X-Men director Brett Ratner has his eye on New Moon superstar Robert Pattinson for his new superhero film Youngblood–
Forget about Team Edward. If “X-Men: The Last Stand” director Brett Ratner has his way, “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson will be joining Team “Youngblood.”
“Definitely [Robert Pattinson] from ‘Twilight,’ ” Ratner told MTV News when asked if he had any actors in mind for his upcoming film based on a comic book series about a government-sanctioned team of superheroes. “He just feels like he belongs in that world.”
“I don’t only see him as a vampire,” explained Ratner. “He’s a really good actor.”
“[Pattinson] could do anything,” said Ratner. “He just has that look. … I picture him on Youngblood, for sure.”

Is Rob the Next Brad? Well, he could be as long as he makes the right movie role choices. He already has the same attention on his love life.
Although we love Rob being the hero, I don't think he will do this role. He wants to get back to his roots once all the Twilight Saga movies are done. He is more of an indie movie person, and he has said so. After the Twilight movies he has said he wants to go back to London and visit family and figure out what to do next. I am pretty sure he won't do this film cuz he wants to get away from the supernatural type stuff for a bit. If Rob was offered the role, I don't think he'll take it. Rob doesn't seem to be the type of actor that would play the same type of character twice. He likes to explore his options. Also, I have a feeling that Rob feels trapped in this vampire world. He's probably going to try to break free from it because he doesn't want to be labeled, “The guy from Twilight” forever.
I never would have seen Rob in the role of superhero. I really don't even think he would accept the part if offered. I would be surprised anyway. Too mainstream I think.

This sounds like a very different role from the one in Twilight. I don't really see the similarity. I don't know if his agent would recommend this role for him, however, because it seems kind of mainstream and the looks like it would be targeted more towards a teen audience.
I'm in favor with the Dune part, too. I definately think Rob should look into that role. Very interesting characters in Dune. And it is it's own special world. Great science fiction!

I thought it was interesting how his rep gave that rebuttal. Did you read it? He said that he was only going to comment on Rob's professional life. Then he said that Rob had not done an interview with that paper in the recent past. He could have laid all the rumors to rest by saying as a fact that Rob was single or that Rob and Kristen were friends and the pictures from the concert were misinterpreted–he did neither.
The inference I get from this is that Rob, Kristen, Summit and whoever else cares wants us to know Rob didn't do the interview, isn't without female companionship, and Kristen may be THE one.

You know you're a good seller if random directors name drop you. Now Rob's name will always be attached to that movie, and when they cast someone else for that role they'll say this role was turned down by Robert Pattinson haha.
Me too. I really hope that's why he went to see Peter Berg. Although I see Berg has two projects and one of them is Dune, I guess the filming will start next year…I just don't know if Rob has the time. Maybe after Breaking Dawn. It would be cool if they film that in spring, summer so Rob would be free for Dune afterwards.

I don't think Rob will be playing anymore teenagers! In the past year he has really grown up. Las year he could pass as a teenager, now he has grown up.
I don' think it matters for playing Edward–he's timeless; he should be wise beyond his years, a little melancoly. He's suppose to be young in Unbound Captives, too, but that character is suppose to have lived through a lot, also, so he may be able to pull that one off okay, too.
I think his future roles will show more maturity, grow with him.

Um C-911 you are talking to someone who is a big fan of the super hero genre, Robert Downey Jr. Did he ever struck you like the super hero type? or Michael Keaton? to alot of geeks, he was the best Batman, better than Christian Bale. See if one is a fan of Robert Pattinson, we will embrace any project he does, as long as it's a good storyline, can you imagine anyone else as Wolverine? So lets not turns down our noses at Superhero franchise.
I agree with you on a couple of points. Yes, Michael Keaton was the best Batman by far. And I will support Rob in whatever he does, no matter what.
But if you think back to the times that Michael and Robert D. did those roles, they were established actors with some cred AND the superhero movie wasn't what it is today.
Now, it's that go-to movie for actors to make a big name for themselves instead of doing something outside the box and edgy.
I just think that Rob needs to do something not so mainstream. You cannot get more mainstream than Twilight right now. He needs to go off the map a bit.
