for her but decides to work for the vampires. You don’t really know much about her motivations and that adds a lot of mystery to her, which I really loved.”

As far as what Justine plans to do in the future, she brings up the rumor again that there will be a spin-off from the Twilight Saga–specifically, a Volturi spin-off!

In terms of future projects, Wachsberger is just keeping her options open and looking at expanding her resume beyond genre films. However, the actress hints that she’d definitely love to return to the world of the Twilight vampires and may get the opportunity.

“I know there’s been some talk about having the Volturi spin off into its own film separate from the Twilight series and I think that would be really cool. I think Gianna definitely has her own story to tell,” Wachsberger said.

Volturi Symbol New Moon Twilight added the Cullen Family Crest to the lore of the Twilight Saga and New Moon will add the wolfpack tribe tattoo.

We now know that the Volturi will have a symbol of their own, as well–Cameron Bright, who plays Alec, says–

Your wardrobe, that pendant you’re wearing—do you know what those symbols are?

I don’t know, they just kind of slapped it on me. I know that’s a “V” for Volturi, I’m guessing? Because I’m a Volturi…I really have no idea what you’re asking. [Laughs.]

Does yours match Daniel’s?

The whole Volturi family has it because that’s their family seal. I don’t really know all of it.

The symbols were no doubt added to the movie in order to make branding of New Moon merchandise easier, as we’ve seen from the numerous pieces of merchandise with the Cullen Family Crest.

Read the rest of the interview at MSN where Cameron reveals some more details on the movie, including the deets on a fight scene, working with Dakota Fanning and his special powers.

UPDATE: First picture of the official Volturi symbol here!

Melissa Rosenberg Robert pattinson kristen stewart

Twilight Saga scriptwriter Melissa Rosenberg was intereviewed by HitFix for their series of articles from the Vancouver set of New Moon.

Melissa Rosenberg talks quite a bit about the process of writing New Moon and Eclipse, with these parts particularly relevant–

Q: Does writing the sequels present a whole different set of challenges than writing the ‘Twilight’ script?

Yeah, because in ‘Twilight’ you’re setting up the world. You’re introducing the world and you’re introducing characters and I was also writing in a vacuum because I didn’t know who the actors were going to be. Now, you’re going to ‘New Moon’ and ‘Eclipse,’ I could write [the characters] in my mind so it becomes a more comfortable world, you know? So, ‘New Moon’ is not about setting up the world, but it’s about it’s own set of challenges because ‘New Moon’ is very internal. I mean all of those…there’s a lot of talk about how Edward and the Cullen’s are not a part of whole middle of ‘New Moon’ but actually they really are. Certainly Bella’s very much alive in…I’m sorry Edward’s very much alive in Bella’s mind throughout ‘New Moon.’ As a reader you feel his presence. You feel that helping drive that story. Harder to do in film, you know? You have to somehow find his presence and bring it there without having thought bubbles constantly. And I think the solution is going to satisfy fans. It’s going to be very much in keeping with the book and the tone of the book. So I think it would be interesting to see how I think fans will be feel pretty satisfied with what we’re doing. One, because it’s true to the book and two because we see more Edward. So that can’t be bad.

Q: Are there a few direct quotes from the book?

What’s really hard is that I lose track of what’s the book and what’s me because my job to immerse myself in it and so I really lose track of what’s Stephanie and what’s me. But what I try to do as much as possible is use things directly from the book because I think there’s moments where the fans here that line, that classic line or whatever it is I try as much as possible to stay and sometimes you get kicked because a screenplay is 110 times [shorter than a novel.] Jacob is a great deal of fun to write. Charlie — Billy Burke is someone who you just can give a line to, you can give him a deep emotional line or a funny one-liner–this guy can deliver anything and always bring something new to it. And Emmett, I love writing Emmett as well. So obviously more offhand funny kind of characters…

Bella Swan Kristen Stewart Mexican Comic Book Mi Mejor Amiga Libro Sentimental

How’s this for weird? A Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan lookalike appears in a new issue of a comic book a reader found at a Mexican grocery store.

My guess? Either the artist was lazy and decided to trace the picture of Bella, or they consciously made the character look like Bella to sell more issues.
