It's not in slowmo, lol. He took off his shirt in the book before he retrieved the bikes...had continued to have his shirt off when they went back to her place to discard her bloody clothes so they wouldn't get found out.
They did seem to make it a focus but at that point in the book Bella is watching him get the bikes and admiring his skin and tells him he's beautiful when he comes back. It's cheesy in this part and even more so in the movie :)

i know all that. what i meant was- im not saying that he shouldn't have taken his shirt off. i know its in the book and she admires him etc. thats all accurate. its the WAY he took it off. and yes its in slowmo, in my opinion. he took it off a bit slowly not like right off the bat.
