The 'good friends' is Rob's standard answer and it's true, regardless of the relaysh(whether they are or aren't), they're still ultimately good friends, like he has said, he sees love as evolution of friendship.
I vaguely remember Zac Efron was saying the same about Vanessa, while she was already his girlfriend, he was saying she's his good friend, just left the part she's also his GF out of his interviews.

It seemed that even the author didn't actually believe there's nothing there and felt the need to put disclaimer there, saying the relationship status of those two may have changed and changed again by the time you're reading this'. And like Gossipcop reported, right before she turned the interview in, she contacted the reps of both and Summit and they had no comment to make when she asked to once again confirm or deny, what actually was already in the interview.

I felt bad for Michael too. They were just normal young actors before this and because of the fandom and attention, their lives were torn apart. We always forget how young Kristen is. She's only 19 and has the weight of the saga on her shoulders and has to deal with the added stress on her relationships. It's insane.

Kristen is right to feel frustrated - I can understand this - and she should protect her privacy - as a fan I do respect this. That said, her response unfortunately is in her typical rude and disrespectful way and she always seems to condemn the entire fan base - which is a mistake since most fans don't behave poorly. Kristen should take a lesson from Rob - he at least tries to get his points across without insulting the fans.

She is being defensive about it because people are invading into her personal life. It is no one's business whether or not she is dating Robert, or Taylor, or Michael Angorano, or whoever else - no one's business but hers (or who she is dating, if anyone). She has the right to defend herself, and she has every right to refuse answering the question. People care way too much (myself included) about who she is dating. I love Kristen, because she has a unique personality, she has an attitude, and she isn't afraid to show it. I said it before and I will say it again. It is no one's business whether or not they are going out. It is no one's business who she is dating, whether she has hooked up with him, or whoever.

Like she said, if people didn't care so much, maybe she would answer the question. It is her life, she can live it how she wants to, and she has every right to keep things secret about her life. The stories will be made about her anyway. According to the tabloids, Robert and her have already broken up and gotten back together at least three times. She doesn't need to feed into this frenzy anymore.

Anyways, I don't even know if that rant made sense. I will just end with saying that I am a hardcore KStew fan, she is a very talented actress, she is very intelligent, she is very unique, she knows who she is and isn't afraid to show it, and she is a good role model for anyone.

I don't see Kristen Stewart as a role model. When I think about role models I think about people who are able to manage their lives even when dealing with challenging circumstances. In addtion role models are inspiring, reflective, thoughtful, intelligent and respectful. Kristen Stewart is not a role model. I, like the majority of fans really don't care if she ever answers any questions about her relationships - we respect her privacy. I am talking about her behavior - in most interviews she attempts to come off as this cool rocker chick with attitude and in the end believes her behavior is often rude, angery and insulting to the fan base. A role model would show grace.

I don't think she *wants* to be anyone's role model, and don't blame her. For some reason, the public seems to expect younger actors to be some kind of role model, and it's simply not their responsibility. She didn't set out to be a celebrity, she has a love of acting. It's two different things. The celebrity thing is media-made and fan-made -- why should we change our expectations of someone because they have a face that we suddenly can all recognize? That doesn't change who they are, and we shouldn't expect them to suddenly become a "role model".

This has been a major gripe of mine for years -- young actors being expected to be a role model for our kids. When they SAY they want to be a RM, then it's one thing, but until they do I think it's unreasonable and unrealistic to expect them to be.

I agree with you 100% but there are a lot of actors that do really well with the papz by just be open and honest and transparent... Sometimes I think actors help feed the frenzy by being really secretive... I.E. Beyonce...But I know it can be hard. Chris Martin is like that about he and Gwyneth... In an interview he said something like " we are just trying to proctect our relationship, because we are just as fragile as anyone" I get that.... When you're in the public eye it can cause problems, but there are a lot of couples that actually have more peace now that they're open about it.... But in the end... It is Kristen and Rob's right to keep what's theirs, THEIRS!

I totally respect the way that Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow deal with their marriage. They are pretty good at keeping it secret. I mean, of course there are the pictures and stuff of them going out in public, but still, their life is private and they must work really really hard to keep it that way. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like for celebrities like Kristen, who hate being in the spotlight like this, to have to defend their personal life. She is defending it by being secretive, and it just sucks for her no matter how she approaches it. If she said no (about going out with Rob), a lot of people would say she was lying, and it wouldn't stop the stories about her and Rob from circulating, I would bet my life on that. If she said yes, well....I don't think I need to say anything about what would happen if she said that. And here she is, going about it in the best way she thinks there is, by not answering, and still, people are calling her defensive and secretive....

I don't want to act like I know her personally, or anything like that, but I feel like in a sense, she likes being in the spotlight because it means she has an easier time getting to play parts she really wants to play. But that doesn't mean she is comfortable in the spotlight. It seems to me that, recently, she has gotten more comfortable with interviews. I love that, because when she speaks, I feel like she is so intelligent and has so much to say. For example, when she is asked questions about Bella, I feel like she takes so much time to answer the questions truthfully, and it seems like she has thought so much about the character.

I will admit, that sometimes I feel pretty hypocritical, because part of me really wants to know if this whole "her and Rob thing" is true. I sort of bring it up on this site, and then people tell me what I want to hear, which is "Yes, of course they are, I read it in an interview." But I think reading this article just reminded me that Kristen is in a tough position with answering these questions, and it really isn't anyones business what the answer is. I will continue to go on long rants about her because my love for her keeps growing, especially with interviews like this.

I apologize to everyone if I seem hypocritical. I don't mean to sound like I am not interested in whether or not her or Rob are going out, because I am. But more than that, I want Kristen to be who she is, and sitting down with some journalist or media person and telling them that she is or she isn't going out with whoever is not who Kristen is, so I applaud her for that. I don't want KRisten to change for anyone, because she loves who she is, and so do I.

Seems like all the best interviews are never recorded now :( I would love to see this and the HB interview in a video. Good for Kristen for speaking up, I feel like she hit her breaking point. I don't think any of us really know why Rob and Kristen won't just admit it. We don't know if it is Summit forcing them to stay mum or Kristen wanting to stay private or Kristen wanting to KMF to all of the paps or a collective decision by Rob and Kristen to just keep their relash private because that's how they are.

Whatever the reason, it is their's and I respect that. They should not have to answer just because a select few need a confirmation. That is their perogative and personal life.

It's because of this fixation on are they aren't they that is fueling these type of interviews, like VF.

Harper's Bazaar was a Robsten photoshoot, but never once did the infamous question come up. Props to them.

I agree. And, given the "context" of the pictures, I was totally expecting the question to be asked, to tell you the truth. Rob on one knee? I LOVE the picture, but it just screamed "look at us we're dating" - when we know darn well it was the photographer telling them how he wanted them...

And we know there are people out there who now think this means that they are together, and it's a definitive answer... It was nice to see HB be classy and NOT come out and ask the question...

This HB photoshoot seemed to run the whole spectrum of their relationship, if they had one. It wasn't a two-dimensional take on Bella and Edward at all. It was representative of them: the tree pics: irritation (possibly with the press); the "yearbook" pics: nestled and happy; lying down on the rose petals: longing for each other, etc.

But that engagement shot could be taken in so many ways. It's off-putting how literal it is; a cynic would not want to believe that ish. A cynic would claim that it's a picture mocking the media. Yet, any Robsten fan would say that it proves they exist.

See how Robsten work us. We'll never know the truth because they know how both sets of the audience think.

OME!!!! Did you all know that the director of photography for Eclipse was the most wonderful and talented Javier Aguiresarobe??? He is also the DP genius of New Moon....already we love how everything was shot and how it looks for NM, so I think this is great news for Eclipse. I didn't doubt Slade at all (personally Hard candy had some great things going on) but I am thrilled that it too will be a film that is beautiful in the aesthetics sense in cinematography.

I'm sorry, no one is more scrutinized and harrassed than Robert, and he is never rude, hostile or anything short of pleasant. That goes for ALL of the cast members except her.

I'm not Kristen, and I'm not her biggest fan, but I have a feeling that when people ask her, "Are you doing Robert Pattinson?" no matter who it is, she dumps them into the "You are a piece of s*** that's not worth my time or class" pile.

And because that pile is huge, total strangers snapping pics of her and asking her that private question 100 times a day- even though they know her reputation for being "difficult"- she's going to give them a hefty load of difficult.

You see it as no class. I see it as her reacting as any human would to the crass and rude questions the media ask her without the dulling affect of media training. What we see other "kinder" actors do is not normal, IMO. They've been conditioned to roll with the punches; but Kristen doesn't roll. Kristen punches them all right back.

She's allowed to be herself. She is an actress. Her only job is to perform. She isn't a political figure. She doesn't work for Disney or Nickelodeon.

When I was speaking in terms of slander, it was the actual definition not the legal term. What you just wrote.. "I thought.." is a lot different from "She is". Yes their private lives should remain private, but some things come with the territory, they're famous and they should know the public wants to know this stuff about all celebrities, not just them. If you don't give definite answer, you're somehow perpetuating rumours, the media keep asking the question, the paps keep harassing for the money shot, the Nonstens and Robsten fans keep fighting with each other, it''s neverending cycle. I don't expect and need any verbal confirmation, but don't complain about it so much because the whole mystery just gets the media/paps/fans going. I think by confirming it even non-verbally that would take some heat off them.

Here is my take.... I was one of those people that really couldn't decide whether or not they were dating.... but after being quite about it, observing and look at body language... here's what I see:

1. Kristen and Robin are very attracted to each other and may have very well did something together to express that attraction... Lets be real...

2. They haven't defined it yet, but clearly there is something going on between them.

3. Rob doesn't want to say anything out of soladirity with Kristen, who is obviosluy like "F*ck all of yoiu'

4. I love Kristen, but some of you may not agree, but overly confident people can be the most insecure people... Not sure if Kristen's whole F*ck you attitude is 100%. The strongest woman can admit their limitations.

5. Or maybe they're not dating at all yet, but really would love to but just can't

Whatever is going on... I agree with Kristen on some level that it is their business. But I can honestly say that know matter how difficult it is to deal with people's opinion about relationships, i don't think that I could ever be the type to hide mine. There are not a lot of good relationship out there and when there is I think more men and women should express their happiness.. That's one of the things I like about Eva Longoria.. OK- I really don't know what the big deal is... They are already spending almost 24/7 together, so what difference does it make if people want to know if they are together or not?! Well IF they are dating and they say it, there will be a LOT of upset Rob-only fans. Many fans dislike Kstew already, and dating the hottest guy is only going to add fuel to that fire. Then you know OK! will have false stories about cheating and whatnot. Besides, if they break up, it will be a HUGE issue spread all over every tabloid imagineable. She spoke about her relationship with MA in the past, and look how many cover stories were about her/MA/RP love triangle. I think she learned from that it's best to keep it shut.

3. The select Nonsten/Robsten fans (not all, most are actually really sane like myself) just waiting to hear their non-answer so they can analyze every word they say and spin it around to support their side, calling the opposing side delusional.

Not to mention the tabloids. All the cheating rumors if they confirmed, all the broken up rumors if they deny, all the secret love rumors if they don't answer.

They can't win.

I feel bad for them. This is only going to continue until the next big thing comes along and Twilight gets out of the spotlight. Personally, I like being in the dark about the whole thing.

Here in Australia nearly every week there is ANOTHER article about the "secret wedding plans" "baby rumors" how Taylor and Rob don't get along on set because of the tension over Kristen's affections and so on. I must say it is a hard life being a celebrity but when people start wanting to know about your private life thats when it gets too much. As fans of the twilight saga i think we all, at some point get carried away as well and find ourselves goggling everything about these 2 so we can find out if they are an item, but you know what? They are young, talented actors who undeniably have a FANTASTIC on and off screen chemistry. Whether or not they are dating should not be any of business as curious as we may be. It's hard not to be interested in the lives of others but i feel if we are true twilight fans we will lead the way in respecting these talented young actors and appreciating their art rather than what happens behind closed doors.

If he was still a devoted bf to her he would have like gone to visit her on the set of The Runaways and maybe Eclipse and have gotten his a** out to Vancouver! Not sure how many of you saw the candid pic of Nikki and Michael having lunch or something but that had to be more than “2 old friends catching up.” Of course, Kristen probably came up in the convo. Plus, Rob and Kris at Chateaux’s together? We’ve seen pics. Seems to close for comfort if they were just friends if you ask me. I mean, how many of you do that with ur guy friends? Maybe they are trying to keep things under wrap b/c they are afraid of what is gonna happen. Like they will lose fans or something or the people at Summit were like no, something would happen like a break up and it would screw up the franchise. Or Michael was mad at them at the thought hooking up and bailed. But if Kristen still loved him, wouldn’t we have seen em together by now? She would have fought for him. yeah the test was okay, but i was SERIOUSLY sooo mad about the speaking test!! like and i didn't study for that at all either... i wrote up the little paragraph the night before and barely looked at it, and i memorized it all and i met ALL the requirements!! i got done and he goes "well you should have put more vocabulary words into your description.... You could have done better.." thats exactly what he said! :( i mean i had words in my description that we haven't even learned yet!! but he wanted our recently learned vocabulary words in there... which i didn't know!! ughh! yeah and he was having everyone go in alphabetical order and so i was like one of the first people to go.. (Carter) :).... after i went the whole class was asking me what the test was like and how it went so i told them to make sure they put our recent vocabulary words in their description, so everyone changed their stuff and now everyone else got better grades cause i told them what he wanted before they went!!! UGH. lol

You know the ones that need to be saying FORK OFF are the other cast members that are badgered about the entire Robsten situation.

If I was Ashley, Kellan, Jackson, or any of the other cast members, I would be p*ssed because they are always asked about Rob and Kristen.

I can appreciate that she wants to keep her private life private and I understand that it can be frustrating, I just wish she had a little more couth while speaking to the press. It's part of the game, clearly not her favorite part of the game, but everyone hates certain aspects of their job. It's life and life is not always fair, it's all about how you carry yourself. Sometimes I love how real she is, but sometimes I feel genuinely sorry for the reporters who are just trying to do their job and get an answer like that. A little balance would be nice. People are interested in her, her being mysterious about things only makes people even more interested. I think she is talented in a certain way and she will probably have a good career ahead of her, hopefully as she matures (she is only 19 or 20 after all) she will develop a better way to deal with akward topics that she chooses not discuss publicly. I think that a lot of times people who do not like Twilight or don't know enough about it read comments that she makes and it toally turns them off to the entire thing.

I haven't given into the whole "Robsten" thing yet. Honestly, I think they're right friends. If Kristen hasn't said anything yet and Rob hasn't said anything about it yet, than why should we have the rights to say anything about it. It's their life and they can do whatever they want to do. We have no right asking them questions about their personal life. Who are we to them? We're just random people who are making their lives unbearable. I support what Kristen had to say. She didn't need to answer that ridiculous question. You go girl!
