Director Chirs Weitz talked with MTV about some DVD details for New Moon which will be release in the first quarter of 2010.  

“There will be a commentary track,” Weitz revealed, saying that he’ll soon head into the recording booth with his three big stars, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. “It’ll just be us riffing off each other in our intimate way,” he grinned. “We kind of like each other, so that should be fun.”

There will be probably about 20 minutes of deleted material,” he explained, promising some meaty footage. “It really is good stuff and a bonus for the fans.”Among this bonus footage could be several moments MTV knows were shot but did not make the final “New Moon” cut, including:

»A scene with Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria driving to Forks in a car, snacking on a dead human. It was one of the final moments the actress filmed as the nomadic vampire.

» A scene with the human characters eating Burger King.

»Another scene with the humans, this time with Justin Chon and Michael Welch expressing jealousy over Edward’s car.

»More scenes with the Volturi in Italy.

» An extended cut of the scene where Mike Newton quotes Shakespeare to Bella in the Forks High parking lot; in it, he does a Marlon Brando impersonation.

» Scenes alluding to the ongoing breakup between Newton and Anna Kendrick’s Jessica.

The commentary track on Twilight DVD was my favorite.  I’d rather watch Twilight with the commentary on because I thought Rob was hilarious.  “Let’s be simple about this guys.”  LOL!  I cannot wait to hear Rob, Kristen, Taylor and Chris on the commentary.  

One of the first things I noticed after watching New Moon was the Victoria scene in the car was cut.  There’s a picture in the New Moon Companion Book.  I can’t wait to see all the deleted scenes in the DVD!

    Yo, Summit needs to release three discs. All the deleted scenes and extended scenes should be on one disc. the Director's cut on the second disc. The film w/ commentary on the third disc.

    I agree. I want the extended scenes of Edward and Bella and Jacob. I honestly dont care much for the humans extended scenes. But anything involving the main characters and the Cullens and Volturi would be a treat. I really want to see extended scenes though. And hurry up I cant wait for February.

    So maybe around April? I think that's when the Twilight DVD came out.

  • Ahhhhhh my first true comment in 2 days not done from my iphone! Talk about withdrawls! I think its very obvious that we will ALL be beyond excited for the DVD release. I just wonder how soon it will be because Twilight ran in theaters for like 5 months down here so if New Moon does the same... ah... it will be at least 7 months for the dvd and in that case it will probably be released on dvd just before Eclipse comes out, *SQUEAL!* I am beyond ecstatic that we only have to wait 7 months for Eclipse.

    So... Summit... when will you make up your d*mn minds on production dates for Breaking Dawn... thats what I am really freaking out about this week!

    i think chris stayed to the book for the most part but it just felt like a lot was missing, maybe b/c it happened all so fast idk...but i don't know who to blame him or MR for less romantic scenes maybe when we see all of the deleted scenes will find out...i just didn't think bella stayed depressed like i pictured her in the book..he started strong with it but it kinda slowly disappeared idk i can't really explain it.

    One thing that was left out of Twilight Dvd's was a blooper reel. I love watching those so it sucked that they didn't have them. I would love if New Moon's dvd had that.

    i hope he just didn't spill all of it, because i was serious when i said

    & more bella/jake convo--not added funny stuff but them actually talking about him being a wolf & how he feels about the cullens,
    & more depressed bella like how she tore the stereo out her car.

    i know i'm wishing on a star but i hope it's gonna be more than what this lists.

    I heard that they cut out all of RL's speaking parts from the movie. I hope that they have them in the DVD. The whole thing was completely insane and I'm sure we'll never know the complete truth about that.
