David was HORRIBLE with Rob tonight. WTF?

That was a wasted opportunity on David's part. Not only that but like no one went crazy when Rob came out and I was like WTF? Does he only have older (by older I mean 60+) people in the audience? Or maybe just some people who haven't heard of Twilight/New Moon yet (I shudder to think that's possible).

Rob, of course, was great. He looked hot, nervous and completely adorkable, as we have all come to know and love. David sucked. I mean hire some freaking younger (in the know) writers to "feed" him questions that would be worth watching...and new questions at that.

When he told Rob "Aww...bite me" after Rob didn't answer the question of whether or not him and Kristen were dating, I thought it was rude and I wanted to smack him. Rob looked uncomfortable after a while....I don't know, it could have just been me.....

Sorry for the rant, but I was thinking the same thing about David Letterman sucking tonight.

He did pretty good the other night on Jay Leno. He threw to Jim Rice (I think it was) and one of the throws was from the stage to Jim up in the audience. I was a little nervous that someone in the audience was gonna get pinged in the head but he shot it right to him. Jim didn't even need to move.

He really impressed me...as did Kristen, tonight. They should have him throw the football in high heels, just like she did.

Haha, I'm loving Kristen more and more with every interview. She's so comfortable and herself in this one. Since the beginning of Twilight she's really gotten a lot more confident, and mature. And wow, look at her heels! If I wore those I would fall down as soon as I stand up XD. And if I threw that football it would drop down halfway... I suck at anything physical.

I know I don't comment much, but I do read most of what's said on here and I just have to say you lot have made these past few months so much more bearable and enjoyable for myself in the anticipation of 'New Moon'. Thank you everyone at nmm.org for this wonderful website and the brill enjoyment you have offered me during this time.
I know the premiere in the US is tonight at midnight and the movie has also already been released in many parts of the world. However, at this end we have to wait until November 27th (I actually was lucky enough to find a theater and get a ticket to an advanced screening, on the 26th at 7.30 PM).
So, I just wanted to let you know I will not be coming back here until after I've seen the movie myself, there's just been so many spoilers and I'm sure u guys will have some brill discussions on here and I so wish I could be a part of that :(, but I will be back in a week.
Many thanks again everyone, I am a bit emotional actually, you have truly made an impact on my life and made my last few months that much more bearable.
I hope you all enjoy the movie tonight and I hope it well exceeds our expectations.

Dude, no words about Kristen on Fallon last night. My brain is off. All I know is that Rob was f'ing beautiful!!!!!!! OMG the scrufff!!!!!!! And the hair!!!!!!!

I does seem to be a love it or hate it thing. I'm going to stop reading the reviews; they give me anxiety. I love a lot of films that got savaged by the critics and a lot of films that everyone loves left me cold. I'll use my own judgement.
It's really hard not to look though.
PS. Ebert called Jasper Edward's 'pal'. I'm guessing a lot of his dislike for the film has to do with not knowing a damn thing about the story. A lot of the reviews have criticised things that they think are errors or just done to get the audiences in, ie. topless men, without knowing there's a good reason for these things in the book.
I am stopping reading the reviews NOW!

I should really stop reading the reviews too, so many have been bad so far. The two biggest newspapers in Norway gave it a 2 and a 3 and slaughtered it!!

With Twilight I know I liked it only because I loved the books (sorry..), there was a lot I would love to have changed. That`s why I don`t argue with others that haven`t read the books that say that it wasn`t that great of a movie (we know the story and can read "between the lines" I guess you could say). I always blamed it on the low budget, but now it better be good because I dont have that argument anymore!! heh...

The thing about some of these negative reviews is that there are a TON of people who HATE the whole Twilight saga for no reason at all. They know nothing about it except what they have seen in the media (that it is a movie for young teens so it must be dumb/cheesy). They hate it just simply to hate it. Perhaps they are annoyed with how much attention it gets or something. I don't know. It's like they go into the movie WANTING to hate it. And if you do that, you are probably going to hate it. I don't know anything about Roger Ebert, I'm just venting about the overall reviews. So thanks for listening.. ;)

On the other hand, you have people who are going to stand up for it no matter what. They love all things Twilight. Which I am probably one of them, but I still want a fair review. LOL

With that said, I don't trust hardly any of the reviews. At all. In my mind, there is no way that New Moon will be worse than Twilight, and I still managed to enjoy Twilight, despite all of its flaws. Good grief, the movie is what got me reading the books. And after reading the books, I realized how terrible the movie was in comparison.

I see Twilight as a magic eye picture. Some people look at it and a see a mess and others, us, look at it until we see the picture underneath. I like the fact that the books aren't full of perfectly polished writing. There are so many books and films that pander to a framework of how the genre should be. Twilight's a bit messy round the edges but it's got originality and a soul.
I saw Twilight first with no background knowlegde and liked it. Then it was months before I read the books, devouring them in a week and starting again. When I watched the film again it was like seeing it for the first time. There was all the background in my head and I loved it.
I can't imagine making sense of the NM movie without reading the books but I think that's OK. There's no law that says it has to appeal to everyone. It's the fans who will buy the tickets.

I agree with everything you said and felt the same about Twilight (movie). I liked it only because I love the story/books. I hope and beg that NM will be better, and in my mind it already is (heh). Can`t wait to see it later tonight and once again join the wold of vampires and werewolves and the lovestory we all fell in love with! ♥ ♥ ♥

A lot of the bad numbers for the movie on Rotten Tomatoes are from men. A lot are from people who love serious sci-fi and monstrous bloody vampires and werewolves. They aren't going to like anything Twilight. Star Wars and Harry Potter didn't get good reviews either or any big awards so you just have to enjoy it for what it is. I just hope that the acting is good.

a 6. a 6 is solid. a 6 is the max you can get out of SM cheese. I did cringe. Especially the wolf pack...and the R. and speaking of the R you know who I mean... And Summit f***edddy f***edf***ed CW with the budget but he made the best he could out of it. I expected more of the CGI, but I expected more than 100 million $ spent on this movie, which didnt happen.

Hmm, I do expect the SM cheese. But I also expect Rob and Kristen to make the best of it, because that's what they did last time.

I never care about cgi so that never bothers me. But I'm surprised CW didn't do a better job in terms of cutting out the fat from the cheese, if you will. I have a feeling we should blame MR ultimately then. So that means BD will be horrendous because MR's doing that script too. Wow. CGI baby will make me want to leave the friggin theater.

MR is the lesion sore that needs to be cut out.

Cringing from the wolf pack is not good. I was hoping Chris would've made that better too. But again, I think our experience reading the book will be the same watching the film. I can't remember half the pack and I'm sure after this film, I still won't. Oh well.

I don't think it'll be that bad, actually. Because of the fact that Kristen isn't as bad as she was in Twilight. We already know we're snoozing through the middle of this because that's what we did when we read NM. It'll be no different. We'll perk up whenever Robward shows up and feel like we're having a heart attack when Kristen will save him in Volterra.

Actually there is something much more sweeter about this story. And makes the JB part more bearable than in the book. MR did a solid job if you ask me. Its just the timing...in some scenes. The wolf pack are first time actors...and you see it.

I feel like I'm going to agree with you on the music. I haven't seen it yet (tonight i will), but I don't like the song they used in the birthday scene. I like the scene and I like the song, but I don't necessarily like them together.

The birthday scene is better from what we have seen before.
But there are some things where you find yourself being "why is this here?"

I'm not too surprised, I've been racking my brain tryin to think where some songs would fit in the movie, but nothing made sense. The lyrics fit great, but some of the actual songs don't seem like they would mesh well in the movie.

I know what you mean. I love the NM soundtrack. The songs fit the story, but its like CW collected songs that he likes and thinks will be newmoon-ish and then its like 'so lets put this here this there', its like he had a lot of good songs and didnt want to waste them so they sorta pop out. you know what i mean? as much as twilights ost was cheese CH worked that aspect better.
But the instrumental score....the creations of Aleksande Desplat that is genius. It really blows you away. And works in the movie.
So my point is given that CW had brilliant songs he didnt make the best of them in the movie. But it irritates me in only one scene.

I can't wait to see it and come back to try and guess which scene it is that annoyed you lol. I'm already looking forward to buying the score. The previews I heard on youtube were absolutely beautiful.

Cuz the first time is gonna be so over the top and in the moment tunnel vision experience that I won't be able to be objective.

But by Saturday, I should be able to take it all in and realize how I like everything.

I think that it is overly cheesy and tabloid stupid for these talk shows to ask the question that Rob and Kristen have repeatedly made abundantly clear that they do not want to answer and are asking people to respect that.

They are promoting a movie that comes out tomorrow, not doing a cover for OK magazine.

Harper's Bazaar and Jimmy Fallon are still the only two that did not bring it up.

I think the media is so used to the sort of celebrities who love attention and want a reality show on MTV following their every dull move. When they see actors who look like they are genuinely interesting in real life, they want to turn them into those kind of media whores. They haven't grasped that Kristen and Rob are not those people. They don't want attention, they want to act.

This is, I think, I really good review.

Basically, what I am getting across the board is the following, whether two thumbs up or down:

The acting is great.

The CGI mediocre.

The storyline overly melodramatic.

The cinematography excellent.

The abaliciousness and shirtless men are overly played and too much.

But the performances by Robstenlor save the film from its flaws.

This is from about 15 reviews that I have read from substantial critics.

The reviews are mixed from what I have read, but I find its mostly the "guys" who are reviewing it are the harshest. I do agree with a few though who say MR and SM are scared of blood and real action, but I am hopeful CW brought NM to a different level. At midnight we will find out! :)

I'm sorry but nothing those critics say will change my mind about Twilight. They should pick up a book which I wonder how many of those critics have read the Twilight Saga. I will go and watch it with my own two eyes fairly soon. Don't believe them CF911. They are trying to persuade us to turn our heads. It's not going to work.

I think that is the prettiest I have ever seen her, she looked GORGEOUS!!! Also, she seemed calmer than any of the other interviews shes done. Maybe its cuz its her last one for a while and she knew she could just relax. That must be such a relief for them knowing its on the brink of being over for a while.

The football throwing was so cool and funny, she got 4 out of the 5 plates, I think.

That was amazing! Jimmy Fallon is definitely my favorite talk show host and Kristen's got some pretty awesome skills with the football. It doesn't look anything like that when I throw a football.

She is great. Best interview by far that she has given. Jimmy Fallen asked alot of new questions and gave her a chance to answer. Great Interview Kristen. Sorry you are sick, I am too but I am still going to the movie.

Great Great interview!!!....loved the besties part, and the martha stewart part and the footballs!...He just totally put her at ease with his sarcasm because she's always trying to joke around, but she's so quiet that a lot of the interviewers don't get it...but they just kept playing off eachother. I think Martha is TEAM EDWARD or maybe TEAM ROB. haha I bet she was daydreaming the whole time she was talking with Kristen.

She says, "Are you sure Kristen? Because I swear in my dream, we were chatting and laughing so hard. We were inches apart and I could taste his breath. It tasted delicious. I wanted to ask him if he has some special recipe for kissing."
Kristen rolls eyes, "Really Martha it's part of your imagination, but you will have to ask Rob."
