Hey everyone, ok so I'm watching Twilight the movie and it dawned on me that there seem to be a high amount of ppl who hate the film. I actually liked Twilight and it was the reason I read the books and became a fan. I wanted to get you all's opinion on what you disliked about it and what you liked. Thanks for your contribution!

I read the books before I knew their was a movie and I love Twilight I seen it like 30 times : )

I know, I own it on DVD and I never get tired of watching it. I'm sure it will be the case for all the other ones too.

I will say that there are some moments where Kristen's acting is a little cheesy but all in all I think the acting throughout the film was ok. I thought the movie could have shown more of their blossoming relationship. There is a lot that is missing from the book which I feel rushes there relationship on screen.

I love all the humor that we get to see too. Everything doesn't have to be so intense all the time. The book has these funny moments as well.

I'm like you - I watched the movie then read the books. The way it was for me is I loved the movie - but being an avid reader - I just knew they had to have left out all the good stuff. It seemed they fell in love WAY too fast and I knew there was a great love story behind it all.

Everyone I have personally talked to in Savannah that read the books 1st HATED the movie and I find myself constantly trying to defend the movie. Some people just don't get it: 1. You have a 500+ page book that you want to make into a 2 hour movie - HELLO!!! You are going to loose some scenes (I do hate that they left out the blood typing - that would have shown part of their falling in love). 2. Edward is perfection, so beautiful he is godlike - hard to find an actor that exactly fits that - so get over it and accept that Rob Pattinson is the closest to perfection that Hollywood has (yes - I still know a few people who don't like Robward). 3. The special effects - they weren't great, but they were on a limited budget and did what they could. Get over it people!

Anyway - yes I loved the movie, but not near as much as I now love the books of the entire Saga, and we must never forget to give thanks to CH for the wonderful cast she provided us. They made so much money on TL, I think NM will be 100x better, they will make even more with it and I have high hopes for Eclipse (my fav) and BD.

ps- don't ever ask my opinion and expect something short! lol

It was just rushed. Alot of important relationship "markers" were left out, so the relationship was rushed rather than having the feeling of it build and smolder like the books. Bella and Edward were very serious throughout. Bella is very sarcastic in the book, but no so much in the movie and Edward is quite lite and funny in the books as well, but very brooding in the movie. That's all fine as long as we could have seen all sides of them. It was almost 2 dimensional. Bella's personality is relatible to most women young and old, the self doubt and the rush of first love etc. I think alot of that was lost in the translation from book to movie.

I love the movie regardless, I just fill in my own blanks with my imagination :)

I watched The Messengers last night... for halloween :D

I watched Panic Room about two days ago! I hadn't seen it in quite some time and I must say Kristen did an amazing job in that movie.

She was young yet you could already tell she would be a talented actress.

I break it down like this...Jacob love is high school... Edward love is life...that all consuming "I will do anything to keep you happy/safe (Edward)" as opposed to "I would do anything to keep you (Jake)" and I like both characters, cuz they each represent a different kind of luv... but stephenie already showed in the books... Jake isnt Romeo... he's Paris...hey it happens... and at least with renesmee he is finally able to show that Edward kind of luv

and she said something that made me not hate it so much.
she said that the fact that she loves jake, makes her love for edward even more true as she has another option. She can still be relatively happy in a human life, and keep all of her family friends. But she doesn't, she's willing to ditch that other option in order for eternity with edward.
I'm glad i read that from her, it makes everything make much more sense to me :)

I have to say that the twilight vamps a decently prettier then the true blood ones, yes and I include Kellen in that cause god know I love a pretty boy lol

They both have their good points, I think. Twilight vamps are very pretty, smooth, young-looking... whereas True Blood vamps are older, rough-looking but in a sexy way. A lot of people talk about Eric in the show.. now I've only see S1, but there's something about him that just exudes sexuality. lol.

It's funny.. I tend to like Sam a little better than Bill, too. I do like Bill, but for me it's not necessarily the dog/wolf part; I seem to root for the second-place person! ie: Spike in Buffy the VS, Jake in Twilight, Sam in True Blood. I think it's that they're usually misunderstood or cranky at times, yet you know they're good-at-heart and they always try sooo hard to win the girl! And they're cute. ;)
