According to FanBolt.com, Robert Pattinson revealed what his favorite scene in New Moon is: The Break Up -

“I think my breakup scene was my favorite scene. I mean, hopefully it’ll come off as having quite a few more levels than the relationship in ‘Twilight’. It was interesting. It was like a five page long dialogue scene. That didn’t happen at all in the first one and it’s quite an interesting little moment. It completely bypasses all the supernatural elements of the story, as well, which I found quite interesting.” Pattinson explained.

I’m looking forward to seeing this on screen. It was extremely well written in the book, and I would love to see it played out. However, I will be well equipped with tissues and wearing water proof mascara!

    This is one of the scenes I'm very most looking forward to. KStew better look like she's in total grief and misery, rather than looking like a blinking, stuttering mess... or she's never gonna redeem herself from that awful acting in the first movie.
    And RPattz better look like what Edward was feeling during the break-up scene... rather than looking like a constipated antisocial.
    This is one of the BEST scenes from the whole Twilight Saga series. It was well-written and yes, I want to see it play out in front of my eyes. Those 5 page dialogue scene better be worth it!

    no offense, but rob's answer was his most lame i've heard from that cc conf. why just he couldn't say the reunion scene with bella, i'm pretty sure this would tickle more robsten fans. maybe to get off with all the speculation going on between them? these two were like indifferent with each other now, compared last year, where they looked so sweet together..

    Maybe this scene was more challenging as an actor and that's why it became his favorite. He's probably proud of the work that he and Kristen did. I think he gave an honest answer to the question.

    They asked him, as an actor, what was his favorite scene. Rob is known to speak his own mind in interviews. Apparently, this was his favorite scene in this movie.

    If asked what the most difficult scene to do in NM he might have said the reunion scene as the logistics, the makeup, the time-crunch to get it all done in time to get back to the US in time for the MTV Awards show made the whole thing so demanding, not to mention the whole suicide plotline he had to act out.

    I thought this scene in the book was heartbreaking for Bella because Jacob had become her best friend in the wake of Edward leaving her. She felt truely alone and heartbroken in losing Jacob, too. She still had a sense of loss even though they had never dated.

    Taylor is very young, seventeen. He has worked very hard on improving his body. I think that he actually does quite well in interviews for his age. His natural energetic, friendly personality shines when interviewed.

    I cried like a bloody baby in the break up scene-I felt like he was breaking up with me-so this scene in the movie will kill me...

    The b/u with Jake & Bella, wasn't emotional for me because it just wasn't a deep love break up, not like with Bella & Edward-it felt more like friends...but it was still sad, and I hurt for Jake...

    But this scene with Edward & Bella, brought up every break up I ever had, and killed me...

    I will be sobbing in the movie, I already know it!!

    You know,she looks fine and I would have liked her if she was originally casted in Twilight,but she wasn't and Rachelle is OUR Victoria...

    I just don't like ppl(with powerful daddies)taking over fired(but worthy and beloved)people's jobs,especially in this case,where there seems to be so much we'll never get to know that went on in the backstage...

    Even if Rachelle didn't inform them at time,they shouldn't get back at her that way,it's childish,really.

    I never cry when reading this scene in the book,actually I never cry when reading the twilight saga. am I callous? kinda,SPOILER for those who haven't read HP yet but intend to...the only times I've cried was when 7 of my favourite characters died in HP. those scenes were freaking heartbreaking. damn you Rowling for wiping them all out sniff sniff lol

    I cried like a bitch when Edward left Bella! I couldn't believe the reaction I was having hah. And I'm not a cry baby. I rarely cry anyway. But it just got me somehow...especially because the uneasy feeling after the party that was festering.
    I knew somethig is going to happen, I felt so bad when Bella was fooling herself and thinking that he want's them to leave all together and when she's preparing herself...but then BAM! I just couldn't stop....

    Btw, I cried a lot when I was reading Deathly Hallows! Not only when she killed off you know who, but also when Harry goes toward the end you know where to meet his destiny...I was sobbing at that point.

    I never cried while reading the Twilight saga either..When Edward broke up with Bella I wasn`t teared up like it seems that everyone else was.. Maybe because I had read some reviews on the book and new what was comming, I dont know? I was a little shocked when I saw people started crying while seeing the NM trailer,that was a little much for me. LOL
    I still love the books and it`s a sad scene.. maybe I`ll cry when I see it in the movie.. :)

    It may be because he like didn't brake up with her out of the blue. bella has a feeling that he puts distance between them. you feel 'Uh-oh somethings coming up'. But I am sure that in the movie it will be faster, more traumatic and really heartbraking.

    i just pray tha Rob will show the full force od D*ckward in this scene. it's essential for Taylor to show the goodspirited Jacob.

    i'm quite exited for the reunion scene where edward tells bella how much he loves here and why did he leave her.

    And I love the quote of jacob when he says 'I'm sorry bella that I can't be the right kind of monster for you.'

    I agree. It will be exciting to see how Rob will do in that scene and how dark he can go. I think he`ll do well :) AND we do want to see that reunion scene in the bedroom where Bella thinks she`s still asleep and Edward have to tell her that he is here to stay.. ahhh :)

    I like that Jacob quote too, one of the better ones in NM. Hopefully they`ll put it in :)

    Yeah...that's one of my favourite scenes too.. To me there is only ONE break up scene in NM, and it's the one with Edward and Bella!
    The thing that happened with Bella and Jake, well I just don't see it as a break up. It wasn't that emotional and hard...I felt sorry for Bella though, but it wasn't that bad. But I guess it's easy for them to classify it like that.
    Bella and Edward break up is devastating, it's just really hard to read. Even now, after reading NM for so many times I have difficulty with that part.

  • New Moon was my favourite book because it dealt with a lot of raw emotion and I cried through this scene and after when Bella was alone in the forest. In fact I cried a lot while reading it - sob, sob. Even the passing of the months got to me. Geez I need to toughen up!

    Rob will do a brilliant job as usual. Can't wait to see the movie. I'm taking tissues.

    I was a pathetic, runny-nosed, cross-eyed from tears MESS when I read that scene. I'm a romantic, and that just RUINED me for a couple hours. I almost skipped forward just for him to come back. Almost.

    I'm excited to see it in the movie, based on the picture above. She honestly looks shocked and confused, and he looks pained but in control... like he doesn't want her to see this one moment when his composure kinda failed him.

    I'm dreading this scene because I know I will be crying my eyes out. And yet I'm excited to see it because I know Rob and Kristen are gonna blow us away with their performance.

  • How will we all ever get it out of our system enough to be productive throughout the rest of the day after we see it (over and over and over...) I'll be crying just thinking about it afterwards. I'll definitely be shedding the tears at their break-up, but I will bawl like an uncontrollable baby seeing the look on Jake's face as she leaves for Italy and when she leaves him again at the end after he brings her bike to her house. If that's what happens to me just by reading the books I don't even want to imagine what it will be when it's brought to life!

    The book that definitely got me crying was BD .....OMG I read Bella's book and cried my a*** out!! It was so sad, I get sad when I think about it...... :(

    I like that he says it has a lot of dialogue. I felt like that was lacking in twilight, the dialogue between edward and bella. I'm excited to see what that scene will look like even though it'll make me sad.....but at least we know he'll be back!
  • There was NO dialogue between Edward & Bella in Twilight. Just like the one scene where she's asking him a few questions out in the woods. Which is like an entire chapter in the book.
  • i agree. i this movie will have a LOT more dialogue than twilight. and a lot from the book. it gets me excited thinking of it. I believe Chris was very direct with the screenwriter on what he wanted, and that's why he should be on the last two projects as well.

    I loved their dialogue in Twilight.. it was entertaining. I wouldn't have minded hearing the lines "irritated grizzly bear" and when she wakes up when he stayed over "your hair looks like a haystack" lol. Would've been sooo much better!
  • My thoughts exactly! Five pages of dialogue for one scene is almost more than they had together throughout all of Twilight! How sad...Still makes me sick to my stomach knowing how that movie was not given its true justice.

    I'm excited / sad to see this scene (like everyone else is)...on a side note, the colors in that screen picture are just so vivid. I am super excited for the "professional" cinematography (that was relatively nonexistent in twilight)...makes it feel more like I'm there with them.

    I think for this movie and this movie ALONE Wolf Girls and Vamp Girls are going to get equal share of break up scenes...

    Both of the Teams will have to get lot of tissues and lot of waterproof mascara (the last one is not a necessity for guys - unless they wish to, of course!!)

    I hope both the scenes are equally heartbreaking and touching - Personally I am very very excited and scared to see Jake/Bella break up scene - I might have to run out of theater to stop my sobbing!!

    When I read NM, I was sad reading both break-up scenes.. for all three of them. Yet I had no tears. I was a bit depressed, but maybe my romantic side is screwed up? lol. I'm sure I'll be affected in some way, though, seeing each of their faces during these scenes.

    Well, I *did* get teary and sniffly when Bella went to see Jake in Eclipse and gave him the spiel.. not so much *during* that scene, but when she sobbed her face off, wanting Edward, but another part wanting Jake. That's what did it for me. :(

  • I must be heartless because I didn't actually cry either. I did feel awful during both scenes. I felt bad for Edward during his breakup because he had to lie and try and be calm about it when you know he wanted to grab her and keep her close. I felt bad for Bella in her friend breakup with Jake because it was so harsh!! The yelling and awful things he was saying and she just could not understand (mainly because he couldn't tell her everything).

    That scene in Eclipse got me hard though after she had to be honest with Jacob.
