Is it just me or does anyone else hate what "us" twilight fans have become? Forcing an actor that portrays Edward Cullen, Note: IS NOT EDWARD CULLEN to have to worry about being stalked/has had to change hotels as a result... Ughh.. He can't even look up for god's sake. He can't even act like a normal human being! All because of us. Lately I'm ashamed to be a twilight fan due to problems like this. Poor kid can't catch a break. =(

It is a really sad statement, that he can not just do his job without being paranoid to walk around and just feel threatened. I hope this filming ends soon for him so he can feel safe again. I am embarrassed that there is this constant need to seem him 24/7 and it is causing him grief.

The man needs to work to keep himself visible. I don't think I have ever seen this kind of attention for other actors making a film. Shouldn't he just be able to work. Imagine the frustration of the directors and producers. These fans are going to make him unhirable because of the money they have to spend wasting time shooing people away. I would rather see him in films than in photos of him looking frustrated and pissed because people won't let him alone.

Well, I was fortunate enough to visit him at the scene of one of his shooting in NY. He was occupied signing autographs and taking pictures. I observed him from a distance..he didn't seem to happy (didn't smile). I kind of felt bad for him dealing with fans. Fans tend to forget he is a person also before he is an actor. It is interesting seeing how fans react to him. I definitely am a fan, but I kept my distance there were enough of other fans trying to get pictures with him. I am not sorry that I didn't get an autograph...another time when he is an more receptive mood....I can wait.

Oh No Poor Rob he's homesick Ugh! it's only going 2 get worse and although I pray everynight for him 2 never stop working maybe he needs a bit of a break. I pray that he is really going 2 b ok. I get the whole 'he's a star' thing but for God's sake he's also a human being. You can see him noticably cringe when people go nuts over him like that. Yes, he's good looking, yes I think he does an excellent job in the role but on a human level I really feel sorry for him. He can't have any kind of life now. I'm sure it is frustrating to try to act when you have all those fans and paparazzi standing by filming you, but I don't think Rob is as miserable as the gossip mags are making him out to be. When he is on set he is working, he isn't going to go over and do autographs and smile for pictures, he needs to stay in character. And from what I have read, his character is depressed. Acting isn't necessary a switch that can be turned off and on.....Plus I have seen some videos on youtube that after filming he has gone over to the fans and taken pictures....he's a professional, there is a time and place for it all. Ok enough of my long rant.

I was telling someone the other day on here that all Summit would have to do is hire some NYPD officers to cordone off the area and keep everyone out, but they refuse to do it. I have worked movie sets before and it is not that difficult to keep people out. But Summit doesn't care.

I'm even sick of the paparatzi (the overwehlming paparatzi) and the girls that hunt him down...that would be embarrasing for I think almost anyone. What sucks even more is that this stuff comes with the job...ugh...all jobs have their drawbacks!

I wish the film crew would make the fans and paps stay back so far that Rob wouldn't be able to see the insanity around him...help him out a little bit at least. Or put black drops if possible...can't take a picture of what you can't see. You know the director and crew have to be just as frustrated with all the paps and fans.

I completely disagree. Yeah, he chose to be an actor, but when you are sitting there filming a movie and there are a hundred girls just across the street ready to tackle you and a million cameras going off, would that not get to you? He is human.

Noone can ever be prepared to deal with all of that attention. Name one celebrity that is actually 100% cool with it and has never gotten upset at the paps. It is an invasion of privacy and annoying as sh&t.

The man needs to work to keep himself visible. I don't think I have ever seen this kind of attention for other actors making a film. Shouldn't he just be able to work. Imagine the frustration of the directors and producers. These fans are going to make him unhirable because of the money they have to spend wasting time shooing people away. I would rather see him in films than in photos of him looking frustrated and pissed because people won't let him alone.

I was so sad when I read the article this morning. It must be so hard for him. Hopefully when he does eventually come home to our mutual home London then he will find it alot calmer. Summit is really making this difficult for him and I am sorry,but as much as I like seeing pictures of Rob, I would much rather he have is privacy and work in peace. Shoot him when he is done, but just leave the guy alone. I knew this would happen, especially after the vidoes of filming last week. It disturbed me, can't imagine being the recipient of such madness.

I completely agree. I am from London born and bred and work at the HMV dvd store on Oxford Street so see celebs quite alot in passing. Just last week Chace Crawford was over here and he was walking up the street, shopping like a normal guy. Sure people were looking and there were a couple of paps but people stayed out of his way and just let him get on with things. Hopefully that will be the same with Rob when he eventually comes back.

That is exactly wot ppl were doing. I was on my lunch break when I saw him and people were saying "look thats chace crawford" and he defo had peopl attention. Only one or 2 more confident peopl approached and he signed autographs happily. He looked really happy. I just hope Rob can become happy again otherwise where is all the mass hysteria going to lead to, it has to come to a head at some point.

He looked like he was about to lose it on Friday. One of the papps yelled "Vampire" to get his attention. So rude. I felt very grateful to the woman in the pink hat who gave him a little comforting back rub. So today it sounds like they're filming the scene where he gets to throw a desk through a glass door. He's probably in the mood by now. Go for it, babe, let out all those pent-up emotions!

Poor Rob. It looks like the strain of back-to-back filming is finally getting to him. If he doesn't take some well deserved R&R before Eclipse goes into production, he will definitely burn-out. He is a 23 year old young man who has been working non-stop for the past 4~5 months for God's sake. Crazy fan-girls refusing to give him undisturbed downtime is not funny. I feel so sad for him. :(

Whether this is true or false, people need to respect him as a person. There is no reason to constantly scream his name over and over, grab his arm, TACKLE him, etc.

There is an appropriate way to get Rob's attention. Just call his name loudly, but not scream it insanely. If he greets you, wonderful, if he doesn't...then that does not mean you should act in the way described above. If he does greet you...no screaming, no grabbing, no tackling...just nice, ask him questions, get your autograph type of deal.

Completely agree with you, cjean! I feel so sorry for Rob these days. I know people are always saying that celebrities know what they're getting themselves in for when they make movies, but Rob, Kristen and co didn't know how big Twilight was gonna be - they have all said they thought it was an indie movie! They weren't ready for the crazy level of fame they've gotten...and they seem not to enjoy all the attention. Personally, I think it's crazy - they are literally being stalked EVERY day, by tons of people!!

This is why I decided to not go set stalking. My friend and I were going to go but we decided not to. It's utterly repulsive because not everyone is like that. Hey nicnixs! I feel your pain, girl. I've been in self-imposed exile from this site the last few days because of company visiting and getting things ready for the parente's 50th anniv. bash(which is over now..hallef*ckinlujah!). ALL they need to create a story is to follow events from last two or three weeks, and also read fans reactions on fan sites and they'll know what subject is hot.
I always thought that is how they write their "stories".

Again the infamous "insider". I doubt that his co stars and crew would talk to gossip people...come on!
Of course that he is uncomfortable with all the crap, of course that it is stressful, of course that he would wish the filming is calm, but that doesn't mean he isn't enjoying working with great actors, the chance of making his career out of Twilight (which I think he is most eager to do) and I doubt he hates the city because of all this.

They are using him, because they know any "story" that mentions Rob will sell. Hell, they know if they can get a picture of his left elbow, it will sell! Yes, and the sad thing is that people will believe that he actually said that and that he is moaping around. He is probably stressed but also happy to be working on this project because he had a lot of input in script and he was excited about it.

I will be glad when he gets back to Vancouver and starts filming Eclipse. He looked so happy there whether it be from being comfortable with his cast/friends or just the kindness of the Canadians for giving him some breathing room. I don't want him to end up being a recluse because of the all the crazies!! I personally feel so guilty that I crave the pics/vids knowing what he is put through in order to get them. It's heartbreaking and I just want him to be happy!!

You have to kinda blame Summit for some of this. It seems like every day he's shooting outdoor scenes right in the middle of NYC. Couldn't a lot of this been filmed on a closed set somewhere like New Moon in Vancouver was? I think that helped keep it fun for him. He had his fans in small, controlable doses.

Yea Vancouver, everyone knew where they were filming but kept their distance out of respect. This must be the last place where he could go out for a walk in the middle of the day without being in fear of his life. I hope that can continue when they all get back. I hope they film Breaking Dawn here too!

I personally think Summit and production of RM is "allowing" the cr@ckhead paps wayyyyyy too close on set. it's been said by many fans that they're placed much farther away but the paps are literally thisclose to Rob while he's in rehearsal or filming (totally believable considering all the pics/vids from the past few wks).

there are a FEW fans who were able to get pics of him after waiting long hours (into the morning) and it was said that he was very patient and nice with them also. SO there are fans out there who are RESPECTFUL of his work.

there are ALSO fans who stalk the locations and interrupt him WHILE HE IS WORKING for pics and autpographs. THAT is not appropriate! while he's working people? COME ON! how would you like to be interrupted @ work? while i agree that fiasco of the crazy frizz & co. was RIDICULOUS, there hasn't been a repeat of that.

Hey 4tw! You make a good point. One is always bumping elbows in NYC, on the street, subways, etc. But imagine that those 100 people are focusing all their attention on YOU -- taking your picture, touching you, following you everywhere, YELLing at you (the worse because the bodyguards can't do anything about it.) For anyone that would be intrusive as h*ll. For sensitive Rob, well....... can you blame him?

Unfortunately, because they are filming there is always evidence such as the big trucks and trailers, equipment, paps, and crowds that twitter each other to reveal the locations. I don't think the bodyguards/security are the first ones to attract attention.

I love NYC. I hope Rob can come to grips with the situation and not reject NYC because of this. :-(

Here is a suggestion: Stay at a respectful distance, respect the fact that he is working (or whatever else he is doing) if by any miracle/chance you get to be near enough to him that he can hear you, be polite (for the love of god don't scream - it is so unatractive!) - say hi, how are you? He may be so plesantly surprised that he may feel like stopping and chatting for a minute or two and sign your damn book/give you a picture.

Treat people like you expect to be treated. I seriously doubt you'd like the kind of treatment he is experiencing.

I'm from Europe and I'm still annoyed with all this haha. Of course it's not exclusive. I've been following RM filming and most of those fans aren't even from NY. I've even read couple of fan encounters with him where he's freely walking through the city.

It just angers me that they are putting words in his mouth and making him look more paranoid than he is.
He survived those psychotic mall tours for gods sake and it was at beginning of everything.
I am convinced that he is happy to be working on a new movie and that he can broaden his movie career. And I am sure he enjoys New York too.

I think he should just have a couple more autograph signing/picture taking encounters with the fans. Give them 20 minutes and then walk away - there were some very happy fans that day

If you go on Amazon and type in Sookie Stackhouse you can get a 7 set box for around £30, there is 9 out so far. I had to get book 8 and 9 from amazon.com and imported from the states. There is a few holes here and there throughout but there is a book coming out in October of short stories called A Touch Of Dead and it will cover the holes. and book 10 is out next May. I loved Eric from book 1, alot of people don't like him but he is just Yummy! LOL

The books are by Charlaine Harris, the first one is called Dead Until Dark. I'm currently on the 2nd one - there's about 10 in the series, I think!

They don't quite have the magic or romance of the Twilight saga, but the vamps are pretty bad a$$ and there are NO 'fade-to-black' scenes, if you know what I mean... ;)

I know I can't wait, Its on FX on the 17th July, I am so excited, though series 2 looks alot better than the first, and god knows when we'll get it :( Sometimes I really wish I lived stateside so I can get to see things when they first came out.

But yes Eric is delicious, would advise you to read the books though. Although the series is based on the books it only follows them loosely. There is so much more to know about the characters and the books are amazing!

Pesky Disqus goes a bit funny on me sometimes. Not to worry I haven't been here long just reading everyone's comments.

The girls and paps in NY are absolutely ridiculous. Isn't there a law for stalking in NY? From the very first interview and at the Comic Con, Rob made it very clear that he absolutely couldn't stand and was in fact, embarrassed by the screaming fans. What did he say, he thought he was at "hell's doors" or something. It's obvious how much he has changed since the release of Twilight and I'm hoping that he's not going to turn into another Heath Ledger -- who according to rumors -- couldn't cope with fame and ended up turning to drugs and alcohol just to cope. I saw him (Rob) on the Today Show right before the release of Twilight and when they mentioned they wanted him to go outside and meet the fans, he was like "you want to go out there, it's going to be crazy".

I think Stephanie Meyer was right when she asked Sumitt if they really prepared Rob for what was going to happen once he made this movie. I think she did her best but I don't think they took her seriously.

What's worse is that I've heard stories that Taylor's publicist has told the fans that Taylor wasn't going to be talking to them at an event and they were wondering why. Preventive medicine? Taylor has been the most friendly with the fans from what I can see and with the last 3 movies, he's going to be as popular as Rob.

I don't think he'll be getting too much of a break since rehearsals start soon for Eclipse and supposedly, rumor has it that Breaking Dawn starts right after that.

I feel sorry for him and other than having all those bodyguards around him, there's got to be something they can do and just haven't thought of it yet.
