That is EXACTLY what I was thinking. Now the punch and resulting cast etc won't work in Eclipse... silly summit didn't think ahead!

Chris Weitz either just screwed David Slade out of one of the best scenes in Eclipse (where Bella punches Jacob and breaks here hand and then the Edward/Jacob verbal sparring that occurs after that at Bella's house). I hope David Slade just decides to keep that scene and make it inconsistent that punching werewolves doesn't break your hand in NM but may in Eclipse.

But doesn't she SLAP Paul as opposed to punching him? Yeah, it would smart, but not break your fingers... that's the theory I'm going with.

I believe in Eclipse she pulled back and punched Jake as hard as she could. In this clip it looks like just a slap, no big deal to me...I am going to the midnight show CANT WAIT!!!

I like to think that is because Paul saw what was comming, while Jacob had his eyes closed... and well.. Bella slaps Paul, but punches Jacob..

Ok, I said my peace about this last night. There were like three of us on here all excited about the changes to Jacob's wolf and no one to share it with.

CW has apparently been listening to the fans. The wolf looks incredible. more ferocious and scary looking in the face.

Also, Paul cracks me up.

And Kristen's acting has greatly improved.

And Chaske is really hot.

Did you hear about her crying in a car before the break up scene because she knew that she had to get it right for the fans? I simultaneously felt my heart break for her AND praised her for caring so much about getting Bella right.

I absolutely LOVE Kristen Stewart. I've been a fan of hers since Panic Room. I've always hated how people have put her down for her acting in Twilight. It's amazing what a good director can do. oh gosh.. i have done the same thing over and over.. before the trailers came out i kept telling my non-twilight friends "Trust me, it's gonna be awesome. they have a much bigger budget." and i was just secretly hoping that it really was going to be awesome... then the trailers came out and i was so happy to be like "SEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!" to everyone i know.. LOL

i really think it has changed some peoples minds about twilight and the whole saga, even if they won't admit it... i mean, i can get my boyfriend to watch the trailer with me, and he actually seems to somewhat enjoy it! i wouldn't be surprised if more fans come out of the woodwork after NM.. just wait. suddenly there will be tons of new people on this site! haha

LOL My hubby loves to give me crap about myTwilight addiction (and as he hasn't read the books he only has the movie to base his opinion on--unfortunately)... BUT after watching the NM trailer I was like you: "SEE? SEE? See how good it looks? It's going to be soo much better!!" He sort of (reluctantly) agreed but at least he couldn't give me crap about it because it IS good, LOL!!

Paul's eyes look light brown to me, Jacob's look green or lighter brown than Paul's eyes. It is the look of the eyes that stuck me, they look like their eyes. Good job with the CGI, I think.

umm who cares if she punched or slapped him? Who cares whether or not she hurts her hand... there are much more important things to the twilight saga than the condition of Bella's hand. I understand that she is supposed to hurt her hand when she punches Jake in Eclipse, but you dont have to hurt your hand every punch thrown... so it is perfectly fine and still fits with the story.

I'm just happy that a movie is being made, it is 100x better than twilight, and the acting actually looks believable.

haha thank you.. we all knew that the movie wasn't going to be 100% identical to the book. it never is. it's not really possible. but i personally think it's silly to get so upset over whether or not somebody's hand hurts or not. it has nothing to do with the actual plot of the story and simply is not significant in my opinion.

with that said, i think the action they have added to this movie (with the volturi parts especially) might actually make the movie BETTER than the book. and i love the book.

it made me sad to be so pumped about how good the clip looked only to find that some people were disappointed... :( but i guess you can't please everybody.. and we can all have our opinions... honestly i had forgotten about all the little details like who slaps who and who punches who and what book everything was in. guess i have some reading to do.. haha

I think it's great that they added more action with the wolfpack and the volturi....what you read and how that actually translates on screen are completely different. So far I love the changes and additions CW has made. I think it adds more to the story. I'm not getting all worked up about Bella's hand when there is SOO much that CW got right.

I just noticed something. A number of people were talking about Bella slapping Paul and how it should at least hurt. Well.... I just realized there's a slightly bigger issue there. When Bella punches Jake in the face in Eclipse, he doesn't react to it in the slightest... physically that is. Paul's head was flung to the side from her slap. The werewolves are supposed to be super strong, so her slap shouldn't have him moving in the slightest.

Maybe he wasn't reacting from the pain of the slap, but just the fact that she did it, and he is super conceited and didn't think she would do anything like that? Yes. If Melissa R had been consistent with Eclipse - Bella hitting Paul would have broken her hand (like she did with Jacob). I hope this doesn't mean she wrote out that scene in Eclipse!! Besides the leg hitch scene (which is a must), the aftermath of Bella hitting Jake is one of the best parts of Eclipse (Edward vs. Jacob insult war in front of her house - sets the whole tone for later on after the tent scene) and should be in that movie. Please David Slade - don't leave those scenes out just because Chris Weitz put a punch into his movie.

Ahem. Despite how amazing this clip is AND the CG, I have to say I'm quite bothered. Some of you have already voiced concerns over the slap/punch, Bella's lack of reaction to it and Paul's overreaction to it and what this means for Eclipse when Bella punches Jacob. Bigger than that, I thought that Sam was a bit out of character (someone else mentioned this) I would've expected him to phase, deliver his Alpha edict and stand between paul and Bella- you know, until Jake came along ;).
Some 'protectors'. I think you're right- maybe the screenwriter did have a little too much fun. But isn't SM closely involved?
Maybe we can chalk it up to the fact that we've only seen glimpses into NM and there's a possibility that they changed JUST enough to make it work and allow enough flow into Eclipse and we won't be too disappointed. You know- the whole book by the cover thing. Still, I don't like too much deviation from the original........
Regardless, it will still be the story on film. It will still be our fav men and women on screen. And you know that no matter what, we'll still all go and see it and experience the strange, yet familiar sexy, fanatsy, love high commonly associated with anything Twilight.

You're right about Paul's overreaction to Bella's punch, and Bella's lack thereof, but in the book, Sam doesn't phase until AFTER Jacob backs Paul into the woods (and Bella only sees him quivering, not the actual phasing) so unless M.R. wanted even more fan hatred directed at her, she couldn't touch that. It's a minor detail, nothing worth changing for cinematic value.

anyway--the thing i was most excited about was how much BETTER jake's CG wolf looks. i'd say paul's wolf looks much better now too, but it's just that we saw jake's wolf at the end of may, and to see how much more real they've made him look in that time (teeth, detailed fur, truly scary growling) makes me so happy.

i took a screen cap of them side by side and the difference is astonishing. he also doesn't look so red...but still russet. upgrade.

ps--if i slapped a marble statue, i probably wouldn't break my hand. if i punched it out of anger, yes.

Yeah, the teams are something that people take way too far. It's all in jest and having fun.

I know.. there was a nurse who works with that kind of .. people everyday and she said that it is very,very hard to portray a person with such disabilitys but when she saw the movie.. she feelt so much for Kristen, because It was like a reflection in the mirror.. And that a nurse who works with that kind of people and gets so touched by Kristens acting shows how good she is! And these kind of movies are really,really rare and she deserves something for her special acting, seriously.. so not a problem, anything for KStew, let's hope we succed=)

i am going to live in my old home. i use to live in Brussels for 2 years until i finished high school. so going back to the roots LOL. my parents stil live there so going to live with them for a while . it's going to be strange living with them again. diffrent lives already.

I know what you mean going back living with your parents again. When I was 17 yrs old I went to live with my sister for a while, since it was much closer to the school I went to back then. When I started studying at University my sister moved to a different town so I had to get back and live with my parents… It really took some time getting used to, cause I already spent so much time on my own, being independent and making my own choices, and you know when you live with your parents they tend to set the rules…
London will be the perfect place to go to… I really really hope for your sake some of the cast are going to be there.
You know what it’s like then, having an old dog… My dog turns 13 on January 1st. I love her to bits but she is somewhat of a burden, since we don’t get to go out anymore and do stuff we want to cause we have to take care of her and she can’t be home alone for a very long time.
Haha… I think I will glue my butt to the cinema seat with super glue, so when the usher comes to get me I can just shrug and say: No can’t do… unless you want me to take my pants off… And we don’t want indecent exposure now, do we?? I only take my pants off for Rob on a rug… LOL! Sorry… random…

I didn't find it boring at all. It was the same shot as the teaser trailer from the MTV Movie awards, true--almost, but with the complition of the CGI the wolves just kind of came to life for me! and the slap, it cracked so loudly I could almost feel it myself!

I just looked at the iTune New Moon Clip of the wolf's trasnformation. The scene looks great; however, I agree with a few posts above, when Bella slaps Pual you would think she would break her hand or get hurt in some way or another. Remember Bella is not strong and is very weak she constantly gets hurt and easily burse herself too. Who knows maybe the scene after that will show her hurt and burse but honestly that clip doesn't show her hurting in anyway.

The pack looks good especially Jocab. I can't wait to see the movie. I am definitely obsessed.

I was one of the haters who was upset about Bella not reacting to having hit Paul in the clip. At first I was absolutely beside myself over this but I calmed down after remembering some advice someone once gave not so long ago...

And as for the whole how come her hand didn't break when she hit Paul.... this is what I think - perhaps after Paul and Jacob settle the score we will see that Bella's hand is broken, or bruised or something, that way when she punched Jacob in Eclipse it makes sense that she broke it..... and since it is a slap instead of a punch perhaps that is the reason her hand didn't break..... now this is only a glimpse of the scene, so I think it is still possible that her hand could be hurt someway or another..... now if it isn't.... then perhaps in Eclipse there might be a scene that is like punching a werewolf can cause damage, but slapping doesn't? IDK though.... either way I am sure New Moon will be awesome! and I can't wait!

So, stupid question I know, but how EXCITED are you for the movie's official release.

I'm practically going INSANE over here, it feels like we've been waiting a lifetime.

I'm trying to get as much feedback as possible.

It's been really positive so far, which is a great feeling for me.

I take pride in my work, I've always been like that, but even more so when it comes to design.

Incase you were wondering, I'm a Product Design, Graphic & Animation graduate.

It's been something I've always been able to excel it, I'm not even sure the reason for it, I think it just comes down to my commitment & determination to be better everyday.

There may be a lot of things that I can't do that well, like everybody, but fortunately for me, design isn't one of them.

My aim is to eventually pursue a career over where you're in the states, probably California or Chicago, because apart from Tokyo they're like the design capitals.

It's also been my ambition to start a career in the US and settle down and have a new life.

I could really see myself living over there permanently. As soon as I can get things sorted here in the UK, the first thing I'm going to do is go over there and seriously look into pursuing a career in design and living over there permanently.

The only thing that's hard for me @ the moment, excluding family issues, is that I have a close relationship with my family, especially my sister who's 2 years older than me and I know it would be really hard for me to cut the ties.

I know, I'll have to do it, but it ain't going to be easy.

Wow. I found it on YouTube (just type in iTunes Jacob's Transformation and it's the first one) and it was sooo much better than the continuously interrupted version shown on ET!! And, yes, I think that because she slapped Paul, didn't punch, that she'd be fine. Ugh! Can't wait for the movie! I've never been so eager for spoilers before! They don't spoil them for me, they make me more excited! I mean, the movie will still be awesome, no matter how many tiny pieces of it I've seen...

Hmm This movie might be turning me more towards Team Jacob now...

Okay I have some insight...

I know alot of people are kind of freaking out at the fact that Bella doesnt break her hand in this new clip today.

However, I think it's possible that we don't necessarily know that.

She is probably so shocked by what is happening to Paul that no pain is even noticable yet.

Other theory... she did only slap him. SLapping and punching are totally different. Think about it... you can slap a rock, and your hand will glide over the surface and yes it will hurt, but then try punching the rock. Totally different story.

Stop worrying my friends. It's all going to be okay.

P.S. I love that we all pick out these little details. I think thats why the cast works as hard as they do :)
