BUT after everything happens, he gets a serious wake-up call and realizes that he doesn't know everything, and he's really humbled. He realizes (in Eclipse) that in his absence, Jacob was the one to be there for Bella, and that there could be a possiblity that Bella could have chosen to be with him instead. Of course we know who she chooses, but after Edward realizes that in Eclipse, we get to see how selfless and understanding he is. I definately started to like Edward more after this happens, because he's more human and relatable.
