I know this is random, but this is the most recent post and I feel like venting a little. This week the media have been obsessed with pitting HP and Twilight against each other. Several websites have posted articles trying to get opinions on which series is better and all that. The HP fans have been very rude and critical towards us, calling us a fad, immature teenagers who only like Twilight because of RPattz and we are all "romance deprived." They also said some really nasty things about Stephenie's writing.

I personally do not understand why it has to be a competition. I could pick on HP until the cows came home, but their movies do freaking rock.

I just went on an article about how well HP6 has done this weekend, and the HP fans sound EXACTLY like us. They are full out debating on whether the movie was any good. Some hated it, some loved it and so on. But yet they want to pick on us when we debate on Team Edward/Jacob/Switzerland, and so on.

I'm just fed up with people hating on Twilight lately. Just because it is a romance and has some hot cast members. And if I hear one more media reporter chick say that only teenagers like this series, I am going to throw one of my Twilight books at my tv and break it.

I'm having anger management problems this weekend. Sorry.

The only reason that they are even discussing the HP vs. Twilight issue is because news media has become a watered down pile of useless drivel. Why discuss war, famine, economical strife, education, or politics when you can ask "Who wore it better?" or try to pit one group of people reading against another group of people reading?

It's really ridiculous to pit HP against Twilight because it really is apples and oranges. The styles are different. The topics discussed are different. The eventual goals of the plots are different. Instead of trying to make a big stink about it, let's celebrate that both series have gotten millions of people reading more than magazines. That's a wonderful thing.

Oh, I completely agree with you. I have absolutely nothing against HP. I have not read the books, but the movies are great. It's just been overkill this week. Who's more popular? Who will stand the test of time? It is ridiculous. And some of the fans and their opinions are really annoying. I know I shouldn't let it get to me.

But when you have HP fans that obviously know nothing about Twilight, making remarks based on what the media is feeding them: only teeny boppers like Twilight and only because of RPattz and TLautner.

I agree. It's crap they keep pitting them against each other, especially if you like both series. Plus it's not just teenage girls who like Twilight. I'm 25 and my mother is 43 and we're both big fans and my brother is 12 and he likes the Twilight books as well.

I know. I'm 30 years old and everybody at work picks on me. They say I'm a 14 year old trapped in a 30 year old body. I just tell them that they go see all the superhero movies and Star Wars and Star Trek and Transformers, so how are they any different then me? LOL

twilight is more realistic than HP is; but i would never hate on it. Well, true. He was just dumb enough to get in a car with the crazy man, no one told him to "Don't trust strangers". Most kidnappings happen around the age of 8-17. Most are females. (there are some nasty people out there.) but if you have a boy, that doesn't mean you can let your guard down. Lots of teen are kidnapped every day. Here in Memphis I swear there has been a lest 2 kidnapping a week. (Memphis sucks, I know)

I just thought of that on the top of my head. This friend (I can't spell his name, so lets call him J), J LOVES harry potter. I mean like if you could call him harr-hard (which I will say that name makes no since) that's what he was. We once had DAILY arguments about how one book is better than the other for a mouth. It didn't go like what I wrote . . . but when I get angry I do make some arrangements funny lol.
It would go something like this . . . . . . (for fun . . i'm going to put what I was thinking in there . . )

*Goes to store to bye candy. Hummmm candy. Only one Edward Heart’s Desire left. Great just enough for me and me only. Grabs candy. Pays for candy. Holds candy in hand while walking down New York city. On No! I forgot Robert Pattinson was hear, so every Twilight fan is here right now. Hides behind table that appeared out of no where. Sees girl holding "twilight" book past. Good she didn't see me.She would of tron me a part for this candy.
Starts to walk down the sidewalk Shes girl with "team Edward" shirt on. Hide behind tree that grew just a second ago in the middle of the sidewalk. Girl past by, mumbling something about "edward is better jacob la-la" Hummmm.
Makes it to home. Opens candy. yay candy. See's the word "bella" in candy. Oh no. Not her. I thought I had Edward. Puts candy in the fire place and watches it burn. lol . . .

"Muahahahaha . . . die die die", I laugh into to the air as the bella candy melts. Next time I will get Edward, so I won't waste another piece of candy. Dang . . that was the last one.

Watched HP6 yesterday, hmm, since I'm also a big HP book fans, read/listened to the books many times, I know the details quite good, I liked some parts of the movie and disliked some of it. They tried to merge many details/scenes together, I just felt it didn't go right. And cut off many details as well. Many that I felt I really like. It's slightly better than movie5, but I was disappointed.
NOw, I am scared I will be disappointed at NM movie as well, as this time around I had a higher expectation fr it then last time which I have no expectation at all. :D Maybe after HP6, I think I'm going to lower my expectation again .... incase I get disappointed. :DLOL
