That's the PERFECT place to split it! Such a cliffhanger and a natural shift, because before that is a lot of Edward/Bella relationship stuff: wedding, Isle Emse, the pregnancy. After is more action oriented: Bella as a newborn and her hunting and all of that, and of course all the Volturi stuff and getting ready for the "battle."

I think this book will be a treat for the special effects department, forget Nessie, just use a real baby, now we have Bella's shield, we have the Earth Mover, we have Kate the vampire taser, we have the two amazon vampires, one who makes visions of beautiful and terrifying pictures. We can see the Cullens track down the witness, we can see Irnia going to the Volturi, or Volturi disccussing her spying on them. We can see beyond what Bella and Jacob see. We can see the Council of elders tell Sam, it is a bad idea to attack the Cullens, especially Bella. On and On.

Yes! I would love to see so many of the things you've described. That's why I so hope BD is two movies, there's so many more things we could see that are outside of what Jake and Bella see. These could be such rich, visually interesting and dynamic movies! I hope they don't cut any of the other vampires that come to "witness," they all have such cool stories and personalities.

they should end it when jacob is walking and in shock and crap cause he thinks bellas dead nd then he sees renesmee and then you hear bellas last heart beat and then it goes black. that would be awesome lol

Thinking about it ending this way gave me goosebumps. In a good way of course.

What if they had like the slow motion of flashes between Jacob walking away and Bella laying down with Edward working on her and the heartbeat in the background getting slower and slower like in tempo with the flashes back and forth and as soon as Jacob sees Renesmee and hears Bella's last heartbeat then the screen goes black and Edward says "Bella?" and then a flash of Bella waking with blood red eyes and bam! end of movie =] I think that would be great!!!

I lie your idea, but to stick to the book it took 3 days of excrutiating pain before she woke up as a Vamp. It wouldn't have happened within minutes of her heart stopping.

Well i know it wouldn't stick to the book but in my opinion I really don't see them actually portraying the 3 days of pain in the movie. But in that case... to add on to the idea (that I compiled from everyone else's amazing ideas of where to end the movie) they could in the beginning of the second movie actually show the time lapse and Bella waking up... like at the end of the first movie only show Bella's face waking up as a vampire (a cliffhanger). And the second movie would begin with her thoughts of excruciating pain and maybe glimpses of the last few things she saw before her transformation and then waking up with everyone in the room and her finding out that it had been three days (I think Alice tells her? I'm not sure I'm a lil rusty cuz my friends borrowed my books or i would look it up) That way the first movie would end on a cliffhanger and the second movie would begin with the introduction of how much pain she was in and how long it actually took. I hope I'm explaining the image I have in my head well enough. who knows anyways lol

It did cross my mind that it was possible she didn't know how to write the most important part of MS, but than I thought 'she is Stephenie Meyer' and an amazing writer. She could write it all from Edward's pov and it would all be awesome!

She might be scared of all the pressure and wants fans to like it. Maybe because of all the bad comments she got about BD she feels a lot of pressure. I know everyone is going to love MS. Everyone who already read the first 12 chapters thinks it's the best and wants more. I mean we already know what's going to happen and how it's going to end, we just want to know what that wonderful Edward Cullen, (and everyone else's mind he can hear) is thinking.

I'm thinking she just has too many things going on now and she just wants to work on other things not related to Twilight. Which is why I'm a bit perturbed with her.

When i first read MS i thought i was going to die if i didn't know Edward's point of view for the entire saga. Thankfully my obsession became slightly healthier over time so instead of death i'm just very upset lol

i actually don't know why BD got so much hate. Except for the fact that i felt cheated out of a real honeymoon, i liked it

don't shoot me, but i actually don't think that she's an amazing writer. I LOVE the saga don't get me wrong, the women created a really good story but i wasn't really won over by the quality of writing which is why i think that she didn't know how to write MS. Regardless, i want her to finish it soooo badly!!!!

I really liked BD, though I really wished they would have killed all the Volturi at the end.

What is the big deal with making it into two movies.

The first film: nothing but Edward and Bella having sex the ENTIRE time. Translation: Rob naked the ENTIRE time.

The second film: Everything else.

Did anyone find the reveal about Charlie and his thoughts in Midnight Sun to be a tease? I mean... okay... where is she going with that? Is he special, too, since Edward can only *partially* read his thoughts? Felt sort of cheated.

She did that a couple times in Eclipse.. like when Jake, Bella, and Edward were in the tent and Jake and Edward were talking. Jake said he had a plan for him and Bella.. and Edward agreed it was a good plan. That was it. WTF was it??

AND the whole Embry being related to either Quil, Jake, or Sam 'cause his mom got it on with one of their fathers. Well, WTF was it??

I'm totally on board for Chris coming back to do at least one more. It's weird I have that confidence in him when we haven't even had a chance to see New Moon but between the trailers and all of his interviews he just seems to totally "get it".

This is true. We haven't even seen the movie and yet we are all pulling and rooting for him for Breaking Dawn. For all we know (which i highly doubt it) the trailers could be fooling us into thinking that New Moon will be gr8! LOL
But i know they aren't a lie I know the movie will be better than gr8 it will be (is epic the right word? I've never used that word before haha). I'm just so glad they chose him for New Moon. Totally think CW should take on the role as director for BD. I really think it's something he would consider, and I think he is honestly shocked by the amount of support he has received for NM without people even having seen it. I think it's that what we have seen has shown us the passion and romance that lacked in Twilight, and he has been able to capture that so well!

I think the only people not wanting to make this into two films are the actors. I'm sure that Rob and Kristen are wanting to move on and do something else with their careers. Can't say I blame them.

But putting that part aside, why not make it into two films? SM, Summit and the actors make more money, the fans get another Twilight film and we can have a longer, more intimate honeymoon.

Exactly! And I want that whole lovely book translated to film, nothing left out!!! There's WAY too much content for just 1 movie, the book itself felt chock full of stuff, I can't imagine what would get cut if they distill it down into just 1 film.

Book 1 and Book 2 can be easily be made into one movie, but Book 3 which in Bella's pov there a whole lot going on. Don't you remember that Bella needed to practice expanding her shield? and It would be nice to see the Cullens track down their friends. Kinda like a mini-adventure.

I think that a large portion of Breaking Dawn is inner dialogue that when translated visually will take much less screen time than it did in the time we spent reading about it.

So much of it was "in their heads". It is very true that "A picture is worth a thousand words", especially in Stephenie Meyers books.

I agree with you breesmom...a lot of it is inner dialogue, but it can be easily shown on film a lot faster than we read it in a book.

I don't know if this makes me a bad fan but I think one movie is enough. Breaking Dawn isn't like Deathly hallows, it's not that complex...it has a lot of parts that are too slow.

err I disagree,there's not much ground to cover to make it two movies,half the book is about nothing really, the whole pregnancy part should be cut short, not much happens there,as well as the whole preparation for the fight,introduction of all those vampires many of whom ended up being totally unnecessary and insignificant. HP7 is split into two movies, but it's action packed, unlike BD. They can totally make BD into one movie. The first part lasting about an hour,the second- 30-40 mins, the third-another hour.

Deathly Hallows, as with all of JK's books contains an order of logic that BD simply does not. Every single scene in all of those books means something.

This is absolutely not the case in all four of Meyer's books in which one scene is repeated with a similar theme, similar information, similar development in character. BD is chock full of this ish. Ex: why introduce the shady travel agent guy, the black dude that leads Bella to the shady travel agent guy, Carlisle's friends, the Irish vamps, etc. etc. if they lead to utterly nothing? All that should be cut out or reduced to five minutes tops in the film.

If it's two movies, it'll be done for $ and no other reason.

the shady lawyer and his black friend are the reason the Cullens can get around places without getting suspicious and is where Bella needs to go so Nessie and Jake could run when her and Edward "die" So every part of Breaking Dawn is important.

Oh, I'm not saying this needs to be deleted entirely. But they don't need to be as drawn out as Stephenie makes it in the book. It could easily be a three to five minute montage of sorts in the film.

The discussions they have with their allies should be shortened too, IMO.

it may not be hp action..but theres important part of BD that ppl have to see.. the wedding.. jake @ the wedding umm the honey moon..her getting preger, her slowing dying from being preggers...theres soo much in the book that has to be seen

the only problem is keeping the movie under the like 2 hour movie mark; no one is going to want to sit in a movie theater for 4 hours- altho I would just see the entire thing. But directors and screenwriters learn that they have to keep things moving along instead of wasting film rolls on a 30 minute dialouge scene. I know it angers me too- they better not ruin the last HP :)

i would love two movies. i have said this for a long time that it should be made in two movies. but i don't think there should be a long break in between them. HP 7 1 and 2 there is going to be about 6 month break in between them. i can't wait 6 long trust me i can't wait even 6 weeks for new episodes of my fave shows.

I really think it should stay as one movie because fans don't wanna have to wait an additional year or so for another part of the same book. There are so many scenes that should (emphasizing should here) be cut out of BD. It could easily be one film, albeit a lengthy one.

It could be one movie or two movies. A lot of things can be cut out, but a lot of things can also be left in. It's the Summit's decision. And there's no point arguing with Summit because no one up there is going to listen to what we want. So all we can do is accept what they throw at us. I've already been through a lot with them replacing Rachelle.

I didn't enjoy BD as much as the other three; that's why I'd rather not see two films of it. Honestly, if they were going to spread any of the four books to two films, I'd want it to be Eclipse, which I know won't happen.

It's just that after Eclipse, the book stalls. I guess it's because I never found the Volturi to be that much of a threat. So when they became the main antagonists in BD, it always seemed to me like there would be a way to reason with them. That there wouldn't even be a major battle. The Cullens would win easily.

Victoria was the real scary broad. Once Edward sliced her head off, although I enjoyed the honeymoon and the scenes where Bella wakes up as a vampire, the series was done for me.

Yo, I think she wrote that scene in its entirety from like Jacob's perspective then from Edward's then whittled it down to Bella's. There's a lot missing in that scene. I think she held out on us.

Besides the "Leg-Hitch" scene, which will most likely be combined with the proposal scene and the final battle, this has to be shot in its entirety. No changing lines, "It's him. It's always him" crap (even though that is brills, Melissa LOL).

U know with everyone talking about SM finishing Midnight Sun... I mean yeah it would be nice, but we already know the ending to that story! Why not write more? I mean, there are still potential problems out there. The Volturi arent going to take that show of force without some kind of revenge. And I know that all the Team Jacob fans out there feel alittle cheated with the whole Renesme thing. Jacob finally is happy and we only see it for about a hundred pages. He wasnt even romantically happy!!. thats what the next book should be about. About Renesme and Jacob, from Renesme's pont of view. Still, finishing MS would be kinda nice.

SM did say she was going to continue to write stories about the Cullen but the story of Edward and Bella is pretty much over, but wasn't she suppose to be publishing the sequel to the Host and she was working on another project? what happened to those?

If SM thinks BD should be 2 movies, Summit should really listen to her. After all with her writing the books we wouldn't be here. They owe her that much.

I think it needs to be 2 movies if they are going to portray the books accurately. Most of us know the books intimately but not more than the AUTHOR. Summitt need to listen SM and the fans. Sure Summitt probably aren't going to committ to anything until the Box Office figures come in from New Moon but if the actors are willing and available then why not make it 5 instead of four movies. From a business point of view, Summitt will continue to make money, SM will get a cut, the cast and crew will continue to rake in the $$ and the fans will get what they want, an ACCURATE PORTRAYAL OF BD with no short cuts. Summitt you must have marketing people monitoring these forums. Listen to SM and the fans, take the risk and DO IT RIGHT. Split BD into 2 movies!!!!!!

Just as in the past, Melissa's approaching this with an objective view. The first movie should open with wolf Jacob in Canada and his voice over than all the craziness with the wedding in Forks, Bella's guilt over her missing best man, grumpy Charlie, giddy Renee. Than the wedding, than the honeymoon, after Bella learn that she is pregnant, and she decides to call Rosalie, it should switch back to Jacob watching television with Paul. Than again we can see Charlie call Billy about Bella. When Jake sees what has happened to Bella, the decision to attack the Cullens, that is going to be tense. Jake embracing his destiny as the true Alpha, Leah and Seth joining him. Leah and Jake bonding, Edward burning man, and finally Reneseme's birth. That together would be two hours or more. That should cover the first movie, with ofcoarse the beating of Bella's heart.

Second Movie. We Open with a bit of a flashback what happened to the Denali and the taboo of the immortal children, than we head back to the tick tock of the clock, and Bella's transformation. One thing I do request Edward/Nessie bonding.

Well, if they want to make two films, i aint gonna complain... all the more rob ;)

See...Summit is probably only going to make it one not-so-good movie. I mean, let's look at their reaction to everything else that we (the fans) and they (summit) differed on. It's not a good track record on our side. I hope, hope that they listen to Stephenie or don't make it a movie at all. I came to the conclusion a while back that I would rather preserve the book that make it into a terrible movie. But, time will tell. Summit thinks that they'll loose the fan base if they pause to make two movies. Let me assure you, I don't think that's going to be the case...

One 2.5 hour film. The first 2/3s don't need to be longer than an hour.

-Nothing really happens before Edward and Bella get married- 10-15 minutes, including the wedding.
-Even though I love it too, the honeymoon can be 10-12 minutes tops.
-The pregnancy could be 30-45 minutes, including the delivery, which should be 3-5 minutes.

First hour done.

-Bella's initial experiences as a vampire would be another 30 minutes. This includes: the hunt, being in awe of Reneesme, seeing Charlie, Bella finding out about the imprint. It doesn't take that long to do any of this stuff.
-The final 30-45 minutes would be Irina founding out about Reneesme, Alice leaving, Bella going out for the final passport, all the other vamps coming, and the final battle.
-The final battle shouldn't be longer than 5-8 minutes. Especially since it's not a battle.

Final 1.5 hour done.

BD done.

I can't wait to see Fire & Ice baby!!!!

Stephenie knows what's best for her books! I hope they bring back Catherine Hardwicke for the first half of Breaking Dawn because it's so romantic — the wedding, the honeymoon, the birth, which is gruesome but amazing. The second film could be Bella's transformation, and the fight with the Volturri's. It would definitely be a cliff-hanger to cut off the first story just when Bella transforms. I'd sure want to see a second film! But then, I'm a Twi fan big time.
