however, i NEED to say something. seriously, if breaking dawn is kept PG, that is going to suck. i mean, sorry for the little kids who would want to see the series end, but at the same time, look at the book. if its going to be kept acccurate at all to the book, the rating is going to have to change.

Breaking Dawn cannot be PG! Seriously, does Melissa Rosenberg not realize at all how big of an adult fanbase these books have?? If it is made to be PG, there really is no point. The movie has to be accurate to the book even if the story gets a little more adult.

I completely agree. And the fan base is growing older as these movies are being made. By 2011 those 13 years olds of last year will be 17. I dont remember seeing many 13 year olds in the theater either. Mostly older teens and many adults. They should make 2 breaking dawn movies. One pg-13 and one rated R.

I totally agree! This movie has to be R rated!!!! Since the Twilight movie came out the fanbase has grown more towards adults. If they skip the hot sexy scenes and the whole birth part then what's the point of making the movie? Stephenie Meyer might be Mormon but look at how she wrote the books!! I admit it was a little watered down at times (especially after they were married) I wanted to read more into the sex scenes. ok I am basically in the age range of 18-30 years old and am definitely flipping over the books. I am sure they can do the movie that will enable the fans of all ages to still watch and appreciate it.

I'm LDS aka Mormon, lOOOVED the books and movie and certainly anxiously awaiting the next three movies. As for mormons, NOT being allowed to watch rated "R" NOT true! Its a suggestion that many LDS take it as a commandment, but it enfuriates me cause it gives us a bad name. Two: Edward Cullen Coven said it best...Me being included, there is THOUSANDS of "mormon" girls /ladies that love the book the way it was written AND that is EXACTLY what WE WANT to see, the gore, sex, bruises all the **giggles/blushes** steamy things that had our you know what a tid-bit humid. ;) So, for the record, I and MANY other "mormon" girls uphold that Breaking Dawn be filmed as written. I totally agree with you i think they should break the film in to two so they can do more from the book. And noway the film cannot be a PG, the film will need the fight sequences to make it! I mean there are more older people reading the books and watching the films, more than the younger generation!! So it has to have these parts in!

Although it is with regret that i would like to keep breaking dawn a pg-13 movie, therefore restricting viewing access the the younger generations, i feel that through doing this, we are keeping our "code". our code as fans (and the producers/cast/crew) should be to remain the utmost of loyal TO THE BOOK. and to remain loyal to the series, the movies must be kept as accurate as possible.

here's my feelings...If the "kids" can read it in the books and that's fine why should they have to delete the scenes from the movie? Agree, I do not think they should take away from the integrity of the book because of the audience the movies have attracted. That is the parents responsibility. And forget about the sex scene, anyone can handle a sex scene. What about the birth scene, is it going to be like Pulp Fiction with the venom straight to the heart. I am interested to see how it all will be done and if Summit will hold true to the books. It is the fans that are our age (24 also) that are the ones spending all the money on books and DVDs anyway.

To be honest here i'm 13 and people i know that's my age don't think putting sex scenes in BD is a big deal.Tons of 13 yrs old i know talk about sex and say when they would like to lose their virginity and some already had.

I dont see why we cant have a tasteful sex scene at the very least. You see alot just on tv these days. They could have a nude silluette like ocean scene, and brief glimpses of skin during the sex scene. I just hope we get as much gore as possble during the birth scene. I mean Bella goes through a lot and near death is the only way Edward would change her. I'd love an R version, but maybe would settle for PG-17?

Breaking Dawn was about Bellas journey from the weak human pawn to the powerful vampire queen... her ability is what saves the day its her moment giving proof that she was made for that life that she was born for vampirism.. if they make a real comabt fight at the end.. ill be so pissed... to me that would completly negate the whole series

I agree, everyone laments that there is not a real "fight" scene in Breaking Dawn, but Bella really comes into her own in this book and Edward and Bella are the ultimate power couple. It will be a chance to stage a really marvelous show down with the ground splitting open and jane trying to attack everyone through Bella's shield - lots of things going on.... it just means getting the right director with the capacity to do this (and Renesme). I believe it can be done.

Well they could add a little bit of fighting, like some other vampires we dont care about and some of the good visiting vampires. Seeing the tragidy that is about to occur causes Bella to finally search down inside herself and find you secret power to protect all those we love. This way the regular audience gets some action and it follows the book in the end. Of course as someone said above the Volturi's attempts to break her shield could be spectacular.

I don't think it was a lame ending at all. Anybody can write a huge fight scene (and keep in mind, she already had TWO of those) but to have a huge confrontation end semi-peacefully was really different.

Plus, if there had been a fight, you know some Cullens would have died and then people would have been beyond angry. So, you know, people can't have it both ways.

I agree. Although there was a huge build up to the end and everyone expected a fight, there was no way SM could've pulled it off without hurting anyone's feelings. Personally, I would be heartbroken if anything happened to any of the Cullens *gasp* and saddened if something happened to the wolves. I don't care so much for the Volturi... lol, but there was just no way for her to make a realistic battle without some of our favorites kicking the bucket.

Writing myself, i see where SM was coming from. it,s really really difficult to write a fight scene coz it's subjective. you can't really describe a fight without being boring "so he stuck the sword between two ribes and the poor bloke bleeded to death...." it was definitely the easier way for her to handle the story. plus, it had to be a happy ending! who would want any of our favourite characters dye???

I agree. The whole point of the last fight was to show that Bella is no longer the weakest person in the Cullan Clan. She was now the strongest + the protector. Only she was able to save them at that time. I don't want too much deviation from the book but it could be really cool if Ben, the guy who can manipulate the elements like fire, threw some at the Volturi, but not hitting them which will cause a fight. Just a thought.

Edward didn't know this because Carlisle didn't even know. That's why Alice and Jasper had to leave to go and find Nahuel the half vampire. They had to prove to Aro, Caius and Marcus that Renesmee was not one of a kind. Aro's agrument was they didn't know what she would grow up to be. Alice bringing Nahuel and letting his story be known, that his father was a vampire and that he took humans to creat a new super race(half vampire children) proved they had nothing on the Cullens. 2. Vampire body fluids constist of venom and do moisture the parts that should be moistured (contact lenses get decomposed in vampire eyeballs)

i agree.... tho there are kids who shouldnt see stuff like that.. but i think they should make 2 versions of the movie one rated R for all the awsome intense stuff that REALLY happens and make a PG or PG13 for the other kids! lol... that be great that way we would all be happy :)

kerbear585------You're right. Have you seen some of the soap operas lately. There are lots of kids who watch them and no one says anything. Why,kids can get a sex education on some of them lol. Seriously-there are things on tv that kids watch and it's a lot more graphic than what's in this book. Don't kid yourself,kids know a LOT more than parents think they do. The things they here and see from other kids at school would curl some parents' hair. So if people think their kids can't handle this-don't take them,but don't ruin it for all the other ages out there. It's not a Disney movie for crying out loud. I'll get off my soapbox,now. haha

omg i totally thought that too when i was reading the books. i thought that their bickering was like a playful banter and they would fall in love! lol.

I would love to see Chris Weitz direct Breaking Dawn but I think I heard that he will be making a different movie. Sence some people has said they will start making Breaking Dawn after Eclipse. Also if they do that then David Slade will be out because he will be getting Eclipse ready. Also I think they will need to hurry and start Breaking Dawn soon after Eclipse because of the cast sence most are not spossed to age and has to look the same. Look at all the problems their having with Kristens hair. Also I think the movie should be atleast PG-13 sence I dought they will make it rated R. Even though I know alot of underage kids get in R rated movies. Hell my 11 year old was spossed to go see a rated PG movie and her and her friends went and seen a rated R movie instead without a adult. If kids want to see it they will and they rateing won't matter. I also don't think they should tone it down. Plus I don't think they will follow the book like they should because they havn't yet in any of the movies but from what I can tell Chris is the closest to following the book so far. I mean on the first tailer he had Jacob changing into the wolf in front of Bella when he goes after Lauriot. Bella don't even know Jacob is a werewolf then. I also dn't want to talk about Twilight because then I get mad because no blood typing and no sitting with Edward in the lunch room. I mean who cares about catching a stupid apple. Ok now back on track. I hope they don't leave out the good sceens like Isle Esme and all the love sceens or tone them down. It wil ruin the movie or movies.Plus most parents will take their kids to see the movies as long as they keep with the books. My oldest daughter is 14 and to keep up with her I have read all the books atleast 4 times each and watched Twilight at least 50 times. Everytime I turn around she puts it in. For he 14th Birthday she had a Twilight party. I bought a cake and had them put a creepy forest like in Twilight and spent 35 buxs on the Edward and Bella dolls and put them on it. I got her the Twilight game and they played that plus we watched the movie. Also to drink I used 7up and put grenadine in it and called it blood. I also used some bowls and put water in them and a little dry ice and it made a cool effect in my house. It looked like it should be a creepy forest without the trees. Imagine 7 teenage girls coming to a party like that. Now i'm mother of the year!!!!!!!!!!! Ok enough about that but please Summit atleast make it PG-13.

jake didn't change in front of bella in the scene where laurent was involved. it's a cut from another scene (i guess it's when paul and jake gets into a fight because bella knows about werewolves)... just so you know ;)

One thing we all to remember about the "sex" scene is Stephanie Meyer wrote her books a certain way-to leave some to the imagination, which is not a bad thing. If Stephanie has anything to do w/ Breaking Dawn becoming a movie, which she will, it will be part of her say on the sex scene, which will be a no-go.

Ok. I'm sorry Summit, but Breaking Dawn HAS to be rated R. Its as simple as that. The gore and violence is essential. And the s**, we have all been waiting for that. Even in the booked Stephenie couldnt get into detail, after we all waited through three books. But the birth scene? Come on! They have to keep it just as it is in the book. It will be s*** if they dont. And they are not working with a PG audience. That kiss scene in Twilight was pretty steamy if you ask me, and correct me if Im wron, but wasnt Twilight rated PG-13? Hmmmmm. Keep Breaking Dawn how it is in the novel and screw the 15 and under audiences! Breaking Dawn is for the big kids!

I have read the complete 'saga' a multitude of times; and that's putting it lightly! I couldn't even begin to imagine that the most exiting book in the series (in my opinion) would not be made into a movie. The excitement leading upto the wedding and honeymoon are enough in themselves to drive a fanatic such as myself mad! The anticipation to see the story told in an animated view from Jacob is also just as exciting. The tension and hilarious relationship that has sprouted between Jacob and Rosalie is something that is so amusing that it being transferred onto the big screen is so necessary!
I too do have concerns that they will not be able to recreate the divinity that is Renesmee, but, based upon Bella's fevorant description of Edward, who could imagine that Robert could have done so with such capability? Seeing Bella as this 'amazingly beautiful creature' reinacted from Kristen is also questionable. How can they reiterate such beauty into a character that did not have such for three screenings?
Overall, I am confident that Stephanie would not let us down. I am ecstatic that she chose to steer away from Catherine and utilize Chris Weitz. His vision is a sureal honor to the book we all love. Catherine steered away from so many vital aspects that it was virtually a disgrace to the translation of Stephanie's vision. My personal opinion is to transfer the series into movies with no re-writes, staying true to Stephanie's remarkable literature. Having a new movie from the series to look forward to, every year, for the next ten years isn't such a bad thing in my opinion.

Agava- I 'm with you. I don't want any gaps in this. Too much to miss.I think it should be two different movies to get it all in Part 1 & Part 11. There's too much to cover to get in all the good stuff in an hour and a half or so. Or I'd sit through a four hour or more movie,if they'd make it. haha

Absolutely. They should make 2 movies. The book is more than 700 pages and there's a lot going on. Even a 2 h movie won't be enough to show all the important bits. And for god's sake 2 movies is 2 times more money. And Summit loves money. So I think they will go this way regardless.

I think they should make 3 movies so that each part of BD is concentrated in one movie..well at least i would like jacob to tell part of his story too.(:

I think we all know Breaking Dawn was a little more risque than the other 3... but it's still part of the story! All the fans want to see Bella and Edward finally have Sex and Bella's transformation.... Isn't that what the entire series leads up to???

My 11 yr old Goddaughter read the series and believe me she has heard A LOT worse in elementary school. Its not like it was back in the day (i'm 26).

It doesn't really matter what she intended though, the Twilight Saga is in the teen section of all the bookshops. It is. Her publishers publish it as a book for young adults/teens. That is how it is. And I have read the books, and they read like kids books to me. The language and the simplicity of the writing. Maybe thats why she didn't make it into adult fiction...?

They won't make the movie 16s, there is nothing we can do about it. It will be great either way - lets not stress...

I totally see what you are saying - that Meyer didn't write them specifically for teens, but for whatever reason - that they weren't good enough writing or the subject matter or whatever - they have been published in the teen catergory and so there is nothing we can do about it! I would estimate that the majority of Twilight fans are kids, and without kids I would never have even picked it up so I'm really glad about that!

Either way - it'll be a great movie, even if they leave a truckload out - the book will still be there to fill in the blanks!

Just checked in case its just in Ireland that they are for children and they are recommended for grades 10-12 in the US. I don't know what that means but I take from it that they are for kids everywhere and not just over here!

Twilight - 12 to 16 (self explanitory, it's HS)
New Moon - 14 to 18 (I don't know any 12 yr olds that think about proposing)
Eclipse - 16 to 20 (begging for sex, uh...not for 12 or 14 yr olds)
Breaking Dawn - 18 to 48 (this one's for adults, even SM thought about putting a warning on it)

seriously! What violence and gore?!?! there is nothing in Breaking Dawn that is hardcore what so ever. and on another note..why the heck are they going for a PG rating?! Last time I checked the Twilight Saga is for Young Adults..PG-13 is more appropriate. I do love Chris Weitz, seriously, a lot, he is really good looking as well, i think. But even though he has done a billion% better then CH at directing no one knows how David Slade is going to do.

So i'm not going to chant until i see ALL of New Moon and ALL of Eclipse and then compare. Thats only fair. As you never know David could do a better job then Chris, as there is a lot going on in Eclipse. More so then New Moon.

Finally, if Breaking Dawn is not put onto the big screen then i will personally shoot my granny. Twilight is a saga, without Breaking Dawn it's incomplete and unfinished. There is really no point in making three movies without the final one, for the happy ending and for the sexy time on Isle Esme.

If i don't get my sexy time on Isle Esme i will shoot my mum as well. Summit and SM would be bananas not to put breaking Dawn onto the big screen because this franchise and the fans that love Twilight can only get bigger.

My thing is this. Realistically speaking, they are probably going to make it PG13. But I don't understand why they want to dumb it down. It's not like ALL the fans have not read the book. It had blood, gore, and sexual innuendos in it. So what? You can make a bloody gorey birthing scene with a PG13 rating. It is not impossible.

Think about The Uninvited and The Unborn. Gory films, but were PG13.

Ok, I saw during the TCA's that they had ALL rated R movies and mature TV shows nominated in all categories. So if they teens are seeing these movies, then why can't they get into a rated R BD? Doesn't make sense to me.

Why does Melissa Rosenberg et al. seem to think that Twilight's demographic is primarily the under-17 crowd? Not only are there TONS of women from all age groups who have loved the Twilight series from the start (my grandmother has a poster of Edward in her kitchen!), but the Twihards who read the books when they were originally released are now certainly old enough to see a R-rated film.

I really hope they don't "dumb"down "the sex and violence in BD. Fundamentally, it is NOT a story appropriate for young girls. Sex is a crucial and much-anticipated part of the story (I want a fantastic beach scene on Isle Esme!! Give it to me!!). And I can't envision any way to portray Bella's pregnancy/birth in a non-bloody manner. That entire story-line is intended to be disturbing.

Was Summit watching the TEEN Choice awards?? You know they were!! So they obviously saw some of the movies nominated. Obsessed, Angels and Demons, Taken, Pinapple Express, Tropic Thunder, Role Models, Drag Me to Hell, The Uninvited!! Most of the movies nominated were PG-13 or R even. I think the only thing PG you got there was either to do with Hanna Montana or the Jonas Brothers. There is no reason to keep the movie PG. That is a joke and an attempt for Summit to make more cash and screw the fans of the series which they have done over and over again. Any parent that is upset about the movie being PG-13 had no business letting their kid read the book!! Go to any book store and the Saga will be in the young ADULT section!!!
I'm all for a PG-13 rating for the theater and then a director's cut DVD rated R version. I think that will make most of the fans very happy. There is no reason why they can't keep everything in the book and keep it PG-13 if it is done tastefully. There that is my two cents. lol

The ONLY reason all these books are being placed in young adult sections of bookstores is because they are about teenagers. Because Stephanie said she wrote this series for herself, her sister and that age group, but the books were placed in young adult.

They'll give us the water, then a bit of them in bed before her waking up in the morning. Satisfy the adults without freaking out the kids.

Edward and Jacob will help each other with the CSection, but we won't see her down there, mainly her face and blood on the both the guys hands, and Jake breathing into her.

And I'm sure they'll show us them at the cottage. But again, only to a certain point...to satisfy the adults and still be mindful of the kids.

There won't be any nudity, but close. And I don't need to see Kristen full on naked, seriously...Rob with his shirt off and getting steamy, works perfect enough for me...

All fans of the book are old enough for AT LEAST PG13. If these kids can read about the sex scenes (which are pretty mild and vague) they can see it! I think she is just making excuses... Oh, and Chris Weitz NEEDS to do BD! Harry Potter HBP was ruined because it was made PG. They took all the action and exciting stuff out. Why is everyone so concerned with appealing to the G-PG age range? They have enough movies coming out! Why can't they keep the movies for the more mature audiences the way they should be!

A little sidenote for Summit Ent.

The Notebook is a good example. It got a PG-13 rating..and from what I recall there is a very very very very steamy sex scene...after the get caught in the rain. Its steamy yet classy..didn't show much skin..but you knew that they were doing. If that scene got a PG-13 rating..ummm then we can see some of that between Edward and Bella...and im more than positive that a bunch of Tweenies have seen the notebook probably more than 5 times..just saying.

BD must have scenes:
1. Edward and Bella's wedding
2. Isle Esme - you can't leave out the classic line "Why am I covered in feathers?"
3. Bella becoming a vampire - hunting in that silk white gown

I know... i can't wait to see Edward's sexy turn on when he sees Bella ripped that silk white dress....

And when Bella basically oogles Edward when he hunting.... Didn't she say it was very "Sensual"!!!!!!!

Everyone thinks the ending of BD was rubbish, but I think the volturi confrontation can still exciting because of what bella does with her shield. They could do some really cool cgi for when she manipulates her shield and when jane and alec try their powers on it.

(LMAO though i dont mind rob xD) , but it needs to be known what their intentions are , what their doingg. they could play it by the book , first bella remembers going into the water w/edward.(showing their backs or something since hteir waist deep in the water.) then they could maybe show thier feet walking into the house. then bam! brids singing and it's morning, and bella has a little flashback of feathers in the air then shot to edwaards face, and then they talk like in the book. the other isle esme scenes wouldnt be that difficult eithier, just show edward whisking her away into the room or something.

I think if they can handle reading the book they can handle watching the movie.....I mean come on there is worse movies out there I am sure they watch...Make the movie like the book don't change a thing it will take away the thrill of it....I say MAKE BREAK OF DAWN!!!!!Can't have 3 with out the 4th just is not right at all.......I could not put the whole seriers down for noting and when I was waiting for one of the books from the librey I could not take it anymore and had to go and buy that one......AWESOME BOOKS...I want to see all 4 of them in movies and im not a teen...I dont think you realize how many out there that are my age who like it and can't wait to see it and I'm 36...My freind had the same issue as I did we acually made it a race on who could read them all 1st and find out the turth on what was going on.......I think there is more adults into it then there is 13yrs old....MAKE THE MOVIE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone is making a big deal over sex scenes and the birthing scene in breaking dawn! first of all if you have read breaking dawn thoroughly you would have noticed that when edward and bella go to isle esme yes they have sex but it doesnt tell you about it it just goes to the next day. and the birthing scene im sure they will figure out they arent going to make the first three movies pg 13 and the last one rated R that wouldnt make any sense at all.

Let the views us there imagnation when that part comes that what they did when they we reading the books i am sure

Im a major fan of the whole twilight saga.as ive said im 13 and i think personally that if this movie is rated PG the movie will be f&*ked up and entirely not cool. i compleatly agree. this is not geared to -12 year olds it is geared to people in their teens and older. stephenie wrote this series with no specific age group in mind but figured it wud b more adult.

Why do they think really little kids read this. Especially Breaking Dawn. Little kids shouldn't read it or at least they need to be mature enough to read it. I personally think most fans are in the teen and up range not 8 year olds. (although some 8 yr olds do read it)

It is not right to base a decision on the rating and screenplay on what would be too much for young kids. They need to stay as true to the book as possible without losing the substance that keeps it moving from one scene to the next.

Breaking Dawn is absolutely a PG-13 book, so the movie should be as well. I mean the birthing scene is SUCH a dramatic part of the book, the way Stephanie writes it needs to be in the movie. That scenes as well as a few others, sets the tone for the whole book. And so does the sex talk. I mean I'm Team Jacob, but even I enjoyed all the sex jokes and the special moments Bella/Edward finally got to have. Those need to be in the movie.

If they're not going to make all of them, then they shouldn't have made any of them. And, Melissa Rosenberg gets it wrong once again - not ALL the fans are PG age range. In fact, most are not. There is a way to make BD scenes in a tasteful way. The sex scenes in BD were not explicit, but left a lot to the imagination - I can see how that can translate to the screen. I just saw The Time Traveler's Wife, and there was nudity, sex and gore in it, but it was PG13, so there's no way they can say it can't be done. Besides, most PG13 kids today probably know more than Melissa Rosenberg knows.

The wedding was one of the best bits, they can easily put that in. They can put in the Volturi and all that scene at the end. They can show a little of Renesmee and also the other little parts of the book. This is all, if it isn't R-rated.

With R-rated Breaking Dawn will still make money, a lot more then any of the others i think as well because it will be the last one. With it being R-rated you have everything in the book put onto the film. I hate how summit think that most twilight girls and guys are under the age of 15. Most are 15 and older. The audience will still be massive if it is R-rated.

Plus, Isle Esme could be done easily and perfectly with R-rated. CGI will be capable to do Bella being pregnant, i'm not sure about the birth but they can easily figure out something. A horror film makeup lady/guy could make it work.

But i agree, it needs to be R-rated.

I agree with Will! Just as Summit waited until Twilight's box office numbers were out to officially announce, I think they will do the same with NM. Personally I believe NM will obliverate a lot of all time records. It's just too big of a movie with too much hype. Plus, I think, every 15 minutes someone converts another into a Twilight fan.

I trust in Stephenie to give Summit guidelines. Granted SM doesn't watch anything over a PG-13, but hopefully she allows it. It really needs to be a strong PG-13 or R.

If you let your kids read Breaking Dawn, they should be old enough to see it. I am Praying that they make Breaking Dawn into a movie for sure! but the one thing I was looking forward to was the fact it would be more...."adult" and the fact that they would cut most of that out.....dont they know that the younger fans will be a few years older by the time it is released? ....Not to mention the fact that Breaking Dawn is going to have to be at least 3 hours to fully cover everything including the stress and emotion. But they havnt let us down yet so hopefully it will all work out!

Ok, maybe I'll get flamed for this... lol... but I have to. I haven't seen anyone with my reactions to BD, but here you are:

I have some mixed feelings in regards to BD being a movie. I DO want it made for the sake of having all the books being made into movies.. and it does have its good points. That alone will make me want it. BUT...

Pros:

1) The wedding (was all good, though I felt sorry for Jake when he came)

2) Parts of the honeymoon (ie: the water scene I liked, ripped nightgown mention)

3) Edward portrayed as a non-talking, staring, fire-burning zombie (interesting to see how Rob would do that)

4) Jake's POV! (best part imo - and with plenty of Rose/blonde jokes)

5) Parts of birth scene (ie: watching the two men she loves save her)

6) Bella being a vamp

7) Seeing more Volturi and for a longer length of time

8) Seeing all the vamps and their powers, though they don't get to do much but hang around the Cullen's

9) Understanding Leah better/her and Jake's interaction

Cons:

1) Parts of the honeymoon (oddly was a tad boring a lot of the time - I was all about reading something good and didn't get much)

2) The whole concept of pregnancy made me sort of groan at first (It felt cliched and too normal at first)

3) Jake being hurt (disliked his suffering in numerous parts); though I guess that was inevitable

4) Edward wanting Jake to get Bella pregnant (understand he was in lots of pain but the false hope it gave Jake was sad)

5) The way SM made it sound like it was JUST Renesmee that wanted Jake around (Idk, I'd want my best friend around b/c he's my best friend not cause my kid is going to be an imprintee)

6) No big fight - lots of standing around yapping at each other

7) Jake imprinting on the hybrid ::heaves:: haha

8) The son-in-law comment ::heaves more:: lol

9) Charlie's reactions (would love to see reaction to Jake/wolf, but not wanting to know WTH is wrong with his daughter? please)

10) The Renee excuse (I love my mom, she's my best friend; now I don't want her here.) Thought it was a piss-poor excuse.. she's her mother; she would deal with the weirdness just like charlie did.

11) Rosalie (even tho Bella asked her she came across as completely uncaring about her and wanting only to keep the baby safe)

So yeah, as you can see... my feelings are all over when it comes to BD. lol. As far as rating goes... Twilight was rated PG-13. There is no way they can claim the rest of the movies (that have more kissing, action, violence than Twilight) to be PG. It would be PG-13, I'm nearly positive. And I doubt we'll see that much in the way of s*x and gore. ::kicks MR:: haha Though honestly, I don't think it should be R.. PG-13 is fine with me.

I get all of your points and I agree with you on a lot of them. I think BD should be done using some new style of cinema where they tell the story in narration and show parts of the story in some type of collage... I don't really know what I'm saying.. but traditional movie making i don't think is ideal. There is too much going on in BD to tell the complete story unless they do it in two films which I think would be nearly impossible.

K, I'm 14, and I want the sex scenes, not FADE TO BLACK, I want the birthing scene!! I want the blood and gore!! It's what makes Breaking Dawn what it is!! If they water it down, I'm gonna be so pissed off. If parents are 'concerned' about those scenes, then DON'T LET THE KIDS GO SEE IT. It's as simple as that!! And I'm with you TwiTard. And they need to get rid of Melissa. She completely screwed Twilight. And Chris would be effing awesome for Breaking Dawn!!

unfortunately Melissa is on board for all four. she's already done new moon and eclipse and mentioned a few months ago that they (she and summit) were in talks for BD. she is THE script writer for this franchise. many people have said it before, there is only so much from a book that you can fit into 2 hours, plus or minus a few minutes. the job of the script writer is to get the essence of the book onto screen, even if it means rearranging or changing some things. the movie is "based on" the book, and is it's on entity, not a play-for-play rendition of the book on screen. the books are always better! but it's nice to see beautiful people reenacting it on screen.

Great News! Check E! Online again there is a new article on Breaking Dawn and it has officially been given the go sign by Summit. They don't have any dates yet because they want to make sure the whole cast is on board.

well i think that Breaking Dawn shouldn't be so PG, but PG13-ish sounds ok. i mean the honeymoon scenes don't go into too much detail in the book, so just follow it!!! as for the birth............. they should just show Jacob's reaction while Edward gets the baby out and all that stuff but you can't just ignore it or skip it! it is necessary for the movie to work!

obviously they can show edward bite into her, but all i'm saying is it wont be the end of the world if blood isn't shooting out of all sides of bella. they can show shots of edward biting and rosalie trying to cut into her and still show jacobs expression and him throwing rosalie, and bellas face as he trys pumping her heart while edward bites her skin and stuff.(def. a run-on haha sorry )

exactly, that's what i mean. i don't want it to be a crappy, bloody, gory scene that people are like "that totally sucks" they can start with edward starting off but there's no need to go into such graphic detail, i mean, imagine how weird it would be to act out eating at her to get the baby. i would rather it be a little edited than see the actors feeling awkward and do a bad job.

The book really wasn't that explicit. There is no nudity (maybe some bare backs in the film, as Bella walks into the sea on Isle Esme, to imply nudity) but the 'sex scenes' will doubtless be close up head shots of passionate kissing.

The feathers and broken headboard are fine as little kids won't understand how they got there, and as for the bruises well I would understand if they just cut that. Its not essential.

The birth scene is kinda sraight forward too. Maybe they just make Bella bleed from 'down there' rather than vomit blood, then the birth itself will focus on the confusion, the expressions of Jacobs dispair, Edwards determination, Bella's pain. Think about the scene in Twilight when Bella is bitten, all sort of out of focus and hazy with flashes of action.

I really don't get all the fuss, it should be a PG-13 (12A in the UK = under 12's must be with an adult). Which 10 year olds are reading this anyway? This series was never for children, you need to be old enough to realise Edward isn't a real person so as not to make your expectations of men too high for reality :)

I completly agree. I really feel like some people are wanting to see "fanfiction" brought to screen and that's just not what the book is about. The book is not rated R so the movie shouldn't be either.

the movie will be made I don't think they would go through the trouble of filming New Moon and Eclipse so close together to have the story end thier....as with everythng else, the internet if full of B. You guys, Chris did not write the screen play for new moon. Melissa has done all three and is working on BD (she hinted at it a couple months ago). We haven't even seen what David Slade will come up with for Eclipse. In fact, we really haven't seen what Chris Weitz has done, just snippets that Summit was willing to relinquish in trailers and teasers... who knows who will be best.

If there's anyone to hate on it should be Summit for being so iron-fisted and money-hungry

Oh.. we know.. Melissa *gag* wrote the screenplay and CW directed..
We can surmise based on the clips that Chris has done a better job.

I think the issue with the directing is this: Chris has shown his sensitivity and passion for the books in his interviews (especially his letter and his EW interview) while David Slade has repeatedly dismissed the books and only under duress recanted his opinion of the books and movie.

We ALL know that Summit is money hungry and short sighted...

i agree the gore,sex and fighting is what makes the book great why change something that is already working, breaking dawn was not directed for teens so why should the movie?

and if people have already read the book and loved it they should expect for the movie to carry the same story line. it's not like anyone will be shocked at the story. and come on people we can handle it!

They're not doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. This is their cash cow, its making them millions. Not just the movies, think of all that silly stuff you can buy, the dolls, the make-up, the jewellery, the clothes, the party paper plates. The list goes on and on. They need to be reminded who their audiance is and what they want (although I'm pretty sure they must have hired a team of people to scour the net to monitor sites just like this one). I agree its great to get these movies made and to be able to see them and most of us will go see all the films regardless but we need to stay on their case to make sure they deliver the best 'product' possible - thats Capitalism baby!

Well not all of the fans are in the PG range... they need to realize that there are plenty of adults that would love to see a R rating.... maybe even a PG 13....

I wish they would make Breaking Dawn rated R.

They say that most of the fans are in the PG rating range, but think about it, that may be true now, but the third one won't be out until 2010 so at the earliest the fourth would be out in 2011 or maybe even 2012 so all those fans are going to be at least 2 years older so they more than likely will have graduated to higher rated movies too....granted, the entire saga still has people just now discovering how great it is, but the people who first read the books are probably going to be outside that PG rating age group...don't you think?

that said, they can't not make BD! I will say I was a little disappointed by the non-fight scene that was built up and nothing really happened, I do believe that to make BD into a movie and for it to be successful they would have to have the fight scene (I hope not because that would change the whole dynamic), but I think from the studio's point of view, they will feel like they won't get as many supporters if there's no fight scene.

sarabrowning----I'd like for someone to answer that for me,too. I've asked that so many times. If you let a kid read it,they form pictures in their heads, so you have no right to mess it up for everyone else. These books are not dirty at all,so how can the movie be dirty. Like I've said before-it's not a comic book or Alice in Wonderland,so the parent is responsible for what they let their kids read. If they read Breaking Dawn or New Moon, that should be what they see on the screen. There should be a rating of DO (if in doubt-take em out.)Let the rest of us alone. LOL

Of course I want to see Breaking Dawn, I just don't want to see it slapped with a PG rating, that is my big issue, I want as much as they can squeaze out of the book, namely more adult orientented scenes that could be toned down to PG-13, since they have to go that route. If that calls for two movies, then make some stuff up and add it in there, Breaking Dawn is the book I hope they deviate from a little bit, so if they have to take some things out and replace things...as long as its not key things then fine.

Yes it was a bit of a let down for me. I mean Stephenie built such a great tension before that scene. Alice going away, Bella getting fake documents, planning to safe Nessie without telling Edward, all of this uncertainty and fear and finally the Volturi come and.... basically walk away.

I was relieved none of the main characters got killed (like it was in Potter books) but still, this ending was a bit far fetched, I mean the series needed a happy ending but that one was just too... easy.

I think that they can tone down the eww factor by showing the other wolves that have imprinted with their mates in a Non Sexual way like Quil (was it Quil or Embry) playing on the beach. Really everything about Nessie makes her created for Jacob. Skin temps, food preferences, longevity etc. I want them to do it like it is in the book.

Yes, doing it exactly like the book is really the only way to make imprinting not more than a little bit perverted. I think they need to really play up the imprinting on Emily away from Leah in NM and Eclipse, and demonstrate Quil and Claire in a good light. I think they also need to do some kind of special effect for the moment of imprinting as well to demonstrate the metaphysical link.

I think that they should be able to come up with something that shows a "shift" in perception by the wolves when they meet their mate. They just really steer clear of anything sexual like what the pack has to put up with with Jared and Kim.

They have to make Breaking Dawn!!!! And as for graphic scenes, what are they talking about? There is none! Well, maybe except the birth scene... Anyway I really want to see Breaking Dawn, it was my favourite book and as for people that stop caring... AS IF!!!! We all want to see it, I know there's no way I would miss it!!!!

Hoping they'll do the right thing and make it. It IS possible to shoot scenes where things are implied but not shown. Even Stephenie did that with the sex scene in BD. She did not right anything explicit, but what she did write was implicit - you knew exactly what was going on without and x-rated details. This can totally be pulled off on-screen, too. Wonder who they'll get to direct it...?

Ok, now that that is over with. I think that they are going to make BD into a movie. They are just trying to get all aspects down to the right detail right now so that when it does come out they can let us know whether it will be made into two movies or one long one and the rating and all that stuff. I am not worried. We all know they will make it into a 4th. They are just trying to figure out the best way to get it there. Rob is already SIGNED on to do it, so he would not be signed on if there was nothing to sign him on for. He said it in an interview at one of the recent movie awards....I can't remember the name of the ceremony but it was the one when he presented the award with the girl that was in Mama Mia. Now; I'm not saying to go "all porno" or anything like that.....But you can deliver Isle Esme with some class, style and a touch of sensuality!!!.....Kids are watching movies now-a-days that are just RAUNCHY!!!......Flat out wrong!!! I completely agree! You took the words right out of my mouth. A PG13 rating would fit just fine, I guarantee they will still make just as much money on BD if not more... Because that's what they are really worried about. But if they change a bunch of things they are insulting the fans and Stephenie Meyer. Melissa needs to pull her head out of her butt and get over it.

They HAVE to show the lovemaking scenes and Renesme, She would ruin the entire movie if they didn't. And KStew especially fights really hard for it to be just as Stephenie Meyer intended it to be, or else she wont say the line or do the scene (from what I've heard) so I can't see her and the rest of the cast going along with it if Ms.Rosenburg tries to butcher it all and change it up and leave things out.

I saw 12 and 13 year olds in the movie theater watching The Hangover... which is R rated and completely raunchy (hilarious though) but come on! If they can go see stuff like that and watch the shows they watch, then they can watch Breaking Dawn. This is the year 2009... kids already know all about this stuff and have probably seen it before... not to mention if they have read the book then yeah they really know about the birds and the bees now. So deal with it Summit. And I hope the cast and Stephenie Meyer fight tooth and nail to keep it true to the book. I know the fans will, lets just hope they listen.

Toning down the book to just wrong and takes away from what Stephenie wrote. Melissa Rosenberg doesn't want to see a lot of violence and gore? Then get a new writer. You can replace a writer easier than you can 40 million fans.

And excuse me - those who've read Breaking Dawn - have already been through the gore and sex with Edward and Bella!!!!!!!!! And I seriously wanna know how Edward doesn't end up killing her their 'first' time (cause all they do in my book is go out into the ocean / and then she wakes up) - and Jake and him fighting to keep her alive with the baby and the biting - come on! It's not like Melissa would be adding anything we haven't already read (that includes the 14 year olds).

Melissa's not into violence??? What??? Isn't there a big newborn take down in Eclipse? And i hear a vampire loses a head in New Moon, just like James lost his in Twilight...and Edward got flung against a window (that wasn't in Twilight).

It's not Melissa... She's doing what Summit tells her to do. I'm sure she would prefer to keep it as original as possible, but Summit will likely make her vary from that. She doesn't just write the script and they go from there, she has to get it approved by Summit and I'm sure it goes through multiple efforts. If anyone is to blame it's Summit, don't make Melissa a scapegoat.

I don't agree that it's Summit, Melissa has stated in interviews and articles that SHE doesn't want to see that stuff...even if Summit and Stephenie add things on. (Like she wants to change SM's story) That's the part I'm talking about, how she wants it rated-PG. Although I'm pretty sure we're going to end up with a PG-13 film. And I'll still go see it, and love it. Because PG-13 will be a happy medium for everyone.

You have the means, hopefully the brains (the right director/producer/screenwriter?), and legions of fans to make this franchise memorable~!

I think it is safe to say that I would not let my child read BD if I would not let them see a pg-13 movie. Even with that being said... If a reader is of "pg age" now... when BD does come to us as a movie, they will surely be able to see a pg-13 movie.

I've read the book several times and I really don't see anything "hard core" in it. Old movies were always made with "suggestions" as to what was really happening and you always got the general jist to what was happening without seeing it. I don't think Stephanie wrote anything hard core in the Twilight series. The evening news is more hard core then her books. Maybe Summit is trying to see how much they can get away with, without getting that R rating and still getting everyone to see come and see it.

Did you scene the note book? Remember that sex scene between Noah and Alli, well it was really sensual and the movie was still rated PG 13. You can go pretty far with a PG 13 rating.

It isn't more "hard core" than any other movie in this genre... LOTR and HP were sometimes very creepy... and HP is a book for children... There don't have to be any bowel or fountains of blood... i don't understand MR minds...

Might be right about waiting to officially announce it. But come on, for Summit to say that they have to dull it down b/c their fans are in the PG range is ridicilous. I mean, yeah ok, there are kids reading the books, but if the parents are letting them, then the movie should portray the book.....no reducing or removing of key scenes, just so they can get a PG rating. There are just as many adults out there that read the books as there is a younger crowd and we all seemed to enjoy them the way they were.

And don't forget, a lot of the adults go and see the movies too!

I think it isn't a question about the "if" but the "how"... there is another little problem besides the rating... Renesmee? Her fast aging and so on...

That should undoubtedly be the best movie of the saga (BD is my fave :))...but I still stick by my opinion that it should be rated R....I think fans are mostly 15 and older, and they can handle an R-rated movie. Plus, the next movie will be in four years, so....why not? Anyone else agree?

Sry that was a mistake...I actually should've said 2 years....it would've been 4 yrs after Twilight 1st came out.....but my point is that most of ther fans were like 14 or 15 when the 1st movie came out and the rest are adults so by the time BD comes out if its R-rated, we'll be old enough to see it.

I certainly hope the integrity of "Breaking Dawn" remains intact. Without the violence and mature aspects of the book, the story ceases to be. That is the entire point of the book, in my opinion. It illustrates just how far Bella and Edward have come in their relationship and how much they have matured. Additionally, the violence adds the sense of desparation, of limited time, that we have come to associate with "Breaking Dawn," as well as the entire series. Without it, the story is not nearly as powerful as Meyer wrote it.

Yep there was something missing, so much fear, so much preparation, Alice going away, Bella getting the fake documents behind Edward's back... Finally the Volturi come, the hell is about to open, you can feel death in the air and what? basically they walk away empty-handed...

I feel like I may be the only one out there who is a huge fan of the first three and found BD to be pretty much a horrible ending to the series. I've read better fanfic than that book. So as much as I would LOVE to see everyone back together for a 4th movie it wouldn't necessarily break my heart...the ONLY redeeming thing about that book is being in Jacob's head. The rest is just fluff.

I was waiting for the Volturi to be destroyed...and then all of the sudden, everyone just walked away. But that's how SM saw it, so it's okay...and then all of the sudden the series just ended...wahhhhh!!!!

And Jacob and Seth were hilarious during his section, laughed out loud at "Alright, now I feel stupid" (Seth) "You sound stupid" (Jacob) lolololol

Yes, there were some funny bits in Jacob's head. God I love him. He's a wolf a lot, how would that even come across well, and not like some animated kids movie? Ugh.

I hope the people responsible will understand that as the series has passed, the fans have aged (granted there are always new fans) but the girls (who they may be concerned about) who loved Twilight will be a few years older too. Smack a PG-13 on it and call it a day.

first time i have wanted to comment ...... okay we need breaking dawn to be as close to the book as it can be!!!!! how could they even think abt leaving out the honeymoon nor the birth of renesmee?? those are to very important parts that need to be in the book!!!! the honeymoon omg in the book is prefect so we need to see it the movie!!!! and as for the birth that is where edward and jacob comes together to save bella, and bella being changed over into a vampire!!! those parts have to be in the movie..... come on the younger fans read abt it in the book and stephenie did a great job abt detail in her book!!!!!! yes we want chris weitz to make the breaking dawn movie and we want melissa screenplay out of it! she wantd to change the story to much and leave some of the best parts out!!!!

It all just has to be there. You can't end the Breaking Dawn movie without the moment between Bella and Edward.

twilight the movie is PG-13, so why all of the sudden is that a problem?? breaking dawn should be at least a PG-13 movie, that will give it enough room to have a few non suggestive sex scenes with the sheets covering all the naughty stuff. i dont know that there are many twilight fans under the age of 13 anyways. maybe a lower percentage. but most parents are going to let their kids watch a PG13 movie unless they are trying to shelter their kids. there isn't really tons of fighting in breaking dawn. the worst fight scenes would be in eclipse.. all the fighting in breaking dawn consists of mind powers.. and bella jumping on jacob once. the worst part would probably be the delivery of renesmee...... MAKE BREAKING DAWN, there is no reason not to. it would be a waste.

Im so mad about the whole "toning down" of breaking dawn....if they cut out the sex and pregnancy scenes, the movie just wont live up to the book....it would be a MAJOR let down...i mean i know they are being causious becasue yes, many of teh viewers are preteens etc but look at what you see on tv everyday, also ....are they not aware that a big majority of the fans are also older teens people, people in their 20's and even women in their 30's ??? Lets hope they realize this before they regret it when the fans hate the movie.

if the tone it way down, IT WILL KILL EVERYTHING.... It is the capstone of the series and I think Bella and Edward married is necessary to show, as well as him saving Bella during Renesme's birth.... this is Edward's time to shine, showing strength and courage and making Bella even more part of him...

Just like to point out I was watching Dirty Dancing this weekend. It's PG-13

I saw Patrick Swayze's nekkid hip and a little side butt glimpse. Definitely saw Jennifer Grey without a shirt, granted they don't show her boobs but see some side cleavage when Patrick is on top of her.

So surely they can position Rob and Kristen shirtless. Show Rob's nekkid side hip. Plus Rob is a master at sexual facial expressions.

I'll just repeat what everyone else mentioned. The Notebook is a perfect example of some some steamy PG-13 action.

ok, I do not believe for one second that the fan base for the Twilight series is a PG group. These are written as Young Adult books. A PG-13 movie should not be a big deal at all. Even an R rating wouldn't be the end of the world, but I really think they could keep the story in tact at a PG 13. Even Harry Potter has had PG 13 and that series is a bit more focused on a younger audience than Twilight. Please do not water down Breaking Dawn!

I'm 12 and I want the sex scenes and the birth scene also! I think PG-13 is an acceptable rating. They can't not put some of the sex scene and some of the birth scene. It's so important to the movie! Summit are a bunch of a-holes that should just learn to listen to the fans which are the source of all their money! And I agree that if some younger kids read the book and their parents let them, then they should let them see the movie. And if they're not allowed to see the movie, don't ruin it for everybody else!!

Oh and I don't think they should change the "almost fight scene" too much. They should follow the book and MAYBE add a little more violence. As much as i wanted a fight, that would mean that some of the Cullens would die and just that thought is depressing...

okay.....Kristen summarized her expectations at Comic con perfectly when talking about BD: "I am looking forward to getting pregnant." I am sure she is and so are we so forget about the feathers and show us some nasty!! You can still give us a little bit of raunch even in a pg-13. And I hope now that they are together for real (you know like together together) that the chemistry is even hotter. A lot of people say that will ruin it but I don't think so. They have such an adoration for each other I think that would continue even if they didn't stay 2gether!!

I totally agree with you! I don't want hard-core intimacy but I really don't want them to tone it down so much that all you see is a kiss, Edward takes his shirt off and then fade to black. We need more than that, it's in the book so it's only fair! LOL I think they'll probably have more of a challenge with Bella having the baby - how on earth they'd tone that down without re-writing the whole chapter I don't know - it would ruin it!
