I have to agree and disagree .First I think we should agree that twilight was a disaster but since we are loyal we made it what it is so now summit has to pay back with the rest of the series.Yes it would be great to see a perfect twilight but it will never happen.there are so many mistakes that it will take me all day but the one that just gets me angry is when Bella is hooked up in the hospital and they don't show her heart racing I CAN'T STAND IT! any way replacing the director was the best start and for the writer she better step it up or get out. OKAY, I'm going to say it even if everyone hates me for it!! I somewhat agree about Bella, while I like Kristen Stewart, I think she does play Bella to sad and gloomy. But that is also due to the MR b/c she didnt really give Bella the same sense of humor that SM did in the book. I have seen a lot of Kristens other movies and I am sorry to say, I feel her characters are always the same. A teen girl who feels some what uncomfortable in her own skin. IDK if I agree with who they picked to "replace" her but I think MR needs to remember that Bella is still somewhat happy. There was a lot of stuff in the book that showed Bella being more light hearted that MR left out and it really changed the whole aspect fr me. For example, when Edward saves Bella from the guys who are trying to pretty much rape her. She tells him she is thinking of taking Tylar out with her truck. That scene was changed to her telling Edward to put his seat belt on...Come on, little changes like that can mess everything up. Or the First morning when Bella woke up and Edward stayed with her, she jumps into his arms while he is sitting in the chair in her room. The on screen Bell would never do that. I guess in the end I feel like Stuart needed to work EXTRA hard to make Bella more happy at times WHEN IT IS MADE POSSIBLE B/C SHE CAN ONLY MAKE DUE WITH WHAT SHE IS GIVEN rather than playing her awkward all the time. I know some of you will disagree with me and thats cool, but thats my opinion. I think MR left out a lot of important stuff in the first movie like the History lesson Edward gives Bella in Carlisles office and she COMPLETLY passed over Japsers gift which PISSED me off. I thought that list was TERRIBLE. The only suggestion that I liked at all was Taylor Kitsch as Emmett, and only because I think he's completely dreamy. But, clearly, Kellan has that covered. I wish they wouldn't recast ANYONE-Victoria included. That's my biggest pet peeve in movie sequels.

If they even try to recast anyone else they will lose most of their viewing audience. They will lose some because of recasting over Rachelle, and almost because of Taylor. Having people that most people haven't heard of adds to the effect, because you dont want people to sit there and be thinking "Hey, I didn't know the Cullens knew Harry Potter!" I mean seriously. Oooh! I love these alternative Twilight cast suggestions. Especially Henry Cavill as Edward (sorry Rob fans). Henry's name keeps popping up for Edward in these dream cast lists. Recently saw Henry in Whatever Works, and he's so ultra romantic just like Edward. In The Tudors, he also pulls off angry really well that it seems scary. Oh well, Rob's a good Edward, but Henry would have been perfect!

no way! the cast is perfect as is, and everyone needs to stop saying nikki was wrongly cast, shes perfect in my opinion. also, as an actress myself, i know doing a part is hard enough without everyone telling you you're not pretty enough, so just cut it. the ppl surround the franchise could use some replacing. twilight needs a dif director, cathrine was a bit much, cant say much about chris till i see new moon, im sure he'll do great though. The screenwriter NEEDS TO GO! copying lines straight from the book without adding anything to back up the lines isn't screenwriting. Bella thinks a lot of the book in her head, but she could have definatley added some of that to back up the lines, just like with any other book.

I'm pretty ticked already about them replacing Rachelle - I'm not going to like the new one probably just because of what Summit did to Rachelle. Whoever made the decision about Rachelle should be fired! If they change any more of the cast, I might consider boycotting the rest of the movies (the books are better anyway). The fans will support the movies if the original cast completes them, but Summit will be in a sorry state if they change anyone else. The original cast ARE the characters now - no one else can fill their shoes.

Why does this topic of having the ideal Twilight cast continue to come up in the press every so often? Obviously the original casting was so botched up in the first place that the media and some fans can't seem to put it to rest. With Rachelle as the latest recast victim, the studio heads even seem to lack confidence in the original cast's ability to bring in more box office dollars for the upcoming movies that they have to hire bigger name actors. Why don't they just leave well enough alone? No matter what changes they make, those movies will never be as good as the books.

Rachel Evan Wood has always reminded me of Kristen, so she would be better as Bella and no one can play Edward like Rob! His american accent is accurate and sexy and his acting, along with the books have made people fall in love with his character.

Jackson's make-up was a little off. He looks really strange in the movie. Ashley looks the part but doesn't act happy enough. She's not as bubbly as I imagined. Esme is fine but I just don't like her as a character. She does nothing important throughout the whole series. All she does is look happy or sad. Everybody else is perfect. Rob and Kristen ARE Edward and Bella. Taylor is a little young, but I can't see anyone else as Jacob.

I think it's rediculous that the role of Victoria has been re-cast. Rachelle Lefevre(spelling????haa), in my opinion was perfect for the role. I have herd rumors that she has been replaced not for a schedualing conflict, but because Summitt thought she was not capable of being sinister and evil enough for the fight sequencing inEclipse......thats BS. She was amazing in Twilight, will be just as amazing in New Moon, and would do a helllll of a lot better in Eclipse then the new actress they chose, cause we already know and love her as Victoria. As for the re-casting the whole cast.......uhmmm no. They are alll perfect choices, and the fact thet they are not big name actors doesn't matter in the slightest, cause they all sure have a name for themselves now, cause practically every magazine you see has either Rob, Kris or Tay on the cover. The cast is perfect the way it was in the first movie, even though the director didn't really do the movie justice, Chris will make us proud though!! I don't mean any offense, just getting my opinion out there.

I dont agree with those replacements lol, i only know like one person out of that selection 0.o and still, the redhead thats supposed to play bella is too pretty, the guy that is supposed to replace edward is too hairy, the guy for jacob looks too old, and the other chick has red hair too, i cant picture it. Why all the drama? Isn't there enough hype surrounding Twilight? Summit had to have some idea how screwing Rachelle would be received. And now it seems "replacement" or "recasting" mania has hit.

Here is my list of dreams:

1. Eclipse - current cast maintained and following as closely to the book as possible.

2. A promise that no further references to apes will be allowed (monkey man, spider monkey).

3. Breaking Dawn will be made into a movie, again with the same cast and following the book. I wouldn't object to Breaking Dawn being made into two movies like Harry Potter... anything to prolong it and of course keep it true to the book. Or even Eclipse for that matter.

4. Stephanie will finish Midnight Sun and will toy with the idea of working up another story - I'd love to see where Nessie and Jacob go. Wouldn't be too hard since he doesn't age (nor does Taylor) and Nessie ages rapidly.

5. Kristen and Rob will be happy together and we will all be happy for them.

OK, whoever wrote that article obviously haven't read the books. All the points on why changing the artist had nothing to do with the actual character. They wanted to change Kristen for that other girl Stone which quite frankly I find very ugly, just because she would play Bella more upbeat???? Well, Bella is not suppose to be upbeat, she hates living, and would love very much to be part of the undead world. Seriously, have they not even glance at the book. And how 'bout Jacob, they wanted to change Taylor because he looks too young. Newsflash, Jacob is suppose to be that young!!!! And Carlisle, they wanted to change Peter because he doesn't look good blonde. Leonardo DiCaprio as Carlisle??? Come on, Carlisle needs to look 23, and I don't care how young Leonardo looks, he CAN NOT pass as someone younger than 30, at least not anymore.

I think it is a stupid and shame idea to put this post on web for discussion. Twilight sequence is doing so well, fans love cast and movie story. Why creates doubles and comparisons? I never see or hear the story of recast Harry Porter with big names actors, or recast Transformer (I don't like Megan fox, she looks like posing than acting), or recast Spider-Man (I don't like Kristen Dunst in this role).

This is not a good way for promotion and a discouragement for Twilight casts. I thought this site is for supporting Twilight saga. It's ok to read it some where, but put it on here. Bad idea.

I mean, I had seen Kristen in other projects and we all knew Rob from Harry Potter, but none of them were really really famous, which made the characters so much more easy to relate to to me.

I think one of the many reasons why the first film was so successful was the simple fact that there weren't any huge stars...therefore the characters become slighty more believable to an audience. They have no preconceived notions about any of these guys. Summit is trying to Hollywood-ise this franchise as we've recently witnessed with the protrayel of Victoria so, blah...off soapbox!

About Charlie, I always imagine that he was just like Enrico Colantoni in "Veronica Mars", I agree with the suggestion and would be nice have him as Charlie.

I think I would have really liked to see Natalie Portman as Alice, she's a little closer to how I had imagined her.
As for Jasper, I think that they should have cast a different actor, although I can't imagine who.
I also had hoped that Jane would be played by Saoirse Ronan, a much creepier and at the same time more beautiful face, not to mention a better actress than Dakota Fanning.
Finally, although I'm going to get shouted at for saying this, I'm not a big fan of Taylor Lautner as Jacob, I'm not so sure that he has the necessary depth, but I guess that I'll have to wait and see.
As far as the rest of the cast is concerned, I think that they're all perfect, even though I still can't stop thinking of Sarah Clarke as Nina Myers rather than Bella's mum :-))

the great thing about the twilight saga is that youv never really seen the cast in anything eles befor,so your not watching the whole film thinking "what have i seen her in" or " he was good as jack in titanic"

To be honest, I don't agree with any of those suggestions. My least favorite of the actors in Twilight is Kristen, but that's just because I'm not so keen on the way she played Bella, because I think that she is a good person for the role. I think she was way too depressed in the movie. She's supposed to be newly in love, albeit with a vampire, but she should be a little more cheerful. For those that have seen Adventureland, I think some elements of Bella should have been more like when Em was high and on the bumper cars.

I don't really know who those people are, maybe they are "big-name" tween actors? Anyway, a more attractive cast might have included Danielle Pannabaker as Bella, Tom Welling as Edward, & Elizabeth Harnois as Rosalie. Rachel Bilson might have been a cute Alice. I'm not that familiar with the names of the Teen Beat heart throbs, but surely they could have found cookie cutter cuties more attractive than the actors who portray Jasper & Emmet? Peter Facinelli & the gal who plays Esme, and Billy Burke are great as is. Oh, and so is the kid who plays Jacob (apart from the fact that he's not tall and his voice hasn't changed yet). But we're talking wishlist. I'm fine with the existing cast. Except for the unattractive redhead replacing Rachelle Laferve.

I belive the actors are simply perfect for their roles [and I'm very sad that we won't see Rachelle in Eclipse, 'couse she was amazing], the directors were also amazing, and about changing Melissa, I don't understand how dare you even suggest that.
Besides, I think I've had enough of Angelinas, Toms and Brads. They star in half of the movies. I think it's time for some "fresh blood", and Twilight is a great opportunity for us to get to know something different than all the well-known guys that are becoming [in my opinion] boring after all those years that we were seeing the same face over and over again in the cinemas.

I love my Twilight cast! I love that when it first started they were all relatively unknown actors and actresses or those that were not big stars. I think they all suit the characters quite well. Kellan had to shave his head for Generation Kill. By the time he finished, his curls couldn't grow back out in time. For New Moon, he wanted to grow out his curls for Emmett. Because it would be true to character. However, he was told, in order to keep a fluid transition, he was told no-no.

I think this is hilarious...because Summit really did exactly that by replacing Rachelle. Which I still think is a BIG mistake...I love her as Victoria. If they ever replaced the main characters (Rob, Taylor, Kellan, etc..) I think there would be a huge backlash of epic porportions. There are no better people for these roles IMO. No one better and we better not ever have to find out what it feels like to loose them to other actors.

I had hoped that Emily Browning would play Bella, she is absolutely adorable and an amazing actress! I think she could have brought more life to the role. Watch her in the Uninvited (a very good movie), she is incredible in that movie :) Also, I love Ashley, but Natalie Portman is so cute and I think would be AWESOME as Alice. Plus, she is closer to Alice's size. (Natalie is 5'3", Ashley is 5'5"). As far as the Victoria recast, I only wish they had some continuity. If you're gonna use Bryce Dallas Howard, use her for all the films, not just one! She is a good actress and looks like a Victoria, I only wish they had used her from the beginning.

But, its too late now, and I hope that they don't change anything else, because that can ruin a series in my eyes (Of course, I AM OCD about such things). I hope this series could be like Harry Potter and have all the main actors the whole way through.

I think that if they ever change any of the cast, I would not watch it. The site that stated that the other proposed cast is perfect--thats ridiculous. I really hate that when they make a movie, you like it and you like the actors, they switch them when they decide to make a sequel. It is utterly ridiculous. I am still reluctant to see Eclipse when it arrives, just becuase they switched out Rachelle. That was completely foolish, and Summit knows it. Rachelle, in my opinion, was my pictured Victoria bad-vamp. Rachelle LeFevre IS VICTORIA. If they change any more of the actors/actresses, I swear to God that I will not watch the rest of the movies. SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT, I'm asking you to put Rachelle back into the series as Victoria, and to not switch out any body else ever again, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nikki I don't dislike her but physically she doesn't fit the physical part. I did think she pulled off the cold attitude in Twilight but she looks fake after they have to hide the dark hair and darker complexion. It does look like they did a better job with that in New Moon.

Oh her hubby is delicious!! I have seen Bride and Prejudice. I caught it on one of the movie channels. I always watch it anytime it is one tv. The dancing is amazing!

I don't even want to think or talk about any more potential re-casting. I was freaking out the whole time that Taylor might be replaced and was SOOOOO relieved that he was not. I didn' t mind the two native boys being replaced because technically they were never named in the films so they could have been just any other kid on the reservation- in my mind. BUT this Victoria recasting has REALLY upset me. Rachelle is Victoria to me and I am wondering how I will see this new person in her place. I don't know--- it's gonna be wierd! She gets killed off in Eclipse too so it's kinda strange since it's the height of that story line.

Recastings SUCK and I would have to seriously think about stop following if they do much more recasting with the main cast. There is NO WAY they can recast any of the Cullens or Jacob- that would kill it for me- end of discussion. Even Charlie or Billy would be too much.....NO MORE RECASTING!!!

Okay, I was horrified when I first saw the four at the top because I love the casting of all of those characters already. Then I looked at the complete "wish list" and couldn't even finish it. I was offended when they called Jackson "bug eyed" and when they said Nikki was attractive but "not necessarily drop dead gorgeous." I stopped reading it after they picked Natalie Portman over our sweet Ashley Greene and Leonardo DiCaprio for Carlisle. This whole switcheroo for the role of Victoria has got the Twilight world going mad! I know it's just a "wish list," but if they ever did recast ANY of the Cullens or other main characters, I would boycott, for sure.

Daniel Radcliff as Jasper???? I don't see it at ALL. First off, Daniel does not even have "the look" to pull off the Jasper role. Daniel has the look that someone could sneeze on him and it would knock him down. Okay, seriously, NONE of them are big named actors. I like Jay Hernandez but pretty much everything he's starred in has failed, even though he was quite fine in it. The best I saw him was Crazy, Beautiful with Kirsten Dunst and that was ages ago. Also, and most importantly, he is NOT Native American! Taylor may not be completely either but he's got some in him at least.

Sure there were some parts that could have been redone but a majority of the viewers are already in love with the cast. And Leo Di Caprio would not be a good choice for Carlisle. Taking these replacement characters seems like their aiming these characters to be for an older audience. Please- replace Edward- no way! Big name cast, sounds more like big old ego casting. The current cast brings a freshness to the characters that no one else would. Yeah ok big stars have already made it...and yes they are experienced...but all of the actors and actressses in Twilight look like they have improved from the trailers...its actually really hard to act with contacts in as well, which they all have even bella. And if people keep on slating Kristen stewart about how bland she is in this next film...its becase bella is bland in this book...

i agree too with EdwardsVenom/RobsBoxerBriefs its funny how people can slate the cast and yet....they are only doing this through jealousy. all the cast has to do is say they dont care about what people have to say aobut them if it is slating them. They are so gracious about it that they give time to do all the interviews and promotions... its strange that people (the ones that slate) dont realise this and should actually give the actors and actress some credit and a break.

I think she will be criticized for being bland when she needs to be! Others won't like it cause they won't get that she IS supposed to come across depressed/bland for almost the whole film.

I think she will be great....and let's face it. NO ONE can replace this cast! We are all to INVESTED in them now and it's because of who they are. I love that they went with reasonably UNKNOWN actors for these roles...but look at them NOW!!!

You are so right about that one. I hate reading comments slamming her. (It’s rude) she portrays a perfect Bella in my own opinion. I don’t think any other actress can do a better job or even come close to her talent. Some people just don’t have an Imagination or if they do obviously can’t remember what they read.

every time I watch it. I'm waiting for the movie to correct itself. Put the meadow scene in the right place, more Edward sleepovers, more getting to know Edward & Bella, more kissing between Edward & Bella (they kiss a lot and there is nothing R-rated about it so I really don't understand why it's left out), more of the connection between Carlisle & Edward, more of a relationship between Bella & Charlie. Getting the hospital scene at the end right (I'm pretty sure there was more to it than "go away so I can't hurt you"). Getting the "I know you're a vampire and I'm going to tell you I know your secret while I am trapped in this car with you" done the right way. Yeah, still waiting.

Edward and Bella are very loving and affectionate with each other in the book and I love that about their characters. Plus they say "I love you". They did not say it in Twilight...however...if you notice...I think Edward mouths it to her when she is in the car with Alice and Jasper...ready to head to Phoenix. Anyone else notice that?
I think they should have included the scene where Edward carried her to the nurse (create tension with Mike) and definitely should have been more time with Edward and Bella getting to know each other.
They should have held hands or arm around her waist which was in the book A LOT...not just have him put his arm around her shoulder when they got to school. Hand holding seems sweeter while the shoulder hug seemed dominate and Edward is not that way with Bella....ever.

This is terrible to say but for Women Catherine and Melissa really screwed up a book about love, romance, & relationships all around.
I mean in an interview Catherine was asked how they show the slow build of the relationship between Edward & Bella or do they jump into it and she says "well it's what the book is about." So basically, they jump into it.
And I agree the shoulder hug seems more dominant or like "I'm your pal." I didn't notice the "I love you" at the car thing. I'll look for it the next time I watch it.

well what happen w/ that scene is that it was replace for the biology trip which was pointless.
summit hear this why instead of re-casting you focus on firing that screen-writer ones and for all.

and the list goes on. at lest "i love you", it was't much to ask.

If we are going to replace the screenwriter (which needs to be done). I mean in Twilight, Bella and Edward went from meeting to falling in love. Hello, where is the middle half of the book. That was the great part, showing how they came together. I think I would vote for Stephenie herself to write the screenplay, better yet go by the one she has already written called the book. I mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist to take such wonderful material to make a wonderful movie. And, who cares if the movie is more than the traditional 2 hrs. People sit through Titantic, I would so sit through the 4 movies of the Twilight saga if they were 3 1/2 - 4 hrs each. Give me more, make it good, and keep me happy.....

twilight was better before everyone liked it now who ever likes twilight is supposed to be some freak obsessed. and the movie freakin sucks! it just ruins the whole book for everyone! some people could only get through like 10 minutes of it w/o actually getting sick. Whoa! I wouldn't go that far. Sure Twilight was a decent movie and i am happy they made it, but i think if they had a larger bidget and did less cutting out with the screne play it would've been nearly as good as the book. As the movie stands i give it a C- if the budget were biger and not as much was cut out (not to mention the greenhouse scene) I would probably give it a B+ or higher. Anybody else agree with me? PS. I can't wait for New Moon I'm sure it will be amazing.

I'm so glad someone finally said that. I have been thinking it for a long time. I'm interested to see how different the writing for New Moon is. I have often wondered if some of things in Twilight that made think "um WTH?" (Like, "You better hold on tight spidermonkey." or "My monkey man.") were the responsibilty of Melissa Rosenberg, or Catherine Hardwicke. My money is on Catherine Harwicke though. I only watched the deleted scenes once and I couldn't help but wonder if she was really bat-shit crazy LOL.

i totally agree that from the short scenes we've seen so far for new moon, the writing is much better with a different director. on all the special and bonus features on the twilight dvd, catherine hardwicke is a psycho. she was a terrible director and her vision for everything was all wrong. the only thing she did right was casting, and i doubt she had much doing with that. instead of the ridiculous biology field trip and the bad vamps killing wayland (which i dont think even happened in the book?), and even the unnecessary diner scenes, should have been replaced with blood typing, more lunchtime convos between bella and edward, a better development of the charlie/bela relationship, and the correct order of the meadow and everything. catherine hardwicke even admits that she forgot about the meadow scene and they quickly shot it at the end. thats ridiculous, it's the most important scene in the book, the turning point of their relationship! i just hope summit doesn't plan on signing catherine for breaking dawn!

I think New Moon looks closer to the book than Twilight did however I do not want them to do a remake and they better not even think of replacing the cast. i am so upset they recast Rachelle.... I am just hoping they do Eclipse and Breaking Dawn justice because they are the best books of the saga!
