tinsel korey Tinsel Korey 02 web Tinsel Korey Visits LaPush and Neah Bay School

New Moon actress Tinsel Korey (aka Emily, Sam’s Fiancee) recently visited LaPush and Neah Bay school to speak to the Mekah children -

Tinsel Korey, the beautiful girl who plays the Makah character Emily in the upcoming “Twilight” series movie “New Moon” came to share her experience with Makah children on Thursday, Sept. 9 in the Neah Bay school gymnasium.
Korey is one of the Anishinaabe people, of the Great Lakes region. She was accompanied by her publicist, Jackie Jacobs, a Lumbee from North Carolina, and the Navajo photographer and videographer, Yazzie, who was documenting her tour of local tribal areas and towns associated with the book series.
Yazzie had also auditioned for the movie, in answer to a casting call that asked for “native Americans.” Korey herself doesn’t look like a Makah, but in a movie industry where native peoples have been played by everyone from Germans to Italians – and sometimes still are – the fact that the native characters are natives of any sort is a major step forward.

On a leg of the tour to the West End, Korey visited the Quileute village at LaPush. She soon realized that many of the tourists who were walking on Rialto beach, right beside the town, thought that the Quilleute nation was an imaginary invention of the Twilight series author, Stephenie Meyer.

Korey decided readers outside tribal society needed to know that the Quilleute are real people, with their own emotions and culture.

Korey said, “I was taught by my grandparents and ancestors we have a responsibility to share our gifts with our youth.”

edward cullen bella swan new Moon still New Moon Still Edward and Bella Out for a Walk?

The Spanish version of the official New Moon website – LaSagaCrepusculo.com has pretty much the same images/options (the layout is a tad bit different) as the English version of the site. Except for the above image.

Any thoughts as to what part of New Moon this is? Your guess is as good as mine!

In a new interview with MTV Anna Kendrick (aka Jessica Stanley) says that even though there may be a few changes here and there, New Moon is still faithful to the book -

“The things about playing one of the human characters and the non-supernatural characters in the ‘Twilight’ series is we have a lot more liberty to make it our own and change things,” Anna said. “People don’t have that attachment that they do to the myth — the world — Stephenie Meyer created in terms of the supernatural aspect.”

We’re having fun and we’re being faithful to the book but, a few changes,” Anna added. “But I hope that they’re fun.”

If you are not in the US and can’t see the video above – check out the rest of the interview here!

new moon premiere new moon news newmoon050509 280x204 Coincidence? New Moon to Premiere During a new moon, and Eclipse during an eclipse The Twilight Examiner (aka Amanda Bell) has an interesting article in regards to the New Moon premiere date and the Eclipse release date -

On November 16th, the stars of The Twilight Saga: New Moon will line up in Los Angeles for the official premiere of the film.

The heavens, it seems, will also be lining up on that date as well. One Twitterer made an interesting connection between the date of New Moon‘s offiical premiere and the lunar calendar.

November 16th will also be the date of a legitimate new moon according to the lunar phase calendar.

Clever? Methinks so.

Moving right along, it seems that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse could be subject to a similar coincidence. The Twitterer’s research proves correct in that on June 26th (four days before the release of Eclipse), a partial lunar eclipse will occur (with the next eclipse, a total eclipse, not due until December 21, 2010). If, like with New Moon‘s premiere, Eclipse‘s premiere takes place four days before the film’s release, Eclipse will premiere during an eclipse, and New Moon will have premiered during a new moon.

Ahhh .. I tend to agree – clever marketing indeed!

new moon tickets new moon poster2 692x10241 280x414 New Moon Tickets Selling Out at Some Locations! We previously reported that some locations in the US are already selling advanced tickets to Midnight New Moon showings. According to Reuters.com a lot of those locations are selling out already -

Advanced tickets sales for Summit Entertainment’s sequel vampire romance “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” are going so well that online ticket vendors are reporting sellouts of the earliest showtimes at many locations. Nine weeks before the film’s November 20 release, MovieTickets is reporting more than a dozen “New Moon” performances as complete sellouts.

A Fandango spokesman said “New Moon” represents 57 percent of its recent ticket sales, with sellouts at some locations. By comparison, the coming weekend’s anticipated No. 1 picture — Sony’s 3D animated feature “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” — is the next most popular choice of purchasers at 9 percent of all Fandango sales.

Wow! To be honest, I’m really not surprised! Haven’t heard of tickets going on sale yet any where else. Anyone hear of any locations in Canada yet? Or in the UK? Any where else at all? If so, send them to the TwiTipLine at gmail dot com!

twilight alice cullen alicefromtwilight hi Alice Cullen Inspired Halloween Costume

First we seen Nighttime Romeo’s Wig and now you can be Alice Cullen for Halloween! Not exactly something Alice would wear. However, I don’t think anyone BUT Stephenie Meyer could get that right!

The costume is available from Hot Topic. Here is their description -

When you look into the future, what do you see? Why… it’s you… dressed as Alice this All Hallows’ Eve! To start your transformation, pick up Tripp’s Black Lace Cap Sleeve Corset Top. Black Pull-On Jeans are the next step in your transformation from human to vamp. Oh, and Alice would just love these Black Double Strap Mary Janes, so don’t forget those. Now go save Bella before you’re late to the Halloween party!

Oh.My.Alice.

If you would like to have your own Alice costume – order it here!

[Thanks, Ashley!]
