I really don't appreciate that 'barf' comment, even if it is in jest. It's not called for and it isn't professional. (and no I don' t have a stick up my a$$) The other bloggers don't let their preferences show when they post because they appreciate ALL of the characters, regardless of which side of the fence they're on.

I totally agree with you about the whole "barf" thing, it doesn't have the nicest connotation. I'm sure she only meant it in a jesting way, but you're right, it's not the nicest thing to say. But, comparing other users to each other isn't the best either, so maybe we can all just remember to be a little more careful. Everyone loves everything about Twilight, even if they say they don't. Exactly. I didn't mean to compare them really. Their blogging styles are different, rightfully so, but what they have in common is respect for the saga and their fellow Twi-lovers. Regardless of who you like, or don't, respect that there are people who love everyone and don't necessarily appreciate the negativity that often accompanies opinions. It's fine if she states her opinion in the thread, who doesn't, but in the post itself...it's better to be P.C. Or Twi.C as it were.

If needed, clarify, expand or rephrase the question." If she is putting her opinion out there first, how is she facilitating conversation? Look at this post on Ch 5 as a perfect example of that.

So no she is not God, but a hostess and should act like one. Not an opinion a researched fact.

Researched facts are subjective, as research is intended to prove one's opinion. So it is a fact that Taylor gained thirty pounds for NM. But you can use that fact to say that Taylor's trainer did a fantastic job or that it was imperative for Taylor to gain that weight to keep his role. Facts can always be manipulated for one's own interests.

Concerning the "Barf," it was offensive to the wolf girls. But some of us found it refreshing for MrsEdwardCullen to have an opinion about this chapter. Others thought that it was funny. Some didn't care one way or another. But the majority thought that it was yet another example of how nmm.org was negative and an indication of how all the newbies were ruining the relaxed positive vibes that nmm.org used to have back in the day.

Now, opinion becomes fact when the majority, as well as the ones in power, accept it as fact. So, because the majority here on nmm.org believe that bloggers are to be like a neutral voice in a debate, it has become fact. I don't agree with that, and a minority of others don't either. Does that make us wrong then? I don't think so; because it's still an opinion.

But I don't run this site and I have to abide by the rules. I just want to make that clear.

Considering how nmm.org bloggers, the ones with power, have set this standard of being neutral, of course MrsEdwardCullen would have to follow suit because they've set the standard and everyone should follow suit. So, MrsEdwardCullen didn't follow the rules of blogging but I don't think she did a bad job as a leader of discussion. I think she facilitated conversation. I don't think she prevented anyone from feeling "like their opinions matter." She didn't say anyone who disagreed with her was an idiot. Not once.

Finally, this particular post about rereading NM is not from a news source . She was not reporting anything. The rereading NM series is supposed to be a discussion. And I do believe that MrsEdwardCullen facilitated conversation. It's just that people saw the "barf" and rather than discuss their differing opinion, MrsEdwardCullen was taught a lesson on blog etiquette.

And therein lies the problem. People need to take people's opinions and ideas for what they are rather than for something more. That "barf" should've ignored if people didn't like it they should've moved right along.

Don't appreciate it, either. You don't see those of us who PREFER Jacob saying such things about Edward.

I understand that Bella HAD to choose him, but they both had their good (or should I say GREAT) points. Jacob is WONDERFUL, and even if you don't think so, you need to be respectful of the Saga and those of us who love him (including Stephenie Meyer!!!!)

Going into her decision, Bella had NO IDEA that she wouldn't have to lose all the other things she held dear in her life, Charlie, Renee, Jacob, all her human friends and being a mom (though she didn't realize that at the time).
For any girl to abandon all of that for a guy, just isn't healthy. With Jacob she could have had the love and kept all the other things she held dear.

Lucky for her (and especially for Edward!), she chose him and got to keep EVERYTHING dear to her, and did not become a total monster.

(Good writing, SM! I know some people disagree, but I could not have respected Bella if she had to totally abandon Charlie, Renee and Jacob forever, when she loved them so much. All the different loves we have in our lives are important. Not just the romantic kind.)

I know many did not like the Reneesme developement, but it was necessary.
Jacob and Bella needed to be in each others lives in the RIGHT way and Jacob DESERVES his happiness!

I think you have a right to be upset, because it is that kind of comment that takes away the "nice feeling" the blog post should create.
Yes, bloggers get their own opinion, however, when they clearly insult or show disrespect towards a character, it goes beyond opinion.
They are bloggers. It is their job to post stories for others to read. Their job to ensure the stories are tasteful and appropriate.
And I see her "barf" as ruining the post. Creating a distasteful environment and basically showing me what she feels about Jacob Black, Stephenie Meyer for creating the character that deserves a "barf" and Jacob Black fans.

Voicing your opinion in the threads is fine. The threads are where we exchange ideas, opinions and thoughts. That's why we all comment here.

I would just recommend keeping the comments neutral in the blog posting. We all are licking wounds from previous battles in trying to overcome the negative pill that we've all had to swallow as of recent.

Being a blogger here calls for some diplomacy and neutrality. If you make a comment in the posting, you'll just put a bad taste in everyones mouth. So instead of commenting or talking about what the blog was intended for, i.e. chapter 5 of NM, we are instead discussing the perceived offensive word.

We all learn from our mistakes and trust me! I've made plenty in my life. Hopefully we can all learn from ours and others so we can grow and now move on.

I look forward in reading then commenting from your future posts.

Ahhaa, but it's nice to see personality in the posts.

That is personality I can do without. The other bloggers have lots of personality but they're very respectful. If TSH, a wolf girl, said something like that in reference to Edward, the vamp girls would tear her apart. But she wouldn't because even though she is a wolf girl, she sees something likable in the vamp characters as well. Hell, there's so much fence jumping lately, I'm starting to think the holes are permanent. Everyone has their fave wolf AND vamp characters.

I do find it funny (not like haha funny) that there are such divides in the Twicommunity. Like, the Twihaters and Twilovers divide and arguments are enough. Then, within the Twilovers, there are still divides going on between wolf girls and vamp girls. And guys, i guess :)

It's kinda sad. I'm a hippie at heart, I guess, and I just want the peace, love and respect that was rife on NMM when I started coming here to return. Everything these days seems to be all about 'my opinion' and it really bugs me to see all these self-righteous posters demanding respect for their opinions when they don't do the same for others. And they act like saying IMO or JMO makes their harsh comments okay.

The only comfort is knowing that my NMM Twitter girls are still the same. We disagree but it's usually in fun and there's never any Twi arguments on Twitter, thankfully. I guess they're usually too busy being pervs! lol

Agreed.... every character should be repsected even if you don't necessarily like them. The reason we love these books so much is the intensity that all the characters have including Jake. I'm Team Edward myself and honestly could not stand post-Wolf-transformation Jake for awhile. But, without that intensity that he has, we would not have as great a story. And without Jake, those of us vamp girls would not love Edward so much.

But her name pretty much states her 'side', that's the point. We know she's a vamp girl. I have no problem with that. LM is a vamp girl and I love her to pieces. But the 'barf' really is too much. There are many other ways of expressing your opinion without having to go THERE. Especially in light of the negativity that's been rampant on the boards of late (and I'm sure she knows about this even if she isn't a poster) which Will felt was so serious that he needed to appoint a million new moderators. If the bloggers do it, the commenters won't see any need to hold back and it's the overall need to let personal opinions be known that's been bringing down the site and causing all these arguments.

I agree, that is what a blog is for. We all love Twilight and we are not hating on it so that should make you happy. But, i think it is okay to show the preference. That's what makes the entire Twilight experience for me; choosing sides and arguing for that side. Even people that are Tean Switz have their favorites, depending on which chapter in which book.

I didn't find the comment to be rude. If it were a comment towards Edward, i would just argue that Edward is the better guy, not get so upset about it. Things such as that comment, is what made the whole Team Edward Team JAcob thing begin and people have the right to state which side of the fence they are on without someone getting upset, we are all Twilight obsessed at heart. Get mad at the Twihaters, the ones that think it's stupid that we love it so much and dislike both Edward and Jake and all the Vamps and Wolves.

No offense but I'm assuming that since you're a grey face (no avi) that you're still somewhat new here. If you had been around back in the day when things were more pleasant, then you would understand where I'm coming from. I'm not upset about her being a vamp girl. Obviously that would make me a hypocrite since I'm a wolf girl myself. She can say whatever she wants HERE, on the thread. But it isn't professional in an official capacity as a blogger to make negative comments. NMM isn't that kind of blog. We don't encourage Twi-hate/negativity but lately all the 'my opinions' have been making the site a very uncomfortable and unpleasant place to be. A lot of the older regs feel that way and some have actually left because the newer ones feel that having an opinion means you HAVE to share it with with the world and they're making the site a lot less fun place to be.

See, I'm not sure that I agree with your statement about us older regs... the ones who left did it because of the fighting that was going on. Not because of people sharing their opinions. There's a big difference. If I say I don't like something, we can have an amazing discussion and lively debate (with lots of humour in it!) We can all share our opinions and learn from each other. It's when people get hateful and mean and start bashing each other that it makes the site a less fun place to be, wouldn't you agree?

I'm not saying hers is. It isn't. But as a blogger, there are certain codes you need to follow, especially for a site like NMM which tries to maintain peace as much as is possible and it's become necessary of late to be cautious because there are so many people ready to go off at the slightest hint of what they perceive to be an insult, whether to them or their beloved characters. When she's in commenter mode, she can say anything she likes.

But the ones that try to beat you down and kill your babies if you disagree with them (sometimes they jump on you for simply stating your opinion, you don't necessarily need to reply to a comment of theirs) that's what I call the negative opinions.

You and your friends are really starting to get on my nerves. I don't have to lie about anything first off so i don't need you or anyone else to do a full background check on me. If you would of looked hard enough Ms I know everything and can look up everything, you would know that I was under a different name for a long time and didn't have an avi because i wasn't into it like that I just used to come to this site everyday, read the post, read the blogs and sometimes post my own thoughts, just never went back and forth with someone for damn near the entire day. I'm too hooked on Twilight FanFiction stories for that.

And lastly, just like you and anyone else on this site have a right to stake claim to whose side you are on, so can i. I never said anything bad about Jake because personally i like Jake, just not some of his choices, as well as Bella. But, i like Edward more so therefore I am Team Edward. Well, here is some facts - No one has to make a second account account to change their name. You simply edit it, like you can edit an Avy. So why didn't you do that? Because then you keep your ratings and the people you follow (If you follow anyone).

And if you bothered to read the through the whole post you would have seen my opinions. I littered them out to everyone because I had to work for 10 hours yesterday and didn't get on until late, so responding to other comments was the best way to do it.

The description of Bella’s nightmare truly is terrifying. The nothing that she describes really hits home to me. Something you experience that is so wonderful – and no way of even proving to yourself that it ever existed? Truly horrible.

In the truck, her description of the hole in her chest, a physical pain and reaction, really gets to me. “I felt my eyes fill with tears and the aching begin around the edges of the hole in my chest. I took one hand from the steering wheel and wrapped it around my torso to hold it in one piece.” – I love this image of her literally holding herself together. Very poignant and painful.

My favourite parts of her inner dialogue, that I hope they are able to translate to film successfully:

“…As if he’d never existed, I thought in despair. What a stupid and impossible promise to make! He could steal my pictures and reclaim his gifts, but that didn’t put things back the way they’d been before I’d met him. The physical evidence was the most insignificant part of the equation. I was changed, my insides altered almost past the point of recognition… As if he’d never existed? That was insanity. It was a promise that he could never keep, a promise that was broken as soon as he’d made it.”

To me, that sums it up. She is changed to the very core precisely BECAUSE he existed. So he cannot possibly put her back to the same condition she was before he met her. Her logic that she might feel better if she were “an oath-breaker, too” – twisted, but perfectly rational. It reminds me of cutting your nose off to spite your face. Truly, putting herself in danger isn’t doing anyone, including herself, any favours. But, even if he is not there to witness it, it is in direct opposition to his wishes. And it shows her contempt for his utterly unreasonable and impossible promise. And thus, we see Bella progress in her journey. In my mind, it seems as though she is no longer seeking numbness, but trying, in her own way, to retaliate – an angry reaction, if you will – an emotion that is safer to her than grief.

Jacob. I love Jacob in this chapter. He is so happy to have his friend back, and it shows. Their immediate comfort with each other speaks volumes of their friendship. The contrast between Bella’s episode in the truck, when thinking of Edward, and Jacob & Bella together – a very nice juxtaposition, and it really heightens the familiarity we feel for Jacob. SM played this very well, I think.

I did want to say this. I don't really even consider myself on a team anymore. I love all of the characters equally. I love them all at different points in the books, but yet they annoy the hale out of me in other parts of the books, including Bella, Edward, and Jacob. If they were all perfect all the time and never made any mistakes, then they would have no depth and no conflict in the story. Then no more books. End of story. I even include Renesme in this.

Every character, no matter how annoying they get from time to time, has a purpose in the storyline. Even Rosalie and Jessica. So, no matter whether some of you don't like New Moon because it is predominantly Edwardless and more from a Jacob/Bella POV, it is still crucial to the story.

Bella probably would have killed herself long before being able to save Edward if Jacob had not been there for her and drug her out of her depressing ridiculous stupor that she stayed in. So, let's give Jacob some credit, vamp girls.

Point One: I think the "barf" was out of line.

Point Two: I personally like this chapter b/c for as much as she said she "resurfaced" in chapter four, I don't think she really did until this chapter. Jacob gives her a life jacket & helps her stay above water. He's not like a rescue boat like Edward would be to get her out of this crazy churning ocean of despair & depression, but jacob gives her hope and a chance to breathe again. And before I get jumped on by people who will be quick to point out that she still had her "hole" and couldn't breathe when she thought about Edward, note that I said a *chance* to breathe again. He's doing his absolute best to make sure his friend gets better, even as he knows his best isn't going to fix things 100%. He gives *his* 100% just trying. And for that I give the boy mad props.

why would I be mad for a perfectly wonderful point? Yes, she still had the hole, but you hit the nail on the head. Jacob gives her HOPE. It's like I mentioned - SM does a wonderful job in running the complete spectrum in this chapter - you have the "hole in chest" in the truck, and then you have her pleasant discovery that she is enjoying herself and actually smiling again... how could we NOT love Jacob for that?

There is no valid reason for people to jump on you because you explained the situation for chapter 5 exactly what it is.

This, you may not agree with but I find her recovery a much more healthy route than having Edward come back right away. She needed this experience to move forward with Edward. I think people dismiss the crappy times in their lives but those are the learning blocks to oneself and I think from those experiences we learn the most and are able to *hopefully make better decisions for the future.

Yes, yes, yes. Jake is an awesome friend. And honestly, Bella is 100% to blame for him getting so close and so in love with her. She even saw it happening but was too selfish to pull away (and I do not blame her; after what she went through Jake was all that could help her feel any bit better). She did let him know she didn't love him that way, but Jake is a normal teenage boy. He fought for what he wanted. Wouldn't most of us do the same if it were us?

I really don't understand why people hate Jacob, he saved Bella's life while Edward was gone, he continued to protect her even agreeing to work with the Cullen's to protect her & the town from Victoria, he left his pack his home to protect Bella AGAIN!! Then he BROKE the treaty AGAIN by allowing Edward to turn her saving her life AGAIN. Jacob is a cool, loyal passionate friend & she loved him for that even The Cullen's loved him. I just don't get it

I don't personally hate Jacob. I did dislike him for awhile but after I re-read the series a few times I have grown to respect him. I think the problem that most people have with Jacob is because of Twilight. Twilight told such an awesome story allowing us to fall so in love with Edward that a lot of readers wanted so much for him to be back that they disliked anything (Jacob) that stood in the way of that. Without Jacob, we would not have the awesome story. I think the contrast between Edward and Jake make the story so much more vivid and great... fire and ice.... and that was so true.
And Jake was a typical teenage boy. He wanted Bella. He loved her and did everything he could to make her choose him. And a lot of readers I believe were kind of put off by Jake the way he treated Edward to win Bella over.
But seriously Jake was glutton for punishment with that girl. He kept getting beat down and then going back for more. I felt sorry for him for that.

When I read the book [Twilight}, I picture Edward as a totally different person [physically]. I picture Jacob as Taylor Lautner [but bigger] ;) and I picture Bella, as someone more [sweeter] than Kristen Stewart... I dont know why...(?).
When I read the book [Twilight], I soo fell in love with Edward. I especially loved the part [explained in the book -Twilight-] when Bella got sick from blood in their Biology class [the class Edward 'missed'} and she left and Edward carried her to the nurse's office.... *wow*... loved it!!!
Then I watched Twilight... and Edward was not how I pictured him to be, the movie like shredded the book and I wanted more Jacob!!!!

The only fault that I find in Rob as Edward is that he is not very athletic. From the book I pictured Edward as very athletic and very "in shape." Those things Rob really is not. Lol I cannot picture Robert Pattinson chasing a mountain lion for dinner. Although, the NM trailer does show some promise for a more athletic Edward this time around.

Ah, my favorite passage in Chapter 5 is at the very end:

"Only a teenage boy would agree to this: deceiving both our parents while repairing dangerous vehicles using money meant for my college education. He didn't see anything wrong with that picture. jacob was a gift from the gods."

I'm totally Team Edward, but these lines just made me happy and smile in a part of the book that's so sad.

Actually re-reading this made me remember that Jacob was the "sweet & innocent" guy before the transformation and before Bella really breaks his heart. Then he goes all moody and arrogant...and totally in need of a slap to the head in some future spots. lol

Pre Tranformation he didn't know what all the fuss his tribe was making about the cullens he just knew Edward had hurt her & he was pissed who wouldn't be after seeing the state she was in, but after he changed all the hate he already had for edward was turned into rage cause his life had been changed as well. I don't get it either. I'm a vamp girl, but I still have a soft spot for Jacob, especially pre-transformation. He welcomed Bella with open arms in CH 5, and knew everything about her, like how she hated music after Edward left, without even having to ask a single question about the situation. He was such a good friend and I feel bad for him because Bella was so selfish. The only reason she went to see him in the first place was because she needed a mechanic to fix the bikes. She should've went to him because he was just an amazing person.

The whole Eclipse love triangle is essentially all caused because of Bella's actions. And it started in Twilight. Remember how Bella was intentionally flirting with Jake at La Push just to find out what Edward really was? That's exactly where she made her first wrong move.

Without Bella's actions, there would be no story...but I do wish she didn't take advantage of Jacob's loyalty and friendship. And even though I hated when Jake manipulated Bella in Eclipse, I have to say he was just doing exactly what Bella had done to him.

Sorry so late on this reply... I agree, I also hear people say that Jacob knew & he choose to stick around TRUE but he wouldn't have been a good friend if he'd done that, he did try after he transformed & realized the truth about her & Edward but he didn't. Which is why I'm TEAM JACOB!!

I am on TEAM Book too because SM writes very well and the series flies by in 4 short books - much like Harry Potter and The House Of Night and Lord Of The Rings and Pride and Prejudice... (There are more but I love to read so it would take a long time...

i like that bella shows up to jacobs house so randomly, thinking jacob can fix the bikes then she can see edward, but how its kind of turned around on her when she is surprised by how pleased she actually is to see jacob, how his smile makes her wanna smile, type of stuff. it was like she kinda planned on just using him for his mechanic skills and it backfired on her.. heres this super sweet guy, who obviously likes her, and she can sooo easily fall for him too

i really like too how she shows up casually at his house, thinking its all cool and what not.. then later on in eclipse (i think) we find out that jacob actually noticed how she looked like absolute crap when she started coming around, cause she was so heartbroken, and she thought he wouldnt really notice, but he did the whole time

I agree. Jacob is so much more perceptive than Edward. I guess a century of relying on hearing thoughts will make you quite non-perceptive. Jake really sees Bella and knows her so well. And I love him for that.

Bella: I laughed humorlessly to myself, still gasping for air. Reckless in Forks– now there was a hopeless proposition.

When I first read New moon it had taken me 2 days to read it. Because I just kept on turning the pages until i saw his name. He had to come back. They are meant to be. Like Romeo and Juliet there names intwined.

I love Bella's sense of humor. Even when she's a devastated wreck it's still there.

I was reading Chapter 5 to hubby yesterday, he burst out laughing at that line... so ironic, yet sad at the same time...

I read all the way through, but I raced through it in about 4 hours. It would have taken me less, but I had this little problem with having to continually replace my kleenex supply... ;)

I love pre-transformation Jacob. He's just so cute, and sweet and I love him. I love his reaction to Bella telling him he can have the Harley... "swee-eet!"

I know right!!!! I loved his sweet self too but when he turned into a wolf.....he started being mean....and well ofcourse started hating the Cullens for turning him into a wolf... :(

YESSSS! One of my favorite things in the whole series is in Breaking Dawn when Edward calls Jacob "my son." I cry everytime I read that. Ok more like sob. They finally all get along and really love each other. One big happy family. Those parts in the middle where they hate each other really just break my heart. And poor Bella in the middle... ugghh... of course she put herself there but still... ugghh

Edaward is just soo good and tried to get along with Jake for Bella! I know poor Bella..but for me i think she deserved it! She hurt both of them n e ways..

I agree with you on some of that too. Bella did have that coming to her for leading Jacob on. And she knew that too. But Edward also kind of had that coming for leaving Bella in the first place. He opened the door that let Jacob in. I guess when it really comes down to it, Jacob is the only one who really didn't do anything. Poor guy. Almost makes me feel sorry for him.

I think that is why a lot of girls love Edward. There aren't many of him out there. Most boys are jerks all the time. Not nice most of the time like Jake and only mean to Edward lol.
When I read these the first time I told everyone I was on Team Edward but in reality I had married Jake lol. Maybe that's why I picked Edward lol, b/c the hubby is such a Jake. LOL =D

I read about Jacob in that chapter, and there it was: Hope, and sun, and a big smile stretching across my face.

Here he is still kind and sweet and innocent. *sigh*

I really think it's a shame that he became so bitter after he transformed.. I loved his bubbly side so much more! I'm still Team Switz though.. :)

Well, he was a sweet 16-year old.. and then life happened and he grew up to be a man. Childhood and sweet innocgence gone forever.

Although life happened kinda early and fast for him...
As he said in his preface in BD:

Where did the sweet and optimistic Jacob go? Away, to never be found again.. :(

I think he is still optimistic at heart, just more realistic. Disappointment's have taught him. But I tend to think he's happy again.

But yes, I love reading about the early Jacob. He makes me smile, literally.

I guess you're right about that he still has some optimism in him, I mean, the way he never stops fighting for Bella in Eclipse just shows that he still has that kid side to him that we thought had vanished..

Actually, I agree with Bella. She said that Jacob felt more like his old self when he was the wolf. So I think that is where Jacob went. :)

I wonder why that is though.. That the wolf is more like the sweet Jacob..

I think because Jacob in human form has all these problems that he has to deal with. With the wolf he is umm....I"ll say alot more free than human Jacob and he had alot less disppointments as a wolf. Perhaps his heart and soul is the wolf so it is easier to let it shine through.

hahahaha good one! I think in chapter 5 bella finds her strength back true her hallucinations. My favorite part of this chaoter is in pag 124 when Bella "The psysical ewvidence was the most insignificant part of the equation. I was changed, my insides altered almost past the point of recognition".
On the "barf" thing........I agree we here are NEW MOON LOVERS not matter what, every single caracter is important and vital to the story. whit out Jacob Black we would not have NM. For me Eclipse was really hard to read because of Jacob but I love him any way as I love all the others.

Yeah, i totally blame Bella for the things that Jake went through in Eclipse and the early part of Breaking Dawn at the wedding. I felt like though if it wasn't for her wanting to feel some part of Edward(hence, the hallucinations) then she wouldn't of went to see Jake.

So i feel as if she just wanted to use him, to get what she wanted(Edward's angry voice of concern). Then, by the time the bikes were done, she was so far in that she couldn't just back away now. She became comfortable with Jake.

"Jacob just nodded. This all made perfect sense. Only a teenage boy would agree to this; deceiving both our parents while repairing dangerous vehicles using money meant for my college education. He didn't see anything wrong with that picture. Jacob was a gift from the Gods" she was using him to get what she wanted and she saw him becoming attached but all she cared about was getting rid of the pain she constantly felt and hearing that Edward still cared about her.

I'm Team Edward all the way but innocent Jake was nice, until he transformed and blamed the Cullens for everything then his personality just got ugly at best while Edward was always being kind and nice to him.

Well, Edward was reading Jake's mind so he knew that he sort of liked Bella and he also knew that Billy and the other Elders wanted Bella to stay away from Edward and his family so therefore he felt as if they were trying to take his girl from him, which they were.

Jake was still not in the know and innocent at that point but he liked Bella even then, if you read the extra on Step Meyer website, so in a way he was sort of jealous and envied Edward because he was who Bella choose, even in the beginning

That is true Edward never showed his dislike in him until the Treaty chapter. I don't believe that Edward never liked Jake at the beginning, because after all he was only the messenger. But, Jake started to show such strong hate towards him. Like someone else said, Jake blamed Edward and his gamily for him being a wolf but Edward didn't ask to become a Vampire either.

Just was just childish and taking all his anger out on Edward and the rest of the Cullens but Edward had it the worst because they both had a common thing, Bella.

I don't think you will see much Edward/Jake hatred in New Moon, not until the end atleast and of course when Jake is talking to BElla after the transformation telling(or trying to persuade) her that he is better than Edward by bringing up the fact that Edward left her broken.(low blow) But he had every right to try and win her heart i just think that after it was clear she wanted nothing but to be friends and that her and Edward were clearly together it started getting obsessive, i mean who fights that hard for a girl who is clearly inn love and a true friend wouldn't make her choose.

I agree. When I read the books I was amazed at how unbelievably selfish Bella tended to be. Which, made me feel like a turd because he reminded me of MY Jacob (also known as Ian) who was my bright light when I needed it. I finished the chapter and then called Ian to apologize for everything. He just laughed and said "I take it you're reading New Moon. That means I'm your Jacob, huh?" I knew I loved him for a reason.

But yeah, any sadness Jacob goes through was almost always Bella's fault. Then again, Bella DID make the choices that lead to Jacobs ultimate hapiness too. So I guess it was worth it.

In this chapter is when i started to read like if i wasn´t there just awakening a bit when Edward´s voice appeared, but up until I saw Carlisle´s car at the door of Bella¨s house I wasnt there....nice Jacob, very nice at first really....but there was something bigger missing...

I think, for me anyway, though I love Jacob, the fun banter, flirting, wasn't there. You know? Like Twilight is all about the flirting, the touching of skin, feeling the electricity, the banter in conversation, which I love. With New Moon it was just ... friendly. Yes, Jacob obviously loves her, but she didn't want him in that way, so there was no ... electricity...

In Twilight it was so intense, the chemistry between Bella and Edward, even when they just touched fingers... would give you shivers. But here it's like... meh. Even though I like Jacob, he's a good guy, I like him more in Eclipse. That's when I fell for him... :)

I liked that he never gave up even though up until the end ( and even there) Bella repeated over and over again that Edward was her life...the courage he had to open the zip and getting inside the tent no matter what...just to warm Bella ...but anyway he said that very clear he could be the sun but he couldn´t fight an eclipse and edward is A TOTAL ECLIPSE ....he disarms me everytime I see him in every scene when i think i´ve seen all here he goes and again....

I'm mexican, but because sometimes the translations are not exactly the same i read the books in english, some of my friends read them in spanish and when i read some parts of them, the lines didn't seem right, the original, english version is waaaaaay better, the lines also sound more romantic and dramatic in english.

Another example of the losses in translations. I'm always curious about that. When my french was better I would try reading books, but sometimes the translation just didn't hold the same power.

yes!! i don't like it!! hehe. but i do get it why they lose it with the spanish, one word has a lot of different meanings so it depends a lot from where you are, for example most people in latin america use the word: tu to say you. but here in Honduras we use: vos. so other words are changed as well. if i read a translation to spanish i have to be careful to read the Latin spanish, cuz the Castellano(spanish from Spain) it's a little bit different than ours. it's kind of confussing all this right? hehehe.
OHHH you know french??? that's awesome!!!!!!!!! i wish i could undestand it hehehe. i just understand a little bit the portuguese and italian because they are alot similar to the spanish, but french not so much hehe

I learned French ten years ago, and without anyone fluent to speak with, it slowly leaked out of my brain. I'm planning to take classes and reawaken the french speaking monster in my mind. I occasionally have dreams in French, so I have to know it still somewhere. I want to raise my future children in a bilingual household. I'd prefer French because my father's side of the family is Quebecois.

It always amazes me how different dialects of the same language can be! I had friends from Puerto Rico, and hearing their spanish with those from Mexico and Spain was always interesting. They speak the "same" language, but there would still be moments when one of them would say "Wait. What?"

Maybe I'll practice by reading the saga in French. :-)

This is actually the first time i see Bella come out of her shell.. from always being so socially- awkward.

I also thought that Bella's nightmare in this chapter is terryfing and until she decides to go and see Jacob there is a smile on my face.
But yeh i think this chaopter was put in a good place because the rest of it would of been about her being depressed and trying to be 'normal' as she says.

SM was absolutley spot on about making Jacob's character more prominent in New Moon.

I like that Jacob accepts Bella with open arms, even though she hasn't spoken to or seen him in what, like 8 months? It was nice to see Bella starting to realize that life goes on after heartbreak. Her sub-conscience is finally able to get her attention with lines like "I realized that I was pleased to see him. This knowledge surprised me." and "I'd forgotton how much I really liked Jacob Black". If Bella would let herself feel things before this and not try to hide in the nothingness, she would have realized she could have had some happiness in her life and it may have made existing easier

I want to know what Edward is doing during this chapter!!!??? Is he curled up in a ball, letting the misery have him? Is he attempting to track Victoria? Why did he not think that Victoria could be after Bella? Why couldn't Alice see it coming??

I'm curious if the reason Alice couldn't see Victoria was because the werewolves were involved. They were always tracking her, etc... so maybe that's why it never really hit her radar.

As for Edward... This is the first book series where I REALLY would read it again through another character's perspective. Imagine if SM wrote all four books from Edward's POV!! I'd buy them all and read them again!!

I wonder if that is bound to happen sooner or later, it all comes down to money, I can imagine SM would make so much money writing the novel from Edward's POV. She must have had the offer, now whether or not she'll take it, is up to her. (I hope so, though! :)

Favorite part? the reintroduction of jacob black DUH!
But what i love more then that is when bella notices how natural it is for her to feel happy arround him. She doesnt have to pretend to listen, she doesnt fake a smile or a laugh. She is really truly happy in a way she hasn't been since edward left.
Its natural and easy and nice just like it was the first time they met.

To me this chapter shows the real end of her numbness, it is really a turning point in the book.Even though she wasnt feeling numb anymore she was now getting used to be aware again and her mind was not very clear. It is hearbreaking to me when she starts to analyze what Edward promised to her and how she realizes the imposibitlity of it. How she understands that maybe one day she could look back... The bikes were like "meant to be" and is one of those moments in live when things happen for a reason.... I like the Jacob re-introduction back in the story and how immediately when they saw each other something "click" as Bella says between them... This is when destiny decides they are meant to be together even though is not in a romantic way ; ).... (they talk about this in BD after Jacob imprints on Renesmee).
