I totally agree with the tweeking. They can get away with not showing much on their honeymoon, but the birting scene and hunting scenes are the most pivotal and should be shown pretty much in their entireity. You can't just not show how much Edward is fighting to keep Bella alive that is just pure wrong.

i know, i didnt enjoy eclipse as much u know the camping scene.. sorry to all the jacob fan but i was pretty pissed when jacob kissed her bc i felt like wth is going on in eclipse. lol. but then i do love the ending of it.. bc then it led to BD and i love BD. i literally read it ten times and everytime was new to me. i love love love it!!! my favorite part is when she tells edward about the "rancid" chicken and then realizes she is pregnant .... awwhhhh or when edward heard reneesmees thoughts! beautiful. but yeah jsut two movies bc not that much action goes into BD. it was just all so loving.

I loved Eclipse but I have to admit that NM was my favorite because I went through a messy divorce and I can relate quite a bit with this particular book. I do love the growing triangular relationship between Jake, Edward, and Bella.

I really liked Jacob b4 he turned into a werewolf in NM and became arrogant and angry.
Loved the Jacob's book prologue quote too and all the others you mention!
I HATED that there was a whole book written from Jacob's POV,b4 I read it,but when I did it I really liked it!
It was funny and I LOVED it when Jacob stood up to Sam!
But why there was no Edward POV in the Saga?
That's what bothers me most.
Jacob got also Eclipse's epilogue.
It's not fair...

It's difficult for me to say which book is my favorite. Although New Moon pretty much ripped my heart out, I feel like it was the most important book of the series. If Edward never left Bella, you would never really feel how much they loved each other. I think everyone wanted to walk in the woods and curl up in a ball when Edward left. So, although it was a stressful read - I think it was the most powerful. Nothing can top when they reunite in the end! I probably read that book the quickest, because I'm like "we need to save Edward!!! ahhh!"
 
BD - I'm not that disappointed in the lack of description of Edward and Bella's sex scenes. I think fans would have fainted. I know just their kissing scenes were almost too much for me to handle. :) Stephenie could have went a little bit further with the sex though....I feel like we almost got more in Eclipse......leg hitch, shirts off......

The backstories were needed,but the book as a whole,it felt a little incoherent,scattered,if you get what I mean.

Like a combination of stories and not an Edward-Bella story,like it started to be in Twi and should have been still...

And yeah,the kissing descriptions...

But then I read WA and these are nothing to me anymore!LOL

I agree about Eclipse seeming scattered. I have a hard time remembering what happened in Eclipse because it seemed all over the place at times. And how many times did Edward have to ask Bella to marry him? All that I'm saying is, he'd only have to ask me once. :)
 
I don't know if I could pick a fav out of the books. New Moon was probably the strongest/powerful book. I probably cried the most in it. Eclipse got on my nerves a bit with the love triangle too. I wanted to smack Bella.......I was like you've got Edward again and you're just getting greedy now. You can't have them both!!!!

this is one instance where I think they can speed it up. Like we know it was months or about a month from the Honeymoon to the birth, but they can push days together in the movie so it doesn't drag on. And then give us more of other things like wedding, honeymoons, the days Edward waits for Bella to wake up in all her Vamp glory, time with the fam before the Volturu threat happens, etc.
So maybe Catherine should come back and do BD since she's so great at speeding up the timeline of a movie *ducking my head under my desk to avoid flying objects*

I don't think it was bad and I'm not just saying that because I'm a wolf girl. It showed in depth how he was feeling. He cared about Bella and was caught in the middle between a rock and a hard place between the pack and his love for Bella.

I remember when the Jacob book started I almost had a panic attack - I started flipping through to make sure Bella's narration would resume at some point. Hello? We live to see Edward through Bella's eyes. How many pages did we go through without a hot Edward/Bella kiss?? I guess that's why we got a wedding/Isle Esme before Jacob took over the story. Jacob Book = not hot. lol. But I get it, you got to see how much Jacob cared for Bella and how much it hurt him to see her dying. And forget the tent scene, this portion showed a lot of the Edward/Jacob relationship.

How funny! I almost jumped up and down when I saw that there was a whole book full of Jacob's POV. Needless to say tears were shed during his heartache. I flipped through to see if there was more from his POV after that one ended, but sadly...no.

I'm with you TSH, why are these girls always negating Jacobs parts in the books? SM would not have put him there if he wasn't important. And Jacob is the heartbeat of NM, the human reaction to what is happening to Bella. Having said all that I still think that it should be 2 - two and a half hour movies not 3.

During the reading though, I was uneasy about the wolves.......you never knew if they were gonna have a brawl or if Jake was gonna try to make out with Bella again. lol

The Jacob part of the book wasnt that bad....plus its sets up a lot for the ending of BD and also deals with a lot of the issues that were brought up in New Moon and Eclipse in regards to the wolf pack. They shouldnt cut it out all together...that would be like cutting out Jacob (god forbid!!). What they should do is just phase his story more in between that of Bella, Edward and Renesmee.

I also dont think extending the movie beyond 2 parts is necessary. Part 1 could cover the wedding and pregnancy and part 2 could cover her transformation and the fight scene. There wouldnt be natural starts for parts 2 and 3 if they broke it up into 3. And I love the cliff hanger idea

I don't see what's so wrong about a three hour movie. I would sit through it if they made it right. Look what 3 hours did for Titanic!!! Didn't hurt that movie at all. If the film Funny People can be 2.5 hours, Breaking Dawn can definitely be 3+hours! Movies are pretty long these days. Twilight fans will NEVER complain about one of the films being too long, that's for sure :)

absolutely. two would be fine. i think the first one needs to stop with jacob's first look at nessie and her heartbeat stopping. and the next movie pick up with her opening her eyes to her new reality and everything that's been going on during her change.

I agree totally. Three would drag it out way too much, past the point of good. Leaving the audience wondering if Bella dies and if Jacob goes after Nessie would be great suspense (even if we all know what happens, a lot of people who haven't read the books would be on the edge of their seats). I can't believe that they said that the book had explicit sex scenes. I mean, what book were they reading? There is nothing really in there that is not found in today's PG-13 movies. The only way that it would be rated R is if they took things further than Stephanie did herself in the book. All of the insinuations from the book would be just fine in the movie... Honestly, I have seen a lot in PG-13 before that I thoought should have been rated R.

It's really just "he gazed into my eyes, we kissed, I was nervous...feathers everywhere." and "please Edward, please...broken headboard." I don't even think that's PG-13.

I agree with you about the sexual tension that is why whomever directs Breaking Dawn may have to add just a little more edge to the love scenes. No need for nudity. The chemistry between the actors are so hot the can bring that forth. There are a lot of people that are of age that loves this saga too.

Edward always wins! I didn't eat, sleep, teach much, or do anything else constructive that first week! We ate like sandwhiches for dinner and my husband bathed our daughter every night that week. Thankfully he was totally understanding and was happy to see me so into to it and taking some time for myself! Fanfic Edward gets all of my attention now, well that and Rob news on nmm.org! We are going on a cruise next week so that is when I was thinking about reading. I just gave Eclipse and BD to a friend of mine that is reading the saga. I may just take Twilight and NM.

Ahhh, The Notebook!!! That was the freaking hottest scene that I have ever seen. Surely they can make it a little Notebook esque! I want them to get it out of their minds that it will be all 11 and 12 years olds there! That age group should really not have even read it, to me it is more like... 14 and up. I teach 7th grade English and had a lot of girls that read it. I know for a fact that even though they liked it most of them didn't understand a lot of it. There will plenty of adult women in the theater and we want Notebook type stuff. It is the mom's faults if they let their little girls go and see it!

I mean that I think that 11 is too young to read sex scenes! It is definitly too young to watch something like the Notebook. There is a big difference between 11 and 14, those years are crucial. Just because you have been taught something about the mechanics of sex doesn't mean that you should read or watch passionate love scenes. In my opinion It is inappropriate and irresponsible for a parent to let thier 11 year old watch something like The Notebook. Anyway, just my opinion, I clearly remember being 11 and I had no business watching something like that and fortunitly I had parents who monitored that sort of thing. I think they can handle a max of 5 films (4 if they keep BD one movie) over like 4-5 years. The HP kids have it way worse. And the actors in that franchise (adults & kids) hardly do anything else in between. But more than that is just overexposure like you said. People & the actors will get so tired of it and it won't be a good thing. And I don't want them to be doing a new leg of the film in like 5 years with new cast members. This isn't Batman or Terminator.

I'd rather have 3 good films then 5 crappy ones. That's just me. I'll forfait BD if it can's be made well...

I don't know if they can fit all of the wedding, honeymoon, and gestation period in 90 minutes. They could end the first movie when Jacob comes to attack the Cullens and Bella shows him her massive belly. I do like the idea of 2 movies with the first one ending at the birthing scene but there is just so much in this book that cannot be skipped.

well, they are saying that they might dull down the sex scenes and the birthing scene, but i dont really think they would have to dull down the sex scenes because they do not go into much detail AT ALL in the first place..

and as far as the birthing scene goes, who cares if there is a little blood and gore..it IS a vampire movie.

I don't see how they could make an entire movie out of the Jacob portion alone. Books 1 & 2 can be one movie since that's human Bella and then they can move onto Book 3 and how the series finishes out.

I agree. I don't think that they would have enough material to to pull it into three movies. I'm kind of disappointed though about them having to change some scenes in order to not make it rated R. I feel like this is going to ruin the entire feel of the 4th book. If the little tween Twilight fans are that into the series, then their parents can accompany them to the film. The end, haha :)

i think breaking dawn should just be one long movie. like 3 and a half hours or something. take lord of the rings for example (the third one). it's 3 hours and 20 minutes. i saw it in theaters and it was all one movie. it came on video and it was on 2 tapes, but that's fine. it was still all one movie in theaters. why not do that with breaking dawn?

Breaking Dawn can be one movie maybe two but three is ridiculous. I think everything pertinent can be fit into a 3 hr movie. I think what fans should be aware of is that the ending is going to be completely changed. The book's translation of the Volturi conflict is boring for film. I think it's going to be a fight and others besides Irina may die or at least be hurt. Just like they beefed up the fight at the end of New Moon, I think the final confrontation is going to be completely different. It will include what Stephanie wrote but it's going to be a lot more action.

Yea. Two movies would be perfecto because Book of Bella 1 barely has anything to be turned into a movie. It makes a lot more sense for there to be only 2 parts, first part would be 1st Book of Bella and Book of Jacob (which is really one half of Breaking Dawn) and then part dos Book of Bella which is the second half of BD. And it would keep people wanting more cuz it would end when Bella is beginning to change and Jacob imprints on Nessie, and people who haven't read the books will be anxious and mad muahahahaha :D

3 movies DOES sound like a total rumor but I can see how it can be broken up into 3 movies -- there`s waaay too much that happens in between Bella`s transformation & the fight scene (Bella goes hunting w/Edward, Bella meets Renesmee, Bella almost kill`s jake, E&B`s cottage, Charlie visits, Bella & Emmett arm wrestle, Irina mistaking Nessie for an immortal child, Alice & Jasper take off, Carlisle calls other Vampires to be witnesses, Nessie interactions with first few Vamp witnesses, Bella`s secret trip to shady part of town, more vamp witnesses, Bella learning to fight, Bella practicing her shield etc...) Im just keeping my finger`s crossed that they keep Emmett`s pervy remark`s in there haha..also, i wanna punch Summit for firing Rachelle.

They don't need to stray from the book, SM wrote a very sexy smoldering love scene on Isle Esme and it wasn't graphic...it left it to our imaginations, and they can do that in the movie as well..

Each time I imagine bella and edward having sex I don't see raw f...king to call it in terms of explicit. it's sensual- yes. but god you don't have to make those scenes look like in fatal atraction. Facial epressions are important. The different emotions. I was envisioning the time after they found out that they've been sentenced to die and i picture them in a tigh embrance holding for each other for dear life and as in the book there is a fireplace somewhere near i see fire reflecting in bella's crimson eyes.decadency. a metaphor of the near end. so much different to the time after Bella becomes a vampire. You have to show that. Show the differences.

They can make beautiful stuff out of these scenes because it's their relationship that is so important in BD. The point is we see Bella and Edward finally as a mature couple who finally understand that the one thing they can be certain is their love for each other.

I totally agree. It's not bed action between two strangers who only lust for each other. It's between a husband and wife who unconditionally love each other. a couple who would do anything for the other one. It's time for them to share where there is no one else around no one else matters- just them. They can finally express what they think & feel physically to each other. They can make it beautiful. It doesn't have to be raunchy.

i am sure that they'll make something elegant but the thing is Summit must stop with making the biggest difficulty (besides Renesmee) the 'explicit' sex scenes and make us sound like some really bad horndogs.

Think of a different movie who exploits the love and passion in mariage the way BD does( or should or will do). I can't think of nothing else.

And that's my point as well. SM built the whole saga to the moment where the relationship is in it's summit. It isn't puppy love anymore. It's the highest level of devotion and also need. They crave but want to give everything they have. And BD has to show it in EVERY possible way.

I understand younger audience. I am 18 myself. And it was really maddening when someone told me to cover my eyes when I was younger. But in BD there are so many fibers and layers of love that they have to show people who didn't experience true love how it can be and let people who are in love reflect in this picture.

I just think they can do this right and make it beautiful to show the fibers, as you say, of the relationship. Instead of some cheap & taudry thing like everything else on TV these days. I mean honestly, BD is way more toned down that scenes on other shows most of the fans of Twilight watch. wicked let down. Before I even read the series I had a few people tell me that Books 3 & 4 get really explicit and some of the moms I know weren't sure if they wanted their kids to read them. So there I am reading the books and I'm like waiting for it to happen. The description of his face and his body and how his cold hands made her feel warm were maddening. And then...feathers. LOL. grrr!! Since Summit and MR have a habit of throwing their own stuff into the movies (ie: random vamp attacks) they sure can elaborate on the stuff between deep water and feathers.

well, think of it this way...titanic, showed a some'what graphic scene in the car, and then kate winslet nude on the couch, and it was 14A/PG-13. so if they wanted to (which i'm sure they wont) they could even have the nude bella on the operation table...and i made a suggestion to one of my friends, they could have alice, carlisle, jasper, emmett, and esme standing outside the door (creaked open) with worry on their faces, to expand from some of the gore...but every movie out there right now has a sex scene, and 75% of the time they ARE PG-13

I think we all added the "explicit" stuff in our own imaginations and then keep forgetting it isn't actually in the book. which is fairly tame except for innuendos.

AND THAT I WANT TO SEE! They get burned not beacuse the harm that edward causes but because he regrets and he puts all guilt on himself and Bella finally tells him to shut the f up and don't spoil the moment. And that's the best scene.

Ha ha I think Summit is definitly on something. Three movies is way too long and will lose my interest if just one book is drawn out into three movies. The book has so much detail that they could edit out. Haha, my thoughts exctly! The only one that would benefit from stretching it out so long would be Taylor/Jacob because he is suppose to continue looking older. It may just be the makeup, clothing, and hair, but I already think Rob looks older just in this one! (Of course, older on Rob looks good!)

I think it's a combo of the makeup and the warmer lighting. The lighting in Twilight almost made him look pre-teenish in color. The warmer tones in New Moon give him a more manly appearance. He could pass as more mature in high school.

I agree LTCB the actors are going to look way too old if they break BD into three and I don't think either Rob or Kristen would want to commit to 3 more films they will have other projects they want to do.

As much as I hate to say this, I think Breaking Dawn would be better as two movies. Yes, of course it is a possibility to be a very long movie (which extreme Twilighters like me wouldn't mind:], haha) but the most it could be would be like 3 hours. And if they did two movies, they could have like 5 hours to work with. Which would be great! Of course no one wants to wait another year for the second movie to come out, but I would much rather wait and see more details in the movies. As for making it three movies, I don't really like that idea. But I know Stephenie Meyer will do what she thinks is best! But I can just see Bella's heart thumping for the last time and then fading to blackkkk!!! AGGHHH!

I like edginess in Edwards character. Perhaps, it is the "almost" anger that is portrayed that threw me off. But that's just me. I think that all actors tend to interpret their character in the way that "they see them." Perhaps that's why your German Voice-over interpreted Edward so emotionlessly. ;)

3 movies is dragging it out way too much. I'm very confused on why they can't do a 3 hr movie. I sat through Transformers for 2 1/ hours. Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings did a 3hr movie with much success.

If the love scenes are done tastefully (as in, not graphic like in True Blood, although that works for the grown-ups!), they shouldn't have to tweak too much. Think about classic movies. For someone who's "been there, done that" (wink) you can get the point across w/o a lot of nudity. Now for the birth scene - I don't know about that! Maybe they could get it to PG-13.
Personally, I think Breaking Dawn can be done in ONE - yes, one - movie. *Ducks objects being thrown at her.*Think about it - Stephenie wrote in a style that took several chapters to cover ONE day. She covered everysingleactionandthought of the main characters. A lot of that can be compressed. Two movies is one too many. Although, HP is being done in two parts so I may eat my words!

MONEY. That's really what Summit is after.
They want to prolong the Twilight series so they can keep on making money.
Coz they know if they stop at one BD movie, the whole Twilight phenomenon would be over and they won't get any more money.
So it doesn't really surprise me with this new move they're playing. Prolonging the Twilight Saga for 3 more movies seems like what you would expect from cash vacuum Summit.

if they made 3 really brilliant movies that follwed the book then yes fine im okay with 3 cuz their is def enough stuff for 3 movies, but u know they will add extra bullshit like they did in twilight.

Summit alrready said they aren't toning down Breaking Dawn. It will most likely be either borderline PG-13 or R. Also, 3? No. 2? Maybe. But I'd prefer it to just be 1 long movie. We don't have to go into the wolf pack stuff. Just focus on Edward and Bella.

I think that it should be done in two movies, but use three if they must. I am one of the people that loved the entire saga the fourth book included. I think that in the first book it draws you in and then by the fourth you're so deeply involved in that world. So for anyone to think that it became too fantastical, that’s kind of ridiculous to me... we are entering a fantastical world and in the fourth book we've arrived and we get to see just how exquisite it actually is ;) can't wait for New Moon to come out and I will be on the edge of my seat waiting for all the rest. I LOVE THIS SAGA!!!!!

as far as the birth scene, they can always do it from Bella's perspective, where nothing is really seen, only heard. if "Prom Night" with murders and slashings and such can be pg-13, why not Breaking Dawn?

I dont know if this has been posted before but ..
I think it should be two movies, with it ending with a lot of gore at this birth scene and the last thing you see is edward biting bella.
Then in the second movie its starts black with just a voice over of bellas thoughts *possibly screaming* while shes enduring the transformation and then it shows her new life and the big build-up to a fight.
But the problem is the first film of breaking dawn would have to be a slightly low definition film with the camera to exaggerate her new extremely powerful vision in the next film.
And the next film will have to come out like a month or two later than the first

hmmmm, I don't see how they can make it into 3 good movies.
I only know of 2 big climaxes in the book. the pregnancy/birth..and the big showdown in the field.
I think two would be suffice, no? (:

But i think 3 or 2 is better then squishing it all into one that we won't be satisfied with!

I think that BD definitely needs to be made into more than one movie, but I think that they could easily fit it into two films instead of three. Am I crazy? And I really hope that they don't skimp on the honeymoon stuff. I want an R rating. lol

I just don't see anyone agreeing to three movies. Especially Rob and Kristen. They have probably already had their fill of the whole thing, considering how much media attention they have been getting. Plus I'm sure they are anxious to explore other opportunities.

There is no reason why two 3 hour movies can't be made. Even if they are longer than 3 hours, I would still see them. Hell, I would sit in the theater all day if I had to! LOL

I hate it when people imply that a Breaking Dawn movie would have be rated R because of "explicit sex and birth scenes". There are NO explict sex or birth scenes in Breaking Dawn! Put down the fanfiction and re-read the actual book. The "sex scenes" are far more tasteful and more fade-to-black than most sex scenes in PG13 movies, and other than mentioning broken bones and Edward having to use his teeth to perform a Cesarean -- which could easily be avoided with the right camera angles and relying on Taylor Lautner to sell what we aren't seeing -- the birth scene is also much less graphic than things filmmakers get away with in PG13 movies all the time. Any idea that there would be excessive skin or gore is either wishful thinking or intentional sensationalism to make people question BD's status as a "young adult" novel.

I think some people consider the broken headboard, feathers, and Bella's bruises as explicit. I personally don't, but explicit is in the eye of the beholder.

NONONONONO! they will be too, not boring, but slow. the book is fast and dramatic, and the film should be too. i dont care if i have to sit in the cinema for 3 hours, but it should be 1 movie. and people will forget what happened, and it wont have the amount of interest the others are going to get.(:

I'm just having a problem because I don't think they are going to get these actors back for three more movies. Thats what I worry about in this scenario. That they will have to lock them in for buko bucks...and sometimes it's not all about the money. Well, depends on how much they offer them as an incentive.
They may be able to keep the crew on, if they film all of BD in one time period (like a 9-12 month time frame) and then let them be on their way.
I think they would do it. Yeah, they may get tired of the fans.. but then all Summit would have to do is put barricades up with real guards. and start charging people.
Sorry, but if that is what has to be done to show the world some Amazing Edward. then so be it.

I think Renesmee will be very hard to find, I don't know which super babies could do the facial's expressions as described in the book, it's nearly impossible except by computer...

They will take plain babies. Put "markers" on their faces. Do the facial expressions on the computer, and add in the teeth and brown eyes (a large majority of caucasian babies are born with Blue eyes that change)
for the arm and body movements, it will probably be one of those green screen things where people move the babies... or where the limbs are moved by other means,
It won't be an infant/toddler/child acting. It will be a model used and then tweeked on the computer. (until old enough to actually act)

But yeah, it's not like there's actual sex scenes in the book really, and you need the dramatic birth scene! They can't tone that down, I don't think, without spoiling the effect of it. How can Bella be really near death, with worse injuries than when Esme was changed, without that birth scene?

An R rating in The US is 17 and up unless you have a parent or guardian...then you can go see them at any age if your parent thinks it's okay and will go with you.

In Canada, its 18, but if you have someone over the age of 18 with you, its okay.

Yeah I'm in the Uk too, I would rekon its a 15? I SERIOUSLY doubt that it would be an 18.

I loved BD. The only thing I would have changed was there was this HUGE build up to an ALMOST fight.....I mean 200+ pages of build up and then ending it easily...there should have been more blood shed....that way they would have a fued with the Baddy vamps and this could open the door for more books in the series......

Yikes! I cant imagine a whole movie being: Bella in happy place, B and E get married, B and E go to honey moon, B and E sleep together.. twice, B likes eggs, B freaks out, B and E fly home to deal with baby in B.

BLAH! I personally think that 1 movie should be fine. There are a lot of scenes that are unnessacary, and the whole B being preggers can be shortened. Maybe 2 movies.... the first one ending after Jacob see's Nessie for the first time...? or ending with Bell opening her eyes as a new vampire and Alice or Emmett saying something snarky.

Definitely 2 movies... Unless of course Stephanie will help draw out a third... That's kind of scary though. They'll have to film fast - very fast. Not ageing could cause some problems. What are we looking at 2012 for a full wrap up of everything Twilight? That's about 3 years!!!

BD is a BIG story and it is easier to put multiple POV into a movie. so make it a 2 hour film ... most of the book is just description, not dialog. i hope this is just rumor ... summit can't afford to irritate fans anymore!

That would be awesome for two different movies or even three, the downside is I'd like it to live up to the book with the whole child birth scene, who really doesn't have vivid imaginations that you weren't all seeing exactly what Stephenie wrote.
Once the younger fans are older or if their parents want they can see it, but it kinda stinks for us fans 20 years old and older

2 movies would make more sense! However 3 movies is quite appealing...just imagine we would have at least another 2/3 years of twilight hype :)

I'd be worried that some people would start loosing interest by the 3rd movie, it's like 8 harry potter films, it's just too much. I like the idea of having a lot of detail in each film but realisticaly they could make two 2 hour films and that would be enough.

Splitting BD into 3 movies is ridiculous. 2 movies okay....I am fine with that but prolonging the story to squeeze out another film is utterly ridiculous. Did I say ridiculous?!?!? I really can't believe everyone who thinks that Ron Howard is vying to direct Breaking Dawn. Seriously, this is not his genre and he doesn't need any help getting work. I understand the sadness w/ Rachelle being let go for BDH, but I honestly don't think it has anything to do with Ron Howard. BDH is a great actress and doesn't need nepotism...she has more than proven her acting chops already. Please let go of the Ron Howard crap, already.

I don't think many people here feel like throwing dirt at BDH. We have our pitchforks aimed right at the studios. But Summit is in the business of making money... sooo... *Shrugs* If they can make more by waving a multi-million dollar franchise under Ron Howard's nose... Why not?

As many would agree, PG-13 is very appropriate.

3 is going a bit too fair, I think. How would mthey split it, because splitting it into the 3 sections wouldn't really work, you couldn't make a full film out of the first section at all. The aging would be a problem, it would take so long! 3 films would be so depressing to wait for too haha
I always imagined it would be made into 2, splitting it when Bella is dying and Renesmee is born. Whatever they do though, I'll be happy , as long as they actually make the film.

I can see it being split into two movies. It's what they are doing for the final Harry Potter movie. However, I can't see some of the cast sticking around for 3 more movies. It would be fairly easy for Breaking Dawn to be 3 + hours. With a pee break intermission as they did with Titanic and Pearl Harbor.

As for comments about Ron Howard directing.....I absolutely adore his movies. He is one of my favorite directors, and I would love to see his take on Breaking Dawn. My anger doesn't involve him or Bryce. I have no reason to hate my little Opie. A special place in my heart will always belong to The Andy Griffith Show. It's based in a North Carolina town. My homestate!

Of course, my dream director would be Chris Weitz for Breaking Dawn. If we are talking big named directors, Jerry Bruckheimer would be okay. He did a fairly decent job with Transformers. He was on my sh*t list until I found out the original voice actor for Optimus Prime and Megatron would be in the film. (Like y'all really wanted to hear that)

I agree about the three movies-- i feel like something would be drawn out WAY TOO MUCH if there were three 90 minute movies. I could compromise for two parts.

As for the director business, I LOVE Ron Howard and Clint Eastwood as directors. Some of my all time favorite movies are by them.

Clint Eastwood movies are wonderful- visionary- you said it! Tim Burton would turn a love/fight story into some grotesque little world. I like his movies, but his style doesn't fit this saga. Can you imagine what he'd do to your wolf pack?

I agree. Ron Howard brings real beauty into the world of his movies, really brings them to life. He understands his characters. Doesn't he usually work for Universal Pictures, though. If he directed it might have to be a joint venture between Summit and him. Also, he has his own production company. He'd really have to WANT to do it to make it happen.

The "battle that never happened" in which everyone stood ready and no sacrifices had to be made for honor or glory (even if ppl didn't die.. b/c I loved the characters) it was a bit odd.. People prove their worth through hard times. and in this book. no one really gave up anything, except Jake who was then ..*gags* totally mesmerized by Nessie and never his personality in the book from that. point on..

I have to laugh when Breaking Dawn is referred to as "explicit." The book itself is kind of the opposite of "explicit." All the explicitness is in readers' imaginations. I don't, frankly, see what's so hard about keeping a Breaking Dawn movie PG-13. That's what camera cut-aways are for (and it's the film counterpart to what Meyer does as a writer all the time).

I can't see the actors signing on for three more movies after "Eclipse." They're understandably in demand for other projects. Actually, compared with Twilight and New Moon, in terms of plot points, I think BD could just as easily be done as a single movie. Honestly, there's quite a bit of angsty downtime in that book.

Look at LotR, it's a very complex trilogy with so many characters and details, but they managed to make ONE movie for each book.

I agree.. one movie would be okay.. all the LoTR theatrical versions were over 3 hours long and I didn't see it stopping anybody from going. In that same token, they also released the director's cut with almost another whole hour of footage for LoTR. So there's always that option.

Goodness knows I'm already impatient enough for New Moon to come out.. if I have to wait even longer for the series because BD is 2 movies, I might have a hissy fit!!!

LofR script was one of the best book adaptations ever! They really managed to put most of important stuff in it and the books a packed, I mean there's so many things, so many details. And yes, everyone went to see the movie.
Yeah, I've seen the directors cut, you are right there's always that option. But honestly 3 hours for BD would be enough.
I am impatient too, I don't know if I could keep my attention for so long either haha. I'll go nuts if they decide to make two films and if we have to wait for months for the second part.....*shudders*

I know, right?! There's a heck of a lot more stuff going on in Tolkien's books than in the Twilight books.. I mean, for heaven's sake, it even had it's own appendices!! And I *loved* the screen adaptation of the books.

I think someone as passionate about the Twilight books as Peter Jackson was about the LotR books could do an awesome job on BD.

And speaking of dragging a series out... I can't stand that they're dragging the Harry Potter series out into 8 movies.. sheesh.. I'll have given up a decade of my life by the time all of those movies come out, and I don't like them anywhere near as much as I like the Twilight books!

To be honest I would LOVE for it to be just one big movie, but then it would seriously be about 4 or 5 hours long, because everything in Breaking Dawn is pretty much crucial to the stroyline so they can't leave much out. So I know thats unrealistic. But i would prefer it to be in two parts, 3 is a bit much.
And HEY! I thought there was a previous post (mind you it was ages ago) saying that there were no plans to 'reduce the sexiness' in the film(s)?

I would bet they would film the two movies concurrently and then have them come out like six months apart, say, maybe Dec. 2010 and June 2011.

They shouldn't wait too long to do this, they need the same cast, crew, director, etc. Need the same quality for them all.

thing is,not much happens in about 40-50% of the book,all that inner monologue and dialogue stuff and period during B's pregnancy etc works in print but on screen,audience will be bored out of their mind,so it can't take too long, there's not much to work with, two movies are more than enough. HP 7 will be two movies,and it's action-packed book from start to finish.

It´s so difficult for me to see this book as a movie, not the first part really...that i can see it very well, Edward´s been managing with a human Bella all the time, so having sex with her is the ultimate natural thing for him to do even though she is human, but all the after events...I can´t see it...it´s almost disgusting and It will spoil all the beautiful nature of their love, ( Bella drinking blood, broken things inside her body, everybody laying next to her couch in silence watching her death) the delivery is simply terrible and I don´t think that is going work very well specially for the atmosphere of this films, not so gore, and afterwards Bella being a vampire, OK, but they will have to manage to get some action there because if we are about to see all the Volturi thing and end it all with just a long talk....mmmm.....maybe a two and a half hour film?

Seriously.....2 movies would be good but no offense youngins....but "tweeking" the birth and sex scenes are just stupid...it was basically the most exciting parts in the book. I think Eclipse should be rated R bc they can make the fight scenes 100x better than a pg-13....the fan base will be older and if theyre not make them bring there parents. It's a crappy idea. There's nothing in BD that they can't do in 3hrs a la Harry Potter/LOTR style. If they INSIST on multiple movies, 2 for the most is acceptable, the main reason being I can't bear to think of Rob, Kristen and the rest of the cast having SumSH!T own their souls for another 2/3yrs. It's frigging ridiculous already, especially given how commercial the entire Saga has gone. They turned something special into a money-making machine and do they really think the fans will care about the movies if by the time they come out the actors look miserable enough to kill themselves just to get away from it all? As much as the cast may still have chemistry NOW, I think if they stretch things out too much, the special connection they all have will probably have withered by then.

Only one movie has been released so far and already Rob and Kristen are prisoners to their celebrity. I think it's really unfair to force them to subject themselves to more of that simply because the fans want more of them, especially if they themselves want nothing to do with it by then. Yes, the franchise is what's making them super-famous now but I don't think they realized that when they signed on for it they were literally signing away their lives. It's one thing if you can't take a step in front of you without tripping over a fan-girl, but it's something completely different when you have no control over your life or your career. I really wouldn't be surprised if by the time it's all done, if they really make them do 2/3 movies for BD, that Rob really just goes back to England and quit acting. I honestly wouldn't blame him.

You may think the chemistry won't die but what do we really know other than what they show us? Just because you like somebody TODAY doesn't mean ur gonna like them tmw or that you want to spend the next 2 odd years being around them. They have lives outside of this franchise. We have no idea how they really feel about anything they're doing or eachother. I may be a fan but I'm not so bold as to ask, nay DEMAND, that they put their lives on hold to give me what I want. And the only reason Summit can take such advantage of them is because they're young. I think even the older cast members might be tired of it all by then, even if their moods are still genial and upbeat right now.

We'll probably have an idea of how they're feeling about things by the time Eclipse is done. If Rob looks ready to take a long walk off a short pier and Kristen embodies the pothead so many people think she is, we'll have our answer.

I understand you want to see as much Taylor as possible and the Rob girls will wanna eat up Rob as much as they can, but I think there comes a point where the fans have to stop thinking about themselves and really think about the actors.

Now that's just a stupid idea.

Just get rid of Jacob's perspective on events (which was a silly idea to begin with, considering how important it is in the first books to see everything through Bella's eyes) and focus on the key points:

- wedding & honeymoon (clearly something that Meyer is keen on seeing properly and extensively adapted..and I couldn't agree more, I think that the first part is wonderful, while the rest of the book is pure rubbish, banal and lazily written)

- pregnancy (an interesting idea, however badly developed)

- vampire-Bella (extremely predictable and dull conclusion, but there's nothing the screenwriter can do about that, unfortunately)

- the newfound dynamic amongst the main characters with the arrival of the "baby"

- the final confrontation with the Volturi (poorly written, hopefully it will be better on screen).

Overall, let's say about two hours and a half of a cleverly adapted movie ("Harry Potter and the goblet of fire", anyone?).

I couldn't agree with you more, Nora. I think two parts are enough. No need for three part, though I do love Jacob and to see his perspective, it really isn't relative. I mean they can do what stephanie did. It's not like she work out the entire sex scene, just do the flashes of them together, then do the next morning with feather everywhere and broken head board. I was just reading it last night. There is ALOT of blood in the birth scene. I forgot how much. Being true to the book.... If they kept all of the sex (even though not explict) and the blood in one movie it would prolly have to be R. If they split it up and spread it out to 2 movies...PG-13 would be appropriate.

In all honesty...I have thought about the movie making of BD quite a bit. I think that two movies should do it. I think...pre vampire Bella (Wedding Honeymoon and Pregnancy) and post vampire Bella (Renesme and Volturi). I think just like the last two of the Matrix they should be released VERY close together and I think that in the first one the ending should be Bella opening her red eyes and smiling a creepy little smile. That would lead so perfectly into the next one.

The speculation about the movie rating for BD bugs me... why can't they do two versions of it? They could produce a pg-13 film for the younger fans and a "uncut" original (to the book) version for the older fans. I've seen it done in other movies a million times before and I don't see why they haven't put that into consideration yet. If they only release a pg-13 movie, I'll be extremely disappointed. While I know that Summit doesn't want to lose majority of their fans (since most of them are tweens), they should still consider the fact that the older fans want the movie to reflect the book and not take out it's major parts. I mean, the c-section scene was crazy and I don't see how in the world they could take it out all together. Summit should really consider making two different versions of the movie, or else I'll send my ninja dad to fight 'em!

Two parts is good, like someone said, film them back to back like HP. but who knows, this sounds like a rumor. I think that trying to fit the whole book into one movie is a bad idea, the movie will lack too much. Two movies is good. Three might be overkill.

Actually I disagree with everyone who says Jacobs POV shouldn't be in the movie.
It was a key part of the book especially if you are a Jacob fan..sorry that Stephanie didn't decide to write 700 pages of just Edward and Bella...when it comes to Breaking Dawn..its not really a story about Edward and Bella..but about everyone..Jacobs POV was funny and you got to see how heartbroken he really was and how he over came that. If there is no Jacob POV it would be pretty boring plus what the hell would they show? cause Stephanie didn't write what was going on with Edward and Bella while Jacob was away..and im pretty sure they aren't going to cut out some of the scenes like Jacob becoming the Alpha..which is pretty important since he pretty much saves the Cullens and if you really think about it..yes the movies are in Bellas POV but how much of her thoughts do we actually hear? maybe one or two lines..other than that its like any other movie where you see things that are going on that Bella doesn't know about...Jacobs part is very important and it has to be in the movie.

As for the 3 part thing...I doubt its true...I dont think summit will be scared of making a 3 hour movie...and I dont think it will be any longer than 3 hours because if you think of about it...there was almost an entire chapter in Bellas head..thats why the book is sooo long. Whoa. This thought had never even crossed my mind. Of course Kristen will play vampire Bella. They've done her up nicely for several photoshoots where she is vampire-ish. She's wicked beautiful when she wants to be. And the fact that Rob and Kristen have such amazing chemistry cannot be overlooked. That in and of itself would be impossible to duplicate or force even for Summit. Not to mention the huge outcry from all of us loyal Twilight fans.

Do you imagine what it'd mean if they changed the main actress or, what the fans' reactions would be, especially since we just saw how recasting Victoria (and Rachelle's not even the main actress) went with the fans? *Sigh* I can't believe this has turned into such a big debate. It's not going to be 3 movies. If they do multiple, it will be 2 movies -- the split will be somewhere after Renesmee is born (before the Irina/Volturi thing). That seems the most logical.

It would make ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE to do 3 movies (1 per "book") because the storylines overlap in each of the 3 "books"... They're only split that way in BD so that readers can see what's going on during the Bella pregnancy/transformation and wolfpack storyline while Bella is out of it or too wrapped up in being pregnant to tell anything from her perspective. That's sort of "duh." They're not making 3 movies.

I agree. I think the 411 site has misunderstood whatever they heard. I would think there's lots of mumbles and rumors out there about Breaking Dawn in the film industry as Summit decides what to do and who's going to be doing it in time for the big announcement.

I hate that people think the movies can only be good if they're R. There have been plenty of romantic/intense movies that have been PG13. Plus they don't want to alienate their teen audience. There's absolutely no way these movies will be R. That rumor should be laid to rest.

Because there isn't enough action to divide between 2 or 3 movies and fans will be bored and dissapointed after each movie.

Because I have Breaking Dawn as one book and I want one movie.

Because the main storyline is Bella's road of becoming a vampire phisically and emotionaly and it would be illogical to suddenly make Jacob the main character.

Because by the time all 3 movies come out the main fanbase will become adults and have their priorities in a slightly different order - first life, then Twilight.

AND every movie has to have a good climax. If we make it to 3 movies, we don't get to have good climax points anymore.

Hate to break it to you, but I would bet that at least half of the fan base (if not more) is already adult. Speaking as a 30-something mom, my priorities are in order...but that doesn't mean I won't stand in line to see Breaking Dawn the second it opens.

And to those saying "just make it R"...well, as an adult that would be fine with me. However, a large part of the Twilight fan base is young adult and their needs must be met as well. I'm with those who say to film an unrated cut for the DVD and keep the theatrical version PG or PG13.

I'm out of teen age too. :) Teens push the whole Twilight industry, they go to see movies for 10 times and more, they scream at all those conventions, they buy most of merchandise. When those teens turn into adults and start living on their own, this industry will loose lots of money. I'm just saying that usually after some time obsessions tend to lessen.

Good points. i agree with all of them except that I think that it could be 2 movies filmed concurrently and spaced out within 6 months time. Any longer than six months would be pushing it.

I also think that it needs to show more points of view, maybe Edward's as well as Bella and Jacob's. In the book Edward just stands around and broods with frustration during much of the time.

Two or three movies would have to do. The viewer (having not read the book which I know seems odd) would not understand the story if it were one movie. My mother just watched Twilight with my daughter to try to understand the "craze" and was completely lost. Now she is going to read the book's so she can discuss it with granddaughter.

I would rather them make two or three movies than to make one and not cover everything. I really don't mind if they make it R rated. That would be totally fine with me!!!

I can see why you may need to play down the birthing scene, but the love scenes. Please; Stephenie didn't even elaborate on those scenes just the aftermath of them. Why can't they let the audience's mind lead to wonder what happened between the 2 of them.
I believe if they do a love scene it will not be as good as I imagined it. That would be disappointing.

No, I understand you okay. The Harry Potter actors were very young when they started and their parents must have understood that it was a series and that it would be done over several years. Also, Harry Potter books were already hugely popular all over the world.

The Twilight books were very popular when they started the movie but no one seemed to be sure how popular the movie would be until after ComicCon 2008. The principle actors had a contract for the 1st movie with an option on the two other books being made into movies (BD had not been published at that time). The actors were not sure what they were signing into.

Because of the uncertainty and them being relative unknowns, they also had to sign to do a lot of promotion on these movies. That's a lot of time to put in.

The Twilight actors were all adults going in but new to movies. Their careers are skyrocketing now. They all seem to love the Saga but probably don't want them to be their entire life's work.

I could see it more as two movies than three, but I don't think they should split it. It doesn't have to be an hour and a half. It could two and a half hours.

If they split it there won't be much action in the first one.

And making a third movie would make no sense.

Ummmmm...yeah 3 movies is a bit extreme. I seriously wouldn't mind watching Breaking Dawn if it were 4 hours long lol as long as they have some sort of intermission that permits a bathroom break, I'll be fine =)

They should adopt the Harry Potter method. Split the last book in two movies and shoot them back to back. 3 movies are way to much and I really think is quite improbable they would consider make the last book into 3 movies.

Three's a lot. Perhaps they could just make the two parts longer, almost like splitting it to make "3 movies worth of time" on two movies. I hope they don't tone it down. Please keep it R rated! That's how it was meant to be. Too bad if little 10 year olds won't be able to see it. The majority of us are in our teens/ adults. =)

ok so, i don't see a prob with them doing 3 movies only because thats how it is in Breaking Dawn. It goes Bella's book, Jacob's Book & Bella's Book again. It makes sense that way, BUT if we have to wait for a long time between movies, Then NO WAY! just make ONE 3 or 4 hour movie!!!!! and OMFG if they screw up this book with all their talk about "quite a bit of tweaking" junk, i will be sooo pissed! I don't agree with them editing the love and birth scenes. The Twilight Series was not meant for kids anyway. It's a young adult series. Why should we suffer because a bunch of kids decided to read a book that wasn't really meant for them?

Yea I totally agree with all of you. And I definitely think that would be able to pretty much do the whole book w/o tweeking some of the parts... Like for the sex scenes, its not like its really that graphic anyways... and for the birth scene, its not like we have to see everything... maybe just do it from somebody elses point of view for that.

ok if they really do three movies they need to make at perfect. i not a stickler for details but in this one they need it perfect. its my favorite book of the four. but they need to release them with maybe a month a two break in between. i hate waiting for a show to come back especially if it is my favorite. they did that a lot this year in the tv shows.
but until i hear more from summit themselves or the actors i will take this as a rumor. and hope that it just becomes a movie. they could make the movie in two parts.

I think Breaking Dawn would be good as three movies as it is put into three different books in one. However, for those who haven't read the books, it might be better, if, you do the first film and stop it just as Bella's heart stops beating, then do the rest of the book in the second film?

pearl harbor the movie with ben affleck and josh hartnett is 3 hours. so if they could do that in 3 they could make bd in the 3 hours or a little more. titanic is three and half hours. if people can't sit for more than that that is your problem not the studios and not mine. and three movies would be pushing it. they could make them back to back like hp 7.

3 is way too long. It will drag. But, I'm still waiting and hoping that New Moon is going to save the way I feel about the movies at all. There weren't what i would consider "explicit" sex scenes in breaking dawn, yeah there were a few vague references, a build up that ended in a terrible anti climax.....' oh look theres the sun, oh whats with all the feathers? did a bird get stuck in the air con? wait there is no air con here yet...puzzled face'
Most films with sexual references are like pg-13, even films with drug use are pg-13 so i dont see a problem, at all, but BD should be two movies, i think the first part ending on bellas last heartbeat, maybe with the look of horror in both Edwards and Jacobs eyes, and the second should start with her waking up.
And the birth scene, well i think that it should be included and not toned down, im not saying turn it into a Saw type horror gore show, but considering the emphasis placed on the difficulty of the pregnancy and birth itself in the book, it would be a bit stupid to tone it down, as it would take away from that.
So no toning down the birth scene, and more toning up the sex scenes :D

i dont mean to sound rude, but i hope they do 3 movies so i dont have to listen to people cry & moan about how they changed stuff from the books. i was sick to death of people complaining over some missing scenes in twilight, Like if making 3 movies is the only way they know that they can stay 100% true to the books then im fine with that, i just hope they film back to back so they can all come out within months of eachother then sell as a DVD package. id be so happy to see breaking dawn and see every little part as i remember. id actually love it if the first movie was bella, the 2nd was jacob and the 3rd was back to bella with her life as a vampire. thats what we need and it would be amazing that way. This would be too stupid for words, OK I would love to see two films made out of breaking dawn but there is just not enough material in it to make three. If this is true then it screams to me that the studio want to milk this cash cow for everything, unfortunately that will mean that the story will suffer.

I just want them to make a faithful adaptation of the book, including the 'inappropriate' scenes, the majority of people who watch the films have read the books, they know what to expect. If it was too much for them then they should never have read the books and the sex scenes are only implied anyway, personally I'd like a little more visual for those! I wanna at least be able to see Rob in just his tighty wighties. The book had the moral message anyway, they waited until they were married, they censors should be glad it's sending out that sort of message.

i dont think they should make breaking dawn into 3 seperate films, or it will end up like Harry Potter and the deathly hallows, which people are already losing intrest with, they should make it in to one 3 hour film, 1 hour for each section of the book, bella, jacbo and bella again. But if it did come down to spliting it into 2-3 films, they need to be released months appart and not years

i think it should be just 2 movies rather than 3.. the first movie can be up until bella gives birth, and ends kinda with that but an open ending.. where we kinda see that jacob has imprinted on renesmee.. and then the second movie should be the rest of breaking dawn, when bella is now a vampire..
it should be that way because there are two plots in the book, rather than just one or even three.
first plot: bella's pregnant, and she struggles to survive [first movie]
second plot: irina sees renesmee and believes her to be an immortal child, and she tells the volturi, leading them to want to destroy reneesme [second movie]

Don't even get me started on toning the movie down from the book. There isn't any toning down needed, AT ALL. The birthing scene is awesome. It's one of the most important scenes in Breaking Dawn because it sets the tone of the movie. They better show it like it is described in the book. If they have to cut down on the blood and what not fine, but Stephanie Meyer wrote what she wrote, it better be in the damn movie.

There better be some lovin shown too. Yea Stephanie Meyer writes in a 'fade to black' style, but theres so much other suggestive sex talk in the book that it won't hurt to throw some sensual scenes in to the movie. And I'm not talking explicit or raunchy scenes, just show us that Bella and Edward have sex...a lot. And that they enjoy it lol Many have mentioned the scenes in "The Notebook" which are good examples of what they can do in PG-13. The scenes don't even have to be as sexy as those, I just don't want some Nikalodeon movie.

I think Breaking Dawn should be turned into two movies. Not three. Thats insane. The first book is only like 6 chapters long! Thats not an entire movie. If they combine them 1 and 2 should be combined since 3 is like a totally different story completely. That would make sense the most. And it would leave enough suspense for people to come back for part 2.

Nope, leave it one movie and take out all the boring crap that I wish I would have just skipped over. Sorry BD was the worse out of the saga, there was a lot of nonsense that I could have done without, so hopefully the movie will take care of that for me. Three movies of BD would be ridiculous and I don't think the cast would like that either, they seem to want to move on to other projects.

One movie, please. There's a TON of boring in the middle of that book that can be summed up in about 5 minutes. Cut down on some of the drawn-out wolf parts. Cut out the dumb J Jenks storyline. If they make BD more than one movie, I think I'll end up losing interest before it is finished.

i think breaking dawn should just be one long movie. take the third lord of the rings for example. it's 3 hours and 20 minutes. i saw it in theaters and it was all one long movie. then it came to video and was 2 tapes, which is fine. but why couldn't breaking dawn be like 3 and a half hours? it would make it much less complicated. it would be plain stupid to have 'the breaking dawn trilogy'. it basically sounds like breaking dawn is the book series and there's 3 books in there. sttupppiiddd.

okay, so i agree 3 movies is overkill! and even though like the whole time i was reading New Moon i wanted to spear Jacob, i started to fall in love with him in Eclipse and grew to love him even more in Breaking Dawn, taking out his part in the movie would be sad! some, well a lot, of my favorite parts happened in Jacobs part of the book! it would be sad not to see some of those things! plus Jacob gives Edward the idea that the baby wants or needs blood and all the confrontations with Rosalie are just funny! so 3 movies? no! 2 movies, do-able!

I think 3 movies is one too many, if I remember correctly the book goes like this:
SPOILERS just in case

1.- The wedding, honeymoon and bella finding out she's pregnant(About 90 minutes of a wedding and a honeymoon is too boring, (maybe except for some the sex scene which i hope they dont make it explicit, i hope is done in a nice way, cute, hot and romantic is a good combination), there will be nothing going on in the movie until the end when they found out she's pregnant)
2.- The pregnancy, everything with jacob which is not much, the birth and the beginning of bella's transformation (again a whole movie about a pregnancy is too much, and like before there will be nothing going on until the end with the birth)
3.- Bella a vampire, the whole deal of jacob and Nessi, and the problems with the volturi(this one i can see working as a movie)

I even think they can make it into one, but is going to be longer, but two will be fine, the whole idea of the first one being the wedding, the honeymoon, the pregnancy and the birth ending with bella's heartbeat it will be awesome, I would lose my breath it that happens even if I already know what happens

I think they shouldnt squash it all into 1 movie as there is so much. But 3 movies? The first one they will just be dragging out the part where they get married and then have there honey moon and find out Bellas pregnant; which isnt alot too fill 90 mins. I think they should combine the start of Bellas perspective and Jacobs perspective and then end it on Bella going into labour and then giving birth but as you say taking her last breath. Then the next movie make it about how she doesnt act like a newborn vampire and nessie growing up and then the volturi coming to kill all the cullens. From a movie fans point of view that may take the interest off the saga, book fans like myself will wait but people who have not read the books might not want to wait and they may lose interest and forget the previous movie.
Since when does it have to be a 90 minute movie? Harry Potter was like 156 minutes so why can't Breaking Dawn be longer than 90 minutes, i know i would sit there and watch it and i'm sure other die hard fans will too!

I think that it should be done in two movies, but use three if they must. I am one of the people that loved the entire saga the fourth book included. I think that in the first book it draws you in and then by the fourth you're so deeply involved in that world. So for anyone to think that it became too fantastical, that’s kind of ridiculous to me... we are entering a fantastical world and in the fourth book we've arrived and we get to see just how exquisite it actually is ;) can't wait for New Moon to come out and I will be on the edge of my seat waiting for all the rest. I would actually love to see BD as a trilogy. That's what it actually is and I agree, it's the only way to do it justice. Otherwise, you get a complete and total re-write; the reader's digest version chopped to pieces. I just can't imagine it being done with the current cast. As an old fogey, I look at these young pups/leeches and realize that there is no way any of them are going to make it through another three movies on top of what they have now. Who wants to watch Edward age? Who wants them to have to switch Edward and Bella because they are too old to play teenagers? Bella had a point, If you want to stay a teen forever, you'd better get with it and not mess around. They did it successfully with Lord of the Rings only because they filmed all three books simutaneously.

Here's what I'd love to see. A TV series, based on Twilight, taking it's time and actually following the book. Could you imagine?

I'd like to see Breaking Dawn into 3 parts. I'm guessing the first part would be the marriage/honeymoon/pregnancy. The second would be Jacobs parts aswell as the birth possibly, and lastly, part 3 would be Bella settling in as a vampire mum, and the 'battle' and Bella flaunting her sheild :). I don't know what y'all are on about, but there is plenty of crap in this story to make it into 3 parts.

I don't want Summit spitting out these movies so fast.
If BD was 3 parts, at least they'd all come out a few months apart, giving us time to breathe and take it all in.

This whole saga feels too quick. And I know they're doing that on purpose, but I want something to look forward to in 2-3 years time.

omgoodness!! after reading everyone's comment, i realized that it would make sense why summit wanted to make the book into a three-part movie because of bella's book, then jacob' book, then bella's book again.....but!...i still think that a three-part movie would be just too much. however, i do not want jacob's book to get cut out, or too shortened either...*sigh* what are we to do?? how are we to decide?? i want to see as much of the story as possible turned into a movie. i'm just hoping they dont cut out too much of the pregnancy, birthing, reneseme, volturi, meeting the other vampires(very excited about this part).......i WANT to see everything down to esme island!

I think two movies would do it. The seconds starting up as Bella waking up to being a vampire. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the movie picture they have, with Bella and Edward setting by the beach. Were did this come from I would love to see more like it!!!

A thought occurs to me, whilst some of the scenes that were described as explicit, could appear so to a person say aged 14, to a person aged maybe 19 they could seem relatively tame, so depending on the age of the reader, it would be hard to find a balance, and to rate the film correctly, BD is going to be a very hard film to make.

I think that this needs to be a 2 part movie...we have to see the wedding and the honeymoon...but also put the Book two from Jacob's POV. the end should be where Jacob first sees Renesmee and then hear Bella's heart quickening! The second movie start with a recap of the birth and then Bella waking up...With her POV and flashes of the Cullens' while waiting! totally great...Three movies would be WAYYYYYYY too much!

I could see 2 not 3. However the way Summit has been fickle with the budget they will find away to still into one 3 hour film.

i wouldnt be able to wait that long for three movies to come out, it would be torture!!! i think i could live with two movies but not three, summit will find a way.
