Yeah, I think SM had it set up in New Moon. She wrote the other book as a sequel to Twilight.. and Bella and Edward had a child in it… So perhaps she got the idea from that?

I think Stephenie planned the J/R imprint awhile back – b/c in Eclipse she introduces the Claire/Quill imprint so we are familar with the idea of imprinting on someone very young….I do think the Jacob/Renesmee relationship would make for a good story…..very different than the Edward/Bella story.

Yeah, but the book kind of gives the impression as “I love Renesmee, and I will be with her forever”..Oh well. I just think it was an easy way out for Meyer, and I think she could have done so much more with Jacob and Leah.:(

Yes – I think people need to realize there is deeper love out there than just sexual. Jacob is destined to be the man in Renesmee's life….big brother, friend, boyfriend, husband – when it's what she needs.

in a world today when 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 6 boys receive unwanted sexual attention before they are of age. . Yeah. Imprinting is a touchy subject. . . I just hope they emphasize that it is in no way a sexually driven relationship. They really need to enforce the idea that at the young age it is more about being a friend. . . .

Maybe Stephenie wanted to unite Edward, Bella, Jacob and Renesmee forever. I did like the idea of Jacob taking Renesmee (Vanessa Wolf) if the Volturi killed Bella and Edward. Thought that was rather sweet. I think our generation has been so scared by the idea of pedophiles, that it's hard to imagine the imprinting idea. Maybe they'll express it better on screen..

Yeah, but Jacob said he didn't want to imprint.werewolves can fall in love with someone and care about them without imprinting on them. It just means that any time in their life they could imprint.. but before that.. they would be with the one they love. I think Leah and Jake could have made it.
Yeah, I was glad both Bella AND Edward were mad at Jacob.I would be furious….. “Hey Punchy. You know, your kid sure is great.. I imprinted on her. She's my future wife”…… *me* “What.. the…. **punches werewolf numerous times numerous ways* … lol

I agree! Everything would have kinda fit….but I guess he couldn't imprint on Leah b/c he would have a long time ago if that's how things were supposed to work out. I did like how Bella was so pissed at Jacob for imprinting on!
