I find it truly disturbing that Robert can't even lift his head until he is really for his scene, the poor guy is going to end up the the Hunch Back Of Notre Damn! Even when he's talking to people he has to keep his head lowered and look at up at them. Its ridiculous! I feel so sorry for him, and he will not get away from it until at least Christmas. He's going straight back to Canada when he's done in NY so he'll be hounded. I just hope he gets even a little bit off time in between to hide. Heck come to Belfast Rob, the rock out my back garden is big enough for both of us to hide under, I'll protect you!

The rant was justified! I feel the same way. I think it's heartbreaking...he looks so sad. Unfortunately, this is gonna be his life for quite awhile.

The only reason I continued to watch the video was to purposely see if he lifted his head when he wasn't filming, and he didn't not once, makes me so angry. And yes fair enough everyone wants to get a glimpse or a piece off him, but they are disrupting filming. The director went a bit nuts and was screaming "we lost the shot, we lost the shot". And also did you see the crowds off people, how nerve wrecking that must be. It's like doing live TV. The poor guy his life is over!

I agree - I watched the video and was disgusted by the papps and some of the fans also. I can't believe they can't put up something to shield the shots they are taking from other people, maybe not in the park but certainly in the street. This is going to make it so nobody will want to hire him because of the crazies

Hopefully, things will simmer down. I think the sets are closed in Vancouver. Then, when he moves on to other movies they will hopefully not be filming on the streets of major cities where the location of their daily shoots are publicized,

I agree. Early on, he used to talk about what it would be like when he returns to his "regular life". It's beginning to sink in that that day isn't coming anytime soon.

If these paps don't quit taking so many pics, then the entire movie is going to be seen in just the photos alone. I mean, although I am a Wolfgirl, I like seeing pics of the actors too; but there has to be a limit. The guy has no privacy now and can't even film a scene on location without chaos. There's no way that this will spoil the movie. People forget the scenes they saw and at the end have no clue what's the scene about. It always looks totally different in the movie. So far we've seen Rob walking down the street, having a date and a fight, kissing on the beach...oh yeah and a chill out sesion on the roof haha. But it doesn't reveal the movie. They've been shooting for 3 weeks, there's a lot of scenes we haven't seen at all.
Those pictures are a good advertisement because I've seen that people are more interested in the movie now when they saw pictures and they want to know more. Especially because this is a small movie...
Movie crews in general let the paps get closer to get the pics because as I said it's a free advertisements.
BUT the problem is if you give the paps one finger they want to bite your entire hand!
And also because Rob is in this movie, the amount of paps and "fans" is enourmous. The outdoor scenes will always be public but because of Rob they are chaotic.
I feel really sorry for him, but it can't be avoided if you're filming a movie on the streets of New York.
I feel the crew did wrong here...they should make the line the paps and fans are standing much further away. I saw in the video they were too close.
Also we expect from paps to act like idiots, but the fact is that the fans are making it even more difficult. They expect for him to go and take pictures and sign things...they bring their Twilight books for gods sake. It seems they really can't understand that they are working.

I was adverting to the fact there are so many pictures and the paps are being allowed such access to this film. Sometimes this type of access can be a negative aspect and overshadow the actual film. And I truly would like for the actors to be seen for their abilities instead of the mere fact it is RPattz in the film. Yeah, his presence adds publicity. Nonetheless, the situation seems to have gotten completely chaotic with the photos, paps, and fans. And filming on location anywhere can be hectic.. but it is up to the producers and crew to ensure that the scenes can be filmed without so much pandemonium.

It is a small movie though, they have small budget. I don't think they can have a closed set. I doubt it will overshadow the movie, for now it just got people more interested. We are more exposed to that because of Rob, if Rob wasn't cast probably we wouldn't even know the movie is filming.
I think they are doing most of outdoor scenes at the beginning. There's a lot of them that are indoors. So it will be a period when we won't have new pics for days.
No one will be blind about the other actors abilities, but I was mentioning Rob because every movie has a crowd, but this one is all about him. They can't do anything. They even have to be nice to the paps because they are bullies. They can't remove them because it is a public space, and if they're harsh to them they can even make more trouble for the crew. That's why they alow them to come closer in between shoots. I personally don't mind the pics, I love seeing them...but only when the paps are far, far away.
There was no way that there's not going to be any pictures, but on Thursday they were too close. It was a big mess, and they failed big time.
They misjudged the situation and mess occurred. They managed to control it just fine after the first day.

We've pretty much seen the whole movie now, except for the love scene. Dang paps. I still can't believe they are allowed to take pictures while they're filming.

I don't know if Summit or the immediate producers are directly involved in the paps being there but I'm sure they aren't against them being there . I think they want to co-exist as peacefully as possible as they want good public relations and press for their movie.

Since theyare filming a movie about NYC in the streets of NYC, there's really no way to keep everyone out, the best they can do is try to keep everyone safe.

I have to say I am embarassed that I watched this video and I feel INCREDIBLY sorry for Robert and what he has to go through to try and do his job. I am disgusted at the photograhpers, the fans and even Summit for allowing this three ring circus to continue. Why in the name of God don't they just block off the streets within a three or four block radius? Why do they allow these papps to sit there snapping endless pictures and asking Rob to do something he clearly does not want to do. I know this movie is serious and there are serious parts, but Rob is also having an extremly difficult time concentrating so that he can channel those emotions. I don't know why any real fan would continue to support what these papparazzi are doing and I really am choosing not to watch any of it anymore. Watching Rob CLEARLY upset, and ignoring these men begging for him to look up was really disturbing and I felt so bad for him. Why does he have to look up? They have a million pictures of him, this is not going to be any different. I am sorry, watching that made me realize that admiration for Robert has turned into obsession and it has now reached a new level of weirdness that I do not want to be a part of. The only right thing that the papps said, was that Rob looked TERRIFIED and I am sure he is and more. JMO!

Is Summit so desperate to give this film exposure that they will stop at nothing, including making RP uncomfortable to do it? It is just not fun anymore and honestly, once filming is done, people will go onto the next thing and RM will be a dim memory until at least Feb.

I agree with you to a certain extent. The paps are irritating, but it has become rather obvious that Summit is purposely allowing them to get close to the production to pump up the exposure of the film. And Rob is probably aware of this.

Yes, it is probably really annoying and intrusive, but Rob is a professional and seems to be doing a great job based on what I have seen so far. The pics last night show him smiling and the day before he was smiling.

I do feel for him in a way, but he is an actor who has hit mega stardom and he is aware of that. This is just part of the process for him. He will be fine.

I agree to a degree. Having megastardom is one thing, but interupting the acting process is another. I think even the biggest stars, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt would never allow this to happen on one of their films. The one problem with RM in NYC, is that it is the summer. If the movie was filmed in fall or early spring I don't think it would be as crazy.

Do we really think that this movie is going to be on everyones mind after they finish shooting? They could easily just promote it before hand (which they will do) and fans fo Rob will go anyway.

I agree. Rob doesn't quit have the pull that Brad and Johnny does to make demands like that yet. Hopefully, after Rob gets through this and the Twilight movies, he can start making some demands on the movie production people.

I think it is funny though that we don't get any photos at all from the Twilight sets, with the exception of Italy, but that couldn't be helped.

Aloha, I won't be watching any more videos, but I do agree that watching without the audio would have been less annoying. Truthfully, even without listening, there is nothing reall of value to watching. They are filming and I feel like there will be no surprise to the film when it comes out because so much of it has already been photograhped and filmed.

Regarding Summit's decision to allow the papps to be there, I feel this could backfire on them. There is something called OVER Exposure and there will come a point (and they have probably 4 weeks more shooting) that enough is enough. I can NOT believe that Rob is just ok with it all, but I don't he does not have much of a choice. The man has 6 bodyguards at all times and he is terrified. He obviously wants the film to succeed, but how can it succeed when he can't even concentrate on these very emotional scenes. Just seems counter productive and takes away from the quality of the perfomances and the film.

I remember an interview with Rob in Canne and he said he wanted to be finished with the Twilight movies so he could move beyond Summit. I am sure he feels more and more like that with every passing day.

I think at this point in time Summit is all about PR and getting as much exposure as possible. They provided Rob with little security and he had to go out and hire some of his own. The guy probably never leaves his hotel and when he does he has to be paranoid. He is probably just hoping to get through the rest of filming and put this experience behind him. You would think he would say enough, but I just don't know. I hope this time passes quickly for him and most of all I wish this movie to be a success despite this craziness. Hopefully when he gets back to Vancouver it will be less stressful.

I agree with everything you have said Marissa. I made a similar statement below. And the overexposure is so true!! I bet most of the people that have seen these photos on E! or any other place don't even know what the film is truly about and see the Twilight Guy being bombarded with the paps.

I truly would not like to see Rob or any of the actors to develop into only a "pap star". Sometimes this type of publicity can backfire.

After I watched first video from the set od RM, I have decided that I wont watch these videos anymore.. i also dont check gossip websites for more pictures from set. I feel that with every click and every video I see i am supporting this craziness. I dont want to be part of it, I dont want to be responsible for that paparazzi annoying everyone on the set. and we are partly responsible if we watch their videos..
there are other web sites which refused to post stalking pics and videos, they only post official interviews and news .. maybe this is the way how to stop this obsessive, stalking and dangerous attitude toward Rob. all this attention can really destroy him and he doesnt look comfortable with it at all.

I think they can't block it, it costs money..and this movie doesn't have a big budget.
This is not avoidable.
Movies that are being filmed in a city like New York always have crowds, and paps, but because this one has Rob in it the crowd is bigger and there's more paps. There's always a lot of pictures from shooting in general, but we are aware of Remember me because of Rob...Angelina Jolie is shooting a movie outdoors and there's a ton of pictures on line.
It's an open area, they can't prevent them to come. Also they can't hide locations, twitter...twitter is the evil.
Once an information is out by one person, the chain of twitters eventually spreads.

I agree with crew not doing their job. I've mentioned it already, they are just too close. I was so surprised how close they are. It looks really chaotic.
We can't do anythig about it, but the crew has to...they obviously failed. They probably never had an experience of this intensity. I really hate the paps...I always remember what they did to Kristen and what they were saying to her. Something has to be done with the law...they have power and they know it.

I genuenly think even after this stressful day of shooting that he is enjoying himself. Yes, I was sickned with the video, and I usually don't watch them. But I also think there were good days also..and he has a chanse to work with different directors and damn good actors. To him I think it means a lot.

yes, when i first saw edward's face on a copy of twilight @ walmart, i thought 2 myself "OMG!! i have never seen a face soooooooooo sexier than that!" luckily, i had told my mom bout the series and dat my friends were obssesed w/ it, and she had read a review in da paper, so i could get the book. and its sort of uncomfortable talking bout da obssesion w/ my mom, b/c i love many of da actors, and i've never had a boyfriend. everytime she brings it up, im like "Mom, are we gonna talk about my obssesion with vamps, and the fact that i don't have a boyfriend?" and then shes just like "Guess not."

there seriously needs to be some paparazzi laws in north america. they production company really needed to get some permits to close down the streets, or in hindsight shoot elsewhere and do only what they really needed to shoot in NY. the paps seemed less overwhelming in vancouver, hopefully, he can get some rest back up in canada.

Did anyone see the whole video?? It was so chaotic. The director and the actors can't even get a shot in because of all the bystanders. And poor Rob, he couldn't even lift his head until they actually started filming the movie. :(

It really is very sad. And to be around all that chaos must be very frustrating. Alot of the Twilight cast talk about how the NM set and CW were very calm. This has to be hell after that.

This is what I don't understand. Why don't they hire a bunch of NYPD officers to cordone off the whole area? That would solve everything.

Trust me, I have worked security for commercial and movie sets before, it is not that difficult.

Granted I am an officer in a small southern town and it was not to this grand of a scale, but good Lord it is not rocket science people.

Well, I'm sure the NYPDs have enough to do besides baby-sit the movie set. :)
But, I do agree with you, the set needs more security coverage. And the fans and paparazzi need to just have more respect and actually let the actors do their job. Ugh, I hate paparazzi. Some are okay, but others completely harass famous people. it's really terrible. :(

Yeah, if I was an actress, I would be the ones all over TMZ for cussing them out and throwing things at them. I would have no patience for them at all.

And I agree that the officers have better things to do, but if they hire about 20 of them to work off duty, that is their official job for that time period and they work for the movie set. They don't answer calls or anything. It just seems to me that this would be a simple solution to the problem.

But of course Summit doesn't want a simple solution.

They py the police dept. for their services. Just like for a funeral or an event. I think it is a separate division of the police dept; and the there is always "crowd control"

Based on the video footage, there are a few NYPD around the set.
If they really needed extra PD they could request it, but why would they, seems like Summit enjoys the circus,lol!

Thank you Aloha for the kind words. I just truly respect and adore Rob and want this movie to be a success for him. I fear that the distractions and Summit's attempt to get more exposure for this film could hurt it in the long run. I love seeing pictures of Rob, but not under any circumstance and it bothers me to see him visibly distressed at the intrusions and interuptons. He probably keeps asking himself, "what do they want from me and how many more pictures can they take". It is not like there is anything new or earth shattering to report, so what is the point. Hopefully he is off the next few days away from the city or at least away from the craziness.

Hi cjean! I have been a member of this board for a few months now (when NM started filming). I am a big fan of the Twilight books, the movie and of course Rob and Kristen. I think Rob is a great actor with a bright future and I feel the same about Kristen. I admire both for what they have accomplished at such a young age and how poised and mature they are, compared to other stars their ages in Hollywood. I admire the fact that they are not caught up in the hyped and they are average people who just love what they dol.

In case anyone is interested, The Big Tease show on ReelzChannel is showing the New Moon trailer and they have a small like five minute segment talking about Taylor buffing up and how the CG looks a lot better and Chris is awesome.

I have to say I feel extremely bad for the guy. I know he probably loves his job and what not that is why he agrees to all these movies, but man it looks so eh...I don't really have a word for it. The way people react around him is beyond insane and it's sad he needs that many people looking over his back. Hes only 23 after all.

So does anyone know how long Rob will be filming in NY? I've heard it was only supposed to be a few weeks, but I wasn't sure on an exact date. I am going to NY in the beginning of September and would love love love to see him. Hoping to catch him at a cool bar!
