25106635-25106639-largeNew Moon director Chris Weitz was recently interviewed by the Hollywood Reporter. The interview is very detailed, they leave nothing untouched. Even a Breaking Dawn mention (#ChrisWeitz4BD!!) and even touches base on Rachelle LeFevre being recast in Eclipse -

The Hollywood Reporter: Why did you want to do a “Twilight” movie?

Chris Weitz: The tonality of the movie, which has a lot to do with heartbreak and longing, depression and reunion and ecstasy — these were emotions that struck a chord in me. I really loved the cast; Kristen (Stewart) and Rob (Pattinson) both are exceptionally talented. And I wanted to get my hand back in the game. There were a lot of things in this movie that I knew how to do: A combination of telling a character-based story but also handling special effects and working with young actors.

THR: How much did you interact with Stephenie Meyer?

Weitz: A lot; we’ve had a real good collaboration. Crucially, she approved me as director, and she didn’t have to. We had some discussions that were very important — my convincing her that I didn’t want to take her baby and run away with it, or tell a story that was counter to the spirit of what she was trying to tell. I see myself, in the last few movies I’ve done, as adapting literary properties into film, so that’s how I treated this one. We got along like a house on fire.

THR: What kind of suggestions did she give you?

Weitz: It would normally be me e-mailing her and running things by her when I felt I was on the edge of getting a detail wrong, everything from the powers of a given vampire to the look of a particular scene or what she imaged a location looked like. And sometimes, when I felt that I was creating something new within the framework she had set up, making sure she was aware of it and that it didn’t make her sick.

THR: For example?

Weitz: A good example is the headquarters of the Volturi. The oldest vampire family lives in Italy, and it was important to me there be nothing in their surroundings that reeked of any other vampire movie. So the interiors are done in a very classic Renaissance style and are very crisp and very bright, which you would not normally expect from a vampire movie.’

Alex-MerazVanity Fair has a new interview with New Moon wolf Alex Meraz (aka Paul). In the new interview Alex talks all things New Moon, and bonding time with his pack mates (awww .. soo cute!) -

Little Gold Men: How did you end up getting cast in New Moon?

Alex Meraz: It was pretty conventional. I got a breakdown for an open casting call—they were looking for Native actors—and I submitted my stuff and luckily I got a role. One of the casting directors was kind of the Native American liaison. I had been cast in another one of her films. I sent her my original casting tape. She liked it, but she thought we could do better. So she brought me in to L.A., I gave it a whirl, and I eventually got the role.

What was your favorite scene to shoot?

The cliff diving scene was the most fun because the whole Wolf Pack was there and we were jumping off these 50-foot scaffolding things onto an air mattress. It was pretty exciting to be able to do our own stunts.

What was it like having to come together and bond as the Wolf Pack?

We were entirely new, and it was a lot easier. We relied on each other to get through everything. There was so much to learn, but it was organic. We spent a lot of time together at the gym, and that’s what helped. As far as the original cast from Twilight, they were really cool. We didn’t spend much time with them because all of our scenes were really just with the Wolf Pack. It was easy.

Check out what Alex thinks of some of his cast mates after the break!

New Moon cast members Robert Pattinson (aka Edward Cullen), Kristen Stewart (aka Bella Swan), and Taylor Lautner (aka Jacob Black) will appear on Live! With Regis and Kelly! The shows will air on November 18th, 19th, and 20th!

No other details have been released as of yet. I’m assuming that they are each appearing individually on separate days? Hence the 3 different air dates.

We’ve got a busy few weeks a head of us! :D

The school of RPATTZ'

And it isn’t a school on how to get over Robert Pattinson, or  how to be Robert Pattinson. It is an actual school in the UK! Its a College specializing in Sexiness Language, Hotness Science, ShamWows Mathematics!

In all seriousness guys, it is a real school. That is their real name. And it has nothing to do with the Twilight Saga’s Robert Pattinson! Just a mere coincidence! And no, Rob does not teach there! Sorry! lol

UPDATE: ROBSessedBlog said that this school used to be the #1 Google Search when you searched “Robert Pattinson” oh what a difference a year makes! lol

Check out their site here!

Jackson RathboneIn a new interview with New Moon’s paper cut hatin’ Vampire Jackson Rathbone (aka Jasper Hale) he talks about the absence of the Cullen’s in New Moon, and the fact that he is only in two scenes -

“I only shot for three weeks, and out of those three weeks that I was [in Vancouver] I think I actually filmed four days,” Jackson said. “So, I mean, I’m not so much in ‘New Moon.’ ”

Since Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen departs early in the book, he is largely absent, and the rest of the Cullens aren’t seen until the end of the story either.

“It’s one of those things where we want to follow as closely to the books as possible,” Rathbone said. “In ‘New Moon,’ you don’t see that much of the Cullens. You really don’t. So there’s not too much of us in there.”

Rathbone said he will only be in two scenes in the film. The first, as seen in the original trailer, involves him attacking Bella at her birthday party when she gets a paper cut. The second, he said, centers on a family vote to decide whether Bella gets turned into a vampire or not.

He also said fans shouldn’t worry about not getting enough Edward. As has already been announced and shown in the newest trailer, Bella has hallucinations about Edward, allowing Pattinson more screen time.

“I’ve heard people are concerned about Edward and the Cullens not being in the film, but Edward is very prominent in the film, especially in Bella’s mind. The way that [director] Chris Weitz worked it out is beautiful, and I think that people are going to love it,” Rathbone said.

Bring on Eclipse! :D We need more Jasper!

wolfbeforeafter

From fuzzy and cuddly, to mean and down right angry, Jacob Black has gone through even more changes since becoming a wolf. As you can see by the image above, the first Jacob Wolf is soft, fluffy, not so mean. That has been the Jacob Wolf we have seen up until today!

They made him meaner, bigger, and just plain awesome! I love the difference. Once again this proves that Chris Weitz is truly awesome!

Thank you to NewMoonMovie.org reader Molly for sending in the comparisons!
