I don't think this song is all that great to be honest....def could have picked better. I have high hopes for this soundtrack and this song shot them down a little.

Again, they would be doing themselves a favor to use some of the music from Stephenie's playlist. She got EVERYTHING right. And I'm not a huge fan of the new Death Cab song either. Sorry to sound like such a bummer, but I normally LOVE DCFC, but this is their worst song. :(

I'd have to disagree. Some of Stephenie's songs, while great by themselves, would make terrible choices for a movie.

The director obviously has to pick songs that fit the feel and mood, and especially the flow of his movie. I trust Chris here completely.

I like this song more and more each time I hear it. The lyrics are spot on for Bella in New Moon. Chris Weitz couldn't use music from Stephenie's playlist since all songs on this soundtrack are supposed to be brand new.

Yes, that is one good point, too. In some movies that's not the case, but it does seem to be the case in the Twilight franchise. I think that's really awesome. And just goes to show how much of a pop phenomenon the whole series has become!

Yeah - I think that's awesome the songs are exclusive to the films. Because then when you hear them, you only think of Twilight - it's not some song you've heard 100 times before..that conjures up thoughts about a different movie or an old boyfriend lol ;-)

I think that it actually fits pretty well. The story is tragic, so a slower and more melancholic song works. I'm sure that they will figure out a good scene for it as well.

The lyrics are good and I like the melody but it's the same - I don't like it that much... But I think that after we see the movie and hear the song IN the movie maybe we'll already have another point of view *winks* C'mon, November, come FASTER!!!

I know I wanted more muse lol I like the sing for absolution, the beat is so melancholy that for some reason it reminds me of Edward O_o. But overall, I like the lyrics of this song :) it goes with the movie!

I can picture Bella crying and going through her depression listening to it.

Meet me on the equinox is better than this song, the singers voice is annoying and I wanted the-all american rejects on this soundtrack, paramore aswell, I liked paramore before twilight but they were doing their new album but stil, they didn't want to be the "vampire house band", but who cares if you get money and get more popular.

I would this song to be re-sung by someone else, this chick sounds hippyish like Catherine Hardwicke, might as well have gotten her to sing it if you're going to let Arna whoever she is sing it like that.

Btw I think muse replaced the used, but I don't mind since the used swear too much, swearing is not needed in songs. but only in real life and some of their songs sound dodgy, I only like the taste of ink song, but I would remove the swearing.

Probably, the used swore on the track "For you I would" and that wouldn't be a PG-13 rated song and they probably wanted to keep the swearing so they got kicked out and muse's "I belong to you" new moon remix got on the soundtrack instead, so that's not too bad.

I hated eyes on fire so I wouldn't like similar songs like that on the new moon, eclipse or even breaking dawn (if it gets made, probably will) soundtrack.

I really dont think paramore is a "sell out" kinda band, I mean yeah the money is good, but they want to reach other people besides what they consider goth/twilighters/vampire band.
I think the song's melancholy sound really goes with the movie, again its not my first choice of the sound track, but lets give it a chance. After all none of us have seen the movie yet and we dont know where this song plays in the movie

And for The Used, I didnt know they were "kicked" off the soundtrack or even "kicked off for swearing" is this an assumption? Because we could assume the same for Coldplay and several other bands that had confirmed to be on the soundtrack and now they are not.
I respect your opinion and this site devoted to the movies/actors/just about all things twilight, but downgrading people/bands ect just isnt very nice.

What about Exogenesis Symphony 1-3 on Resistance? The tone is great for New Moon and the lyrics start out with panic and confusion and end with lyrics all about forgiveness. Very much like New Moon.

I LOVE Anya Marina, so I might be biased when I say that I think this song is perfect.

Not as the main theme song, obviously, but as a little piece in the middle of the movie somewhere... maybe right after Bella gets out of her depression and starts "waking up."

Or maybe that's the song we'll hear on her first trip home after she's just been with Jacob. It's sad, but happy somehow. :)

I think it's perfect. I can definitely see me listening to this one on the soundtrack over and over.

OOh.. not exactly what I go for musically, but it totally grew on me.. I thought the moodiness/open/spacious/empty feeling worked for the broken-heart effect and the lyrics are nice!!

And never get tired of seeing the pics (even though for some reason Bella's brown coat really bothers me.. like really really bothers me.) LOLOL

I know the song was fitting for Bella's hurtin scenes, better than that coat fits Bella...It has bothered me too for a long time...It just covers her all up....It's like you can't see anything but that coat....Its to big and the wrong color....

I am entitled to my opinion. I didn't hate on you just because you LOVED the song. There may be songs I love on the soundtrack, perhaps this one will grow on me. However, for now I find it a tad bit boring. I am a huge fan of the series, just because I don't LOVE a song, doesn't mean I don't LOVE Twilight or New Moon.

I may be in the minority here, but I really like it. Not mind blowing or life-changing, but it's simple and mellow. I think it will be great to have this style instead of having all faster/harder music. The variety is nice and a welcome change.

This song brought tears to my eyes.. To see it in NM... well I think my heart will be broken threw this hole movie. CW and crew did a awesome job picking this soundtrack, obviously not evey one will like it... OH well LOL IMO... so far.. this soundtrack is going to fit the movie to a T. Thank You CW for putting mostly unknowns on the soundtrack, that makes The Saga even more special.

Omg, I almost cried from listening to this. This song just fits New Moon so perfectly. This song and Bella's broken heart go perfectly together. I'm definitely going to cry when I watch New Moon.

I think this song is perfect. It's understated but you sense the hollowness, desperation and disbelief that Bella feels when Edward leaves her. She attempts in New moon to make the best of the situation and tries to live her life, however, she remains loyal to Edward in mind and soul, thus Satellite Heart. Her love is elsewhere and she desperately seeks to regain what was lost.

I think CW surmised it best when he was trying to describe why the New Moon story has such a mass appeal:
"That's a pretty common scenario, and unfortunately also, so is being dumped. I know I've experienced it—pretty much anybody except the incredibly lucky has experienced it—and the supernatural element of things just allows for a degree of wish fulfillment. We can play out these scenarios on a grand scale. When you get broken up with, you'd like to think that if you just did something brave enough, something amazing enough, you could rescue the relationship that's been broken. And you would like to think that the person who's left you has left you for your own good against their heart."

OMG I totally pre-ordered my new moon cd yesterday and got this song n i must say i love it so much its lyrics are amazing and they make me feel like its concentrating on Edward and Bella's relationship. AHHH love =)
