These are all FAN voted award… not academies. They're not looking for certified grade A movies, they're looking for which had more fans in which category. Twilight has more loyal fans than most of those other movies. It's not overrated just because a lot of people like the movie, or are really devoted to the books. Trust me, I'm not expecting ANY oscars or anything. (I think most of us KNOW better lol)

.. and how can you not be a fan of the “movies” when there has only been ONE movie released. I'm pretty sure you haven't seen New Moon yet. Although, I could understand Twilight not being liked by all of the books readers. I'm not ignorant lol.

fan awards.. not academy awards. These award shows are always a popularity vote! You can't deny that. Therefore, twilight does deserve them, they have more fans for those categories. That's all. These others have better chances at academy voted award shows.. twilight has none.. I can admit that.

Transformers wasn't any where as good as the first. The only thing it has going for itself is the action and special effects.
Wolverine on the other hand.. WAS amazing.

I voted a lot for Transformers, XMen Origins (HUGH!!!), and Terminator (Arnold – best cameo!!!!). The CGI was truly brilliant and I went back to theater multiple times for those. I only saw Twilight once (not that it did not get the best votes from me) BUT fight to the death scene (*swoon*) there were some good choices!

Exactly…Taylor doesn't deserve anything fro Twiligth and during Twilight promotion and premiere no one payed any attention to him, and he was on set for three days. Only when the talk about recasting him for NM started people noticed him.
If anyone worked his a$$ of for promoting Twilight it was Rob. When I remember the mall tour I just feel sick. He practically spent a year promoting and working on Twilight.

He stayed in the saga because he managed to persuade them to keep him. Rob did a break through with Twilight. Taylor started getting noticed when there was all that fuss about him being replaced.
I am remembering how it was during Twiligth promotion and premiere…if we are thinking who did the most work for Twilight.
I'm not preventing him to win, if people vote for him he'll win, I just don't go by that logic that Rob is nominated for two and that's why he should win one. I am thinking more in who deserved it.

i see breakthrough as in making it in the big time and breaking into the indusrt and HP is BIG. bigger than twilight. and he was noticed..quite a bit from HP fans not as much as now of course but like i said because he didnt have a big role. but it was because of his looks. yes he had a small role and then disappeared for a while. i know that but thats now how i or others see it.

well tay is being noticed now and his breakthrough role is essentiall twilight and new moon isn't even out yet. and tay promoted that movie quite a lot as well. even joined rob and kristen in japan.

Taylor working out and fighting for his role in NM has nothing to do with his role in Twilight, media didn't pay any attention to him then. He was non existant. Maybe Jacob fans can say but I did notice him…well most people didn't, most media didn't. That's what this is all about.
A role that made him noticed. He didn't break through in Twilight so he can't deserve this as much as Rob. He was noticed a lot later by the media when as I said recasting rumors started and when he got his role for New Moon and general promotion of him as Jacob.
What could've been with Rob's role has nothing to do with a break through role or that fans didn't like him when he was cast.
I didn't mention what happened before, I'm just refering what happened with Twilight.
I support them both for what they deserve. I voted for Taylor fo TCA for example.

Taylor joined them in Japan because Summit started pumping him for Jacob, for NM. NM promotion started then.
Of course he did promotion for Twilight, all of them did…but not as close as Rob and Kristen did.

Just because he wasn't put in the spotlight last time by discus does not mean that that what he did was any less than what any other actor did. The difference that you are talking about is the fact that Rob signed his life away in blood for the role. Those promotions are all part of their CONTRACTS. A breakthrough actor is someone who's career is launched by the role in the movie.

Robert Patterson got that in HP – that's where I started following him and I do not even like the kid. Maybe not the mall raging that you are discussing – but his break through role was the short film time he saw in that movie. That was how Catherine found him. Taylor's is the role of Jacob which was in TWILIGHT not New Moon.

I say no, break through role is the role when people notice you. Taylor had a luck that Jacob as a character is more prominet in NM and that's why people started talking about him months after Twilight.

These are not the rolls they are best know for – but the one's that got them noticed AND AGAIN I QUOTE “contributed significantly to the development of their career”. AGAIN for Rob it was Harry Potter and for Taylor it is the Twilight series. I maintain that Catherine NEVER would have hired Rob if it hadn't been the POTENTIAL she saw him in Harry Potter – that was his BREAK THROUGH. TAYLOR's POTENTIAL shown in TWILIGHT – if he had done a truly crapy job nothing he did would have gained him the reprisal of the role – look what happened to the other two Native's in Twilight, fired and replaced.

Yes, both Eastwood and Connery after those roles became big, that didn't happen to Rob…or maybe you think that it doesn't matter if you're getting denied for roles for years after your “breakthrough” role. Both of them worked constantly al least right after their break trhough roles.

BTW talk shows are filmed way in advance. So they don't necessarily know know if it will still be in favor or not. They often pull 'upcoming' if it doesn't work due to the politics of the situation.

OK – you are really nieve about this business. Actors do not and never have had the final say in who they act with. Do you like Patrick Swayze? Did you like Dirty Dancing? Do you think Patrick liked Jennifer Gray or that she liked him? NEITHER ONE COULD STAND THE OTHER. They had worked on Red Dawn together and disliked each other. Patrick openly admits when it was announced who he would be playing opposite of he did not think the movie would do well. They are both excellent actors who were able to pull off very credible jobs of attraction.

Actors, if they want the jobs do what they are told and act. If they are TOLD to say 'I liked him and we clicked' they do. They want to sell the movie. That's how they make their movie. They all get royalty checks for the DVD's selling too.

I one hundred percent believe that all interviews are scripted. The things I see that I believe are REAL are things like Peter F using his fame to raise $ for charity (he matches the $ raised) and encourages people to donate blood. Kellan meeting and greeting fans out and about in his daily life (something Taylor did but Kristen and Rob hide from).

And please don't give me the their shy crap. If you are an actor – fans are part and parcel. If you want to become a huge famous actor (which they both clearly want) then man up and deal kindly to your fans because with out them – no ticket sales – no $ – no acting. And I truly believe everyone who continues to like those 2 and act like rabid fans deserve what they are dealt by the body guards. Yes, I have seen them on RARE occasion behave nicely to their fans (see H2b'S account of meeting Rob as exhibit A) – but it is rare and those FAN moments (hiding, running away, constantly dodging) are what reinforces my beliefs that everything they do is scripted. Rob dealt with fans a lot, there are tons of pictures with him and the fans and tons of fan encounters. They are NOT RARE. During NM filming when ever they were out they were fans around and they greeted them if they asked for a pic or what ever.
Taylor doesn't stop every time now either, he started hiding from paps too, and when his popularity gets bigger I doubt he'll continue to do so in this amount. kristen doesn't want fame but maybe some amount of recognition in terms that she can actually play in something she wants. but really how many people you know notice only kristens stuttering (and really she shows that she really digs the whole twilight saga ,cause she deffended it not being shallow way better then rob and Taylor which just simply says 'thanks' to the fans every time) and robsten moments when they show at twicons. I saw videos that people really shout 'Rob are you sleeping with Kristen?' or 'Kristen are you fukking Pattinson?'. As for the rest I stand by it as true. I gave you the textbook definition of a word and you chose to argue the fact. When you didn't win that you gave up and moved on.

BTW I have never said that that Rob and Kris should hide their relationship, if they have one (and if they do I hope for their sake they get to enjoy it with rabid fans putting them under a microscope and discussing their every date). I said they are under contract and that contract may say act like you are in a relationship or act like you are not.

These actors are like a professional sports player. they are only allowed the privacy granted in their contracts. What the contract says goes for their every public (anything outside of the privacy of their own homes – this does include computer chats, twitter etc in the outside statement) move. And until their contracts are filled they are puppets in every public (like going out to dinner – or a Kings of Leon concert) as it reflects on the movie the contract is for (this is not limited just to filming – but the whole sha-bang usually past release dates).

cos although none of them were uber famous they got their start in other roles too. taylor was barely noticed and just a kid in sharkboy and that movie flopped big time. and cheaper by the dozen 2 wasnt that great of a movie. his breakout was twilight. and rob's was HP and kristen's was panic room.

a lot of fans did notice taylor before the recasting started and the media did as well, he promoted and worked for twilight as well. only the recasting just upped his fame more. sure, he had a small part but he was important for the plot in twilight as well.

besides this isnt the oscars but a fan-oriented awards show and tayor deserves it cos he worked hard for twilight and did his research and worked even harder after it so me and others even some rob fans will show him support. he LOVES jacob is PASSIONATE about his role, the fans, and the books. and THAT right there is why he deserves it.

i voted for rob as best actor and taylor as breakout. rob has already won enough awards. taylor deserves his awards that he's nominated for as well.

People always repeat Rob won a lot awards, yeah because he was a leading man of Twilight, he was a star of that movie…now when NM comes out we'll have over a year later with award that most likely Taylor will get. However, my point to her was responses to questions (Are you dating Kristen) are scripted and usually under contract. You mean Little ashes and How to be? There wasn't three movies. Those are low budget indie movies that wouldn't even be recognized if Rob wasnt't in Twilight. How to be waited for almost two years to be released. There was a question about Little ashes if it was EVER going to be released, it was all because they saw a chance and people were interested because of Twilight.
No one of us would seen them. You can be a in a lead role without a break thought role. They would never get an US distributor if it wasn't for his sudden fame, no one would care.
Now not enough time has passed for Rob to land leading roles in big movies and already film them. He had offers during Twilight promo but he didn't like the scripts…only NOW he is getting major Hollywood roles and slowly he is filming those movies.

And yes, DIRECTORS and PRODUCERS and BIG companies like MGM, as well as well educated people watch those. Don't you ever go to film festivals? It is where a lot of actors get big breaks.

According to you – he landed those roles because of Twilight? No. They were filmed and released at the same general times. AFTER Harry Potter. Thanks to Harry Potter he was able to land roles (even if according to you they were inconsequential) that caused producers, etc to be aware of him and be more willing to take a risk with a 'new' actor – Catherine was aware of him and had him in mind for a role in Twilight because of those same reasons.
