lol I was bored, I quoted the book:

A young woman with satiny copper skin and long, straight, crow-black hair was standing at the counter by the sink, popping big muffins out of a tin and placing them on a paper plate. For a second, I thought the reason Embry had told me not to stare was because the girl was so beautiful.

And then she asked "You guys hungry?" in a melodic voice, and she turned to face us full on, a smile on half of her face.

The right side of her face was scarred from hairline to chin by three thick, red lines, livind in color though they were long healed. One line pulled down the corner of her dark, almond- shape right eye, another twisted the right side of her mouth into a permanent grimace.

it makes me want to read the book again!

I think the scars look well done. However, I don't think this looks like what is described in the book, nor does it look like a wolf attacked her. Just my opinion.

Exactly! I envisioned distinct, groove-like markings where you could basically imagine his nails digging into her flesh and the pain she must have felt while he did and the pain HE feels every time he looks at her.

This makes me think of chicken-scratch, you know when a child takes a pencil and starts scribbling? Or roots of a tree, branching out all over the place. SM describes it very clearly in the books so I had a concise image of what it's supposed to look like in my head and THIS definitely isn't it, no offense to CW.

Maybe this is the result after reconstructive surgery. Surely, they would have tried to put her face back to a more normal appearance? I think she looks great, though!

Somehow, I doubt that... I'm not saying it looks bad, just that, considering how vividly SM described it, it doesn't match that description at all. But I guess he took creative license in this area. Personally, I think SM's description is more horrifying than this portrayal, and that's supposed to be the point: bad things happen.

Oh yeah, I agree. To me, the degree of guilt, shame, horror, or whatever when she was harmed probably wouldn't be justified by these slightly "pretty" scars.

Yeah, I pictured it to look a little differently too. Her face looks like she got cut by glass falling through a window or a glass door rather than done by a werewolf/shapeshifter. I'm not saying it doesn't still look good, but definitely not how I pictured it.

Yup, that too! It's supposed to be claw marks, not human nails. It should leave wider, deeper indentations.

I half way agree.. The scars themselves are pretty right on to what I had pictured.. but I thought that her face would be a little more mangled... Like, didn't it say in the book that part of her mouth was pulled down a little from one of the scars? I think I just pictured it a little more gruesome... they are still good though, and her beauty does shine through, but maybe a little too much for what I was thinking she'd look like. I thought she'd be more plain...
