Honestly, they shouldn't make The Host into a movie. They're going to butcher it no matter how amazing the director or actors are going to be! It's so difficult to be able to show the 'souls'. Plus, everyone has a different version of how everything looks like.

Yes! i love the host just as much as twilight maybe a little better can't wait to see it and who the actors will protray

i am soooo excited that the Host will be made into a movie!! i just finished the book and it was amazing - if you like sci-fi stuff...i loved that you could completely see the scenes and people as the cahracters...it had so much emotion throughout that i cannot wait to see how they pull this off...i posted my picks for some of the main characters on another website and there are quite a few peeps that posted the same leads for the guys...i am just excited that this will be a film and hope they choose the right people to portray them

The Host is the farthest thing from Twilight. That's exactly what I was thinking when I was reading the comments. You just can't compare the 2. They're complete opposites.

I'm happy for SM that someone else stepped in and didn't let Summit buy the rights to the book. I haven't read it yet, but hope that they stay true to that book too whoever directs it.

Mostly I'm interested in everyone finishing up the Twilight saga and for SM to get to writing some more books in this series. I wanna know what happens to other people or if Jake really ends up with Renesmee (in my mind it doesn't happen). There is so much love tangles that could happen there with Nahuel lurking about, his father loose making a super race of half breds and Leah still alone. So I wanna know.

That's great...I think. The story is awesome, but, I'm afraid they might wreck it like they did with Twilight.

i just show Jennifer's Body last night and she was so so so bad in it. i mean reallybad in it.

Tried reading it and sort of lost interest. It's no twilight (at least in the sense of keeping my attention) but I'm definitely up for the movie since she's such a genius writer. I'm sure the on-screen version will be great.

EW... so I just looked around at some of the on-line suggestions for cast of the Host and, not that I'm trying to be rude but, please PLEASE do not cast Megan Fox as Melanie. Melanie is a strong, independent non-girly type of girl. Megan is not the best actress to play her. I could picture her acting out some of Melanie's parts, but not Wanderer's while she is inhabiting her. Wanderer is too sweet to be played by Megan Fox.

What about Dakota Fanning as Melanie? She's supposed to be quite young and if she dyed her hair dark I think she could really give quite the performance. Remember, as much as Wanderer is controlling the Body, she is only the soul, so we don't see her most of the time, we see Melanie's body acting out Wanderer's intentions. So the actress who plays Melanie has to be quite skilled in playing both a rebel like Mel and a kind, sweet soul like Wanderer. I think a veteran/ experienced child actress like Dakota is probably the best way to go.

that was my first reation, to cast DAKOTA FANNING . dokota is used to sci fi sincec she was in war of the world and she had alot of acting dakota is rather young, sweet... the list goes on. I really hope they pic her

i think would be a great jamie... he has sent in hes resume' lets just hope he gets it.. so you dont need to mute your tv... he has intellect one of the best actors of his city... i believe in my eyes to make such an etiquette remark... but see he has it all besides the eye color and hair color... DI WOULD DO GOOD, AS WELL AS CONTACTS. and his hair is naturally curly... and well he can add a relaxer and get it a shaggyer look as it was before he had cut it....

You still have time. Besides I'm a Twi/Host fan so your always welcome as far as I'm concerned. It's a good read, a little boring in the beginning but it starts getting better every chapter onward. ;)

Of course we all want to see Rob and Kristen in a movie together from here to eternity (hmmm wonder if they'd consider a remake of that, Rob and Kris on the beach...wait...BD...ok ya...I digress), but in all seriousness Kellan COULD pull of the role of Ian!

Think about it, ladies (and gentlemen)...you KNOW I'm right!

It's been about a month since I've read it, but wouldn't they need twins to play Ian and his brother (kyle is it?).... correct me if I'm wrong. But what about Jared? Kellan could do a great Jared... I always thought of this character as being really buff and handsome in a rugged sort of way.

I agree, I'm kind of excited about this! I think Kellan could pull off Ian... I'm not sure who else would work. I saw Ian Somerhalder mentioned; he has the looks, I think. And I like the idea of Jensen Ackles as Jared. The females I'm less sure about.

I saw a fanmade video, though, with Jim Beaver as Uncle Jed. I love that idea - Jim Beaver is great in Supernatural (as is Jensen). And I saw the actress Summer Glau - though I'm not sure who she was portraying. I like her - she has a sort of creepy vibe in her acting.

But yay, I'm excited for this! I don't know how they'd pull off the Melanie/Wanderer talking to each other thing, though.

i have read the host once and all the twilight books like a dozen times,i liked it but for some reason i kept waiting for edward to make an appearance lol>Im happy for stepanie and all her success but i pray she finishes midnight sun and it wouldnt hurt my feelings any if she went on farther w like jake and nessie stories and more edward and bella vampire stories

ok now the distractor thing!:
i got into the computer laboratory and not sited next to him i was like in the opposite line. after we introduced our selves(stupid teacher's rule) he looked at me and told me to site next to him, i kind of ignored him on porpouse but he insisted so i moved (lol like i really needed him insisting haha)
so once i was there it was me, him and a friend of both. so we started joking about things actually about everything, we were just giggling of the dumbest things. toward the end the professor told him: sorry but i'm going to move you cuz you seem too into your classmates hahaha our friend is a girl too. but the teacher was staring right to me and of course i blushed. and he was but i don't want to move, i feel good here. the teacher said uhmm i think we all can tell you feel way too comfortable there. MEN! that was embarrasing, so anyway he got moved and now we have another guy between my friend and i. we were joking about who was the bad influence so we gang up on him LOL, he's the bad influence haha.

but in the next class he sitted next to me too. and told the professor: you are not going to move me are you? and the proffesor told him that it was not necesary. then when that class finished he told me that he didn't care and is going to be sitting next to me in the class he got moved LOL.

then we were going outside and he asked me if i wanted that he gave me a ride to my home but i had alredy called my mother, but he stood with me until my mom came.

and the only sad thing is that he's not gonna come to my party cuz he has to work tomorrow, he's working as a teacher and the students have a thing like prom but he has to be chapperon LOL haha

in my highschool there was no air-conditioner until last year (my senior year) so we had fans.

we should keep the fans in case the electricity is gone!!!

i was on a catholic high school (yeah with nouns and that) so our principal was a very angry noun. everybody was afraid of her, trust me. so between classes, when the teacher left(we didn't switch class room, the teachers had to switch classroom) everyone started talking but we were not allowed to stand up. so this girl standed up and out of no where started dancing like a crazy!! we all were laughing and nobody saw the noun coming cuz she entered trough the back door of the classroom, plus her shoes doesn't make any sound.
when the girl finished her weird dance. we heard a clap from the last line, and there was the noun!!! the girl was with, purple, blue LOL we though she was going to faint!! haha obviously she had to go with the noun to the office, but the thing is that she was soo in the moon the she didn't realized the door was closed, and since it was a glass door you can imagine how that end up right?

hahahahaha!!! omg!! i would have been cracking up like crazy! hehe! So you went to a Catholic High School? and did you mean Nuns??

we had this class where they teach us how to cook and things like that, i don't remeber the name in english, i'm sure you know the name of it.
the teacher said we were going to do a pickled, of course you need to add it to something but she said we were just gonna do that and nothing to add to.
all my class i'm talking about 54 people, we agreed to take snacks, potatoe chips andthings like that. we were not allowed to take our bags into that classroom but taht day everybody was with their bag.(we hide the snacks in it) haha, one of my friends had a 3 huge pepsi's in hers. we were about to start the MEGA SNACK PARTY!! when the teacher told us to leave the room. of course we all rushed to get "the evidence"(our bags) but she said: NO BAGS! everyone out!!
and she started to check the bags and found one cheeto's, 2 doritos and then she opens my bag!!! i had 10 doritos and a 3 lay's!! she was sooo mad and then grabed my friend's bag and when she found the pepsi's OMG!! i thought she ws going to kill us!!. she yelled who are the owners of this two bags?? (mine and my friends) LOL there was a huge silence but then i said uhmm the first one is mine! hahah she had a super crazy look on her face cuz i was good student and never got in troubles LOL haha so because of that they kind of forgive us.
they called all the school to the auditorioum and said that we were the ashame of the school(my whole class) and when the older grades asked what we did? and they told them. everyone started claping!! hahaha it was hilarious we were supossed to be "the bad guys" but everyone thought we were cool hahahaha good times. my friends still joke with it saying, hey if you are hungry check marce's bag LOL

We had a waffle party a couple weeks ago, we actually made waffles IN CLASS!! lol. people always just pull out food and start munchin! LOL.

well we don't have those here but we get to see the animals in their natural habitat. uhmm like the manatees, about 20 min from my house there's a place were you can go and watch them eat, they live on a river. so yeah we don't have zoo's too but again we can find monkeys and other animals on our mountains or the places around.

Oh really?? thats sooo cool!! we don't really have stuff like that in WA! well i guess we do cause we have woods all over, but nothing as cool as manatees!! :) lol! and even on the beaches in washington, we don't see too much cool stuff! LOL.... except wolves!! LOL!! :D :D

I have read the host and i have discovered two things about stephenie meyer that she translates into her books...first that she always counts on a person´s desire of doing right no matter what the circumstances are, or if by nature they should act in one way that wouldn´t be wrong because it´s their nature, they always seem to look for that...( remember the cullens?) and second she loves triangles, i mean love triangles because in the host there is a love triangle but in this case with one woman that is two and two men...the rest is up for you to read....
And finally she loves sagas, because once you finish the book you know there will be another ones about this, and I wonder...could it be possible that she finishes midnight sun? i would definitely buy that book, but the rest of the host is not sure, i´ll ask for them in the library....so, please stephenie, end up edward´s point of view of twilight and we will thank you forever and buy it of course!

Yeah, I agree with 99% of this list. Amanda Seyfried as Wanderer would be perfect, Ian Somerhalder as Ian, and Jensen Ackles as Jared is my top list. Also I can't wait to see this because Summit didn't get a hold of it and hopefully it will be good. Everytime I went into a book store I saw The Host. I thought I'm not going to to buy it because I'd keep comparing it to The Twilight Saga. Nothing can be as great as The Twilight Saga. But for some reason a couple of months later I bought it. Still haven't read it yet. But I'm going to take my chances and read it. Awesome news for Stephenie!!

So in the end I helped make the book a best seller and did not like it. Go figure.

Stephenie, focus on Midnight Sun, please? this book doesn't deserve to not be published. It's better than the whole twilight saga.

It is a good book, but very different from Twilight. it's quite a bit more sci-fi and it's very visually descriptive. If you're unsure you may want to borrow it from a friend. I just loaned mine to my very best friend and fellow Twilight addict and she likes it, but doesn't need to own it...

I haven't read it either, guess I'll have to now that its gona be a movie.
I love how they said they wanted Stephenie to be apart of the creative process...maybe MR should have taken the same direction!

yeah i was always fascinated with on-screen couples coming back and doing different movies. pretty woman --> runaway bride. titanic --> revolutionary road. etc.

it would be really cool to have them do an edgy movie as humans. i'd also like to prove to myself that kristen can act different than the bella i've seen her as.

It's gonna be intersting to see how they pull off the Mel and Wanda since one of em can be seen, alot of it is in the mind...but i'm super excited to see who will play the parts!!!! :)

I thought it was better book than Twilight.
But Twilight is the best thing ever.

I have the book but i haven't read it yet... someone told me it's hard to get into it... but i'll read after re-reading the twilight saga ^^

I have the HOST read about 3 chapters.. coulnt get into it. Its so hard when Twilight Saga is what were used to reading from her. Though I am excited to see the movie :)

I'm very excited...I love the host! Am I the only one to think though that it'll be really hard to transfer to the big screen. Its revolved around the inner battle and friendship between melanie and wanderer so it'll be interesting to see how they are going to convey that

I read the whole thing while I had the flu, and honestly I never did get into it... but hey, might be a great movie(just cast some hot guys, come on come on) :D

I haven't read The Host but have heard it's not as good as Twilight, so can't say I'm particularly excited about this movie.

Of course, that could all change when the cast is announced... I'm so shallow!

I loved The Host. It's completely different from Twilight, there's no comparison - well, there's a romance, but that's about it. Although, I'm biased, cuz I'm a sci-fi nerd, so its all good! :D

I'm the same with casting, i love Transformers but the minute Megan Fox stepped on my screen i had to mute my TV. Damn it, i missed little bits of Shia talking. I'm so annoyed as well that i want to go see Jennifers Body!

But it's not like Twilight or as good. I hated the book. Thats just my opinion, because throughout the whole thing, Wanda, the host wouldn't do anything naughty or bad. I felt like burning my book. Ah, the ending, got me mad. But all depends on who is playing the characters. LOL

A friend of mine has said she will lend me a copy of The Host so I will give it a try... but it sounds like it might be a bit too 'sci-fi' for my personal taste. And who knows? Maybe the director will make the movie better than the book...

I read it last month. It was good. Didn't have quite the same appeal for me as Twilight had, but I liked it enough to want her to write another. As I was reading, I was thinking that the plot was perfect for a movie. I found Twilight to be more of an emotional series, while the Host was very visual to me. I hope you like it!

LOL - I read it last year, it was my "reward" after having an emergency appendectomy and being stuck at home for 6 weeks...

Awesome book, I really liked it. She did a fantastic job on it, and it will be interesting to see how it's interpreted on the big screen. I hope you enjoy it! :D
