Twilight Saga humans:  Anna Kendrick, Michael Welch, Justin Chon and Christian Serratos gave a superb interview where they talked about filming New Moon and working with Chris Weitz:

Unlike Twilight, which was shot in Portland, you shot New Moon in Vancouver. What was that like?

Justin: The weather’s actually been better here. Portland was very, very, very cold and rainy. It’s a little bit nicer here.

Anna: One of the freaky things about shooting New Moon in a different location than Portland was the re-creation of things, like the high school parking lot. It was like déjà vu because we were in a different country but they completely recreated the parking lot from the school we shot at before.

You also got a new director. What was it like working with Chris Weisz?

Michael: Chris was really great. Catherine [Hardwicke] was wonderful too, but they’re just totally different in terms of their style and their process. And I think that as a result, you’re going to end up with a film that just feels very different. I think that Chris made more of a conscious effort to have a visual cohesiveness in terms of how the film is going to look and feel with the vampires, the werewolves and the humans. Visually, it’s more stylistic. And as far as the way he likes to work on set, he’s just very calm and very clear-headed and intelligent. He knows what he wants and puts a lot into the preparation so by the time we get to the set it’s all sort of mapped out for us.

Christian: He’s really awesome. He’s very well-organized, well-spoken, fun and carefree – simultaneously. It’s incredible.

If you weren’t playing humans, which would you prefer to play: a vampire or a werewolf?

Anna: I would personally rather be a werewolf since they seem to get to have a lot more fun. The vampires are very cool, but they have to be very calm and collected all the time. The werewolves get to let loose a little bit more.

Michael: I’d much rather play a vampire. Being a vampire would be cool, I think, for the first 100 years or so. It’d be fun to be able to play because vampires are just too cool; they’re just sexy and interesting and complicated.

Christian: I’d play a wolf. I’d play Leah, ’cause she’s sassy.

Rob Pattinson was pictured last night leaving  L’osier French restaurant in Japan as he took a break from the promotional tour dining and drinking wine with New Moon director Chris Weitz and friends.

Rob finally ditched the baseball cap and looked rather dashing in a suit…..me likey! Doesn’t he scrub up well!

We are on chapter 7 of our countdown that means 18 more days until the release of New Moon.  Join us by reading a chapter a day together.  So in order to help pass the time while we wait for New Moon to be released, I will continue to post a thread everyday for each chapter in the book, counting down the days until the official release of the film on November 20th.

Chapter 7: Repetition

Two words: Cullen. Manor. I was super excited when Bella took her “field trip” as she called it out to the Cullen home, or the manor as I like to call huge exquisite homes. Besides that, this chapter really wasn’t action packed yet again, but it does give us some key knowledge, & introduces us to some of the characters that have a huge impact later on down the line.

• When Bella visits the Cullen Manor, the emptiness I felt when she describes the home; the overgrown trees, unkempt land & the overall scene leaves the once warm feeling home, looking creepy…”a fitting haunt for vampires”as she stated.   ”I stopped when I got to the porch stairs, because there was nothing here. No lingering sense of their presence…of his presence.  The house was solidly here, but it meant little.”  “I didn’t go any closer.  I didn’t want to look in the windows.  I wasn’t sure which would be harder to see.  If the rooms were bare, echoing empty from floor to ceiling, that would certainly hurt.  But wouldn’t it be worse if there were no change?  If the couches sat just as I’d last seen them, the paintings on the walls-worse still, the piano on its low platform?  It would be second only to the house disappearing all together, to see that there was no physical possession that tied them in anyway.  That everything remained, untouched and forgotten behind them.  Just like me.”  *sigh*
• On a brighter note, I absolutely love how Angela & Ben welcome Bella back with very forgiving open arms after she’d been a zombie for 4 months, and Mike even gets the courage to ask Bella out on a date! (Can’t wait for the movie theater scene)
• I love Jacob & Bella’s “adding years on their ages” jokes.  It’s a riot when Jacob says: “Cool I’m middle aged now.”
• In this chapter we are introduced to the cliff-diving scene, that later turns out, well…you all know what goes down. Lol
• Jake’s humor basically saves the entire saga in my opinion(me being the class clown that I am) Jacob’s humor never ceases to amaze me, especially when he refers to the LaPush gang as “hall monitors gone bad” ROFL!
• Finally, we are formally introduced to Ephraim Black & the story of Sam Uley & “The Protectors.”

I think that just about covers this chapter. Did I leave anything out? What are your feelings on chapter 7?

Some lucky fans got to spend Halloween with the New Moon castat Harrah’s in Atlantic City Halloween night with Alex Meraz (aka Paul) Chaske Spencer (aka Sam) and Edi Gathegi (aka Laurent).

All the guys look exceptionally gorgeous but none were in costumes….come on guys it was Halloween!   Guests had the option to hire cabanas and hot tubs…..I know who I would have had in my cabana and he wouldn’t have left all night…maybe that’s why they weren’t wearing any costumes as they would have just had to have taken them off!

It’s the gift that keeps on giving! We now have a sneak peek of Rob’s Vanity Fair interview, plus some amazing outtakes!

In the interview Rob touches base on how he has been living out of a suit case, and has been quite overwhelmed at times over the past year -

“I’m trying not to drown,” he says in his hotel room at the San Diego Hard Rock Hotel, which is littered today with beer bottles, old scrambled eggs, a half-eaten Twix bar, and a dirty pair of jeans on the living-room floor. And he notices that he hasn’t made his bed. “Oh, God. Sorry about that.”“I’m unbearably self-conscious about stuff,” he admits. To the point where, while filming scenes before the army of New York paparazzi that has been following him around, he is terrified that his “ass crack is showing.”

Despite the fact that he is an exquisite beauty—with perfectly formed red, red lips and a face that might have been dreamed by the Romantic poets—he thinks he resembles “a cartoon character.” One of his legs is longer than the other, which makes him look, he assures you, “like an idiot.”

He’s sure he’s driving people crazy by constantly talking about how he can’t leave his hotel room. And he sees his inability to relish his fans’ reverence as his own shortcoming. “I guess I’m not the type of guy cut out to do a franchise,” he says. “I’m not much of a crowd person.”

[Pattinson’s director from the indie film How to Be, Oliver Irving,] recalls, “he’d make his eyes water and get himself all worked up … slapping himself and doing everything he possibly could to make him feel ill,” while passersby wondered what the hell was the matter with this guy.

When you play a weirdo, he explains, “You can always have an excuse… He’s a weirdo!”

“What Rob and Kristen had is a multitude of feelings for each other. Complex feelings for each other,” says Hardwicke. “It was what we needed. Complex, intense fascination.”

New Moon stars Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart recently had a press conference in São Paulo, Brazil. NMM reader Brunella sent in her impressions of the trip to Brazil, as well as a translation of the interview–

Kristen was very cute and welcoming, shy, but very very nice to EVERYONE, even the fans, she took pictures with some girls who were in the same hotel as she, she asked herself the security guards to let the girls pass and talk to her, there were MANY people outside the hotel and the airport, it was huge, people travelling from their cities to see them, or try to.

Taylor didn’t talk to the fans, he was always running away, maybe he was scared of the people. But he was very polite and nice at the press.

Kristen definitely surprised everyone with her sympathy, we’ve heard many stories about her being rude, but she was totally the opposite, and made people fall in love with her even more, she was gorgeous, but its not new… you have no idea how many people were there, not paparazzi, but fans, lots of fans, it was crazy, and she said brazilian fans are very warm, ’cause generally fans are more affraid and reserved. She loved it and we love her.
