3047034090_bf2d99f960MTV has a new interview with New Moon-er Jackson Rathbone (aka Jasper Hale). In the new interview he tells MTV how impressed he is with his fellow co-star Taylor Lautner (aka Jacob Black) -

“Nikki Reed keeps telling everybody, and I think it’s true, yeah, [Lautner's] got his shirt off, and he looks good with his shirt off, but you look at those eyes. You really do,” he told MTV News when we caught up with him on the set of his indie film, “Girlfriend.”

Rathbone admitted to watching a fan’s video reaction to the first trailer, in which we see a shirtless Lautner transform into a wolf for the first time. “You can’t hear the rest of the [trailer] because it’s just screams and screams. I think they were happy screams,” Rathbone joked.

But looks aren’t all the 17-year-old actor has going for him. Rathbone said Lautner’s performance in the film was enough to sway half the cast and crew over to Team Jacob. Rathbone, who plays vampire Jasper Hale, didn’t want to disclose his allegiance, though he hinted, “I’m all for my brother.”

The growing relationship between Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Jacob is a pivotal part of “New Moon.” And though Edward’s role has been beefed up despite his physical absence from much of the story, Lautner had big shoes to fill as he stepped into the leading man role.

“Taylor Lautner really stands out in this film, and I think people are going to be really blown away by his performance,” Rathbone said. “You have these great moments that Jacob just completely is winning over Bella. And it’s just beautiful to see it. It’s all in their eyes.”

I’m looking forward to Taylor’s performance in New Moon. I loved Jacob Black in the book (pre-transformation)!

211009NHZGBTAYLOR21_300x200New Moon-er Bronson Pelletier (aka Jared) has officially brought tears to my eyes. He recently spent time with 13 year-old Taylor Harris, who is suffering from Leukemia.

The New Zealand Herald reports -

Taylor Harris, who is suffering from leukaemia, met actor Bronson Pelletier from soon-to-be-released Twilight: New Moon at the Rendezvous Hotel in a meeting organised by charities and Hoyts Cinemas.

Taylor was in awe at meeting her favourite character in the vampire romance series, the wildest of a pack of wolves.

“I’m kind of, like, star-struck,” she said.

She had been left speechless the previous day when she found out about the meeting, she said.

According to Taylor, her mother Jacqui had also perked up in preparation for the meeting with the wild wolf, finding shirtless photos of Pelletier on Google.

Mrs Harris said the meeting had been the highlight of an otherwise grim year for Taylor.

“It’s the most animated I’ve seen her since her diagnosis. She didn’t quite know what to say. She was beside herself.”

Taylor had been diagnosed with leukaemia early this year and began bi-weekly chemotherapy treatments at the end of May.

The treatments had been taking a toll on Taylor, Mrs Harris said.

“She’s had her moments. After chemo she feels sick and very tired. There’s not a lot to look forward to. It’s one week of chemo, one week off. Sometimes she doesn’t ever feel well for a while.”

New interview with New Moon villain Charlie Bewley (aka Demetri). In the videos Charlie discusses his dating status, filming New Moon, and Rob and Kristen!

{ Comments }

robert-pattinson-gqTotalFilm.com had the chance to sit down and interview New Moon’s hottest vampire Robert Pattinson (aka Edward Cullen) recently -

How was it reuniting with Kristen Stewart for New Moon?

“There’s a natural chemistry going on with Kristen. Even doing this sequel, it’s so easy…

I was really worried that I wouldn’t know how to do it again, but it’s so easy to play off her.

She always says that she pretty much got me the part – though I don’t really believe her!”

What sort of arc does Edward go through this time?

“He’s always talking in the first one. “I need to make the right decision. I need to do stuff for you, for you, for you.” And he makes a decisive move, which is to leave her, and he completely believes it’s for her own good.

But in his heart, he obviously realises it’s completely wrong. And it takes him the whole movie to realise the profundity of his mistake. So that’s what his arc his.

The world forces him to realise he needs to be with Bella, and there’s no way around it”

Do you feel trapped in a Twilight box?

“Not really. I guess I have no choice right now – because I’m contracted to do them. But they’re all going to be done quite quick.

I’ll have done three of the four by October of this year, then I’ll only have one more to do.”

Have you talked to Daniel Radcliffe about this sudden fame?

“I haven’t talked to him in a while. I guess you try and stay Zen about it. You have to just learn to accept it.

I guess the whole thing is, you don’t want to wake up one day and realise you’ve turned into someone who you weren’t before and it wasn’t your choice.

That’s the only scary thing. It’s always really up to you. Most of the time, you can control it to a degree.”

What are the positives?

“Some of my friends who I grew up with are musicians and they’re involved with the Twilight soundtrack. It’s amazing what’s happened to them.

They’re doing tours of America and selling out every single show. It’s insane what you can do with that connection.

The Twilight fans are like… I don’t even think ‘devoted’ is the right word. They’re fanatical.”

What about all this stuff on the internet, all the gossip about you…

“I don’t really care. Everybody in my life knows what’s real and what isn’t. Apart from my mother, who seems to believe every negative thing that’s written about me!

She’s like, “I can’t believe you did this!” I’m like, “I didn’t!” And she’s like, “Yes, you did, I know you did!”"

What did your mum tick you off about?

“It was about swearing! I said, “I wasn’t even in the city” and she was, “I bet you did say that!”
She’ll literally believe a gossip magazine over her own son.”

Dear Rob’s Mom: Please don’t believe anything you read in those ‘rags’. Thanks!

The TeamsMTV has an interesting article in regards to a survey that Fandango has for users to fill out when purchasing their New Moon tickets.  They recently caught up with Fandango spokesperson Harry Medved. Here is what he had to say about the survey conducted -

2,500 recent “New Moon” ticket-buyers surveyed, an astounding 96 percent had read the novel — and 94 percent had read the entire series. But the tale gets even more interesting when you realize that 68 percent of the ticket-buyers weren’t aware of the “Twilight” franchise until the first film was released in November 2008. So, in essence, only 32 percent of the fans who have bought “New Moon” tickets have been “Twilight” fans for longer than 12 months. The next question on the survey (which would pop up after a fan purchased a “New Moon” ticket on Fandango) revolved around series newcomer Chris Weitz, who initially faced harsh criticism from the fanbase when he was chosen to replace “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke. Asked if they had faith the “Golden Compass” filmmaker would do a good job with “New Moon,” 95 percent of Twilighters answered positively.

A big part of that turnaround, it would seem, is the commonly held belief among Twilighters that Weitz will do a better job with the action scenes than his predecessor would have. Indeed, 93 percent of all buyers had watched the “New Moon” trailers online, with 77 percent saying the action scenes were a main draw and 98 percent (!) saying the action glimpsed in “New Moon” looked better than “Twilight.”

Fifty-three percent of Twilighters surveyed plan to see the first “New Moon” show at midnight; 26 percent will see it at a different time opening day; and 21 percent will see it during opening week or thereafter. Out of that crowd, 79 percent are making plans to bring three or more friends.

Lastly, Fandango even has stats on the Team Edward vs. Team Jacob rivalry — and, well, it’s not looking pretty for Taylor Lautner. Although “New Moon” will feature far more screen time for Jacob Black, only 17 percent of ticket-buyers said they’d choose him, while 83 percent are Team Edward.

“I’m personally bummed that Jacob doesn’t get more respect from the fans,” Medved laughed. “He’s a nice guy, and he deserves better.”

USA Weekend has an awesome new article about Our Love Affair With Vampires. In the article they detail on the Vampire Craze over the years.

Oh, did I forget to mention that they also have a new interview with Robert Pattinson? :D Check out the interview below  -

To get a modern image of a vampire, Pattinson initially watched movies such as “Interview With the Vampire” and “Blade.” But he really discovered who Edward was by researching outcast roles not involving the undead. “Rebel Without a Cause was a big influence on the first ["Twilight" film] — it influenced the hairdo and stuff,” Pattinson says, laughing. “In lots of ways, it has a very similar character arc: An everyday girl brings this relatively strange individual out of his slump.”

A James Dean type — that is, Pattinson — always attracts teenage girls in flocks. “It’s like The Birds, with teenage girls,” says “New Moon” director Chris Weitz. “You turn around, and there would be a line of girls standing there.”

Pattinson, 23, a native of London, takes all the swooning over his lanky, 6-foot-tall frame and wildly styled hair in stride. “I’m not entirely sure what it is,” he says. “I’ll probably realize afterward how I could have controlled it a little bit more. But I am still like a deer in headlights.”

And there’s the fact that many haven’t yet separated Pattinson the actor from Edward the vampire. “Right at the beginning, everyone just called me Edward,” he says. “I don’t really mind either way. There’s something about that character that, for some reason, has sparked an interest in massive degrees in so many different people.

“If you want to compete with your own character, you have to really fight. I don’t know if I could be bothered to fight,” he says, chuckling again. “I just let it go by.”
