New Moon star Robert Pattinson continues to film Remember Me in New York City, and here’s a video from yesterday of him filming a scene inside an ice cream shop.
There is hilarious background chatter including some guy saying “Robert, love you honey! and another saying “He’s just a normal guy!”"
UPDATE: Here’s another couple of vids with some views of Rob and Pierce Brosnan on Day 13 of filming:
There’s a new interview with Catherine Hardwicke, one-time director of Twilight. She talks about how things have changed since the project and what she’s working on now. There are a couple of Twilight-specific bits:
Q: “Twilight” cost $37 million and made nearly $382 million worldwide. Do you feel pressure to top yourself?
A: “I don’t think that’s possible, and I don’t think that’s a healthy way to think. “Twilight” was a phenomenon — the stars just aligned on that film. Thank God (director) Ridley Scott didn’t stop after “Blade Runner.” He made “Thelma and Louise” and “Gladiator” and a million other interesting movies. I still want to make other good films that won’t lose money.”
Q: How have things changed for you since “Twilight”?
A: “Right now I can say in a meeting: ‘Well on ‘Twilight’ this is how we did it and this is how we made it work.’ And people go, ‘Oh wow, that movie made money.’ They listen to me a little bit more than before.”
Twist Magazine recently interviewed Kellan, and he said–
I’m done with New Moon. It was really easy to work on with [Director] Chris Weitz. It all starts with the director, and he really moves the tempo with shooting. And he’s just so mellow and relaxed that it trickled down to the crew. And they were really prepared and it trickled down to the actors, who were really comfortable. And since Twilight was really accepted by the fans, it really allowed us to feel comfortable in our shoes.”
How’s this for an odd one? Someone has composed an entire unofficial orchestral score for New Moon, replete with tracks like “Riding on Motorcycles with Werewolves”, “Cliff Diving” and “The Volturi”.
From the audio previews, it sounds like it’s actually a pretty decent, accomplished piece.

According to Ted Casablanca at E!, Breaking Dawn will stay true to its roots instead of being watered down for the big screen.
Breaking Dawn features scenes that are quite violent and overtly sexual, and it was feared that the script would gloss over important elements that may not be appropriate for a younger audience.
Ted cites producers that say it will be “very, very sexual, …almost too hot for Twilight’s fanbase”.
Skip ahead to 2:35 in the video to catch the part about Breaking Dawn.
Who knows if this is true, but I have my fingers crossed!
There will be a new addition to the growing collection of Twilight dolls, but this one will only be availabe for purchase at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month. The figure is an exclusive “hungry” Edward Cullen doll from Tonner. It’s a variant from the original–

This latest incarnation of EDWARD CULLEN™ features variant black eyes and comes dressed in a soft knit long-sleeved t-shirt and dark wash jeans. Socks, faux leather lace-up shoes, and faux leather bracelet with the Cullen Family crest also included.
Any dolls that are left over from the exclusive opportunity to purchase them at Comic-Con, if any, will be sold at TonnerDirect.
The Wall Street Journal has an intriguing look at the impact Twilight has had on the Harry Potter franchise.
Alicia Penner, a 13-year-old from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, read the “Harry Potter” books 57 times. She watched the “Harry Potter” movies. Then last fall, a friend lent her the teen vampire book series “Twilight”—and she was hooked. The “Harry Potter” poster that used to hang on her bedroom wall has been replaced by the “Twilight” poster she got for her 13th birthday.
As a new “Harry Potter” movie opens next week, the bespectacled wizard faces a new challenge: how to compete for the attention of a young audience that has been growing up—and is starting to prefer the angsty teen romances and cooler, edgier characters of the “Twilight” books and movies.
Truth be told, I think there’s room in the world for both–I love Harry Potter but I also love Twilight. Each holds a special place in my heart for different reasons.
