Please re-consider as it truly is very important that you (Summit) keep all the casts the same people through out the whole saga. We relate the story to each of these characters...... very important. No one will ever know the true reason for dropping her but I & many others feel that was a huge mistake!
She is "Victoria" and always will be.

With all respect I think recasting for Victorias character is a huge mistake... I am a twilight fan and honestly think that rachelle is the one that suits the character perfectly for that matter, she is just how the book describes her.

I have seen a number of comments about how mean we are to Bryce and we should not put any blame on her. I say that is a load.
Everyone in the movie industry knows about Twilight. They know who established the roles for each character .
Bryce was aware that Rachelle was in San Diego supporting the franchise at Comic-Con. At the same time Bryce
was negotiating stealing the role, in order to insert herself in a successful movie.
Yes Summit and David Slade are pigs and dishonest, but any actress that stabs another actress in the back for a role does not deserve
any respect from the public and specifically from the true Twilight fans.

Agree RobinEA. Ms. Howard is too eager to step into Rachelle's shoes and that stinks. She wouldn't like it if another actress took over a part she'd begun! Rachelle IS Victoria and must be allowed to complete the part she began so brilliantly. She scared me to death in Twilight. I was so looking forward to seeing her in Eclipse. What I can't understand is: The Harry Potter cast comes back year after year, The Matrix crew completed their 3 films, the Spiderman cast keeps coming back -- why has Summit so badly miscalculated when it comes to switching an established cast around? Part of the fun of a series is seeing the same faces in each film. Would you replace Alan Rickman in Harry Potter? No! Would you replace Kristen Stewart in Spiderman? No!! I am glad...all of the other cast members seemed so humble in all of the interviews. Rachelle acted like she was the starring role in Twilight. I am sure she is nice...but she was just SOOOOOOO full of herself.

Ok, see now I was all fine with the replacement had it been mutual, but as we can clearly see it's not. One of my biggest beefs with movie sagas is continuity. When you replace actors you loose continuity. When you don't follow the books and make up your own stuff (example: Harry Potter) you loose continuity. It destroys the film. I have read all the books before I watched the movie. And although I didn't quite fully enjoy the first movie, several aspects of it had a profound effect on me, and how I perceived the books. They were very strong key-points that actually saved the whole movie for me. Now when I watched the movie, I knew very little of the actors and actresses in it. I was only aware that Robert Pattinson was "Cedric Digory" in one of the Harry Potter films. Now, one of the strong aspects of "Twlight" the movie was the actors and actresses ability to perform very well - seeing how young they were. At first I did have some issues with the cast, but by the end of the movie I thought they all did really well. And Rachelle couldn't have made a better Victoria. She is EXACTLY what I would imagine Victoria would to be like, and Rachelle did an exceedingly good job at portraying her.

Now, I dare say fans AROUND the world are upset by this news, as you can clearly tell. I'm from Malaysia by the way. With such a huge mega-fanbase supporting the on-screen Saga, making mistakes like this is very silly, and would only cause (obviously) an uproar against bad decision making. The saga would be most ideal with Rachelle in it.

Choosing a famed actress to play Rachelle's part (or rather, replace Rachelle) in this film seems like a move that simply disregards us, the fans. I personally loved the fact they were all indie actors, and I dare say I speak for many when I say this. This is definitely going to negatively affect the continuity of the saga and the character. There isn't anything more sillier than to replace an actress that plays a character with such a pivotal role in the saga as a whole. Rachelle has done a brilliant job and I don't think it is right to discredit the actress in such a way.

We don't want a different take or a new dimension added to a character that has already been portrayed perfectly by Rachelle. Victoria is Rachelle. Period. I'm sure my voice is just one of the millions, which further proves that the next movies in the saga is going to suffer the consequences if Rachelle isn't back. No other actress but Rachelle. No other Victoria, but Rachelle.

I expect that you ignore the fans no further; it's very disrespectful. This is on a global scale, fans from around the world aren't happy. Please do something about it.

I'm too poor right now to send a letter but I'm working on those emails. Anyway, I got a little rant going on movie review site. This is what I said, there were A LOT of haters there.

I completely disagree with anyone who thinks BDH would be a good Victoria. Summit decided to replace Rachelle because she signed on to a movie that would cause her to miss ten days out of her 3 months of shooting for Eclipse. I doubt any twilight fans will "adjust". We are very upset with this choice. Rachelle was a fangirl of the series before even signing on. And now Summit wants to take her out because of ten days. Personally, I love the fact that the cast are not well known actors. The cast is way more humble and happy to please their fans. I do not think Dakota Fanning should even be in this movie. Back to topic, Rachelle can be the only Victoria. I thought it was rude to allow her to be in the first two movies then when she is about to her shining moment as a villain they replace her. That doesn't sit well with me or most other Twilight fans. I love BDH but just as Pepper and in Lady In the Water, besides that I think she sucks. I do not think she will live up to fan's high expectations that have already been set and MET by Rachelle.

As stated in my posting last night I sent emails to all Summit Execs. I received a response from Nancy Kirkpatrick first thing this morning (6:42 AM). Basically stating what a horrible experience this was for them and how they were misused by Rachelle. Per Nancy’s email the job Rachelle took was completed in early June.

Based on this response, this is what I read into it. Most likely Nancy Kirkpatrick is the designated spin doctor for this topic. The response is a canned response. Corporate America does not allow any written responses to go out to the public that have not been cleared through the business machine. (I know how this works as I was a VP for a Fortune 500 company for 11 years.) They state that the last 10 days have put them under a great strain.

Things to think about: Does anyone honestly believe that this large movie giant, was totally blindsided by Rachelle? Remember that rumors travel faster through the movie community than any other business. Does it seem strange that Rachelle’s scheduling conflict only became know to Summit Entertainment conveniently after Comic-Con. This way they were able to make their appearance at Comic-Con and avoid the bad press it would have caused if the fans had known about the casting replacement during the general meeting. Does anybody believe that Summit was not already in talks with Bryce Howard and were just waiting to issue the press release to fit their needs.

The way to send a message to Summit is through their pocket book. By all means support the books, but think twice about supporting the movies. Read the books again if you need an Edward/Bella fix.

I agree completely with you, I love the way Rachelle played Victoria, but I also have to admit that I´m not going to put the blame entirely on summit´s side...especially when they have gone so public telling exact dates....(April everyone knew the schedule for Eclipse, she accepted this new movie in early June, didnt´ tell until July 20th and expect that all the production would stop or change for her...well) she hasn´t deny this and she won´t because when they come out so public with dates and so on it´s because they can prove it...
So, it´s true, we will see eclipse and we will hope that this actress can take the best of Victoria the vampire of Stephenie Meyers books, that´s what this girl has to do...read the books, her script and try to work it out the best she can...
I´m just happy because we are going to receive news from eclipse at the same time we are getting ready to see new moon, this next months are going to be great indeed!!!

This letter is to complain about the fact that Summit Entertainment has made the decision to recast Rachelle LeFevre “Victoria” in the upcoming Eclipse movie. I feel you are making a huge mistake in not working out some sort of arrangement with Rachelle’s scheduling. She has been a wonderful Victoria so far, and she is very vocal about how much the Twilight Saga means to her and how much she appreciates the fans. Rachelle has been at just about every press junket you have had, and always has a wonderful smile on her face, unlike some of the other cast members. Not mention Rachelle has a lot of dedicated Twifans that will do just about anything to see her put back in the role of Victoria. Did you even consider the repercussions of your decision? As you know the Twifans are what made this movie franchise a success and replacing a character mid series is not the way to keep the fans happy. There is lots of talk of boycotting all Twilight merchandise and possibly the next film. You will still have success in New Moon but if you do not please the fans you may not have any fans left to support Eclipse. Please reconsider your decision to replace Rachelle as Victoria because in the fans eyes there can be no other Victoria!

Since we're on the subject of writing Summit for recasts, Solomon Trimble- the guy who played the first Sam Uley- was recast, too!

Can we write to bring him back, since he was the original? Crap.. his replacement Chaske already filmed New Moon.

I'm having a hard time differentiating between which castmates we're trying to save, and which one's we don't care about.

I'm not trying to be callous- a lot of my very best twi-girls are Team Rachelle. Not that I didn't like Rachelle as a PERSON (she gave really awesome interviews and was pretty sweet), but her role in Twilight lasted all of 5 minutes. Since I haven't seen New Moon yet (obviously), she didn't have the screen time on Twilight to make me miss her as a character on the series. Just like that Solomon Trimble guy didn't have enough time to miss him when he was replaced with Chaske Spencer.

1. That never should have been Sam - it should have been Quil & Embry if anyone since no other tribe members were introduced in Twilight
and
2. They never actually introduced those 2 characters in Twilight so we never really new who they were supposed to be...

its not bout how much screen time she had, cause we knew in eclipse she would have an important role..its the fact that she did soo much promotion for twilight and her role, she went to every twilight convention, rachelle and Peter fach have done alot to promote twilight than any other casts more than i can say for the precious trio..rob, kris and tay ..(dont get me wrong i love the trio) its just that they havent gone out of there way to meet fans and go to convetions around the world like peter and rachelle, and i think how they played her was really harsh and unprofessional.

For me, it IS about the screen time she had. She made a big impact outside of the movie, but that was it, thus far. As I said before this, I REALLY liked Rachelle as the promoter- and I completely agree with you- she promoted the crap out of twilight! :0)

I also agree that it was unprofessional how this situation was handled. I think there should have been a press conference with all parties involved. This way, the media would know that Summit, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Rachelle Lefevre were all 'in' on the decision. I don't think Rachelle OR Summit should have released separate statements about one another-- that just antagonizes the situation.

I was stunned to hear about Rachelle as well! It really sucks that she was part of the first two and this happened. She was probably the nicest of all the cast members especially to fans, I am sad to see her go.

Unfortunately, this is a common practice by studios and although sometimes there is no ryhme or reason to their decision, many times there is a distinct reason.

In IronMan2, Terrence Howard was replaced by Don Cheadle. That came as a complete shock to him as well as fans. I believe the studio did not think he was a strong enough actor for that franchise and though Don Cheadle brought a bigger name and better performance to the role.

I honestly feel (after reading about this for the entire day) that Summit used scheduling as an excuse for the real reason they recast. I believe that after her performance in New Moon, they may have felt she just wasn't strong enough for this role which would be expanded tremendously in Eclipse. She may have lacked something that they thought would not allow her to carry a major part of the third film and thought they needed to find someone with mor edge. Bryce Howard is a very good actress, who has built a name for herself in Hollywood (despite being Ron Howard's daughter) and she does have that scary edge that will make Victoria lethal. I am in no way justifying this decision and I feel horrible for Rachelle and all of us that have come to love her. I am trying to make sense of this crazy and unfortunate situation, but at the end of the day, these studios only care about their bottom line and what is going to make them the most money. In this case, Rachelle was the victim in the studios decision to recast Victoria in order to bring a different look to this movie.

I wish Rachelle all the best and I know whe will have a great career beyond the Twilight Series.

To be perfectly honest, i do not see how Bryce will bring any scary edge to the role? As ive yet to see a role in which she didnt come across as a bit part character put in place to fill screen time, and a worry of mine about her being the replacement, is that just as in spiderman, her role may be amped up more, and she will be given much greater screen time than necessary, i just cant envision Bryce portraying Victoria well at all, but i hope for the sake of the movie, that she proves me wrong, and actually delivers a good performance in eclipse, although there are months to go until we find out whether this is true. However i dont see why summit would wish to bring a different look to a movie, and to one of its most recognisable and true to the book characters.

why would summit replace Rachelle. this would have been her biggest movie out of the saga. i do not understand how they can not work around a 10day filming overlap when they did it for Cam in twilight. This is EFFIN ridiculous! Why would they do that just because of a ten day conflict?! Ii am definitely going to write a letter even though its going to cost be a bit cause i live in the UK but i don't care because they can't ruin the saga anymore! I know I was angry when I first read it.  But hopefully this will make Summit realize what a monumental mistake they have made.  To me Rachelle embodies Victoria perfectly.  And I know Bryce Dallas Howard is a good actress but I just can't see her as Victoria.  Stupid briefcase jockeys over at Summit.

OK, so Summit must be punished. If your going to commit such douche-baggery as to pull someone's role out from under them, you've got to expect backlash. They're probably not expecting the magnitude that's about to hit, but...you f*&k with twi-fans, you get the fangs - be they wolf or vamp!

Here's the thing though - I don't think I can boycott the opening. First because my anticipation is already near fever-pitch and it's 4 months away, but mostly because I want it to do really well. I don't want haters and non-fans to be able to say that the first one was a fluke and point to Twilight as hype. The series deserves to succeed and prove that audiences can be huge for movies other than Transformers 2.

I really like the idea (mentioned several times below) of boycotting the merchandise. I hear that merchandising rights etc are a huge money-spinner for these corporations. If the only way Summit will pay attention is to hit them in the pocketbook, then I say we boycott the merchandise.

I will shell out the money for the ticket - tickets, but Summit, you won't see another dime from me.

As an aside though, we really kind of got lucky with BDH. Summit could have cast some skank/wannabe actress/producer's mistress in the role. BDH is a fine actress, she's just not Victoria.

Oh my my, and those are just a few of the faults! I swear, I don't know how anyone can be a fan that haven't read the books! Besides Rob's yummyness there is not a whole lot keeping it together (unless you have read the books and can fill in your own blanks). I didn't read the books until after they were all out (in which I read the saga in 6 days). I watched the movie the night I finished Twilight right before I started New Moon. I watched it once and yelled at the TV the entire time about how screwed up so many things were! The second time I kept my mouth shut and just watched it (still a bit resentfully). The third time I actually let myself like it. Every time after that I still liked it (except the time after I read Twilight for the second time and then I yelled some more!! haha

I actually seen the movie first and thought it was okay but was left scratching my head going HUH??, then read the books, then watched the movie again. And then I understood what was happening. But I don't know how anyone would get the movie if they didn't read the books.

Okay yes I am EXTREMELY upset about this, just because Rachelle was so nice and charming in interviews but the choice has already been made. I mean yes what we DID see of Rachelle in Twilight was good, I just think the reasons why everyone is so upset is because she is a true sweetheart and seems to be the only cast member that likes to talk with fans and make it know her love of the series. I am truly sad to see her go and hopefully, this new actress can act or that we be a decision they regretted.

I am not angry about the recasting of Rachelle's character Victoria, but I am highly disappointed. However, fans have the right to approach this abrupt change however they see fit because Rachelle fit that character so perfectly. And again, recasting actors in the middle of a major movie is plain tacky.

Rachelle stated that she turned down several roles to continue to be in Eclipse and to me that says a lot. I really do think that Summit misled Rachelle into believing that it was okay for her to film the other movie and the entire time they had Bryce in the wings waiting. Did Summit executives give Rachelle an opportunity to rearrange her schedule with the other movie? Did Summit executives give her an opportunity to drop out of that movie like she did with the rest? Maybe they did or maybe they did not. Something more positive could have been worked out for the sake of the fans and the Twilight Saga.

Why should Rachelle continue to support Summit when they pretty much dropped her??? Just because a company gives you an opportunity doesn't mean you have to compromise who you are by keeping your mouth shut when they misled fans into believing that you (Rachelle) chose to drop out of the movie.

And who cares that Bryce is an established actress versus Rachelle. That was the beauty of ALMOST the entire cast of Twilight, especially Rob Pattinson. They were virtually unknowns and now they have blossoming careers. She signed on for the three movies and they should have let her continue. Also, I am not trying to be rude because I do not have anything against Bryce but I don't think she’s attractive enough for the role to be honest.

Dear Summit

Myself and a legion of fans of the Twilight Saga, are deeply saddened after having heard that Rachelle LeFevre has been reacast due to scheduling conflicts, it seems entirely ridiculous that instead of attempting to resolve and find a way around these conflicts, you have chosen to recast the role.

During the first Twilight film, you were able to resolve the conflicts with Cam Gigandets schedule, and i think that the same should be done
for Rachelle, as told in her statement she has declined a significant amount of offers, in order to be available for the filming of New Moon, she has also fully honoured her contractual obligations, and taken roles that involve very short filming times,
she has clearly proven that she is fully commited to the Twilight Saga, not only through doing what we as the fans are sure, is her absolute best to fufill all of the Contractul Obligations imposed on her by summit, but also through her amazing enthusiasm about her role as Victoria, in various media outlets.

I believe it is only fair, that some sort of allowance be made for Rachelle, whilst she is working on this other project, if accomodations were made for other members of the cast, why is it not possible to do so for Rachelle, who is to a large portion of fans, the very embodiment of Victoria, it seems ludicrous that in the statement released you mention the importance of an ensemble cast, after having just recast one of its most recognisable and loved members, contrary to popular belief, it is not only the main chracters like the Cullens, who matter to the fans of the saga, but the whole cast, and i believe that more of an effort can be made to keep the current cast intact.

In the past summit have often said that they aim to please the fans, however this is the second occasion in which they have threatened to ruin the dynamic of the cast by recasting, only this time it seems they have not threatened, but actually ruined the dynamic, by removing Rachelle from the cast, and to do so when there is a much larger emphasis placed on the chracter (during eclipse) is beyond belief.

It is understandable that the principal photography and rehearsals clash with Rachelles other project, but did summit not allow two of the most difficult to film scenes of Twilight to be shot first, so that Cam could film the other project to which he was committed?

After Rachelles portrayal of Victora in both Twilight and New Moon, it seems nonsensical that you would even so much as think of recasting her part, it is a monumental mistake to remove Rachelle from the role, when her character plays a pivitol role in many of Eclipse's most important scenes, you have said in your statement that the most important thing you aim to do is respect the story, but as demonstrated it clearly is not, as if the most important aim was to respect the story, then for the sake of continuity you would of found a way in which both yourselves (summit) and Rachelle, could resolve any conflicts.

The reaction amongst fans is extremly negative and i have yet to come across a fan who is not dissapointed about this news, and despite all of the fans displeasure about this situation, it is not the intention of the fans to express anger, but to demonstrate the significance of this decision and how it will affect them.

In closing, im asking on behalf of myself and numerous others, to please reconsider this and make a concious, genuwine effort to work through the conflicts and if possible find a way around them, and reinstate Rachelle as Victoria in Eclipse.

I've been reading Summit's official response and I hate to be biased,but I'm siding with Rachelle on this one. While they have some partially valid points..it seems like a desperate attempt to save face and unless Rachelle is "acting" genuine and agreeable. she has always come off to me as a person who tries to be supportive and work with a company if at all possible, if she wants something.. I can't believe she, as an actor, would be so difficult to work with as they made her sound.

Totally agree, Wolfiegirl! It is really irritating the way this whole thing played out. There seems to have been very poor communication between both parties. You'd think that if Summit was so upset about her taking the other film, they would have just told her. "Rachelle, this is not gonna' work. Please pull out of the other film." and then her response should have been,
"O.K., if that is what you need me to do."
I'm mean, Rob had a film that he was supposed to do, but had to pull out of because of scheduling problems. I agree with you though, I don't think Rachelle is completely innocent, but I place most of the blame with Summit, especially the way they have handled it publicly by trying to make her the bad guy. I am not angry about the recasting of Rachelle's character Victoria, but I am highly disappointed. However, fans have the right to approach this abrupt change however they see fit because Rachelle fit that character so perfectly. And again, recasting actors in the middle of a major movie is plain tacky.

Rachelle stated that she turned down several roles to continue to be in Eclipse and to me that says a lot. I really do think that Summit misled Rachelle into believing that it was okay for her to film the other movie and the entire time they had Bryce in the wings waiting. Did Summit executives give Rachelle an opportunity to rearrange her schedule with the other movie? Did Summit executives give her an opportunity to drop out of that movie like she did with the rest? Maybe they did or maybe they did not. Something more positive could have been worked out for the sake of the fans and the Twilight Saga.

Why should Rachelle continue to support Summit when they pretty much dropped her??? Just because a company gives you an opportunity doesn't mean you have to compromise who you are by keeping your mouth shut when they misled fans into believing that you (Rachelle) chose to drop out of the movie.

And who cares that Bryce is an established actress versus Rachelle. That was the beauty of ALMOST the entire cast of Twilight, especially Rob Pattinson. They were virtually unknowns and now they have blossoming careers. She signed on for the three movies and they should have let her continue. Also, I am not trying to be rude because I do not have anything against Bryce but I don't think she’s attractive enough for the role to be honest.

Wow. I just read Summit's response. Although I understand their point of view (as I have had to fire actors before), this was a really low move. Summit fired her almost, it seems, out of vengeance for her accepting another role. I think that what Summit SHOULD have done was sit down with her and her agent and be like "look, this is what position we're in, what can we do to get around it." I have had to work around actors schedules for 5 years, and I never had a problem if I truly wanted that actor. They dumped her at the first opportunity, and that's really shitty. That is a lack of respect on Summit's part. However, if she didn't clear her schedule with Summit, that's a lack of respect on her part. So, it seems both parties are at fault, but no one seems to be doing anything to fix it. I am truly sad to see Rachelle go.

I agree with you. You know, even though I feel bad for Rachelle and hate the idea of them switching actresses on us no matter how good of an actress Bryce is, if Rob had to drop "Parts Per Billion" due to scheduling conflicts with "New Moon", I don't see why Rachelle wouldn't be expected to either if the schedules overlapped. If she was signed on to do Twilight and any future Twilight movies, then that takes priority over anything that she signs onto afterward and she should know that. Ten days may not seem like a big deal to some people, but when you are dealing with permits, money, other actors schedules, location availability scheduling, etc. it can be a nightmare sometimes.

That being said, I wonder if Summit even gave her a warning that they would recast her if she didn't pull out of her new project? There definitely seems to be some miscommunication going on between her (or her people) and Summit because her shocked reaction and Summit's very pissed off response tells me that she had no idea there was more than just the overlapping schedules playing a role in her recast. I think they should have done their best to work with her and find a way to make it work or, if that didn't work no matter how hard they tried, at least give her an ultimatum to drop her new project or get recast before just automatically recasting her (unless that is what they did and there is something more going on that we are not aware of in this "she" said "they" said ordeal). Like you said, both parties seem to be at fault here. It's not like this was Rachelle's first project in the business and it was very wrong of Summit if they didn't at least try to work with her on fixing the issue.

That is a great example! Seriously...I actually am a trained pharmacy tech...obviously not even close to the same (I don't think I could handle a hospital) but I definitely see the correlation. As a director, I do whatever I can to keep my original roles filled. If Summit went "We needed the money, so we got Ron Howard's daughter" i'd still be like "F-U, but thanks for being honest. I appreciate it". Now I'm just like "scum bags!" And the film business is dirty and trashy and whorey, and it blows like that sometimes, but I think Summit failed to consider the huge out-cry that would happen. And I think they expect us to calm down by November.

I just wanted to say that Rachelle LeFevre has been in the entertainment business since 1999. After all that years, a person would know the "do's" and "don'ts" of their contracts. Rachelle is quoted above: “I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules." Her role in ‘Barney’s Version’ is 10 DAYS. Summit Entertainment is a company thats going to make ALOT of money from the "Twilight Saga" movies and for them to not work with Rachelle when or if she is in her contract right is truly unethical. I strongly believe in the saying "What goes around comes around".

Agreed, that's the thing SUMMIT WAS LOW. They took the first opportunity they had to (not try and resolve this and speak out loud they were getting out of time to get around the conflicting schedule), and kept silent as little mouses till the time they could reasonably kick her out with no ethic what so ever.

I agree I don't know all the facts, but neither do any of you that are angry at Summit. Rachelle is in New Moon, Comic Con is a promotion for New Moon, so Rachelle should be there promoting. If the bomb was dropped on her before ComicCon, she was still contractually obligated to promote New Moon. What on earth is fishy about that? Rachelle wasn't fired, she just wasn't cast in Eclipse.

I don't know what went down with the communications, but I know from Rachelle's public statements that she is slamming Summit while supporting cast and crew on Eclipse. I know she didn't say she cleared the conflict with Summit first. She said she assumed it wouldn't be a problem. That's a contract breach on her end by her own admission. So was I there when the communications went down? No, but do we need to be when Rachelle herself doesn't say she cleared it first and just assumed they'd be okay with it. If she cleared it first, she should have said that as it is a major fact. What difference does it make what her previous screen time was? HUGE difference as it goes to the issue of continuity of characters. Not so important when the character was previously a minor character. What are the costs with rearranging production schedules? I don't know, but I know they can get big and fast especially working around a major character which every bit of logic would dictate that Victoria will be in Eclipse. So do I have the facts? No. But neither do you angry fans. I'm a fan as well and Rachelle's public comments are spiteful against a production company that gave her big break in casting her as an unknown actress in Twilight and she doesn't state anything that shows her in a positive light. I'm trying to look at this objectively. Bryce is an established actress who I'm sure will do well in the role.

If there truly was a misunderstanding and Rachelle thought she had clearance in advance for her conflict, rather than making public statements against Summit, she should be having a long talk with her management people with an eye towards getting new management.

What does the amount of screen time Victoria (Rachelle) has in Twilight or New Moon has to do with her continuing her role for Eclipse? Nothing at all. Yes, she had a small appearance in both, but she's still a very critical part of the Twilight Saga and especially Eclipse. I think it is very tacky to recast characters if it's not a critical emergency. If a scheduling conflict was the issue well, in my opinion, they should have worked it out. They could have done sappy love stuff between Bella and Edward or whatever else for the first 10 days and then after Rachelle's return they could proceed with her scenes.

True. I don't have the script and I don't know any of the behind the scene's logistics of it all, but I think they could have worked it out. The whole thing sounds political, tacky, and very fishy. Do you think Rachelle is trying to make herself sound better. She states production is over 3 mos long so what's 10 days? Production is Aug 17 to Oct 31. That's 2 1/2 mos. 10 days is almost 5% of production time for a major character. Bigger than Cam's role in Twilight and Twilight wasn't the huge franchise then that it is now. She could have asked Summit about shooting schedules first before she agreed to a conflict. I'm sorry, but I don't understand how people defend Rachelle 100% on this when she is clearly in the wrong. Try going to work tomorrow and tell your boss, oh, just schedule the project no matter the cost around me as I'm going to moonlight at another job for 10 days. Cam also had the conflict before casting and the director knew it before he was cast. He didn't get cast and then come in afterwards and say shoot around me. If Rachelle is so committed to Victoria and Twilight, why did SHE schedule the conflict? 10 days is a big deal on a tight shooting schedule, especially with someone who is a major character (and I think Victoria will be in several Seattle vampire scenes as you can't really read a newspaper article in a movie like you can a book) If Rachelle lost the part with no conflict, I could understand some anger on fans parts. But Rachelle did this to herself.

I think that there is fairly a reasonable doubt that all happened like you are saying or in the Summit cover up letter. Well, hi Jan! This will be easier then using sign in names. Now we have to ask oh_myfeathers her real name. The cruise is in 9 days and we are going to the Bahamas! I would love to go to Alaska too! They are much more expensive and for our first one we thought that a tropical one would be good. Everyone I talk to says that they are awesome. I spent the whole day outside today trying to get a tan so that I don't fry on the cruise. I tend to burn quite easily, like I did today, red as a tomato! Oh well, I would rather burn now and build up a tan then burn on the cruise and be miserable!

Oh wow!!  The Bahamas should be spectacular!!  Hopefully the weather will be good!  Isn't this like hurricane season down there??  And I burn red like a lobster if I spend too much time in the sun!  So I know what you're saying.  A couple years ago on vacation I was wearing SPF 60 sunscreen and burned so bad I got blisters.  I try to slowly get myself used to the sun every year.  Hopefully you won't get burned on the cruise, because sunburns suck.  Make sure you take Aloe!

Yikes, I know about the hurricane thing. They said that we are going like right before it but that doesn't mean that I am not a tad worried! I figure if I get the tan now then I can look decent in my swimsuit and slather on the sunscreen on the boat so I won't get burned. My body is currently like radiating heat... Hmm, how about threatening to replace Taylor after Twilight??  And I have to agree with the bad makeup, I sometimes call Edward lipstick Edward when i watch Twilight.  And maybe they could have improved some of the wardrobe choices too.  Like that jacket/coat thing Ashley's wearing in New Moon in Italy.  And actually a lot of the clothes worn by the vampires in Twilight.  Because in the books, the way they look and dress is outlined and in a lot of the scenes they are wearing like jeans and t-shirts.

I am utterly upset to hear about replacing Rachelle with Howard's daughter. I think this is a political move from summit and i am disgusted. Rachelle did an amazing job portraying Victoria and no one can top her acting.

Again, don't blame Summit for Rachelle's decision. She chose to have a conflict and didn't ask Summit first if it interfered with their shooting schedule. She chose not to honor her contract. She chose not to discuss it with Summit first. Shooting around her could cost millions. As an actress you don't get to assume Summit will automatically do it. Of course the new casting was whipped out fast - the movie is about to go into production in just a few short weeks and is in preproduction now. If you want Rachelle back, why don't you all pitch in and pay for the probable lost money resulting from the shooting conflict? And don't bring up shooting around Jasper in Twilight. He was barely in that movie whereas Victoria is a major character in Eclipse. He also may have brought it up in advance and didn't try to force it on Summit.

I'm VERY pissed at Summit. They completely low-balled Rachelle. I thought they would have a little more fear of the fan base disapproval. It doesn't make sense to me...they whipped this recasting out way too fast stunning Rachelle too, not giving her any hint that they would do this. Clearly the only actors that seem to matter to them are the main ones that give them the most publicity, screw the rest. No honor or ethics!!! Rachelle has had all the build up of her character in the first two movies, only to have her big moment snatched from her. Summit sucks!!!!!

what would happen if kristen had a conflict? or billy burke? or ashley ? I think Summit would work around actors even at 10 days they would do it. it is only 10 days! Folks, calm down. Point 1, Rachelle has less than 5 minutes screen time and maybe 2 lines in Twilight. In New Moon, you get glimpses of her hair in the water and that's about it. Characters talk about her more than you actually see her. She is hardly a major character from the first 2 movies where continuity should really be an issue. The fans issue is clearly more that Rachelle was a fan of the books before she was ever cast so the fans feel a special bond with her. Point 2, have any of you read the script for Eclipse? David Slade is an action director. Is it not conceivable to have scenes of Victoria converting her vampire army and she isn't just a character who shows up for a fight scene at the end (which by the way is the movie's climax)? From a business standpoint, Summit wants to expand the audience and Bryce has more street cred. Keeping Rachelle could be legitimately argued to be riskier than going with a bigger name actress. Point 3: The film schedule is shooting for 2 1/2 mos and there is alot of post production work that needs to be done before the movie is able to be shown. Eclipse is more of an action movie than Twilight and New Moon so the post production will be even more extensive. 10 days of unavailability for that role may be a major issue for production. Rachelle chose to have the conflict. Shooting and production are very tight - do you really feel you have all the info you need to get angry with Summit about decisions they need to make to keep the production schedule going? Delays cost millions of dollars. They are supposed to lose millions because of an actress with less 5 minutes screen time (a minor character) who decided on her own to create the conflict? Rob, Kristen, Taylor, Ashley, etc. did not schedule any conflicts. Rachelle could have made the same decision. I noticed in the interview, Rachelle states she assumed Summit wouldn't have a problem with it as it was only 10 days. She didn't say, I checked with Summit and the director first and they okayed my scheduling conflict as it didn't interfere with their production schedule. If you think Rachelle should sue Summit, it will be a waste of her time and money. She won't win as she is the one who didn't honor the contract. I understand why your angry, but perhaps a little objective perspective on this may ease your anger.

Here is my email and letter to Summit. I need feedback before I send it. Please help me!

Dear Summit Entertainment,

It has come to my attention and thousands of other Twilight fans that you have chosen to replace Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria in the movie Eclipse. Thousands of other Twilight fans and I are extremely disappointed and upset to hear this. I am writing to express my disappoint in you by releasing a statement saying that this was Ms. Lefevre’s choice. She passed up many great other opportunities to follow her contract to be able to play Victoria. It has also been brought to my attention that you were willing to accommodate to Cam Gigandet's schedule during the filming of Twilight. Myself and my fellow Twilight fans would like to know why you will not extend the same courtesy to Ms. Lefevre? I understand that Rachelle has a 10 day scheduling conflict out of three months. The fans know she is not going to be in the entire movie, so can’t you work on filming something else during that time?

There are many petitions, blog sites, and communities out there with fans showing their support for Rachelle. As of 10pm EST on Wednesday July 29, 2009, one petition that I have looked at, the signatures have doubled in the last hour giving it more than 2000 supporters at this time. On Twitter, the "trending topics" are #BringBackRachelle, Victoria, Rachelle Lefevre, and summit in the 1st, 4th, 5th, and 7th positions. By the time you receive this, I can imagine that the number of supporters for Rachelle will increase significantly.

Finally, I would like to inform you that many Twilight fans tend on taking action if Rachelle is not brought back as Victoria. I know of many people planning on boycotting Summit Entertainment movies, starting with Bandslam, and boycotting New Moon when it is released so your ratings and sales plummet. In addition, many fans who would like to continue to support the other actors and actresses for all of their hard work in New Moon since this is not their fault will only see the movie once instead of many more times that we were planning on going.

I am writing to you asking that you strongly rethink the decision you have made. It would be a colossal mistake not to bring Rachelle back. Rachelle has made an amazing Victoria and we would like for her to continue playing the part. She will always be Victoria in our hearts.

I'm beyond pissed off about this. Rachelle was incredible as Victoria and I don't want to see her get replaced. I hope we all pull together and try our hardest to get her back. I hope Summit wakes the hell up and realize the mistake that they have made.

Victoria has very little screen time in the first 2 movies. Rachelle was fine in the role, but seriously, it's hard to "embody" a role to a point that no one else could do it with that little screen time. Bryce is a more established actress, Twilight is a huge franchise now, and Victoria is a major character in Eclipse with the big fight scene at the end. Nothing against Rachelle as she didn't play the character badly, just a case of the role got bigger with the franchise much bigger than when the contract was originally signed so they went with a bigger name actress. Nothing shocking about it and pretty standard fare Hollywood business.

The question is what happens with Nikki Reed in BD? Her character is huge in BD, and Nikki has not been popular in the role. I think I see some future recasts...

I wont stop obsessing over Twilight and I still have a high respect for Summit. But so far this has been a very sad Week for the Twilight Fans with our loss of Rachelle. You can just feel it. Summit bought the rights to make Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse into movies. I believe that when the actors signed their contracts they were signing on for all three movies IF SUMMIT CHOSE TO MAKE THEM ALL. When she says they "picked up her option" that basically means they said "Yes, Rachelle. We are upholding your contract and want you to play Victoria in Eclipse."

I love Summit but sadly they've made a terrible decision here. Recasting ALWAYS spoils a film with so many followers, especially if the actor is still living! The only reason it worked in Harry Potter was because Richard Harris (RIP) passed away so recasting was inevitable.

I highly doubt that 10 days out of a 3 month shooting schedule is going to affect her shooting time on Eclipse, and as she said, it's within her contractual agreement to have short shooting schedules on other projects. According to her contract they HAVE to support that -- just like they did for Cam and Jackson during Twilight.

My best guess? Summit saw that she was considering another project, took the time to court a "higher" named actress to take the role, then when Rachelle came to them with her infinitesimal conflict, they axed her. It's an extremely backhanded, low thing to do. Twilight has made them somewhat of a household name, or so they think, so now they're using household name tactics (this sort of thing happens on daytime television all the time) to show it, to use their new found influence, as it were.

I have no doubt that BDH will bring an amazing "dimension" to the role, and that she'll be great. She's a fantastic actress, this isn't hte issue. My problem with this is that Summit didn't choose her because of her talent, but rather because of her name. The Twilight Saga is never going to be a series that wins Academy Awards, and sadly, Summit believes that throwing in a big named actress with an influential father will help or aide that. Is it not enough that it is going to be a worldwide success? Apparently not. Summit gets a major thumbs down for tact.

Dear the People Of Summit,
it has recently come to my attention that you've decided to just simply 'replace' a major character in the Twilight Saga, Victoria. While I understand that this happens in Hollywood, how you guys have handle this matter is just, in my eyes, unacceptable and crude. Rachelle is only going to be shooting her other movie for 10 measly days, and you have her for 3 months! The least you could do is work around her other projects...you did this with the other actors and actresses, SURELY you could do this for Rachelle, one of our favorites.

If this is just a matter of saving money, then that's even worse, because you will LOSE money by doing this...us fans are not going to just grin and bear this sudden huge change in the Twilight world, and keep buying the excessive merchandise that you constantly produce for us and hurrying off to see the movie just to see Robert or Taylor display themselves in an attractive manner; that's not how we work. We care about the STORY, about the actors and actresses that portray our characters in the story, and in case you haven't noticed, we are pretty emotional. We don't like it when the precious story we love is tossed around at the sake of money-hungry companies. We react, and we let ourselves be heard. We aren't going to simply let this go, and we are HURT by the decision you've made involving Victoria in Eclipse. Take a look on twitter, on newmoonmovie.org, on various fan-sites all over the internet...we are NOT happy. We helped make Twilight the popular franchise it is today, and to be treated as if we won't notice the major change is an insult to our intelligence, and our respect.

I have nothing against Bryce Dallas Howard, I think she's a fine actress and she's pretty as well; it's the principle of the matter, the fact that you went BEHIND Rachelle LeFerve's back and took her part away from her...this is what upsets me. If she decided to leave on her own accord, then that's one thing, but this is inexcusable.

I hope you rethink your horrible decision, and realize that we, the fans, are not going to stand back and watch this monstrosity occur. Thank you for reading this (or not), and please do not mess up this series anymore. It'll break every fan's heart, and will destroy our faith in your company and ability to keep a good series intact onscreen. Rachelle will ALWAYS be Victoria to us, and ONLY Rachelle. It sucks for movie companies to switch things up for characters across multiple movies. I don't know why they do it.

But for this case, I'm happy with the replacement. Bryce Dallas Howard is an excellent actress and would play a superb Victoria.

Why is Summit Entertainment is rushing everything...thats the main reason why we lost Catherine Hardwicke because she refuse to rush into things and do "New Moon". It has come to my attention and my fellow beloved Twilight Saga fans that a decision has been made by your company to replace Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria in the upcoming Eclipse movie. We believe this is a terrible mistake as Rachelle has embodied the character Victoria from the beginning and has embraced the entire Saga and all of the fans of the series. This is not to take away from Bryce Dallas Howard as an actress but instead to point out the absolute importance to keep an actress who has rightfully earned the role and has performed it with professionalism, excitement, and obvious admiration for the character. It has always been evidently clear in interviews how important the role of Victoria was to her and to her fans.

This is a major oversight by Summit and I hope that you take the chance to reconsider this decision since Rachelle will ALWAYS be Victoria to the true fans of Twilight.

I have heard that Rachelle Lefevre has been replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard. Why is this so? She portrayed her part as "Victoria" amazingly! Rachelle was fully commited to the Twilight Saga, and she has defended it multiple times. If she has been in the first two movies, then why not let her finish the last one that she is in? Rachelle is loved dearly by millions of fans! She has a spirit that goes with her wherever she is, whether she is playing Victoria, or is doing an interview with fans. Why could you work on Cam Gigandet's work schedule and not Rachelle's? Her job was ONLY 10 DAYS!! Please, please, please do not replace her. This is already a huge and tragic disappointment. There are already petitions with over 1,600 signatures on it, and #BringBackRachelle is the top trending topic on Twitter.

I thought it was weird when the article posted earlier said she was turning the role down for a different movie. Same when I heard Catherine Hardwicke had other plans. I love Rachelle as Victoria. As much as I like Bryce Dallas Howard, I love Rachelle. I can't imagine anyone else playing Victoria. It's the last movie. Summit has already almost given up on Taylor Lautner because he didn't meet their standard Jacob Black beyond the movie Twilight & Robert Pattinson had to give up a movie because of scheduling conflicts when New Moon came into production. Now Rachelle has to be "fired' because why? I doubt its scheduling conflicts. The politics behind the scenes of Hollywood is a nasty one and I don't appreciate seeing my favorite actors/actresses fired. Summit does it for the money, the actors for the job, I do it for the entertainment and by george I want Rachelle as my Victoria.

You need to have people outside the movie theatre with signs like "We won't see New Moon til Rachelle is recast" and get some media attention. I work for a radio station in Detroit. Wow, I can't believe Summit is willing to recast Rachelle because of a 10 day conflict. Surely that can find a way to figure it out. Rachelle's role as Victoria is very important and this is her time to shine. She's been waiting for long for this opportunity from the very beginning. I remember reading and watching Rachelle's interviews and she was always excited for Eclipse to be filmed. Summit just can't take this opportunity away from her. From reading this article, it seems as if Summit didn't even consult with Rachelle or her agent of the recasting of Victoria. This shows how disrespect and unappreciative Summit is of their best actors and actresses. They simply got rid of her like a used tissue. What a shame. Summit will definitely regret this decision.

Someone should start a petition rejecting this recasting decision. Like I said before, this isn't a SOAP OPERA where people are recast. is that I'm genuinely concerned about what Eclipse will be like with Slade
as director. Looks like Chris really understands what the story means to the
fans but I'm beginning to wonder if Summit knows or cares. It would be
truly disappointing if they ruined the final 2 movies. So many people are
attached to the story and with men as producers and someone like Slade
directing I do think that it could turn into a horror/action flick that
isn't what the fans want at all.

I'm not really sure what to think of this whole thing.. I am mostly unamused with the company.. I know so little about David Slade that I'd prefer to reserve judgement for now. although something seriously is wrong somewhere in this mix.. Eclipse is my favorite of all the books.. I think (maybe Twilight is..or a tie) but anyway.. one thing that gives me hope is all the pics they had at that one restaurant of Stephenie M. and Mr. Slade laughing it up over dinner.. he obviously has to have a sense of humor of SOME kind and the fact that she seemed at ease with him, makes me hope that she will be of great influence to him in keeping the story filled with romance/passion/heart.

Apparently Summit has released a statement say that the whole thing with RL
is her fault not theirs. As to Slade, I've read a lot of reviews of his
movies (they aren't the kind that I'm interested in seeing) and the thing
that gets mentioned the most is that they are "disturbing". Well acted,
well directed but disturbing. Like I said if they screw it up what can we
do. I'll try to be like you and be optimistic.

I'm not sure if Slade had anything to do with it. Most likely it was the producers like Wyck (Shame on you, Wyck, if that's true. I thought you cared more about this saga).

But if Slade did have something to do with it, then this is strike 1 in my book. Has he said anything about it on Twitter? Anyone know?

During all the behind the scenes stuff on the Twilight DVD, they talk about how they had to move all of Cam Gigandet's scene stuff to the beginning of filming because he had another obligation later on. I am a huge twilight saga fan of the books and the movies, basically everything related with it and I would like to ask about the re-cast of Rachelle Lefevre in the twilight saga's third installment eclipse.

Firstly, why did Summit Entertainment come to the decision to re-cast Rachelle Lefevre?

I do not think that's right because Cam and Jackson both had other commitments during the filming the movies but they never got re-cast and Rachelle is only gone for 10 days out of the 3 months, eclipse is filming so it does not make sense for you to re-cast her, she could have shot her scenes before or after she's finished with other commitments.

It's not like she needs to be filming eclipse through out the whole time.

Secondly, this is not fair on Rachelle, it was not on her contract and she gave up on other commitments because of the twilight saga so couldn't you come to an agreement with Rachelle since she is upset and wanted to still be a part of the twilight saga franchise.

Last but not least, think of the twilight saga fans, who gave this franchise and Summit Entertainment so much money of what they would think.

I do not think anyone of the fans wanted Rachelle re-cast, she was a great Victoria and this spoils the journey we've experienced in twilight and the experience in new moon on November 20th, it'll be like it never started as it won't have an end so logically, it's like a new character just dies and therefore makes one of eclipse's most important plot so pointless, to the extend that there's no point of having a eclipse movie and breaking dawn to be honest with you.

This has brought on terrible changes for fans, Rachelle and maybe the cast members Rachelle was close with.

Final point is that I know you probably will ignore this but I don't care, that's your problem and the whole Summit Entertainment organisation.

I do not write these letters and I mean ever but I feel so strongly about this franchise more than any so far, that I had to try and I never wrote emails or letters like this ever because I'm not really like that since I'm only 15, it's usually the older audience who write complaint letters etc.

*growls* If she's going to get all technical, then they should just recast EVERYBODY bcuz no one in the movie is exactly the way they're described in the book. It's not only Taylor who doesn't physically fit his character's specifications. There are a lot of intrinsic differences between the actors and their characters but no one in their right mind *cocks a brow* can expect a perfect translation from book to screen.

And out of ALL the wolves cast, Taylor is the only one who actually does physically fit his character. His face might still be babyish but Jacob is supposed to be going through a transition anyway so that's acceptable, and he took care of the body so no one can complain about that.

Wsan't the film about fighting against the evil? The hard, cold, tyrannic, inhuman, inhumiliating, power-obsessed?

The Twilight Saga is by far THE best love story ever told. The movie characters have become the book characters. We (the fans) will not appreciate Eclipse the same way without ALL the original actors. Stephenie Meyer needs to know how disappointing this is to her fans. Taylor got to stay depite his "height" issues because he fits JAcob in every other possible way. The same goes for Rachelle playing Victoria. Her role in Eclipse is so crucial and so "final". It is such a mistake.

We have nothing against Bryce Dallas Howard...but the TwiCast is not replaceable!
I would totally understand if this was her decision,but it wasnt!
Rachelle WANTS TO BE IN ECLIPSE and is shocked that Summit looked for a replacement!

You broke up the family!!! Do you not understand that your fan base has grown to regard the original cast members of Twilight as a family that are admired as individuals AND as a bonded group? And that fans look so forward to seeing the Twilight family's reunion on film? ALL of the members? INCLUDING Rachelle Lefevre? How can you break that up???

Additonally, Rachelle Lefevre truly made the character of Victoria her own. I saw Twilight EIGHT TIMES and one of my favorite scenes, of ALL movies, is the final scene in Twilight where Rachelle descends the staircase with beautiful, vengeful determination. How can Bryce Dallas Howard match THAT? I saw Terminator Salvation and, for the life of me, I can't recall Ms. Dallas Howard in that movie AT ALL

Please reconsider your decision to boot Rachelle Lefevre from a role that she transformed with a passion and memorableness that made so many of us look forward to her having a FULL presence in the third film.

Do not let Eclipse be eclipsed by a bad decision. I doubt that I will see Eclipse eight times without Rachelle Lefevre.

This is what those jerks at summit have to say about it if you haven't seen this already (read below).....even if this is true I'm still on Rachelle's side it just sounds like there acting like a bunch of babies calming o she went behind our back and kept a secret so what it's still only 10 freakin days and they are totally back tracking there first story basically saying they were lying the first time so why should we believe them the second time either way it's not right.

With Lefevre putting out a statement in the vein of “the woman wronged”, Summit went in to retaliation mode and have since put out a new statement regarding their decision:

“We at Summit Entertainment are disappointed by Rachelle Lefevre’s recent comments which attempt to make her career choices the fault of the Studio. Her decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly has forced the Studio to set the record straight and correct the facts.

“Ms. Lefevre’s representatives were advised as early as April that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE was expected to start shooting in early August.

“If Ms. Lefevre was, as she describes “passionate,” about being part of THE TWILIGHT SAGA, we feel that she and her representatives would have included us in her decision to work on another film that would conflict with the shooting schedule of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

“It was not until July 20th that Summit was first informed of Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to BARNEY’S VERSION, a commitment we have since been advised she accepted in early June. Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. Seriously Summit WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!?!? Are they really recasting her on the the last film she'll be present on not to mention the most important? I am not doubting the other actresses capabilities at all, but Rachel did an amazing job and she should complete what she started. I don't see how a random actress can jump into the most important film of her character when she did not get to that point through the story of the other movies. RECAST RACHEL!! As much as I'm obsessed with the Twilight Saga.. Nothing ruins a movie more than changing a major character.. especially in the end, and especially for a stupid reason. Summit needs to chillll out.

... the bad thing is, they (summit) dont care as much about it...they know if they replace some character (in this case victoria), we wont be able to do anything about it, and still it will bring them enough money and people in the cinemas.

It is important that we flood Summit with emails. They need to understand that we "the fans" are the ones that have buttered their bread. They kicked Catherine Hardwicke to the side of the road and now they are doing the same to Rachelle. Bryce Dallas Howard seems to be a compentent actress. (I have actually seen all of her movies,) I must say she had the charm and chemistry of a door knob in Terminator.
One of the biggest problems is the director David Slade. He is the one that sets the filming schedule so he has the final say on casting regardless of the spin Summit puts on it. Their first release made it sound like Rachelle was ok with the change, of course that was not true. We need to do something if they are screwing up this much and filming has not even started.

I grew up in Hollywood. My friends are film editors, cameramen, makeup artists and publicists. (As a matter of fact some of them worked on Happy Days!) This is the Summit Entertainment's spin doctors at work. The machine against the small hard working aritst.
They already have bad press on this new production based on David Slades negative comments on the project before he saw money in it for himself. Then Chris made comments that David would most likely change things to make his mark on the product.
They are all forgetting that Stephine and the fans of the books are what made this a success, not Summit Entertainment.

Dear Summit,

I am completely SHOCKED by your decision to recast of role of Victoria, which rightfully belongs to Rachelle Lefevre! I believe that this a huge mistake on your part, not only has Rachelle embodied the role, she also has the support of all the Twilight fans, which as you know is an UNSTOPPABLE FORCE!

I've already written a letter to them regarding the recasting choice. I think this was very foolish on Summit Entertainment's behalf. All we can do is write, let's show them we can write well. :)

To whom it may concern,

I was truly shocked and saddened upon reading the news of Rachelle LeFevre being replaced in upcoming movie Eclipse. I am am well aware that there are times when a already cast role needs to be replaced due to a conflict while shooting a film. I also am well aware that Rachelle does have a conflict during the time that Eclipse will be shot. However I cant not understand why 10 days during a 3 month shoot is justification for replacing her with Bryce Dallas Howard. I am aware that Miss Howard is a more recognizable face on the screen and is talented in her own right, however I do not feel that she will do justice to a role that Rachelle plays with such amazing charisma. I feel that it would be an injustice to not let Rachelle resume the role that she has put so much time and effort into in the last several years. She has been a fantastic promoter of the Twilight franchise and as I have the up most confidence in her will continue to be. As Twilight fans we have been though a lot in the last year with the change from Catherine to Chris as well as the mere thought of replacing Taylor in the role as Jacob. I believe that he an excellent example of how much these actors will go through not only to keep the role but also the importance of the role staying the same from the fans. There was an amazing amount of support for him to reprise the role a year ago and now the number of twilight fans has grown exponentially! As you are well aware many news networks are claiming that the Twilight will pass Harry Potter's earning. I am positive that New Moon will be the highest grossing movie of the year, I am shocked that your studio is will to change a part of this production because typically money talks and i am telling you it does matter if we as fans are millionaires or working our butts off babysitting we will find the money to see this film as well as buy one when the DVD come out.

I know that most twilight fans are seen as young people who will get over it and go to see Robert and Taylor on the big screen. I however would like to speak for the fans that do not fall into that age group, I am a 29 year old mother of 2 and am addicted to the Twilight Saga just like many other mom's are. It is a world that I am able to escape into whenever I have a free minute. I am sure that many of the fans feel as I do that we are a part of these books and have a part in their world. These books are an amazing work of art that a person of any age could get into as I feel are the movies based on them. I know that all of you at Summit are capable of making great decisions, you were smart enough to buy the rights to the books and also hire amazing actors to bring the characters to life on the screen. I hope that you will make another smart decision and rehire Rachelle to play the part that many of the Twilight fans feel only she was made for. Please consider the plea of all twilight fans and let her finish what she started, she deserves the role and 10 days to shoot the other movie as well. For us fans we feel that to even recast a small role would be unfair to those who started it all. If it were Rob, Taylor or Kristen what would you do? Please don't mess up the world that we ALL love so dearly.

I agree with you guys; Summit SHOULD NOT replace Rachelle Lefevre. I don't think scheduling issues are what made them replace her; her shooting for the other movie is only 10 days, and they made rearrangements for two actors/actresses in the first movie. Here are my theories:

1. Rachelle was asking for more money they were willing to give.
2. They're kissing up to Bryce Dallas Howard's dad, Ron Howard.

Also, if you plan on writting a letter to Summit about this (like I'm doing right now) it's good to say something like "Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this" or something at the begining or ending. They'll generally read it if there's something like that in the letter.

I hated Rachelle as Victoria. She depicted her totally wrong. I like Bryce Dallas Howard. She's a great actress. I wish they could go back and cast her originally. Maybe she'd actually be believable as a vampire.

I had been very excited about being one of the 1st people to see NEW MOON on November 20…but since Summit Entertainment made the announcement about recasting Victoria with Bryce Howard and not making minor accommodations for Rachelle Lefevre …. I’ve decided that I can wait for the next series of movies to come out on DVD and not spend my money at the theater. Since you are playing “politics” with the part…I will do my “political” best in not to give you as much money as you would like from me. I will be posting on one of my favorite NEW MOON websites my idea of cutting back our spending on the movies. I know that it is unrealistic to boycott it, but we can curtail our spending on the merchandise that will go along with the next 3 movies.

I am very disappointed that I won’t be able to see NEW MOON on the 20th of November, but I am so angry with your decision that I will wait for it to come on DVD. I might even rent it – unless you change your mind and have Rachelle come back.
